Chapter 1972 — 1972: The Mystic Sea Dragon Clan's Invasion(4)

"A trick, huh? Well, I guess it may seem like that to you."

After putting away his weapon, Yuan slowly approached the First Elder.

Seeing this, the First Elder hastily distanced himself from Yuan.

A profound light flickered within Yuan's eyes, and he spoke in a low but commanding tone, "Halt."

"?!?!"

The First Elder was greatly shocked when his body suddenly stopped listening to his commands and halted all movements.

"Get on your knees."

As if Yuan's words held dominion over his very soul, the First Elder dropped to his knees and knelt before him.

"W-What is going on?! What did you—"

"Shut up. You will only speak when given permission."

"??????"

The First Elder tried to speak, but not a single word escaped. His lips felt as heavy as a mountain, and even the act of opening his mouth was beyond him.

He frantically darted his gaze across the battlefield, desperate to see if anyone was witnessing this humiliation. But in the midst of the blood-soaked chaos, where every cultivator fought for their life, not a single soul noticed the silent, one-sided submission playing out between Yuan and the First Elder.

'What the hell is going on?! Why isn't my body listening to me?! Did he poison me again?! But when did he do it and how?!' The First Elder believed he was poisoned again, but he'd never experienced or heard of such a powerful poison.

"What's on your mind? Let me guess… Are you thinking that I'd poisoned you again?" Yuan suddenly spoke.

The First Elder's eyes widened with surprise at Yuan's words.

"So I'm right, huh? Well, fortunately for you, I didn't poison you."

The surprise on the First Elder's face turned to puzzlement after hearing this. If he wasn't poisoned, what could be the cause of this phenomenon?

"Since you're going to die soon, I'll let you in on a secret."

Yuan moved his lips near the First Elder's ears but spoke through voice transmission just in case, "I was lying when I said that I was Dragon Goddess Yeyou's envoy. In reality, I am the Immortal Monarch."

"?!?!?!"

The First Elder's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets from shock.

'The Immortal Monarch?! What kind of nonsense is he talking about?!'

However, as much as he wanted to deny it, it would explain why he was obeying Yuan's every command.

"Now… die for me."

Yuan wasted no time and commanded the First Elder to die.

The First Elder coughed up a mouthful of blood as he subconsciously destroyed his own heart.

However, although the First Elder's physical body died, his soul was still alive, and while his cultivation had dropped to the True Immortal realm, his soul was still at the God Ascension level.

Yuan knew he couldn't kill the First Elder so easily—nor did he care to try. Instead, he calmly retrieved Dragon God's Vengeance and, with a flick of his sleeves, forcefully cast the First Elder's soul into the weapon, leaving his fate to Dragon Goddess Yeyou.

The moment the soul was sealed within, Dragon God's Vengeance trembled violently, as though roaring in fury, echoing the wrath of the goddess within.

'I'll probably have an earful later…' Yuan swallowed nervously.

The trembling stopped a few moments later, and since the First Elder's soul hadn't been ejected from the weapon, it was clear what Dragon Goddess Yeyou did to him.

This made Yuan wonder if feeding the souls of powerhouses to Dragon Goddess Yeyou would help speed up her recovery.

'Let's think about this later.'

Yuan shifted his gaze to the rest of the battlefield, where thousands of mutilated corpses lay scattered amidst bloodstained waters, most of them belonging to the Mystic Sea Dragon Clan.

He thought about using the Immortal Monarch's powers to assist the Azure Dragon Clan, but it'd require a tremendous amount of energy to command so many powerful beings, and there was still the possibility of enemy reinforcements.

In the end, Yuan decided to just use his own strength for the time being.

With the Dragon God's Vengeance in his grasp, Yuan began attacking every single enemy fighter in sight, targeting mostly those within the Divine Realm since they were the easiest targets and were the most abundant.

After being targeted by Yuan, the poor Divine Realm experts stood no chance as all of them were killed within a single strike.

As the number of Yuan's victims increased, so did the strength of his weapon through its second unique ability.

Not only that, but he was slowly progressing his unique quest that required 100,000,000 kills. Unfortunately, he was still very far away from completing it.

After slaughtering thousands of Divine Realm experts from the Mystic Sea Dragon Clan's side, Yuan's presence could no longer be ignored, and he had finally drawn the gaze of the Immortal Realm cultivators.

However, the Immortals were far too prideful to lower themselves by engaging a mere Immortal Ascension realm human, one who had yet to even set foot into true immortality.

Thus, those who were also in the Immortal Ascension realm began attacking Yuan.

"Why don't you pick on someone that's on the same level as you instead of picking on the weak?!"

A peak Immortal Ascension shouted as he pounced at Yuan.

Yuan gave the Immortal Ascension expert a glance before using Shadow Veil, instantly disappearing from his opponent's view.

"What?! Where did he—"

Before the man could even finish his sentence, Yuan had already arrived behind him like a shadow to land a critical strike.

"Impossible…"

The man muttered his last words as Yuan brutally yanked the Dragon God's Vengeance from his corpse and watched as it slowly sank to the ocean floor.

"If you want to stop me, you'd better come at me with everything you've got!" Yuan laughed out loud as he continued slaughtering the Mystic Sea Dragon Clan's army.

"S-Somebody stop him!!!"

"Ahhh!"

The Mystic Sea Dragon Clan's army quickly descended into chaos, their formation crumbling under the weight of fear and confusion.
