1569 Distraction
Kelan was rendered speechless by Yuan's response, and after a moment of silence, he spoke, "Junior, it's good to be confident in yourself, but you were clearly on the brink of death. If I hadn't saved you just now, you'd have become a human skewer."
"Also, if you hadn't given up, why were you frozen just now? Any onlooker would've assumed you were giving up in that situation." Kelan said.
Yuan shook his head and sighed, "While I appreciate your thoughtfulness, it was unnecessary and undermined my existence. Leave. I don't need your assistance."
"You…" Kelan's expression quickly turned angry. He couldn't believe he was being lectured by the very person he had just saved.
"Is that so! Then you can go ahead and die here, you stubborn and arrogant little bastard!" Kelan left the scene the very next moment.
However, Kelan didn't wholly leave and only pretended to do so. Even if Yuan refused his goodwill and shooed him away, he still had a duty to protect Yuan, and it was not only his promise to Elder Bai that compelled him to do so.
Yuan's talent was simply shocking and unlike anything he'd seen before, and that fact alone was worth his protection.
'Regardless of his character, he's a profound existence that will significantly benefit our Celestial Overlord in the future. However, he'll need to survive until then, and with his suicidal nature, it's not going to be easy keeping him alive.' Kelan sighed inwardly, feeling like an older brother trying to keep his younger siblings out of trouble even though he was hated by them.
Meanwhile, the Immortal was left speechless by what had just transpired.
'W-who the hell was that bastard just now?! I don't recognize him, and since he left without doing anything to me, it's safe to assume that he's not with the pursuers!' The Immortal swallowed nervously.
If Kelan had been with his pursuers, he would've never made it to the Fourth Heaven alive. That was just how vast the difference in their strength was. Immortals are prideful creatures, so for one to acknowledge their inferiority held great significance.
"I apologize for that." Yuan suddenly said.
"What?" The Immortal stared at him with wide eyes.
"That man's interruption. Although it was never my intention, he disturbed our battle. Go ahead and use that technique again. I can even wait for you to recover some of your energy." Yuan explained.
Not just the Immortal, but even Kelan was utterly speechless.
After a moment of silence, the Immortal began trembling, his face flushed red, turning into a tomato.
"STOP MOCKING ME, YOU BASTARD! DO I REALLY APPEAR THAT PATHETIC TO YOU?!"
With an enraged bellow, his aura skyrocketed.
Meanwhile, several individuals far away from the Purple Sea sensed the distinct aura of the Immortal's Qi.
"It's the escapee!"
"Why are they releasing so much Immortal Qi?! Are they engaged in battle with another immortal?!"
"It must be the others! But why didn't they notify me?! They know that Immortal isn't someone they can handle alone!"
The immortals chasing after the escaped immortal were puzzled when they were not notified, and when they contacted the others, they were shocked to learn that none of them were actually fighting the escaped immortal.
"What? None of you are fighting the escapee?! Then what's with this immense Immortal Qi?! They wouldn't release so much Immortal Qi for no reason!"
"Maybe the escapee is trying to lure us into a trap."
"Do you seriously believe that?"
"Whatever the escapee is attempting, we need to capture or kill them! Let's hurry up before they escape our grasp again!"
These immortals immediately started soaring toward the Purple Sea.
At the same time, Bai Ning was just minutes away from reaching her destination.
Unlike Kelan, Yuan could sense her approaching presence from miles away. Not wanting to expose his identity so quickly, he wore the Celestial Visage again, hiding his face.
Just as Bai Ning arrived, the Immortal activated his technique again.
"Immortal White Lance!"
Thousands of white lances filled the sky, each exuding profound Immortal Qi.
Bai Ning was shocked by the scene, but when she noticed the masked man in the middle of the battlefield, her eyes fixed on him, and she was unable to look away.
"It's him!" she exclaimed in a bewildered voice.
Although he was wearing a different mask, she recognized him as the individual who bullied Bai Xutao and used that weird technique on her.
Bai Ning wanted to approach Yuan, but he was in a position where she could not enter, as she risked getting blown away with him by the Immortal.
"DIE FOR ME, YOU HUMAN MORTAL!"
The Immortal released his technique.
Kelan gritted his teeth as he watched Yuan being bombarded with Immortal Qi. He wanted to believe in Yuan, but his instincts acted before he could even think.
However, he was immediately halted by an unfathomable presence that surpassed even Senior Bai.
"Who's there?!" Kelan frantically looked around but couldn't sense anyone.
'To avoid my detection, they must be a God Ascension Realm expert! What the hell is going on right now?!' he cried inwardly.
"Oh no! Junior!"
The distraction rendered Kelan unable to save Yuan, his mind already racing to formulate excuses for when he would have to report Yuan's death to Senior Bai. Yet, Kelan's face filled with disbelief as he witnessed the unfolding events. What he saw defied all expectations and left him momentarily paralyzed in astonishment.
The Immortal's attacks landed with unerring precision, each strike tearing holes through Yuan's body. Yet, to the Immortal's astonishment, the grievous injuries Yuan sustained healed instantly, akin to a demon's heaven-defying regenerative abilities. It was as if the very laws of nature bent to keep Yuan whole.

The merging of his physiques, which had been progressing at a snail's pace, began to advance rapidly under the immense stress Yuan's body was enduring.
"Just what the fuck are you?!?" the Immortal shrieked out loud, his face twisted in anger, but his eyes showed a hint of fear.
