Chapter 1921 — 1921: Rescuing the Captives

The moment the Demon Worshippers retrieved their weapons, Yuan wasted no time attacking them. Coincidentally, the Demon Worshippers were also wielding swords, and they were bewildered when they failed to activate their swords' ability to block Yuan's attack, almost as if an unseen force had sealed their swords.

"Wha—?!"

"My sword?!"

Yuan took advantage of their brief moment of shock and landed two swift and seemingly non-lethal strikes.

At first, the Demon Worshippers didn't think much of the superficial injury they had received—a minor scratch at best. With a sneer, they quickly backed away from Yuan, unconcerned.

But mere moments later, their expressions began to change.

A strange stiffness crept through their limbs, slow at first, then rapidly intensifying. Their movements grew sluggish, their muscles locking up as an unnatural weight settled over their bodies.

Panic flickered in their eyes as they realized the truth. Their bodies were turning to stone—they were being sealed.

"T-This is—?!"

The two Demon Worshippers couldn't believe how quickly they had been defeated. And it was done by a mere Spirit Enlightenment cultivator. Yet, neither of them appeared too concerned for some reason.

They looked at Yuan and sneered coldly, "Don't think this is the end. You'll realize what a horrible mistake you've made so—"

"Our Master will not let this—"

Their sentence was interrupted when they were fully sealed.

After sealing the Demon Worshippers, Yuan went to help the captives by removing the black chains that suppressed their cultivation.

Meanwhile, Sun Ling Cai immediately began working on sealing the demon after disturbing its rest.

The demon didn't have any visible crystal on its outer appearance, meaning it was at least a Demon General. It also had the cultivation of a peak Immortal Ascension.

Sun Ling Cai was also at the peak of Immortal Ascension since that was the limit of the Sixth Heaven. Yet, she wasn't worried about her opponent being a Demon General.

Sun Ling Cai fought with an elegance that bordered on artistry, almost as if she were painting. Her massive brush moved through the air in fluid, sweeping strokes, each motion resembling the graceful flourish of a master painter.

But instead of ink and parchment, her canvas was the demon before her, and each stroke of the brush carried the weight of Demon Sealing Aura.

Unlike Yuan, whose Demon Sealing Aura was powerful enough to seal demons near his level in a single strike, Sun Ling Cai had to slowly accumulate it in the demon, slowly sealing it.

While Sun Ling Cai wasn't overwhelming her opponent, she wasn't pressured by the demon either and even had the leisure to speak while she fought it.

"You demons and your worshippers have been lurking in the shadows since the Demon Sealing Clan defeated most of the demons during the Demonic Era," Sun Ling Cai said coldly, her brush continuously striking the demon.

"What changed? Why are your worshippers suddenly acting so bold and brazen?"

The demon, despite slowly being sealed, smiled provocatively and responded in an amused tone, "A new era is coming."

"What?" Sun Ling Cai frowned at such ominous words. "Do you really think demons will rule the world again? How foolish! The only reason you demons even managed to rule humans during the Demonic Era was due to the massive casualties caused by the Heavenly War of Immortals and Gods that greatly diminished our population of powerhouses!"

"Our numbers are not only much greater than before, but our strength has also improved drastically since then—incomparably so! Meanwhile, all you demons have done since your defeat is hide and starve in the shadows!"

The demon laughed uncontrollably at Sun Ling Cai's words, which wasn't wrong. If the Heavenly War of Immortals and Gods hadn't claimed so many lives, humans might not have been enslaved by the demons.

Although demons are immortal, that immortality does not equate to limitless power. Like humans and beasts, demons require resources to grow—specifically flesh and blood, the raw essence of life. Without it, their strength stagnates and slowly decays.

Since the end of the Demonic Era, demons have been forced into hiding with few opportunities to feed or cultivate their strength. Meanwhile, humankind has flourished, building powerful sects, expanding across realms, and growing ever stronger with access to abundant spiritual resources.

"What you experienced and witnessed during the Demonic Era was only a fraction of our Demon Clan's true power!" the demon roared, its voice laced with hatred and madness.

"Soon, you livestock will learn what true fear is—and once again, you will live beneath our feet like the worms you are!"

Its eyes gleamed with a sinister light as it stepped forward, unfazed by the Demon Sealing Aura assaulting it.

"You may have defeated us back then, but it was only because of the Divine Paragon! Without him, you humans are nothing! Worthless insects!"

Then, its gaze narrowed on Sun Ling Cai and continued with a mocking sneer.

"And you so-called Demon Sealers... You've grown weak—so much weaker than before! Your end is coming... and this time, there will be no one to save you! Hahahaha…!"

A chilling laugh erupted from its throat right before it was fully sealed.

Although she had successfully sealed the demon, Sun Ling Cai felt no relief, no sense of victory or pride. If anything, a heavy unease settled over her heart.

She took a deep breath and sighed, "Whatever these bastards are up to, we'll definitely stop it!"

Meanwhile, moments before Sun Ling Cai sealed the demon.

"Everything will be fine now," Yuan said to the captives as he released them.

"W-What about the demon?" one of them asked.

"I came here with a Master Demon Sealer from the Demon Sealing Clan, and she's dealing with it now. There won't be any issue since there's only one of them."

"N-No!" The young lady's face exclaimed, her voice filled with horror. "There is more than one demon here!"

Just as Sun Ling Cai turned to leave, her body suddenly froze mid-step.

A new presence had emerged—not far from where she stood—and it was like a crushing wave of malice crashing down upon her senses.

Her instincts screamed in alarm. This wasn't just another demon. Its aura was unlike anything she had ever encountered. It was cold, suffocating, and utterly overwhelming, filled with a primordial hatred that seemed to rot the very air around it.

A chill ran down her spine.

Something terrifying had arrived.
