Chapter 1731 — Chapter 1731 Killing Li Jinx

The entire stadium became dead silent after Yuan killed Li Jinxi, most of it due to the system's interference, as Li Jinxi was a player.

Despite the notification, Yuan didn't budge an inch, almost as if he'd become a stone statue. However, if one were to look underneath his clothes, one would see his entire body covered in sweat.

'I accidentally killed her!' Yuan cried inwardly after his mind slowly comprehended the situation.

The Sword God's Apex Sword Art was a Celestial-rank technique, but Yuan figured Li Jinxi would be able to survive it even without the formation. Moreover, he'd only used a fraction of its power. Yet, the sword technique was much stronger than he'd anticipated, destroying the formation and killing Li Jinxi instantaneously.

He wanted to log off immediately and see if Li Jinxi was okay, but he was unable to do so.

After snapping out of his daze, Yuan turned to look at Kelan and hastily shouted, "I-it was an accident! I swear I didn't kill her on purpose!" However, Kelan didn't react, almost as if he couldn't hear Yuan's voice, seemingly shocked about something.

'That sword technique contained the power of the void! He's managed to comprehend the power of the void before reaching the age of thirty?! There's simply no way!' Kelan cried inwardly.

The power of the void was something humans have been trying to master since its existence was revealed to the cultivation world. However, not a single human has ever fully mastered the power of the void to this very day.

Although Yuan only displayed a slight understanding of such power, it was still more than what Kelan and many immortals could comprehend.

As for Yuan, he'd accidentally used the power of the void when using Sword God's Apex Sword Art because it felt natural, almost as if the technique was created to be used with the power of the void. Meanwhile, after dying to Yuan in Cultivation Online, Li Jinxi sat up on her bed with a dazed look on her face.

"I… died?" she subconsciously checked her body. A few seconds later, she sighed in relief.

'I didn't lose my ability to cultivate.'

Once she confirmed that the death didn't affect her cultivation, Li Jinxi immediately began thinking about the technique that killed her.

'That sword stance looked very familiar… I think…'

Her death had happened too fast, and she wasn't able to get a good look at Yuan's sword technique before she blacked out.

A few moments later, Li Jinxi could hear several pairs of footsteps running in the hallway, and they were all getting closer to her room.

Soon, her door was being knocked on.

"Sister Jinxi, are you okay?" Wang Bingbing's voice resounded.

Li Jinxi went to open the door to find Wang Bingbing, Wang Xiuying, and Meixiu standing outside her room.

"Yes, I am fine. The death didn't affect my cultivation," Li Jinxi nodded.

"I can't believe that man actually killed you! Wait until Yuan hears about this!" Wang Xiuying said.

"He said it was an accident, but who knows if he's telling the truth or not…" Meixiu sighed.

"At least you didn't lose your ability to cultivate, or that would've been disastrous." Wang Bingbing said.

Li Jinxi clenched her hands tightly into fists, and she muttered, "I didn't think I'd lose so miserably. I'm sorry for letting you all down."

"Why are you the one apologizing when everyone lost to him? That man could give even a monster like Yuan a run for his money." Wang Bingbing said.

"Speaking of Yuan, any news from him?"

Meixiu shook her head and said, "He was still asleep when I left the room just now."

"I see…"

Sometime later, everyone but Li Jinxi returned to Cultivation Online to see Yuan being confronted by Kelan.

"I boastfully claimed that nobody would die under my watch just a second before you killed Li Jinxi. I am both angry and ashamed—not for you but for myself. However, even if I was aware of your intentions, I would not have been able to stop that attack unless my understanding of the power of the void surpasses your understanding, which it does not."

"I didn't intend to kill her. Truly." Yuan sighed.

"I know, but since you're from the upper heavens, you should already know that you didn't really kill her."

"Still, it could affect her cultivation."

"Even if that's the case, there are methods to restore her ability to cultivate."

"What? Really?" Yuan was pleasantly surprised to hear this and inquired for more information.

"Just like how a crippled Dantian could be healed with treasures, there are methods to heal someone with a damaged soul. It'll be costly, but it's possible. In the case she lost her ability to cultivate due to a damaged soul, we—the Celestial Overlords— have the capability to heal her."

"I see. The Celestial Overlords are truly capable," Yuan said, relieved to learn that a player losing their ability to cultivate after death wasn't necessarily permanent.

"By the way, do you belong to a faction?" Kelan suddenly asked.

"...Are you trying to recruit me now?"

Kelan scratched his head in a somewhat awkward manner, "Well… I do, but I won't—because there will be someone even more amazing than me coming to recruit you soon."

"What? Can you elaborate?" Yuan asked in a puzzled tone.

Kelan scratched his head a little harder, seemingly perplexed about something.

"Ah! Forget it! Since we're already at this point, I might as well tell you now. One of the Celestial Overlords—the highest authority in our faction—will be coming down to personally recruit you soon."

"What…?" Yuan muttered in a dazed voice after hearing this.

"This person… is it Celestial Overlord Xu?" he couldn't help but ask.

"No, it's someone else. Why did you mention Celestial Overlord Xu? Do you know her?" Kelan asked with raised eyebrows.

Yuan sighed after realizing the trouble coming their way and said to him through voice transmission, "Hey, let's go somewhere private. I need to speak with you. Ah, bring the children you brought with you."

"Huh? Sure." Kelan casually nodded, not thinking much of Yuan's request.
