Chapter 2056 — Returning to the Stairway to Heaven

Chapter 2056: Returning to the Stairway to Heaven

“The trial for the Seventh Heaven and the Eighth Heaven, correct? We can do that.” Tian’er nodded.

“Would you like to start now?”

“Let’s.”

Shortly later, Yuan began his trial, which was supposed to be meant for the Seventh Heaven.

When the trial began, Yuan found himself in an unusual location. He was not in the wilderness or a city. Instead, he was surrounded by the void with countless stars flickering in the distance.

He was outside the Nine Heavens in the Starry Sky.

“I have to survive for a whole year?” Yuan raised his eyebrows after seeing the trial.

The very next moment, before he could even start to ponder, Yuan sensed hundreds of powerful presences appearing behind him.

When he turned around, he could see an army of people chasing after him. However, most of their cultivation was between Bronze Immortal and Silver Immortal, with a few Golden Immortals.

Seeing this, the thought of escaping didn’t even cross Yuan’s mind. Wielding Number One Under Heaven in his grasp, he charged at the incoming army of cultivators with a calm smile on his face, looking like he was going on a stroll in the park.

However, Yuan didn’t just fight normally. He fought while training at the same time, fusing his Supreme Sword Aura with his body and slowly inching toward attaining the Supreme Sword Body.

After slaying all of the cultivators, Yuan was given two hours of rest before another wave of enemies appeared, their numbers increased compared to the first wave.

This reminded Yuan of the Sword Emperor Qualifications, which tested his endurance and ability to overcome a large number of enemies at once.

Meanwhile, as Yuan remained inside the Stairway to Heaven, Meixiu and the others prepared to leave Kelan’s sect to gain experience outside.

Although Kelan wanted to follow them, he had other responsibilities as the Sect Leader, and he’d already pushed back some just training them. Of course, he wasn’t going to let them travel alone, and for their safety, had several experts watch them from a distance.

These experts were not allowed to intervene with their training unless their lives were in danger.

Also, since their group was a little big, they decided to split up into smaller groups.

For the first group, Meixiu, Chu Liuxiang, and Li Jinxi were together.

For the second group, it was Wang Ming, Wang Bingbing, and Xi Murong.

The third group had Shi Lang, Wu Zao, and Hong Xiuquan.

The fourth and final group consisted of Xi Meili, Liya, and Wang Xiuying.

After splitting into four smaller groups, they wandered the Seventh Heaven separately, experiencing their own journeys.

Four months later, at the Gates of Heaven, the Holy Sword Maiden finally finished her second trial and returned to the platform.

When she looked at the ranking, her eyes widened with shock.

“900 points?! What did he do to acquire so many points?!” The Holy Sword Maiden muttered in a dumbfounded voice, completely unaware that Yuan had long passed the Sword Emperor Qualifications and earned his title as Sword Emperor.

After realizing that she had no chance of catching up, the Holy Sword Maiden didn’t immediately rush to the third trial. Instead, she sat down and used what little time she had to rest.

Seven days later, just as the Holy Sword Maiden entered the third trial, the Holy Sword King finished his trial and returned to the platform.

He was just as bewildered as the Holy Sword Maiden when he saw the ranking, but he also felt much more irritated.

‘Is the difference between us this vast…? Just who the hell did I challenge?’ The Holy Sword King felt embarrassed just recalling how he’d challenged Yuan.

Instead of resting like the Holy Sword Maiden, the Holy Sword King immediately went into the third trial.

As for the Heavenly Son, he’d managed to pass the 110th floor of the Endless Pagoda. While he was still climbing, the time it took to pass each floor increased with every floor.

After another four months, Yuan completed his trial after defeating over 100,000 Immortals.

A glowing orb of light appeared before him.

After consuming the orb, Yuan recalled more memories of his past lives.

“Congratulations on passing the trial for the Seventh Heaven,” said Tian’er.

“Hm? That was it?”

Tian’er nodded and said, “Master, you’ve already reached the point where the trials won’t be much of a challenge. It’d only be a waste of time to give you more.”

“Is that so? Then let’s start the trial for the Eighth Heaven,” said Yuan.

Moments later, the scenery shifted as Yuan began his trial for the Eighth Heaven.

“This place…”

The landscape, the structure—it all felt strikingly familiar. Yuan’s gaze settled on the towering mountain ahead, its spiraling path coiling upward like a serpent. It was none other than Dragon Spiral Mountain.

“Ten years to defeat my opponent?” Yuan raised an eyebrow at this seemingly generous amount of time.

However, in the very next moment, Yuan sensed an unfathomable pressure descend upon Dragon Spiral Mountain, causing the air around him to tremble.

When he looked up, he saw a half-naked, strikingly handsome man hovering above Dragon Spiral Mountain, his long golden hair flowing behind him like a river of light.

“The Great One…” Yuan mumbled, recognizing this man almost instantly.

“Immortal Monarch!” the Great One suddenly declared, his voice thundering like a lightning strike. “I have come to defeat you and to claim Dragon Goddess Yeyou! A human like you is not worthy of her!”
