Chapter 1702 — Chapter 1702 The Final Trial

Long before Long Wu Qing even refined her ninth drop of blood, every other participant had already been disqualified. Some tried to refine more blood than they could handle and perished, while others gave up after refining their first drop of blood.

The vast majority of participants perished in the second trial, meaning tens of millions of participants were killed in just a few months. This level of casualty was unprecedented in the entire Primal Expanse and would definitely go down in history as the most deadly Dragon God Festival.

Of those few thousand participants who survived, about 95 percent of them only refined a single drop of blood. The rest of them only managed to absorb two drops of blood at most, with Long Meihui beating everyone at five drops of blood.

"What? You're telling me that Yuan, a human, had managed to refine all ten drops of blood in less than a day?! As if I'd believe that, you idiot!" Long Meihui didn't dare to believe this information despite being told by many witnesses.

"Where is Yuan right now? I want to verify it with him!"

"We don't know where he went. That human disappeared shortly after refining all ten drops of blood."

"The Dragon God probably took him away. Understandably so, too."

Long Meihui scanned the entire Divine Dragon Sanctuary for Yuan's presence, and sure enough, he had vanished completely.

"T-that doesn't prove anything!" Long Meihui continued being in denial.

It was simply too hard to believe that a human with such a low cultivation could absorb the Dragon God's blood, much less refine it.

However, when she recalled Yuan's unbelievable achievements prior to the Dragon God Festival, his newest achievement became less unbelievable.

"Does my elder sister know about this?" Long Meihui asked.

The onlookers immediately shook their heads.

"Who'd dare be the one to let her know that someone—a mere human—had managed to completely surpass her? She also disappeared somewhere after she completed the trial."

Not many people dared to speak with Long Wu Qing under normal circumstances, so it was even less likely that someone would approach her with bad news.

"So she doesn't know… I wonder how she'll react once she realizes…" Long Meihui muttered.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the Infinite Expanse, Yuan continued absorbing the Dragon God's blood.

After acquiring a Dragon Core, Yuan's body naturally absorbed the surrounding energy with astonishing speed, as if he were actively cultivating even when at rest. This meant that even when sleeping, he'd cultivate faster than someone actively trying their hardest, giving him an unfair advantage during a fight when his enemy cannot replenish spiritual energy as easily.

Suddenly.

Ding!

Yuan's Dragon Core had unexpectedly fused with his Chaotic Heart. Now, it can absorb both spiritual energy and chaotic essence without any issue. "You have one day left." The Dragon God notified him when his buffet was nearing its end.

Yuan opened his eyes and asked, "Do you mind if I take some of your blood back to my world?"

The Dragon God raised his eyebrows in a questioning manner and inquired about his reason for needing his blood.

Not hiding anything, Yuan explained that he knew a certain dragon family in the Nine Heavens and accidentally absorbed all of their precious blood during a sacred ceremony, and he promised to help them.

"Your blood is almost identical to the blood I absorbed at that time, so I figured I could use it to refill their supply," he said.

"Identical…? It can't be…" The Dragon God muttered with a serious expression on his face.

"I promise I won't take much," Yuan added.

The Dragon God nodded and said, "I'll let you take some, but in return, you'll have to forfeit your last day here."

"Deal!" Yuan did not hesitate to sacrifice a day of Dragon God's blood buffet to repay the Xi Family.

Yuan proceeded to collect the Dragon God's blood with a large bottle.

"Okay, I've collected enough." Yuan did not get greedy and only collected what he needed to help recover the Xi Family's blood pond.

"Then I will send you back now." The Dragon God said.

The next moment, Yuan found himself back in the Divine Dragon Sanctuary.

"The second trial has concluded, with two participants who have passed." The Dragon God's voice rippled throughout the Divine Dragon Sanctuary shortly later.

"What? Two participants? Who's the second?"

The beings who were not aware of Yuan's feat wondered.

Somewhere in the Divine Dragon Sanctuary, Long Wu Qing had a greatly surprised expression on her face.

"Two…? Is that why the trial didn't end when I finished? Cause there was someone else in the trial? Who is the other?" she mused to herself.

Yuan did not come to her mind because she thought he'd already died.

"The final trial will begin in ten minutes."

Ten minutes later, the Dragon God forcefully teleported Yuan and Long Wu Qing to a secluded platform in the Infinite Expanse. "Y-you're still alive?!" Long Wu Qing's eyes widened in shock as she saw Yuan standing beside her, alive and completely healthy. "You thought I was dead?" Yuan chuckled.

"But I couldn't sense your presence! And I searched the entire Divine Dragon Sanctuary!"

"Ah, that's because I was teleported by the Dragon God after I finished the trial," he briefly explained.

"What…?" She looked as if she were staring at a ghost, her face frozen in disbelief. In her entire life, she had never experienced such shock.

"That means you had refined nine drops of blood even before me…?" she muttered in a dazed voice.

"Nine drops? No, I refined all ten drops." Yuan corrected her with a smug look.

"?!?!?!"
