Chapter 2046 — A True Freak

Chapter 2046: A True Freak

After defeating the final opponent and clearing the second trial, the Heavenly Son, Tian Yuexing, returned to the platform outside with a weary expression.

Though he had experienced battles that stretched for years without pause, none of them compared to the sheer strain and intensity of the past few months within the trial.

When Tian Yuexing returned to the platform, the first thing he did was glance around, searching for Yuan. After confirming he was alone, he lifted his gaze to the rankings above, hoping—perhaps even expecting—that he had finally surpassed him.

But the moment his eyes landed on the display, they widened in disbelief.

Yuan’s name still stood firmly above his own, now marked with 300 points, while his score remained at 190.

“Three hundred points?!” Tian Yuexing exclaimed aloud, his voice filled with disbelief.

“Does that mean he’s already completed the second and the third trial?!”

Realizing that the gap between him and Yuan had widened, Tian Yuexing immediately turned to look at the door to the third trial, and after a brief moment of hesitation, entered it without resting.

When his parents saw this, they could only shake their heads inwardly at his rash decision.

“Though he’s undoubtedly one of the most talented individuals in the Nine Heavens, he still lacks the patience his sister possesses,” remarked one of the Tian Family elders.

“What can we do? He’s too prideful for his own good sometimes,” another elder said with a sigh.

Meanwhile, Tian Jinhui, who had been quietly observing from one of the spectators’ islands, shook her head and let out a soft sigh.

“Will it kill you to stop comparing yourself to others?” she muttered. “You don’t have to be the best at everything.”

Ever since his birth, Tian Yuexing had been first in pretty much everything he did, as if he were destined to be number one. In his mind, not being number one meant something was wrong, and he would stop at nothing to correct it.

Of course, it wasn’t as though Tian Yuexing had never experienced defeat. It was just never at the hands of someone from his own generation.

“I’ve never seen the Heavenly Son acting like this before.”

“Probably because he’s never had to chase after someone this badly. It’s honestly quite refreshing.”

Those who had once been defeated by Tian Yuexing—or had long harbored envy toward his overwhelming talent—couldn’t help but rejoice at the sight of him finally being the inferior one.

Shortly after entering the third trial, Tian Yuexing encountered the Jade Sword Emperor.

However, unlike during Yuan’s trial, the Jade Sword Emperor now possessed the cultivation of a fourth-level God Ascension expert, one full level above Tian Yuexing, who was only at the third level.

Although being at the third level of God Ascension might not seem particularly impressive at first glance—especially for the number one genius in the Nine Heavens—one had to consider Tian Yuexing’s age. He was still under a hundred thousand years old, making his cultivation level nothing short of extraordinary.

At birth, Tian Yuexing’s cultivation was already at the Immortal Ascension Realm. It took him less than a thousand years to step into immortality, and before reaching ten thousand years of age, he had already ascended to the True Immortal Realm.

As for the other participants, they were all only at the first level of God Ascension realm while being older than Tian Yuexing.

“That appearance… You must be the Jade Sword Emperor!” Tian Yuexing exclaimed, a glint of excitement in his eyes. “If I weren’t in a hurry, I’d relish the chance for a proper duel!”

Without wasting another moment, he unleashed his full power right from the start.

Though he lagged behind Yuan in the Sword Emperor Qualifications, Tian Yuexing was a true prodigy, hailed as the number one genius of the Nine Heavens for good reason.

During his battle with the Jade Sword Emperor, he reminded everyone of exactly why he held that title, defeating his opponent decisively in just a few days.

Yet, when the audience compared his performance to Yuan’s—who had defeated the Jade Sword Emperor in just a few strikes—Tian Yuexing’s victory, while impressive, no longer seemed extraordinary.

While Tian Yuexing continued to chase after him with everything he had, Yuan had already advanced his Supreme Sword Aura again—this time, in even less time than before.

“What?! He’s improved his Supreme Sword Aura already?!” The spectators had to do a double-take when they saw Yuan ascending the mountain again.

“How did it take him even less time to improve this time?! Shouldn’t it take even longer than before?! It doesn’t make any sense!”

“A freak! He’s a true freak!”

“Good heavens… I’d do anything for his genes…” one of the female spectators suddenly muttered, drawing startled stares from those around her.

Yet, no one could truly blame her. After all, who in their right mind would refuse the chance to bear the child of a once-in-a-lifetime genius?

Forget about the females. Even the males there wouldn’t mind if they could give birth.

After taking just a few more steps, Yuan came to a halt once again.

Now, he stood mere steps away from the mountain’s peak. The summit was within sight, yet still just barely out of reach.

While Yuan continued refining his Supreme Sword Aura with steady progress, the Heavenly Son found himself struggling.

Having expended too much energy early on in an attempt to rush through the trial, he was now forced to slow down, and he had only defeated six opponents so far.

As for the other participants, aside from the Holy Sword King and the Holy Sword Maiden, they were hardly worth mentioning. In fact, the spectators had long since lost interest in them, their attention wholly consumed by Yuan and the Heavenly Son.

At the Tian Family, Tian Yuexing’s father, who had been sitting down since the beginning of the Sword Emperor Qualifications, suddenly stood up and left his seat.

“My lord, where are you going?” one of the elders asked.

Without turning around, he spoke as he walked toward the exit, “The Seventh Heaven.”
