Chapter 1704 — Chapter 1704 End of the Dragon God Festival

Once the Dragon God's Vengeance helped him absorb some of the Dragon God's Blood Essence, Yuan no longer felt like he was expanding uncontrollably. However, he was still having trouble refining it.

The Dragon God stared at the Dragon God's Vengeance with a profound expression, his gaze sharp and intense, almost as if he were trying to stare a hole into it.

Although he couldn't see inside the Dragon God's Vengeance, he was sure it contained a powerful soul, one strong enough to cancel out his divine sense.

While the Dragon God hadn't used his full strength in his initial attempt to peer inside the spear, he had no intention of trying again. He didn't want to risk angering the being within, and he had a strong sense that even with his full power, the outcome would remain unchanged.

Meanwhile, Long Wu Qing also struggled to refine the Dragon God's Blood Essence. While she was strong enough to endure its overwhelming energy, she quickly realized that she would need far longer than a month to refine the Blood Essence fully. However, she didn't give up and tried her best.

"Hey… isn't that considered cheating?" One of the onlookers suddenly commented after witnessing everything.

"You literally just spoke my mind. Using a treasure to assist you is outright cheating."

"But was there a rule that prohibited them from using treasures?" Someone asked.

"No… and the Dragon God didn't immediately disqualify him, so it must be within the rules."

The onlookers began debating with each other on the legality of Yuan using the Dragon God's Vengeance to assist him in refining the Dragon God's Blood Essence.

Although it was not explicitly stated, using external treasures during this trial was certainly against the rules. However, the Dragon God did not consider the Dragon God's Vengeance an external treasure for one simple reason—because it was directly connected to Yuan's soul. In that sense, it was more a part of his body than a separate item, making it an exception.

Having said that, even if Yuan cheated a little, the Dragon God wouldn't have minded. After all, it was unreasonable to expect a human at Yuan's cultivation level to refine his Blood Essence in the first place.

Two weeks later—

[Progress: 11%]

[Progress: 50%]

Although the Dragon God's Blood Essence had been completely refined, Yuan had only managed to refine a portion of it, with the Dragon God's Vengeance refining the majority of it.

"Congratulations, you have won, becoming this year's Dragon God Festival winner." The Dragon God approached him shortly after he finished

Yuan pulled the Dragon God's Vengeance out of his chest and looked at it with a pondering face before asking, "Doesn't this count as cheating since I didn't technically refine your Blood Essence myself?"

The Dragon God smiled, "You're an honest one, huh? Don't worry, it's fine. I doubt anyone else would be able to replicate what you did even with the help of treasures."

Yuan nodded.

He turned to look at Long Wu Qing the next moment. She was still trying to refine the Blood Essence, and her entire body was bulging with veins.

The Dragon God suddenly turned his gaze toward her, making a swift grasping motion. In an instant, he forcefully ejected his Blood Essence from her body. Even if a Blood Essence had been absorbed, as long as it hadn't been fully refined, it could still be retrieved.

Afterward, Long Wu Qing immediately began gasping for air, her complexion as pale as a ghost. Despite her alarming appearance, she was merely exhausted and not physically injured.

After catching her breath, she turned to look at Yuan and then the Dragon God.

"I see… so I lost, huh?" she muttered in a bitter voice.

Long Wu Qing struggled to get on her feet before limping toward Yuan.

"In one month—No… we will have our match in one week," she said with a fierce gaze.

Yuan then said, "I don't mind delaying it a little so you can recover properly."

"This kind of injury will heal within days, and I want to fight you as soon as possible."

He nodded, "If you insist, we will fight in a week."

"Meet me at the Endless Arena exactly a week from now," she said.

"I understand."

After receiving Yuan's confirmation, Long Wu Qing disappeared into thin air.

"As the Dragon God Festival winner, you have earned one wish. Tell me your wish," said the Dragon God a moment later.

Yuan stared at him in the eyes and spoke in a clear and calm voice, "I want to borrow the Sacred Chalice of Purification. I need to bring it outside the Divine Dragon Sanctuary."

"..."

The Dragon God didn't immediately respond, but his eyes were wide with disbelief.

"T-that's your wish? You can have almost anything, you know?" The Dragon God almost couldn't believe how simple Yuan's wish was and had to double-check.

"I don't need anything else. I just need to borrow the Sacred Chalice of Purification," Yuan repeated.

"..."

The Dragon God fell silent again.

Sometime later, he sighed, "If that's your wish, so be it. However, rather than just letting you borrow it, I'll let you keep it. The Sacred Chalice of Purification is a powerful treasure that can remove almost any curse out there."

The Dragon God made a swift grasping motion toward a specific direction. Moments later, a beautiful golden chalice materialized in his hand, adorned with two lifelike dragons swimming around the cup.

He handed the treasure to Yuan the next moment.

[Sacred Chalice of Purification]

[Grade: Celestial]

[Quality: Peak]

[Description: A treasure of unknown origins. It has the power to remove almost all curses. Feed the chalice a drop of blood from the target to remove their curses.]

"Thank you." Yuan immediately tossed the chalice inside his spatial ring.

"Now that the Dragon God Festival is over, I would like to have a private word with you. It's related to the soul within that spear of yours." The Dragon God suddenly said.
