Chapter 1833 — Chapter 1833 Massacre in the Bamboo Garden

Despite being surrounded by hundreds of people, Yuan remained calm. He looked directly at Duan Qiao and spoke nonchalantly, "I knew you'd come back to cause trouble, but even I couldn't have anticipated it would be this soon."

"You can act calm all you want, but we all know you can't defeat so many of us by yourself!" Duan Qiao laughed out loud.

If Yuan had his original body, he would've definitely been able to defeat all of them—even 10,000 of them alone. However, his current body lacked the talent and abilities his original body possessed, so Duan Qiao was right. Even if Yuan was a cultivator and his opponents were mere mortals, he would not have the energy to defeat so many at once. Moreover, these mortals had vast experience as cultivators, and some had also started cultivating, so they were more powerful than ordinary mortals who had never cultivated before.

Fortunately, he didn't need to defeat all of them. Yuan was confident that he'd only need to kill some of them to scare away the rest. After all, no matter if one is a mortal or cultivator, everyone fears death.

"I will give everyone here a chance to walk away. Otherwise, don't blame my sword for not having eyes," said Yuan as he retrieved two swords from his spatial ring, wielding one in each hand.

These two swords were different from the ones acquired from the training hall. It was much sharper, even emitting a profound aura.

Even as mortals, the participants immediately recognized the swords as Spirit-grade treasures.

Yuan had purchased the swords shortly after buying his spatial ring, paying 50 points for each. Ever since Yuan noticed that he was drawing the attention of others, he became aware of the possibility that some might try to cause trouble for him. His rapid progress and success were bound to stir jealousy and ulterior motives among the participants.

"I knew something like this would happen, so I took the liberty to prepare myself beforehand. I will not hesitate to slay anyone who threatens me. You have three seconds to decide whether you want to die today or live to continue the trial."

Upon hearing Yuan's words, many participants left Duan Qiao's group—about 30 percent—as they were not willing to risk their lives. Moreover, even if they weren't part of the group, they would still benefit from Yuan's death if the others managed to defeat him.

Duan Qiao frowned upon seeing so many people leave the formation.

"You cowardly bastards! Don't think you'll get away scot-free! We'll take care of everyone that left once we take care of him!" Duan Qiao roared. Hearing this, some of the people who left returned to the formation. The rest were willing to take the risk.

"Your time is over. I'll start with you," Yuan spoke as he dashed at Duan Qiao, who was the closest to him.

Seeing the attack coming, Duan Qiao hastily raised the sword he had taken from the training hall to block Yuan's strike. However, Yuan's Spirit-grade sword effortlessly sliced through Duan Qiao's weapon before cutting one of his arms.

"Ahhh!" Duan Qiao screamed in pain as blood sprayed from his wound.

Yuan ignored his screaming and swung his other sword, decapitating Duan Qiao before the others could even react.

"N-noooo!!! Brother!!!" Duan Shuchun screamed in terror after seeing Duan Qiao being slain before her eyes. Duan Qiao's death jolted everyone out of their daze, and without hesitation, they began attacking Yuan with their weapons.

Yuan didn't hesitate to fight back, meeting the onslaught head-on. His superior strength, speed, and stamina gave him the edge, allowing him to overwhelm his opponents one by one with ease.

However, as formidable as Yuan was, he was still just one person facing hundreds. It was impossible to avoid injury entirely. Yet, through precise movements and calculated defense, he managed to keep his injuries superficial and non-life-threatening.

In just three minutes, Yuan had slayed over a hundred individuals, their corpses piling around him, making it harder for the others to get close, as well as messing with their movements.

After sustaining enough injuries, Yuan calmly retrieved a recovery pill he had purchased for 5 points each and consumed it. Within moments, his wounds began to heal, and his stamina was restored, leaving him revitalized and ready to continue the fight.

"T-that's ridiculous!" the participants exclaimed in disbelief, watching as Yuan recovered right before their eyes. Their hopes of overpowering him with numbers plummeted rapidly, replaced by a growing sense of despair and frustration.

"Don't worry, there's plenty where that came from!" Yuan laughed madly as he consumed another pill before he continued slaughtering everyone around him.

As the participants' morale plummeted, Yuan's momentum only grew stronger. His relentless attacks and growing killing intent overwhelmed them, and before long, the tide turned. One by one, the participants began to abandon the fight, retreating in fear and defeat, their initial confidence shattered.

"Where do you think you're going?!" Yuan shouted, his voice cold. "If you came to kill me, you'd better be prepared to face death yourself!"

Showing no mercy, Yuan pursued those attempting to flee, cutting down anyone who stood in his path.

"P-please! I came from the Ninth—"

"My Ye Family will not forgive if you—"

"Do you have any idea what you're doing—?!"

"Stop! Stop this madness!"

"We were wrong! Have mercy!"

Yuan showed no hesitation, cutting down his opponents without regard for their backgrounds or pleas. Like a relentless force of nature, reminiscent of his days as the Evil God, he swung his sword madly, each strike claiming a life.

By the time he stopped, over 90 percent of the group had been slaughtered, their bodies strewn across the area outside the living quarters. The ground was soaked with blood, forming a gruesome pond that bore witness to the carnage. The once-bustling space was now a haunting scene of silence and death.

"W-what in heaven's name happened here?!" Senior Zhou arrived at the scene just as Yuan ended his slaughter, his face filled with shock and terror.
