Chapter 1669 — Chapter 1669 Heavenly Physique

After reaching the eighth level, Yuan didn't pause and continued toward the ninth level. However, just as he was about to extend his arm into the ninth level, he suddenly stopped. His instincts had kicked in, warning him that he wouldn't escape with just a destroyed arm if he underestimated the ninth level.

'Let's ignore the ninth level for now…'

Yuan took several steps back and sat down to cultivate in the eighth level.

"I guess he's not just bold and reckless." Long Yejun laughed out loud after seeing Yuan's actions.

"He has good instincts." The Sky Splitting Dragon smiled.

"You guys want to play a game? Let's bet on how long he'll take to reach the ninth level and conquer the training ground." The Baneful Dragon suddenly suggested. "I'll start with five months."

"Sounds fun. I'll bet a year." The Sky Splitting Dragon confidently said.

"Then I'll go with six months." Long Meihui said.

Long Yejun pondered for a moment before speaking, "I'll bet he'll conquer this place within three months."

"What are we betting, anyway?" Yingzi asked.

"Good question. How about something we consider valuable? Even if it's only slightly."

"Sure."

"Then I'll bet a hundred meat skewers he'll finish in a month," Yingzi said.

"Meat skewers? What are those?" They looked at her with raised eyebrows.

The only person who knew what the meat skewers were, aside from Yingzi, was Long Meihui, who had experienced their deliciousness before.

"It's food," she calmly said.

"Food…? How's that valuable?" The Baneful Dragon asked.

Long Meihui responded in Yingzi's stead, "I can vouch for their value. They're unlike anything you've ever seen or tasted before. I can still clearly taste them even though it's been a year since I had them."

"Now I'm interested." Long Yejun said with an intrigued smile.

"But I thought they belonged to Brother Yuan." Long Meihui then inquired while looking at Yingzi.

"They do, but some of them belong to me," she said.

"I see…"

A month and twenty days later.

[Progress: 100%]

"Finally…" Yuan stood up and immediately began walking towards the ninth level.

This time, his instincts told him that he had no problem withstanding the rainbow-colored lightning strikes in the ninth level. "No way… is he already ready to conquer the training ground?" The Sky Splitting Dragon exclaimed in a shocked voice after seeing Yuan's actions.

"Slightly under two months… If he manages to conquer this place, it'll be the Shadow Dweller's win since she has the closest guess." Long Yejun said.

After taking a deep breath, Yuan stepped into the ninth level. As the lightning strikes rained down on him, they rapidly changed colors, giving an odd scenery.

[Heaven's Final Judgement]

[Description: The pinnacle of lightning mastery, a level no human has ever attained. A single strike shall split the heavens and obliterate stars!]

"He's done it! The fourth Dragon God's Descendant has actually managed to conquer the Sky Splitting Dragon's Tribulation in less than a year!"

The onlookers cheered loudly after witnessing history being made, causing the place to tremble.

"Unbelievable…" Long Meihui muttered in a dazed voice.

"Here." The Baneful Dragon handed a treasure he deemed valuable to Yingzi after losing the bet.

The Sky Splitting Dragon and the others followed.

"Thank you."

Yingzi tossed the treasures into her shadow without even inspecting them.

Sometime later, Yuan reunited with Long Yejun and the others. "Congratulations, Brother Yuan! I can't believe you actually conquered this training ground in just a year!" Long Meihui congratulated him.

"Huh?" However, Yuan did not react in the manner they expected.

"H-how long have I been training...?" he asked in a shaky voice, his face pale with a look of terror as he sought confirmation.

"Well, it hasn't been a full year, but it's close." The Baneful Dragon said.

"11 months and 20 days, to be exact." Long Yejun confirmed.

"Fuck! I had been training for that long?!"

Yuan cried out in surprise, suddenly realizing that he had completely lost track of time.

"I'll be right back!"

Without explaining further, Yuan suddenly disappeared into thin air, dumbfounding everyone there.

"What the? Where did he go?" The Sky Splitting Dragon muttered with a dazed expression.

"I don't know, but he'll be back soon," Yingzi said.

Meanwhile, in the Nine Heavens, Xi Meili approached Meixiu and asked with a worried face, "Still no news from Yuan?"

Meixiu shook her head in a dispirited manner.

"It's been a whole year since he stopped all communication… What if something happened to him?" Xi Meili sighed out loud.

Yuan had been so absorbed in his training that he'd forgotten to log off, missing his monthly update to the others for an entire year.

"Don't worry, I'm sure he's fine," Meixiu reassured Xi Meili. "The last time we spoke a year ago, he mentioned that he would stay in the Primal Expanse for at least another two years to revive Feng Feng. He's probably just lost track of time while training. This isn't the first time it's happened, though it is definitely one of his longest absences."

"I really hope that's the case…"

At that very moment, Chu Liuxiang appeared before them like a ghost, a wide smile spreading across her face as she announced, "Yuan's back!"

"What?! Really?!" Xi Meili's eyes flickered with excitement and relief after receiving this news.

"Yes," she reassured.

"What happened to him?" Meixiu inquired.

Chu Liuxiang chuckled and said, "He said he was training and lost track of time. He also wanted to say he's sorry for making us worry."

"As long as he's safe…" Xi Meili said.

Chu Liuxiang continued, "Anyway, he returned to Cultivation Online immediately after telling me that. However, he said he'll return as soon as possible to update us once he's done with his business in the Primal Expanse."
