Chapter 2053: Sword Emperor Yuan
Sometime later, Senior Bai said to Yuan out loud, “Normally, we’d have a ceremony for the new Sword Emperors, but as you can see, the other participants are still nowhere near done, so we’ll have to postpone it until every participant is finished.”
“Do I have to participate in this ceremony?” Yuan asked with raised eyebrows, as it sounded like a hassle.
“While we can’t force you, it should be noted that every Sword Emperor before you has participated in the ceremony,” said Senior Bai.
“I’ll think about it,” Yuan said.
Senior Bai then retrieved the Mystic Sword Tablet and handed it to him.
“This is your reward for ranking first place. Once again, congratulations, Sword Emperor Yuan.”
Since Yuan had completed the final trial with a perfect score, Tian Yuexing was guaranteed to take second place, regardless of whether he managed to clear all 200 floors or not.
“Thank you.” Yuan tossed the Mystic Sword Tablet into his spatial ring without even looking at it.
But before he could do anything else, another figure stepped forward.
“I’m allowed to approach you as long as I’m not trying to recruit you, right?” the man asked with a faint smile.
Yuan turned to face him and said calmly, “If you’re here to ask about the Mystic Sword Tablet, I don’t have time for that right now. That said, I don’t intend to keep it for myself forever. Once I’ve finished studying it, I’ll make sure everyone has a chance to examine it as well.”
Hearing this, the man’s smile widened, and a wave of relief spread through the crowd.
Many of the swordmasters had been silently wondering the same thing ever since the tablet appeared.
“Then I won’t bother you any longer.”
Satisfied with Yuan’s response, the man turned around and flew away.
“Where are you going to go now?” Senior Bai asked Yuan shortly after.
He responded through voice transmission, “I’ll stay in the Myriad of Techniques for a while first. Can you let the others know for me?”
“Sure.”
“Thank you.”
Yuan activated Shadow Veil the next moment, and before anyone could react, he vanished like a ghost beneath their very eyes.
“Where did he go?!” someone in the audience exclaimed, eyes darting around in confusion.
Several individuals had planned to follow Yuan the moment he left, but he didn’t even give them the chance.
After leaving the platform, Yuan entered the Myriad of Techniques and waited for the others to arrive.
Meanwhile, Senior Bai relayed Yuan’s location to Kelan.
“Do you guys want to continue watching?” Kelan asked the others.
“What’s the point?”
They all shook their heads.
“Then let’s go see him,” Kelan said as he stood up.
Thus, they quietly left to meet Yuan.
Some time later, they arrived at the Myriad of Techniques.
“Congratulations on your new title, Sword Emperor Yuan.”
They congratulated him the moment they met.
“What did you think of the Sword Emperor Qualifications? Was it as easy as you made it look?” Wang Ming asked.
Yuan chuckled and said, “While it wasn’t easy, it definitely wasn’t as difficult as I was expecting. I had more trouble training at the Holy Sword Temple, if I have to be honest.”
“As expected from the Freak Sword Emperor,” Shi Lang spoke in a teasing voice.
“Freak Sword Emperor?” Yuan raised his eyebrows at this unfamiliar nickname.
“That’s what the others are calling you,” explained Li Jinxi.
“Because you’re a freak,” Wang Bingbing elaborated.
After chatting for a bit, Yuan said, “Can one of you let Yu Rou know that I have returned so that we can spend some time together before I leave again?”
“I can do that, but where will you be going next?” Meixiu asked.
With a serious look on his face, he spoke, “The Primordial Realm.”
“The Primordial Realm? Isn’t that where Xiao Hua is from?”
He nodded and continued, “She hasn’t woken up once in several years. I’m worried about her.”
“W-Wait a second. The Primordial Realm? What are you talking about? That’s not a place you can enter whenever you want,” Kelan said after hearing Yuan’s plans.
“I am aware,” said Yuan, and he proceeded to explain Xiao Hua’s situation to him.
“I understand your situation, but not only does the Primordial Realm house some of the most dangerous criminals within the Nine Heavens, you’ll definitely become a wanted criminal if you try to enter without the Celestial Emperor’s permission,” Kelan said afterward.
“Permission from the Celestial Emperor? That’s definitely not possible. Regardless, I am already targeted by him, so it won’t make any difference.”
“It makes a huge difference! If you do something that reckless, not even Celestial Overlord Xu can protect you!” Kelan exclaimed with a deep frown on his face.
“In any case, don’t even think about approaching the Primordial Realm because I’ll stop you with everything I’ve got!” Kelan declared firmly.
Yuan didn’t blame him. He understood that Kelan was only trying to protect him. Unfortunately, he was fated to enter the Primordial Realm.
“Fine, I’ll give up on the Primordial Realm—for now,” Yuan said, raising his hands in a gesture of surrender.
“Good. As for your Exile friend, I’ll find an expert to treat her,” Kelan replied, his tone softening.
Yuan nodded calmly.
But in truth, he had no intention of giving up.
No matter what he said on the surface, his resolve remained unchanged.
A few days later, Yu Rou visited the Myriad of Techniques, and the two of them started catching up with each other.
Meanwhile, the Demon Sealing Faction members returned to the Super Perfect Physique Tempering Sect with Kelan to continue their training.
Time flew by, and in the blink of an eye, two months had passed since Yuan earned the title of Sword Emperor.
The Sword Emperor Qualifications were still underway, with every participant—except for the Heavenly Son—still struggling to clear the second trial.
As for Tian Yuexing, he had managed to push his way up to the 84th floor of the Endless Pagoda. Though it was taking him longer and longer to clear each floor, it was clear to the spectators that he wasn’t close to his limit, and they wondered how long it would take him to finish.
