Chapter 1925 — 1925: Demon Devouring Sword
5 min read ·
"Did you know? The Demon Sealing Sword was once an ordinary sword that evolved through the demon blood it was constantly soaked in."
Yuan calmly revealed this information as he looked at the sword in his grasp. If it hadn't been protected by his Demon Sealing Aura, the Demon Sealing Sword would've most likely evolved into a cursed treasure instead.
'I need to run!'
At the sight of the Demon Sealing Sword, the Demon Emperor abandoned all thoughts of battle. Fear took hold, and it began desperately searching for a way to escape.
Yuan narrowed his eyes at the Demon Emperor, a grin tugging at his lips.
"That look… Trying to run again?"
The Demon Emperor's entire being trembled at his words, shock rippling through it. Instinct took over, and it bolted—only to crash against an invisible barrier. Yuan had activated the Demon Sealing Zone long before, silently trapping it within.
"HAHAHAHA!!!"
Yuan suddenly burst out laughing, his voice loud enough to shake the space around them.
"F-Founder…?" Startled, Sun Ling Cai's body jumped slightly.
"This is too hilarious! If only you had remained inside your hole after I allowed you to escape the last time, you wouldn't be in this situation, Demon Emperor! If you think you can escape from me a second time, think again!"
Yuan chased after the Demon Emperor with the Demon Devouring Sword in his grasp, its blade trembling from anticipation.
"Devour this coward!"
Yuan swung his sword from a distance. In the very next moment, the Demon Emperor's right arm vanished—erased from existence, as if devoured by an unseen force.
Normally, a wound like this would be meaningless to a demon, as their god-like regeneration would restore the damage in an instant. But this time, the Demon Emperor's arm remained gone, as if it had been erased from existence itself.
"Fuck! You goddamn bastard, Divine Paragon!" The Demon Emperor roared angrily. Knowing it could not escape, it decided to fight to the death instead and lunged at Yuan.
"That's more like it!"
[Dragon Transformation!]
Although Yuan activated Dragon Transformation to bridge the gap in cultivation, the Demon Emperor still held the advantage, remaining slightly faster and stronger than him. Fortunately, the Demon Emperor was missing a limb, and Yuan's regeneration rivaled demons.
Of course, Yuan's most significant advantage was his overwhelming Demon Sealing Aura, which greatly weakened the Demon Emperor's combat prowess. Without it, Yuan wouldn't have stood a chance against it, much less dominate it.
Meanwhile, Sun Ling Cai watched their clash with a dazed, almost dreamlike gaze. When she snapped out of it, she retrieved a blank scroll and her brush. Despite the lingering pain in her still-healing arms, she began to paint, capturing the battle unfolding before her.
'This is it! I was born to witness and paint this scene!'
Sun Ling Cai's eyes sparkled with fervor, her heart pounding, her blood ablaze. Every detail of the battle seared itself into her soul as she poured it all into her painting.
As Yuan and the Demon Emperor continued clashing, the sheer force of their battle grew overwhelming. The surrounding landscape began to crumble under the pressure, collapsing in on itself as their power tore through everything in its path.
Seeing the devastation unfold, Sun Ling Cai quickly used her spiritual energy to shield the captives from afar, even transporting them to safety. Yet she herself remained in the heart of the battlefield, unmoving—unwilling to miss a single moment, even if it meant risking her life to witness and capture history in the making.
"Stop toying with me, Divine Paragon!"
The Demon Emperor suddenly roared. It knew Yuan was only messing around since he hasn't used 'devour' again after the first one.
"Are you in that much of a hurry to die? Then allow me to fulfil your wish!"
[Devour!]
[Devour!]
[Devour!]
In the blink of an eye, the Demon Emperor's remaining limbs were devoured by the Demon Devouring Sword.
'What kind of ability is that?! Does it have no limit?!'
Sun Ling Cai swallowed hard, her nerves trembling at the Demon Devouring Sword's godlike power. She had believed herself well-versed in its history, having studied every record available. But witnessing it in action shattered that illusion. There was still so much the world didn't know about the Divine Paragon and his Demon Sealing Treasures.
"THIS ISN'T OVER YET, DIVINE PARAGON!"
Even with all its limbs erased from existence, the Demon Emperor refused to yield. Its mutilated form still radiated overwhelming menace and bloodlust. Hovering in the air, its body twisted unnaturally, and from its back, two massive, blood-soaked wings burst forth, beating with raw, defiant fury.
"ENDLESS SLAUGHTER!"
A crimson barrier, formed from blood and eerily reminiscent of Demon Emperor Carnage's Blood Sphere, suddenly materialized, encasing both Yuan and the Demon Emperor within its ominous glow.
However, before the barrier could fully form, Yuan slashed through it with ease, tearing it apart like fragile paper.
"What do you think you're doing?" he said coldly, his voice laced with offense. "That trick might've worked on other Demon Sealers, but who do you think you're facing? Are you looking down on me, you demon bastard?"
"You fucking monster…" The Demon Emperor gritted its teeth.
Yuan grinned at its words.
"Let me show you what a real monster looks like…"
With a single vertical slash, Yuan tore through the air, rending open a gap in space itself.
In the next moment, a figure emerged from the rift, its presence radiating an ominous aura eerily similar to the Demon Emperor's, heavy with malice and bloodlust.
Demon Emperor Slaughter's eyes widened in shock the moment it saw the figure. It wasn't just familiar—it was someone it had once fought alongside, a former comrade from an era long past.
"Demon Emperor Malice…" Demon Emperor Slaughter muttered in a dazed voice.
The presence Yuan had summoned with the Demon Devouring Sword was none other than Demon Emperor Malice, one of the Nine Demon Emperors he had slain during the Demonic Era.
