Chapter 2405 — Chapter 2405 Consuming the True Emperor of the Seas’ Blood Essence

"There's a good chance the Supreme Adviser had something to do with the disappearance of the people in the City of Blood, even pinning the blame on you," Yuan said to Supreme Ruler Dena after pondering for a moment.

"Even if that is true, what could he have done to the people? Where did they disappear to?" she wondered out loud.

Yuan then asked the Grand Abyssal Elder, "What's the City of Blood like now?"

"Well, the population has recovered about thirty percent since then."

"Only thirty percent?" Yuan remarked, as it sounded a little low for how much time has passed since then.

"Many are afraid of getting close to the City of Blood because they believe it might be cursed after what happened. They Moreover, the current Supreme Ruler actually prefers the lower population, so it's also much harder to live there nowadays."

"Speaking of the current Supreme Ruler, what kind of person are they?" Yuan then asked.

"The current Supreme Ruler is the son of the previous generation," the Grand Abyssal Elder began. "Much like his father, he is a devout fanatic of the Demon God, and… well… how should I put this…?"

He paused briefly before continuing, "He is utterly obsessed with solving our food shortage… as well as our overpopulation."

"What's so bad about that? You made it sound like he was about to do something horrific," Yuan said, shaking his head.

"There's nothing wrong with wanting to solve such problems," the Grand Abyssal Elder replied, his tone turning grave. "The issue lies in his solution, and it concerns you the most. He intends to make use of your world, which, according to him, is rich in both space and resources."

Yuan's brows rose at those words.

"The current Supreme Ruler… plans to invade my world?" he muttered, stunned at this revelation.

"Though he never stated it outright," the Grand Abyssal Elder said, "the implication was unmistakable."

"And what do the residents of this world think of his plan?" Yuan asked.

"Well, as with most things, there are those who oppose it," the Grand Abyssal Elder replied. "However, I would say the majority welcome the idea. After all, many have grown weary of their current way of life and long for something better."

Yuan rubbed his eyes and let out a deep, weary sigh. His worst fear had finally come to pass.

Even back then, Tian Chenyu had foreseen that things would inevitably reach this point if left unresolved, which was why he had always intended to return one day and find a solution.

"Don't worry. Once I reclaim my position, I will ensure that no invasion takes place," Supreme Ruler Dena said.

"Easier said than done," Yuan replied with a bitter smile.

"Still… given your situation, and the current Supreme Ruler's intentions, I suppose our next destination will be the City of Blood."

She nodded.

"But before we head out, I will need some time to cultivate the Blood Essences I recently acquired. We might need to fight, so it's best we prepare for it."

Yuan turned to look at the Grand Abyssal Elder and said, "We'd like to stay here for a little longer if you don't mind."

The Grand Abyssal Elder nodded and laughed, "Even if you decided to stay here forever, who'd be able to stop you? I will prepare a suitable and quiet dwelling for you immediately. Wait here a little."

The Grand Abyssal Elder left the room for several minutes before returning.

"Your living quarters are ready."

Yuan and his group followed the Grand Abyssal Elder to a small residential area only about ten minutes away.

"There will only be the three of you living in this place, and I have warned the others not to approach this area, so there should be no disturbance at all. If you need anything, there will be someone stationed nearby."

"Thanks for the hospitality. You're not too bad for a group of hired assassins."

A stiff smile tugged at the Grand Abyssal Elder's face as he spoke, "We're not limited to assassinations. In fact, it's a minor part of our whole organization, and we specialize in information gathering."

Under normal circumstances, they would not extend hospitality to anyone—not even the Supreme Ruler, much less to this extent.

However, they were now dealing with someone they deemed even more terrifying than the Supreme Ruler—or at least, that was how they viewed Yuan, having witnessed firsthand just how horrifying he could be.

"How long will you be in seclusion?" Supreme Ruler Dena asked Yuan once the Grand Abyssal Elder left them alone.

"Hmm… hard to say since I have two drops of Blood Essence to absorb, but it probably won't take longer than twenty years."

"Then I will also use this time to really focus on my recovery."

Yuan nodded before turning to look at Lev.

"You don't have to worry about me. There's really nothing for me to do, so I'll just wait for you to be done. Hell, I'll even stand guard to make sure nobody will disturb you two."

"Alright. Then I'll see you two later."

Yuan entered his living quarters and immediately prepared to consume the blood essences.

Since the True Emperor of the Seas was no doubt weaker than the Primal Sovereign of the Seas, Yuan decided to absorb its blood essence first, as it would prepare him for the next one.

Yuan stared at the True Emperor of the Seas' blood essence and mumbled, "I have finally avenged you guys…"

The next moment, he poured the blood essence into his mouth, and it disappeared into his tongue.

The moment Yuan absorbed the True Emperor of the Seas' Blood Essence, it felt as though he had been dragged into the deepest abyss of the ocean, engulfed in darkness, with crushing pressure bearing down on him from all sides, as if intent on compressing him into nothing more than a formless mass.

He could also feel the True Emperor of the Seas' anguish and seething hatred in its final moments, like a lingering echo of its dying will, desperately clawing at him in a last attempt at vengeance.

"If you couldn't defeat me while alive, what makes you think you can affect me while being dead?! Scram!"

In an instant, Yuan blew away the True Emperor of the Seas' last effort and focused on absorbing its blood essence.

A year later—

Yuan slowly opened his eyes, and for a brief moment, his dark pupils churned like a violent maelstrom—deep and unfathomable, like a storm raging within a black sea.

"So the True Emperor of the Seas' had a Supreme-grade bloodline, huh? That made hunting it even more worth it!" Yuan smiled at the results.

He was also pleasantly surprised that his Absolute Regeneration still had room for improvements, but he couldn't fathom how much better his regeneration could have gotten when he could already regrow his entire body with ease.

Then there was his new ability Perfect Water Manipulation, which basically allowed him to control water as if it were part of his own body.

As for the ability 'Sea Emperor', it was a passive skill that boosted his damage against sea creatures by a tremendous amount.

After taking a brief break, Yuan retrieved the Primal Sovereign of the Seas' Blood Essence and stared at it in silence.

Unlike the True Emperor of the Seas, he hadn't yet grasped the Primal Sovereign of the Seas' prowess. In fact, he had no idea who it could even be compared to.

'Is it near the Primordial Phoenix's level, or perhaps similar to the Dragon God? No… there's no way it could be near the Dragon God's level…'

Although the Primal Sovereign of the Seas was definitely powerful, Yuan couldn't imagine it being anywhere near as strong as the Dragon God, as it simply made no sense.

'A goldfish being at the level of the Dragon God? That would be hilarious.' Yuan shook his head with a smile.

Yuan tempered his expectations, assuming the Blood Essence would be on par with the Primordial Phoenix's, and took a deep breath before consuming it.

The very next instant, his eyes widened in shock. "Son of a—! That damn goldfish is even stronger than the Dragon God!"

Completely caught off guard by the sheer disparity, Yuan hurriedly steadied himself, bracing for the unbearable pain he knew was about to follow.
