Chapter 234 — Return

Unfortunately, no matter how much she investigated, she couldn’t find anything that made this halberd so valuable.

In her eyes, it was an ordinary yet powerful weapon.

For a moment, she even began to doubt whether her guess was true.

But ultimately, she shook her head.

"It doesn’t matter if this thing is the reason why the True Heart Devil targeted me. I’ve already benefited greatly during my journey in this world."

"If this halberd is indeed a treasure, I will find out sooner or later. If it isn’t, I can only blame my bad luck for missing the ’real’ treasure."

As soon as this thought emerged, Liora’s mind relaxed.

With a calm expression, she placed the halberd back in its place and waved her hand to collect the True Heart Devil’s remaining soul.

Then, she surveyed her surroundings.

The previous battle between two True Devils would have been more than enough to destroy the world of Knights several times.

However, the Origin Sea was hardly affected.

Apart from their respective auras that were quickly dissipating, no other trace of their fight could be found.

Liora’s eyes wandered through the flickering lights until they finally landed on one that was very far away.

But despite the large distance between them, its brilliance was extremely bright, like a shining star wishing to bathe the world in its brilliance.

Moreover, unlike the other lights around it, a faint red color could be seen on this one’s core.

Instinctively, Liora knew its identity.

It was none other than the Demon World, the embodiment of everything evil in Heavens and the source of all evil.

At the same time, it was her birthplace.

"Every Devil can sense the Demon World as long as they enter the Origin Sea."

"Through the mutual attraction between them and the world, the Devils can find the way back home after they’ve invaded and plundered other worlds."

This was the method that the True Heart Devil was going to use, and it was also the way the vast majority of True Devils found their way home.

However, Liora was not planning to follow them.

"I can sense that the Demon World is extremely far away. Even if I can wander through the Origin Sea, it will probably take me hundreds, if not thousands of years, to return."

For other True Devils, such a long journey was worth it.

Which True Devil had not lived for thousands of years?

In their cognition, a few hundred years was nothing.

But for Liora, who was just less than two years old, such a journey seemed almost impossible to complete.

"Thankfully, I can always use ’that’.", Liora muttered, and her hands began moving.

Her fingers flashed crimson as she wove Devil Runes in the air in front of her, which soon fell down and merged together.

Her movements were extremely quick, and having already engraved this array before, it didn’t take her long to complete it.

Following an almost inaudible click, the array’s formation became apparent.

As she cast a glance at this array, Liora’s crimson eyes reflected its peculiar and complex design.

Even though she had become a True Devil, she still found it difficult to fully understand its mysteries.

After all, this was not an ordinary array, but an array she had discovered during her exploration of the mysterious blood.

It was none other than the World-Descending Array, the array responsible for Liora’s descent in the world of Knights.

Now that her journey had been completed and she was about to return to the Demon World, this exact same array could be used to guide her back home.

Sensing her invisible connection with the array, Liora nodded her head in satisfaction.

She reached into the Space Orb and took out some blood and flesh before dropping them into the Devil Runes.

As they devoured it, the whole array lit up. Soon, it had received its ’fuel’ and activated.

A large portal emerged at its very center and called out to Liora, urging her to step inside and return to her birthplace.

However, Liora didn’t rush to do so.

She knew that her return to the Demon World was bound to be accompanied by danger.

Waiting for her might not only be a single True Devil-level Fire Elemental, but the entire Fire Elemental race.

Of course, this was the worst-case scenario.

Regardless, she knew she had to make some preparations before her return.

Thinking of this, she took her seat beside the World-Descending Array and summoned the System Panel.

Due to her earlier actions in the world of Knights, her Evolution Points had soared once again, now reaching more than half a million.

Looking at this impressive number, Liora couldn’t help but smile.

"With these points as my source of power, getting out of that damned place should be easier.", she muttered, as the Creation Panel appeared materialized in her field of vision.

--

Liora sensed the familiar power of long-distance teleportation acting on her body.

She was quite familiar with this force, having experienced it several times before.

Perhaps because of that or perhaps due to her increase in strength, Liora could now sense even more things than in the past.

Her eyes shone as she watched the space continuously fold and gather around her in ways that didn’t make any sense, while her body was broken down into the tiniest of particles and shuttled through it.

Though this state was far beyond her cognition, studying it provided her with great benefits.

After all, her new ability, Null Step, was also a type of teleportation.

Although the two were obviously different and her power was far below that of the Demon World, experiencing long-term teleportation still granted her many valuable insights.

Unfortunately, just when Liora was becoming increasingly immersed in those insights, as if she had achieved enlightenment, her journey came to a stop abruptly.

First, the space around her was smoothed out, and then her body was rearranged, restored to its initial condition.

Soon, Liora opened her eyes and found herself in an underground cave.

Demonic aura washed over the surroundings, while her blood and demonic energy surged, as if responding to it.

The familiar aura, the familiar sights, and the familiar longing stemming from deep within her bloodline let Liora know: the World-Descending Array had worked as expected, and she had returned to the Demon World.

Instantly, she felt her already powerful strength growing even stronger while a sense of comfort assaulted her senses, making her feel like a fish that had returned to the sea.
