Chapter 2399 — Chapter 2399 A Brief Conversation With the Demon God

The first thing that came to Yuan's mind when seeing this silhouette was Prime Eternal Morveth, as he'd just killed her pet, the True Emperor of the Seas.

"Are you Morveth?" he asked out loud.

"What?" The silhouette immediately frowned at Yuan's question and said, "I know it's been a while since our last encounter, but to think you'd forgotten about me already."

Yuan raised an eyebrow at this familiar voice and quickly corrected himself, "You are… the Demon God?"

"I wasn't expecting you to approach me first, much less this soon," he added.

The Demon God slowly raised an arm and rubbed his eyes before speaking, "Do you have any idea what sort of trouble you've just caused for me?"

"Trouble…?" Yuan tilted his head with a puzzled look on his face, as he was unaware of Prime Eternal Morveth's earlier attack.

"Because you killed Morveth's little pet within my territory, she launched an attack on this world," the Demon God revealed, his tone calm yet heavy. "Had I not intervened… this entire realm would have been erased just now."

"Seriously…?" Yuan muttered, momentarily dazed. He had never expected Prime Eternal Morveth to retaliate so swiftly, nor had he realized how close he had come to death just moments ago.

"So you protected me? Thanks."

"What? Don't get it twisted," the Demon God sneered, his tone sharp with displeasure. "I didn't do it for you. I simply protected my world."

"Either way, I'm still alive because of your actions," he chuckled lightly. "So, in a sense… You did protect me."

"And to think we once fought each other with our lives on the line," Yuan suddenly remarked.

"Hahaha!" The Demon God burst into laughter. "You really do enjoy rewriting history, don't you? My life was never at risk back then, and it was yours that hung by a thread."

"Enough reminiscing," the Demon God suddenly said, his tone turning cold. "I didn't come here for that. I'm here to remind you that you owe me—for the trouble you've caused just now, and for entering my domain without permission, which is a direct violation of our agreement."

"How did you even enter my world? The gateway is still sealed," he then asked.

Yuan shrugged, "Honestly, I don't know. I was in my personal world before coming here, and it was never my intention to come here, so it was an accident." "Bastard… you created a pathway from your personal world to my world? Just what are you planning?" The Demon God narrowed his eyes at Yuan.

Yuan merely shook his head and explained, "I don't remember. As you can probably tell, I am not the same Tian Chenyu who fought you in the past. I am his reincarnation."

"That explains why your soul is so much stronger than before," the Demon God sucked his teeth in annoyance.

"Anyway, it's true that I owe you for saving me, but what do you want from me?" Yuan then asked.

"Frankly, there's nothing you can give me that I don't already have or can't acquire myself, nor is there anything you can do for me right now, so I will collect this debt later."

"That's fine too, I guess."

Yuan then asked, "By the way, what happened to Prime Eternal Morveth?"

"I chased her away for now, but she will definitely get her revenge one way or another. That said, as long as you're within the Demonic Realm, I doubt she will try to attack again."

"In that case, I'll stay here for a little longer," Yuan said in a joking voice.

"..."

The Demon God fell silent.

"What? Are you going to kick me out of the Demonic Realm because I came back here without your permission?"

"I had considered removing you," the Demon God said, his voice calm yet deliberate, "but there is something about you that intrigues me. So, I will allow you to remain here a while longer."

Yuan raised a brow but said nothing. Though the Demon God could have easily asked whatever piqued his curiosity, Yuan chose to remain silent. After all, this gave him the chance to stay in the Demonic Realm a little longer.

"I will be keeping a close eye on you… Tian Chenyu."

After saying that, the crimson world immediately collapsed, and the Demon God vanished into thin air.

"Yuan! Are you okay? What happened just now?" The moment Yuan was released from the crimson sphere, Supreme Ruler Dena rushed to his side, a rare look of concern evident on her face.

"As you can see, I am perfectly fine," he responded with a calm smile on his face.

"I just had a small conversation with the Demon God, that's all," he added.

"What did you just say?!" Supreme Ruler Dena and Lev exclaimed in unison.

"How can you say something that shocking so casually, as if it were nothing?!" Lev added, his voice filled with disbelief.

"You just spoke with the Demon God? Really?" Even Supreme Ruler Dena found it difficult to believe.

However, when she recalled how her full-power attack had failed to leave even a scratch on that barrier, the possibility no longer seemed so far-fetched.

"Yes," Yuan confirmed with a slight nod.

"..."

The two of them could only stare at Yuan in stunned silence, their mouths slightly agape. Though countless questions burned at the tip of their tongues, they dared not ask. After all, it would be like a mere servant inquiring what a general had discussed with the emperor.

"So… what now?" Lev asked after a long moment of silence.

"We resume whatever we were doing before meeting the Primal Sovereign of the Seas," Yuan said.

They nodded before continuing their journey across the Bloody Expanse.

Several months later, they had ventured far enough that the Sea Devils were no longer in hiding and began launching attacks on them.

Seeing this, Yuan thought of something and retrieved the Primal Sovereign of the Seas' Blood Essence.

The moment the Primal Sovereign of the Seas' aura appeared, the Sea Devils immediately stopped attacking and went into hiding, allowing them to travel in peace again.
