Chapter 2051 — Sword Emperor Qualifications' Final Trial(2)

Chapter 2051: Sword Emperor Qualifications’ Final Trial(2)

A week had passed since Yuan entered the Endless Pagoda, and he had already ascended to the 90th floor.

From the 60th floor onward, his opponents were Golden Immortals, and it wasn’t until the 90th floor that he finally faced a True Immortal.

The spectators expected him to struggle against a True Immortal. Yet, to their utter shock and disbelief, Yuan defeated his opponent with ease.

“How is this possible?! Where is his power coming from?!”

For many, this was their first time witnessing a mortal defeat an immortal, let alone a True Immortal.

“Daughter, do you think you could’ve defeated a True Immortal when you were still in the Immortal Ascension Realm?” Madam Jun asked, her gaze fixed on the display.

The young woman beside her remained silent for a moment before replying, “I never had the chance to face an Immortal back then, so it’s hard to say. But even if I could’ve won, it wouldn’t have been an easy fight. That’s for sure.”

“And yet, this ‘nobody’ can defeat True Immortals with ease? I’m truly curious about his background now. I wonder which hidden family he belongs to…”

Madam Jun narrowed her eyes slightly. In her experience, when prodigies appeared out of nowhere like ghosts, they almost always hail from one of the many hidden families in the Ninth Heaven.

A few days later, Yuan arrived at the 100th floor. However, his opponent was still at True Immortal, albeit much stronger than the one on the 90th floor.

“Heavens… he’s already on the 100th floor. That’s already twice as much as my earlier prediction…” Kelan muttered with a dumbfounded expression on his face.

“The Heavenly Son is only on the 40th floor. That’s quite the difference,” remarked Wang Ming.

“So, what were you saying about Yuan only being top 10 amongst the younger generation?” Chu Liuxiang said, glaring at Kelan.

Kelan awkwardly cleared his throat before responding, “Fine, I underestimated him a little, but can you really blame me? I’ve known the others for far longer than I’ve known Yuan, and while he’s definitely impressive, he doesn’t have any achievements.”

At the Holy Sword Clan’s area, the Sixth Elder spoke, “We have to recruit him into our faction no matter the cost. He’s too talented for us to ignore.”

The silver-haired Sword Emperor sighed, “Do you have any idea how many others are thinking the same thing? It’s not going to be an easy fight. In fact, it might become a bloodbath.”

“We have the upper hand because we already have a connection with him,” said Sword Empress Huang.

As the days passed, more and more people gathered at the Gates of Heaven to witness Yuan’s relentless ascent through the Endless Pagoda—many of them hoping to recruit him once it was over.

By the end of the second week, Yuan had already reached the 199th floor, while Tian Yuexing lagged far behind on the 50th—only a quarter of Yuan’s progress.

“Is the Endless Pagoda truly endless? Surely, there must be an end, like the mountain from the last trial,” someone wondered out loud.

“The Endless Pagoda is clearly inspired by the Heaven’s Thousand Trials. If it’s like the real thing, there should be 1,000 floors in total.”

“A thousand floors…? I doubt it. There would be no point since nobody would be able to finish it.”

“Right? The Endless Pagoda is clearly more difficult than Heaven’s Thousand Trials, which has existed for millions of years and has been challenged by countless cultivators. Yet the record is only 600 floors.”

“Hm? Look! He’s reached the 200th floor—and something’s different!” one of the spectators suddenly exclaimed.

At once, all eyes turned to Yuan’s screen.

Sure enough, the 200th floor stood apart from the rest.

Yuan’s opponent was no longer a vague, shadowy figure but a masked man. At first glance, he looked oddly familiar, and then the realization struck the crowd like thunder.

“It’s the Faceless Sword Emperor!”

When Yuan saw the Faceless Sword Emperor, he smiled faintly and muttered, “So this place isn’t endless after all.”

Not only was his final opponent the legendary Faceless Sword Emperor himself, but his cultivation had also reached the first level of God Ascension.

“Asking a mortal to fight a god… this is too much.” Yuan shook his head.

Moments after his appearance, the Faceless Sword Emperor lunged at Yuan, a silver sword flashing in his grasp.

Yuan didn’t dare to underestimate his opponent and fought with caution.

When their swords clashed, Yuan was pushed back for the first time since he began the trial. Though both wielded perfected Supreme Sword Aura, the Faceless Sword Emperor’s higher cultivation gave him the upper hand, just enough to overpower Yuan slightly.

Despite losing the first exchange, Yuan remained calm and struck back without hesitation.

Yet with each clash, he was steadily pushed back, narrowly losing to the Faceless Sword Emperor time and again.

Seeing this, the audience began to believe that Yuan stood no chance against the Faceless Sword Emperor—that it was only a matter of time before he was defeated.

Of course, Yuan didn’t think he’d lose. If anything, he was pretty confident that he’d be able to win.

“So you can’t use Celestial Qi, huh? In that case, you stand no chance.”

Realizing that the Faceless Sword Emperor couldn’t use Celestial Qi, Yuan felt no fear. He continued the battle calmly, gradually increasing his strength over time.

Before long, Yuan was no longer the one being pushed back, and he was the one driving the Faceless Sword Emperor backward.

“What?! How is he still getting stronger?!”

Shock rippled through the crowd as Yuan reversed the momentum in an instant, leaving everyone speechless.

Of course, it didn’t take long for them to realize that Yuan had never been fighting at full strength. No… even now, they couldn’t be certain he was using everything he had.

Two days and tens of thousands of exchanges later, Yuan defeated the Faceless Sword Emperor, clearing the 200th floor.
