Chapter 1766 — Chapter 1766 Metal Tower(4)

Noticing the commotion between Yuan and the man, the nearby blacksmiths eventually approached them and asked, "What's going on here?"

"This bastard here is mocking us, blacksmiths! Listen to this—" the man proceeded to explain the whole situation to the others. Naturally, he spoke from his point of view, labeling Yuan as the bad guy.

"He most likely purchased those treasures from somewhere."

The blacksmiths frowned deeply as they learned of Yuan's actions. Most of them were Platinum-ranked blacksmiths, seasoned and proud of their craft. Yuan's actions were enough to provoke any blacksmith, let alone ones of their caliber—if they were true.

Seeing this, Yuan retrieved his Obsidian-rank badge and shoved it before them.

"T-that's an Obsidian badge!" the man stammered, his voice shaking with disbelief. "Only Divine Blacksmiths can qualify for that rank! Y-you're a Divine Blacksmith?! Why didn't you say so?!" His face, which had been full of scorn just moments ago, now bore a mix of shock and awe as he gazed at the badge that symbolized the rank he had long dreamed of achieving.

"Why didn't I say so? Why must I disclose such information to you when I'm trying to attract the Metal Tower's attention? Who do you think you are?" Yuan sneered.

The man's jaw dropped, speechless.

"Now that I have cleared up the misunderstanding, why don't we all return to our objective—acquiring the Metal Tower's attention?" Yuan sat behind his display and closed his eyes, seemingly entering cultivation.

The blacksmiths there looked at each other. After a moment of silence, they turned around and returned to their own spots.

The man beside Yuan quietly sat down and lowered his head, doing his best to avoid drawing any attention from Yuan, as if trying to make himself invisible.

Yuan's display quickly drew the attention of not only the shoppers but also the other blacksmiths on the first floor of the tower. In no time, a curious and growing crowd had gathered around his setup, intrigued by the treasures he had laid out.

"Do these beautiful treasures have names?" one curious shopper asked.

"No, they do not have a name."

"How long did it take you to craft such masterpieces?" one blacksmith asked.

"The Empyrean-grade treasure took about half a day, and the others only took several hours… in total."

"What?!" The blacksmiths exclaimed, looking like they'd just witnessed a ghost.

The crowd found it hard to believe that someone could craft six flawless treasures in a single day. However, the blacksmiths had already heard about Yuan's status as an Obsidian-ranked blacksmith, so they didn't dare to voice any doubts.

"Umm… Are any of these treasures for sale?" someone suddenly asked.

While most blacksmiths came to the tower not only to showcase their treasures but also to sell them, Yuan had no such intention. He had no need to sell his creations; his sole purpose was to use them as a means to attract the Metal Tower's attention.

After several days of sitting idly with no noticeable change, a sudden commotion erupted on the first floor, breaking the monotony and drawing everyone's attention.

"Someone from the Metal Tower is here, looking around! This is our chance!"

Upon hearing that someone from the tower had arrived, the blacksmiths immediately began tidying up their showcases, frantically trying to make their displays more presentable and impressive.

Meanwhile, Yuan remained seated, his eyes closed and his demeanor calm, as though the news held no significance to him.

At the same time, a handsome young man strolled through the first floor, dressed in an elegant black outfit adorned with a golden badge on his chest that read 'Metal'.

Everywhere he walked, people around him offered respectful stares, their admiration evident. The blacksmiths, in particular, had eyes that gleamed with hope and desperation, eager to catch even a moment of his attention.

Yet, not a single blacksmith dared to approach him, almost as if he was out of their reach.

The handsome man didn't stop walking until he was standing right before Yuan's display.

"Are you the one who recently became an Obsidian-rank blacksmith?" the young man asked.

"And you must be Lie Yan's friend."

The handsome man's eyebrows twitched slightly at Yuan's casual response, a hint of offense flashing across his face. He glanced at the weapons on display, his gaze lingering only briefly—just a fraction longer than a passing look—before sneering, "What a waste of time. I can't believe I came all the way down here for something so mediocre."

The handsome man's words shocked everyone there. Even Yuan raised an eyebrow at the man's abrupt aggression.

"Is that what you truly think?" Yuan asked the handsome man. "Did you even look at my treasures?"

The handsome man sneered, "Who are you to question my judgment? You're just a nobody who recently achieved the rank of Obsidian. Even the worst blacksmith in the tower can craft something a hundred times better than this crap."

Hearing this, Yuan sighed and said calmly, "It seems I've wasted my time here. If the Metal Tower is run by childish individuals who lack the discernment to recognize true craftsmanship, I'd rather invest my time at another tower."

As he spoke, Yuan packed up his treasures and prepared to leave.

The handsome man frowned, his eyes flickering with fury. "Hold it right there! Where do you think you're going? Do you really think you can mock me and just walk away like nothing happened?" he snapped, his voice sharp with indignation.

Yuan stopped and looked at the handsome man.

"Of course, unless you plan on stopping me."

Yuan retrieved Number One Under Heaven.

"T-that's—!?"

The blacksmiths gasped in shock upon seeing Number One Under Heaven, Yuan's masterpiece. Even the handsome man, despite his earlier attitude, couldn't help but fix his gaze on it. Unbeknownst to him, his expression shifted, his face now filled with awe and admiration.

"I guess you're not going to stop me, after all."

A moment later, Yuan casually stowed away Number One Under Heaven, leaving the blacksmiths around him in visible despair. It was as if a cherished toy had been snatched away from a child, their excitement instantly replaced with disappointment and longing.
