Chapter 1677 — Chapter 1677 Robes of Destruction

Yuan sat before the mountain of materials and proceeded to inspect each one for several days.
After completing his inspection a week later, Yuan closed his eyes and began doing simulations inside his head.
Several more days later, he stood up, picked the needed materials from the pile, and tossed them directly into the furnace.
"It's finally time!" the Refined Obsidian Dragon exclaimed with excitement, his eyes gleaming like a child about to enter his favorite ride in an amusement park after waiting in line for hours.
While the materials were being refined, Yuan retrieved the Dragon of Destruction's skin and Number One Under Heaven, using it to cut the tough skin.
"What is that treasure?!?!?!" The Refined Obsidian Dragon's eyes popped out of their sockets after seeing Number One Under Heaven.
Long Yejun swallowed nervously and mumbled in a dazed voice, "No wonder why he didn't even bat an eyelid when giving me that sword… That's a true masterpiece…"
By the time Yuan finished cutting up the skin, the materials inside the furnace just finished their refinement.
After retrieving the materials, he immediately began combining the Dragon of Destruction's skin and the refined materials.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Beautiful sounds filled the workshop.
"His movement and techniques are even better than before!" The Refined Obsidian Dragon's jaw dropped.
"So he wasn't joking when he said he was rusty…" Long Yejun swallowed nervously.
"It's too vast…" The Refined Obsidian Dragon suddenly mumbled in a dazed voice.
"What is?" Long Yejun asked.
"Our difference. I knew he was much better than me, but I could've never imagined it was to such an extent. I am no different than a baby in his eyes."
"Don't punch yourself down too much… You're still one of the best blacksmiths in the Primal Expanse." Long Yejun sighed.
"Pei!" Refined Obsidian Dragon suddenly spat on the ground. "One of the best? Don't you ever say that to me again! I feel nothing but shame when I recall how prideful I was before Master Yuan opened my eyes! I was just a frog in a well, unaware of how truly vast the sky is!"
A few days later.

Yuan immediately wore the Robes of Destruction, a black and red outer garment that appeared simple yet elegant.
"I am speechless, Master Yuan! I thought I couldn't respect you any more than I already was, but you've proven me wrong!" The Refined Obsidian Dragon fell to his knees and started kowtowing to Yuan. "You're exaggerating." Yuan smiled.
"Please! Can this humble dragon take a closer look at the completed treasure?!" he begged.
"Sure."
"I will forever be in your debt!"
The Refined Obsidian Dragon jumped to his feet and rushed over to inspect the Robes of Destruction.
"Does it have a name yet?" he asked.
Yuan nodded, "Robes of Destruction."
"A powerful name, befitting of someone of your exalted stature!" Refined Obsidian Dragon nodded.
"..."
Yuan could've never expected the Refined Obsidian Dragon to be so good at kissing ass.
"Are you going to make more treasures?" Long Yejun suddenly asked him.
"Yes, but not from scratch. I am going to upgrade an existing treasure next," he revealed.
"Upgrading an existing treasure? You can do something like that?!" Refined Obsidian Dragon exclaimed in shock. He always thought that once a treasure was completed, it could no longer be altered.
"I'll show you how it's done in a moment," Yuan said.
Refined Obsidian Dragon nodded and swiftly backed away, returning to his original location.
Yuan retrieved the Starry Abyss and the Baneful Crystal—the treasure he'd acquired at the center of Baneful Dragon's Poisonous Swamp.
"That dagger gives off a similar aura to his sword," The Refined Obsidian Dragon noticed this detail and mused out loud, unaware they were both Soul Weapons, something that did not exist within the Primal Expanse due to a lack of usage of weapons.
"And that material… it gives me the shivers. What is it?"
"That treasure belonged to the Poison Dragon Monarch, Baneful Dragon." Long Yejun said.
"I see… But will he be okay handling such a poisonous material? While his smithing abilities are second to none, his cultivation, on the other hand…"
"Oh, he'll be fine. He acquired it from the very center of the Baneful Dragon's Poisonous Swamp, after all."
"Seriously? Just how talented is he?"
"You have no idea…" Long Yejun chuckled.
Their conversation stopped at that point when Yuan started working.
'Ji Ran, it will be a little chaotic for a bit. Please bear with it.' Yuan warned him before tossing both the Starry Abyss and the Baneful Crystal inside the furnace.
When he retrieved them from the furnace a few hours later, only the Starry Abyss remained, glowing purple and blue.
"He fused the completed treasure with the material while they were inside the furnace… I have tried doing that before, but it would always completely mess up the treasure, so I figured it was impossible." Refined Obsidian Dragon sighed.
Sometime later.
Yuan gazed at the Starry Abyss with a satisfied smile. The once fully black dagger now shimmered with shades of purple and blue, resembling a vibrant nebula.
