Chapter 2065 — Refining the Primordial Phoenix’s Blood Essence

After absorbing the Primordial Phoenix’s Blood Essence, time seemed to slow to a standstill for Yuan as he was consumed by endless, indescribable pain.

Minutes turned into hours, and hours into days, yet the invisible flames continued to burn Yuan relentlessly, showing no sign of fading anytime soon.

Even worse, the pain from the invisible flames only grew more intense with each passing moment.

Two weeks later, the invisible flames had spread across the entire world, engulfing it completely and causing the very fabric of space to warp and ripple without end. Yet, the trees appeared completely fine, as if the flames didn’t even exist.

As for Yuan, he had stopped screaming, but that didn’t mean the pain had vanished. Even as his tolerance grew, the strength of the invisible flames always outpaced it by just enough to keep him in constant, unrelenting agony.

Suddenly—

Ding!

Though it may seem like Yuan had achieved Fire Harmony, that was not the case, and he was only able to absorb flames and turn them into his power because of his physique. This meant that his fire resistance still had considerable room to grow.

After attaining True Fire Immunity, Yuan managed to endure the invisible flames with slightly more ease, though only for a moment. Almost as if it were sentient and realized it was no longer as effective as before, the flames suddenly surged in power.

Though it was painful, Yuan actually preferred it this way since it meant his fire immunity wouldn’t slow down its progress.

Then, after another month, Yuan achieved Fire Harmony.

Then, after another three months, his fire immunity improved again.

Upon attaining Perfect Fire Harmony, the invisible flames lost their power over Yuan. They could no longer inflict pain on him, finally bringing an end to his relentless torment.

However, this didn’t mean he was finished absorbing the Primordial Phoenix’s Blood Essence. In truth, he was only just beginning—the ordeal so far had merely been a test to determine if he was worthy.

Unlike when he consumed the Dragon God’s Blood Essence, Yuan was strong enough to refine the Primordial Phoenix’s Blood Essence without any assistance. However, it would take some time.

After an entire year of relentless refinement, Yuan finally succeeded in fully absorbing the Primordial Phoenix’s Blood Essence.

[True Primordial Fire]

[Rank: ???]

[Mastery Level: 1]

[A unique flame possessed only by the Primordial Phoenix—completely invisible to the eye, yet so destructive it can burn through reality itself.]

The instant his physique evolved, Yuan’s cultivation—which had been bottlenecked at the peak of Bronze Immortal—immediately surged to the next level, elevating him to Silver Immortal. But it didn’t stop there, and his cultivation continued to soar until it reached the peak of Silver Immortal in one go.

Shortly after finishing the refinement of the blood essence, Yuan activated True Phoenix Awakening to test its power.

Instantly, his long black hair turned a brilliant crimson and ignited with flickering flames, while his eyes gleamed a radiant gold. His appearance now bore an uncanny resemblance to Feng Yuxiang’s when she uses her phoenix powers.

It wasn’t just his appearance—his aura, and even his scent, became indistinguishable from that of a true phoenix, as if he had truly transformed into one.

Yuan raised his arm and activated the True Primordial Fire. Instantly, invisible flames surged forth like a tidal wave, engulfing everything in front of him.

"Not bad," he murmured, clearly satisfied with the results. Now, he could easily pass himself off as a true phoenix.

He retrieved the Ancient Phoenix Robe a moment later and wore it without any issues. Even if it didn’t recognize him as a phoenix, its curse wouldn’t have any effect on his Perfect Fire Harmony.

Sometime later, Yuan emerged from the Immortal Cave to reunite with Feng Yuxiang, who had been standing watch outside the entire time.

"Y-Young Master...?" Feng Yuxiang’s eyes widened, her mouth slightly agape as she stared at Yuan, still clad in his phoenix form.

Unbeknownst to her, a soft flush of red had already spread across her cheeks.

"What do you think?" Yuan asked, a calm smile on his face.

"..."

But Feng Yuxiang couldn’t respond, as she was utterly speechless. She had always believed Yuan was perfect, yet seeing him in his phoenix form and wearing the Ancient Phoenix Robe felt like witnessing an entirely new, breathtaking side of him.

A sudden tingling sensation ran through her body, sending an involuntary shiver down her spine. The last time she had felt something like this was when she had used her hands to assist Yuan, but now, just his scent alone was enough to arouse her.

However, Feng Yuxiang quickly snapped herself out of her daze by forcefully slapping her own cheeks, just as one might do to jolt oneself awake.

"C-Congratulations, Young Master. If I were seeing you for the first time, I wouldn’t have been able to tell you’re actually human and not a true phoenix," she said.

"If even you can’t tell the difference, then fooling everyone else should be easy," Yuan said with a faint smile. "Anyway, thank you for the blood essence, Feng Feng. If there’s anything you need, I’ll do my best to make it happen."

Still feeling a bit dazed, Feng Yuxiang silently nodded.

Sometime later, Feng Yuxiang and Yuan departed from the volcano and set out on their journey toward the Rising Phoenix Clan.
