Chapter 2312 — Chapter 2312 Leaving Kulas Behind

"Am I… that untrustworthy?" Tian Yang looked at Kulas with a saddened face.

"N-No! That's not it!" Kulas immediately responded, his voice full of pain. "You know there's no one I trust more than you in this world. However, I didn't want to trouble you—harm you with my knowledge."

"If you're worried that my longevity might be in jeopardy, then it was needless worry. In fact, you should've known that I was aware of their existence when I mentioned that I learned of forbidden knowledge that cannot be shared in Han Zexian's tomb."

Kulas sighed, "Indeed, I have considered that possibility. But I wasn't certain, nor did I want to risk it. Moreover, that's not what truly worried me. The Eternal helping me… I was worried that he might try to harm you."

"Well, now that I know everything—almost everything, care to fill in the gaps for me?" Tian Yang asked.

Kulas nodded and explained, "I learned of the communication technique hidden within the Great Mammoth Body Refinement while I was still inside the Immortal Confinement Dungeon, and I tried it out as a last-ditch effort. That's when I met the Eternal, who introduced himself as Zaaran. I pleaded with him for help, and he agreed but under one condition—that I must find something for him."

"Since it was my darkest time and I was desperate, I accepted Zaaran's terms. In return, he bestowed upon me a gift—my bloodline that allowed for the creation of the Giant Race. Then, under his instructions, I started building my own empire within the continent."

Tian Yang then asked, "What did Zaaran want you to find for him?"

He remembered that Shura also wanted him to find something when he asked him to help Kulas, but refused to tell him because he wasn't prepared to hear it.

"Honestly, I still have no idea what Zaaran wants me to find. He said that he'll tell me once I'm strong enough, when I reach the next realm. Oh, he was also the one who told me about Celestial Qi, even giving me a cultivation technique to cultivate it."

Kulas sighed loudly before continuing, "I know it's a little late, but I apologize for lying. I didn't actually discovery Celestial Qi myself, and I kept the technique to myself because I didn't want you to be suspicious of me."

Hearing this, Tian Yang began to doubt Shura even more. After all, Shura appeared to share the same goal as Zaaran, and for all he knew, the two might even be working together.

However, why would Shura give him the power to weaken an Eternal's influence, which ended up interfering with Zaaran's plans?

"Then do you know of an Eternal by the name of—" Tian Yang was about to ask Kulas if he knew Shura's name, but Kulas abruptly stopped him.

"Don't tell me anything! Although I may be fine now, this is only temporary. In fact, I can feel my consciousness slowly slipping away with every passing moment. I'll definitely return to being a madman soon, and Zaaran will learn everything you tell me."

Kulas looked at Tian Yang with a bitter smile and said, "Brother… I need you to do something for me…"

"If you're telling me to leave you, then you can—"

"Sorry, but I am not asking you." Kulas interrupted in a stubborn voice. "You must leave before Zaaran takes control of my body again, and while you're at it, please take my family with you—at least those who are still sane. This disease that's currently affecting me will eventually affect everyone related to my bloodline, so my family and the entire Giant Race will lose their mind soon."

"No!" Tian Yang angrily shouted. "I will not leave you behind again! I have the power to weaken an Eternal's influence, so as long as I am by your side—"

"NO!" Kulas responded with an even louder roar. "Your mysterious power is no longer effective! It can no longer stop Zaaran's influence on me!"

"Then what are you going to do once I leave?" Tian Yang asked.

"Do I really have to say it?" Kulas sighed.

"..."

Tian Yang fell silent, but he had a good idea what Kulas had in mind.

'He's going to end his own life before the madness consumes him…' Tian Yang gritted his teeth and clenched his fists in frustration until they bled, feeling as helpless as before.

"Damn it! I thought I'd finally become strong enough to protect those close to me!" he screamed at the top of his lungs. "Why is there always something fucking with me?! One thing after another—there's no end to this bullshit!"

"You're plenty strong already, brother." Kulas suddenly said. "However, no matter how strong you are, there will always be something beyond your control, especially if that thing is a god-like being that has existed for tens of billions of years before us."

"Ugh!"

Kulas suddenly groaned in pain.

"Kulas!"

"Leave! Now!" Kulas shouted at him. "I am already a lost cause, but my family… You can still protect them! Please! I will endure it for as long as I can, so hurry!"

"Fuck!" Tian Yang cursed out loud and left the room the next moment.

"Thank you for everything, brother… And goodbye..." Kulas muttered as he watched Tian Yang close the door.

"Goodbye, Kulas..."

Outside, Kulas' wives had woken up and were anxiously waiting.

"W-What happened to our husband?" They asked Tian Yang the moment he left the room.

Tian Yang responded with clenched fists, "Kulas is awake, but…"

After a moment of silence, he continued, "This will be hard to swallow, but Kulas is no longer the man that you once knew, and his illness is not curable. Before he sent me away, he asked me to take his family away from this place, where it'll be safe. If you haven't been affected by the illness, come with me."

"Are you asking us to abandon our husband?! There's no way I will do that!"

One of them immediately responded.

Tian Yang glared at her and spoke, "Then stay here. I do not have the time or energy to convince you. And I am merely following Kulas' wishes. However, I can't force you to leave if you don't want to. I will leave at dawn. Be outside at the front gate if you wish to follow me."

Without another word, Tian Yang turned around and disappeared, returning to Ren Xia to explain the situation to her.
