Chapter 2195 — Chapter 2195 Auction for the Spirit Stone(2)
5 min read ·
Yuan smiled at Chen Cheng's words and said, "I appreciate your concern, but the Chaotic Sect is nothing in my eyes."
"Nothing… in your eyes?" Chen Cheng swallowed nervously. In his mind, only someone from the Asura Clan would dare speak with such arrogance. 'Is he actually from the Asura Clan? But then why would he need information on the Spirit Tree? No, let's stop thinking about this. It's beyond me.'
After a moment of hesitation, Chen Cheng said, "The Chaos Elders intend to take care of you after the auction. Please be careful."
He gave a swift bow to Yuan before walking toward the exit.
"Thanks for the information," Yuan said as Chen Cheng left the room.
Sometime later, Chen Cheng appeared on the stage to begin the auction.
"Welcome or welcome back, esteemed guests, to the Chaos' Auction House. I am Chen Cheng, an appraiser, and just like last week's auction, I was tasked with today's auction."
He proceeded to give the same speech as last week, going through the rules and whatnot.
"Now, without further ado, let us begin this week's auction."
"For the first item, we have a rare Divine-grade sword. Its name is Bloody Enlightenment, and it was once wielded by the Mad Bloodhound."
Yuan raised an eyebrow when he saw the item being auctioned.
"They're selling a Divine-grade sword for the first time? I guess they decided to bring out all of the good stuff for the guests today," he remarked.
Since most of the guests at the auction were cultivators, there was no sense in offering items meant for mortals. Besides, with the Spirit Stone so highly anticipated, everyone present was guaranteed to have deep pockets.
"A hundred million!"
"A hundred fifty million!"
In the blink of an eye, the item was sold for 210 million small Chaos Coins. Though spiritual treasures required spiritual energy to unleash their full potential, they remained incomparably more durable than ordinary weapons, granting their wielder a tremendous advantage over those without one. For this reason, they were still highly sought after and expensive.
Of course, they also served as symbols of status and power.
The next several items were also spiritual treasures, and each was better than the last.
Sometime later, it was finally time for the spirit stone to be auctioned.
"And now, the moment you've all been waiting for—"
With a flourish, Chen Cheng pulled away the cloth covering the display case, revealing the spirit stone within. Though it appeared far less impressive than the treasures auctioned before it, the instant it was unveiled, every guest's eyes lit up with awe and excitement.
"It's really a spirit stone! We haven't seen one of those since they were all used up long ago!"
"If I had that spirit stone, my son would be able to cultivate! I must get my hands on it even if I have to go into debt!"
Chen Cheng went on, "Before we begin the bidding, allow me to introduce today's item. As you all surely know, a spirit stone is a cultivation resource brimming with spiritual energy. While such stones are plentiful in the outside world, within the Primordial Realm, one has not been seen for millions of years since they've all been used."
"A spirit stone never decays nor loses its potency, so there is no need to rush in using it."
"Now then, the auction will begin at two hundred million—"
"One billion!"
Someone swiftly bid for the spirit stone before Chen Cheng could even finish, which started a chain reaction.
"One billion and a hundred million!"
"One billion and two hundred million!"
In the blink of an eye, the bidding for the spirit stone soared to an astounding one billion, five hundred million.
"Heavens… I knew it was going to be a fierce competition, but to think it'd reach a billion at the very start…"
"The Chaotic Sect is especially fierce today."
The next several items were also spiritual treasures, and each was better than the last.
Sometime later, it was finally time for the spirit stone to be auctioned.
"Who do you think will win in the end?"
"Surely, it must be the Inferno Alchemists, right? They're the wealthiest faction in the world."
"But they have the most access to the Spirit Tree, so they're not really starved for spiritual energy."
"So it's a fight between the Chaotic Sect and the Zhao Family, huh?"
"The Zhao Family will likely win the auction since they have more money than the Chaotic Sect."
Most had expected the Zhao Family to claim victory, yet by the end, all were left speechless when the Chaotic Sect secured the spirit stone with a bid of eleven billion.
"Eleven billion? That's insane! Do they even have that much money?"
Unbeknownst to the crowd, the Chaotic Sect would not have hesitated to pay even more—for they knew they would soon reclaim their wealth regardless.
"And with that, today's auction comes to an end. We look forward to seeing you all at the next—" Chen Cheng began.
"Wait! Who is the owner of the spirit stone? I would like to speak with them!" Someone from the crowd suddenly interrupted.
"Me too! I would also like to speak to the seller!"
The place quickly filled with people wanting to meet Yuan.
"I-I'm sorry, but the seller wishes their identity to remain a secret—"
But before he could finish, the doors to the auction hall burst open, and a figure strode inside, declaring, "I am the owner of that spirit stone."
"What?"
Everyone in the room turned their heads to look at Yuan, who'd just entered the room.
"Who is that?"
"I don't recognize him, either."
Chen Cheng stared at Yuan with wide eyes.
"Who are you? And can you prove that you are the seller?" someone suddenly asked.
Yuan calmly nodded.
"Of course."
He proceeded to reach inside his pocket and retrieved another spirit stone.
"Heavens! He has another spirit stone!"
While the crowd erupted with excitement at the appearance of a second spirit stone, the auction's winners wore twisted expressions—ugly, as though they had just swallowed a live fly.
They turned to glare at Chen Cheng, who noticed it and quickly shook his head, as if trying to say he didn't know anything about a second spirit stone.
