Chapter 1689 — Chapter 1689 Dragon God Festival Details(2)

The Dragon God continued to speak, "The Blood Reservoir contains exactly ten drops of my blood, so you will need to absorb and refine at least nine drops to pass the trial."

"However, with that said, the blood you'll be absorbing is no ordinary blood. Every single drop has been enhanced, and if you're unable to absorb it, you'll immediately die a violent and explosive death."

"For example, let's say I only have the potential to absorb three drops of blood. If I try to absorb even a single drop more, it will spell the end for me. You may think it'll be fine as long as you stop at your limit, and while that is true, only some of you will have the capability to tell your own limit. The majority of you will not know your limit and will essentially be walking on a thin rope in the void."

"I will give you a warning. Whether you heed it or not is none of my problem. Many—and I mean many of you here will not even be able to absorb a single drop of my enhanced blood!" The Dragon God's voice was grim but also felt oddly provocative, as if he was daring them to participate.

The second trial was arguably even more dangerous and deadly than the first. While half of the participants would perish in the first trial, there was a good chance that most of the participants would perish in the second trial.

As the reality set in for those present, they began to wonder why this year's Dragon God Festival was so dangerous and different from the rest. It was as though the festival had been tailored and fine-tuned for a particular individual.

Unbeknownst to those present, the Dragon God had changed the Dragon God Festival at the very last minute. While some speculated that was the case, they had no solid proof, and they were not going to question the Dragon God.

Yuan silently stared at the Dragon God. Although the Dragon God wasn't looking at him, he had a weird feeling the Dragon God was somehow paying attention to him.

"Let's move on to the last trial." The Dragon God continued a few moments later.

"If you manage to absorb and refine nine drops of my blood and pass the second trial, you'll be able to participate in the third and final trial, where you will get the opportunity to refine my Blood Essence!"

"WHAT?!"

Almost everyone there exclaimed in shock, Long Wu Qing included. Long Yejun's eyes were so wide that his eyeballs were on the verge of falling out of their sockets.

"You did not hear me incorrectly. For the third trial, you'll need to refine my Blood Essence to become this year's champion."

Yuan was speechless. He could've never expected the Dragon God to use his own Blood Essence for a mere festival. However, he wasn't exactly delighted, either.

While he'd managed to refine the Primal Monarch's Blood Essence, it was mainly because he already had the Immortal Monarch's Bloodline. The Dragon God's Blood Essence was an entirely different story and could outright kill him if he attempted to do so.

'I still don't dare to consume the Dragon Ancestor's Blood Essence in my current state, and the Dragon God is most likely even stronger than the Dragon Ancestor. How could I possibly refine his Blood Essence? It sounds like an impossible task…'

The only one there who even had a chance to refine the Dragon God's Blood Essence would be Long Wu Qing. However, when Yuan looked at her to see her reaction, her face was full of doubt and worry.

'So even she's not confident, huh?' Yuan shook his head inwardly.

"That is all. Due to the unnatural nature of this year's Dragon God Festival, I will give you all an extra month to think about it. Until then."

The Dragon God disappeared into thin air afterward. Right before the Dragon God left, Yuan noticed the Dragon God giving him a quick glance.

The entire Divine Dragon Sanctuary remained silent for a few more moments before commotions erupted in every direction.

"Holy fuck! This year's Dragon God Festival is fucking batshit insane!"

"It's as dangerous as it is rewarding! Who is going to participate?"

"I was… until his warning for the second trial…"

Nearly everyone was having a conversation about the Dragon God Festival at this moment.

"Brother Yuan, what do you think? Are you still going to participate?" Long Yejun turned to ask him.

"The festival turned out to be much more dangerous than I could have ever anticipated. You probably don't want to hear this, but I don't want you to participate. It's too dangerous. This has nothing to do with your talents. Humans are simply unable to absorb the Dragon God's blood, much less the enhanced version."

Yuan nodded, "I am aware of its danger. We still have a month to decide, but as of this moment, I haven't given up yet."

"It'd be quite bad if one of us gets paired with each other during the first trial…" Sky Splitting Dragon suddenly commented.

"Yes. It's incredibly risky, and it'll only become riskier with fewer participants." Baneful Dragon responded.

"As enticing as the trial seems, I won't be participating." Refined Obsidian Dragon had already made up his mind. He was already one of the Seven Dragon Monarchs, and his passion was smithing. He almost has no reason to risk his life at this festival.

"What about you two, the Dragon God's descendants?" Abyssal Dragon looked at Long Yejun and Long Meihui. He didn't even bother asking Long Wu Qing because he already knew her answer.

In response, Long Meihui looked at Long Yejun and Long Wu Qing with a worried frown.

"I'm worried that I might need to fight with my own siblings. Will the Dragon God—our father really be fine with us killing each other for this festival?" she wondered out loud.

Long Meihui wasn't worried that she had to kill her siblings. If she really fought with Long Yejun or Long Wu Qing, Long Meihui had no chance of surviving. She was worried for her own life. It was as simple as that.
