Chapter 224 — Transformation

"Perhaps by then, you will only be able to wait for my strength to reach a level where I can easily revive you."

The moment her words fell, a brilliant light flashed in Liora’s soul. It appeared at its very center and soon spread throughout it.

When it covered it completely, Liora felt that her soul was being infinitely elevated, as if it had broken through a certain limit.

The power of her consciousness grew even stronger, while a seemingly indestructible defense was formed around her soul.

Liora was surprised at first. But very quickly, she understood what was happening.

Though she had lived for a short amount of time, she had gone through many extraordinary experiences so far.

Hence, her will had always been extremely powerful, indirectly enhancing the strength of her soul.

But now, having experienced more "human" emotions such as grief, loss, and finally relief, her will had grown even stronger.

In worlds that followed cultivation systems, her current state would be called Enlightenment, or a strengthening of one’s Dao Heart.

In worlds that followed other power systems, such a state would have other names.

Regardless, Liora did not care about the name.

All she needed to know was that her will had become stronger and the power of her soul had increased even further.

By now, her soul had far surpassed her real stage, possessing the power of a True Devil.

"But this doesn’t come without disadvantages. I can sense that my body can hardly contain my soul any longer.", Liora whispered.

Although her strength was already impressive and she was extremely powerful among Lesser Devils, this was still not enough to support her True Devil soul.

If she didn’t advance soon, side effects would begin to occur.

At best, her soul would be injured, and its strength would forcibly decrease, while at worst, her body would explode, like a bottle of water that was unable to hold on any longer.

Neither of these was something Liora wanted to see.

Thus, she quickly made a decision.

Rising to her feet, her strengthened consciousness expanded and surveyed the whole continent.

As everything that was happening fell into her view, a cold light flashed across her eyes.

"I was originally planning to postpone my advancement and get as many benefits from this world as I could. Unfortunately, it seems that this is no longer possible."

"I have to speed up my devouring of the World Origin, as well as the collection of Evolution Points."

"It seems that this world is about to suffer. No! It will be saved."

After dealing with the aftermath of Eleanor’s death and relieving Alpha’s concerns, Liora returned to the Ancient Beast Wilderness.

Or rather, she returned to the room housing this world’s World Origin.

Although not much time had passed, Liora immediately noticed that the World Origin had grown a little stronger.

Though this increase was minimal, it was still noticeable to her.

"Sure enough, a world can slowly restore its World Origin. If it were given enough time, it might not be difficult for this world to recover to its peak and even go beyond."

"By that time, the World Origin would be many times more, and it would be even more beneficial to devour it."

Saying this, Liora paused and shook her head.

"Unfortunately, the time required for this to happen is measured in hundreds of thousands, if not millions of years. Unless I decide to stay in this world till then, there’s no reason to wait any longer."

She had already made a decision before she came to this place. Therefore, Liora didn’t linger.

After she confirmed that there was nothing wrong, she scooped a handful of World Origin with great familiarity and let it rush down her throat.

This time, the impact of the World Origin’s influence on her was even less severe.

The strengthening of her will and soul had made it even easier to deal with its influence.

Coupled with the characteristics of the Unknown Bloodline, it only took Liora less than a second to wake up.

However, she didn’t stop there.

After digesting this portion of World Origin, she devoured another, and then another.

Just like in the past, the percentage in the Race column began to skyrocket.

40%, 50%, 70%.

In the blink of an eye, the percentage had reached more than eighty percent and was still increasing at an astonishing rate.

This did not come without a cost, however.

The cluster of light representing the World Origin had decreased by more than seventy percent.

Most importantly, the loss of World Origin had begun to affect the world as well.

Although the room possessed a strange power and was able to remain stable, Liora was still able to catch a glimpse of the outside world through a casual sweep of her consciousness.

In her view, the whole continent had begun to shatter.

Earth turned over as if many earthquakes of several hundred degrees were happening at the same time, while the elements themselves went into a frenzy.

Fire, Water, Earth, and Wind raged violently, engulfing the whole continent and turning it into a scene of the Cataclysm.

For a moment, it seemed that many elemental creatures had descended in this world and had decided to wreak havoc.

Liora watched this scene and remained calm.

After confirming that no one would step forward to stop her, neither the hidden True Devil nor the remaining Will of the World, her actions sped up.

She stopped using her hands and instead lowered her head before her lips parted. With a deep inhale, the World Origin transformed into liquid and flowed into her mouth.

Though it tried to struggle and influence Liora, it ultimately failed, just like the World Origin before it had done.

Liora instinctively summoned her System and watched the numbers go up.

97%, 98%, 99%.

Finally, the number settled to 100% before it dissipated completely.

The moment it did, both the Race column and the System Panel as a whole shook.
