Chapter 364 — Snake of Time

Liora did not stay in the Origin Sea for long.

After she confirmed that everything was fine, including her own and the ring’s state, she approached the Demon Weapon World and calmly waved her hand.

Instantly, the film shielding the world from otherworld invasions parted on its own, as if welcoming her to enter.

If other people were here, they would be stunned.

When had a world ever reacted like this in the face of an intruder?

Even if the world didn’t directly send out its punishment and attempt to kill her, it should at least try to keep Liora out of it.

However, Liora was hardly surprised by this phenomenon.

She had realized long ago that the Demon Weapon World had begun to favor her.

It had already become obvious when she killed the Divine Race members and Evil Spirits, and it became even more apparent as she spread various Warrior techniques and helped people become Grandmasters.

This also confirmed something that Liora already knew: every world had its own instincts and knew how to seek benefits.

If they believed that someone was helpful to them and could help them improve, they would actively favor them.

Evidence of this was that Liora could now freely exit and enter this Demon Weapon World, and another piece of evidence was the invisible power that was constantly pouring into her body.

World Origin.

Without Liora extracting it, the Demon Weapon World was providing her with World Origin on its own.

Although the amount was minuscule, considering that Liora had spent decades in this world, she had actually obtained a large amount of World Origin.

Feeling the nearly inexhaustible power arrive once again, the moment she stepped into the Demon Weapon World, Liora couldn’t help but let out a sigh.

Compared to personally extracting and plundering World Origin, this was many times easier.

Moreover, given enough time, the World Origin that one would obtain in this way would far surpass that obtained through forceful methods.

--

The Thunder Tribulation in the Origin Sea did not affect the Demon Weapon World much.

At the very least, the natives, mortals and Warriors alike, did not notice that they were previously on the brink of death.

After Liora returned to the Blood Devil Sect, she didn’t rush to do anything.

Instead, her attention fell on the ring on her hand—the weapon that had previously alarmed the entire Origin Sea and caused the Thunder Tribulation to form.

Its true form was not really a ring.

With a move of her mind, the black, self-eating serpent grew bigger, transforming into a translucent, constantly flowing river.

Though there were faint differences, Liora could see that it closely resembled the river that had appeared behind the Demon God during the battle against the two higher-level worlds.

"Integrating the Time Clock has indeed influenced this weapon."

"Although it was also affected by the Demon Weapons melted during the process, this ring is still a weapon with the power of time."

Liora could sense the ring’s functions.

It possessed a mix of the Time Clock’s and the silver umbrella’s abilities, including Prophecy, Time Warp, Sovereign’s Canopy, Retribution, etc.

All those abilities had been improved to varying degrees, with some now being able to contend against Archdevils.

However, this was not the thing she paid the most attention to.

As Liora shifted her focus inward, she noticed that a similar river had also appeared beside her soul.

The sound of a river flowing resounded throughout her soul space, while her soul seemed to exist in a different timeline, being invulnerable to all present attacks.

At the top of the soul space, where the True Spirit Gate was located, the gray miasma parasitizing it shook violently.

It appeared fearful of the river’s power and quickly stopped its outward expansion. It began growing smaller, as if it wished to integrate its defenses and fight against the river.

Seeing the World Devourer ancestor’s instinctive reaction, Liora was not too surprised.

Since her Manifestation was used during this weapon’s creation process, it could also be used in soul battles.

With Liora’s own strength and the help of the ring, she now had a higher chance of dealing with the World Devourer ancestor.

Sensing the fear of her opponent and feeling her soul be filled with power, Liora almost had the urge to try and fight them.

As long as the World Devourer ancestor died, opening the True Spirit Gate and becoming an Archdevil was but a matter of time.

However, she restrained that impulse quickly and shook her head.

"Now is not the time. Various preparations are still to be made."

"Although there is a high chance that I can now deal with the World Devourer ancestor, there is no reason to take a risk."

"I haven’t reached the peak of the Greater Devil stage just yet."

Moreover, Liora strongly doubted something.

Could such a being really have no trump cards? In her opinion, this was highly unlikely.

Although the opponent might not use them at ordinary times, if Liora were to show signs of threatening them, they would be forced to use them.

With that in mind, she decided against fighting them at the moment.

Putting away the river and turning it into a black ring that covered both her and her soul’s fingers, Liora shifted her attention elsewhere.

With a thought, the long-lost System appeared in her field of vision.

...

[True Name: Liora Veythalis Dranthera Vexira...]

[Current Absorption Efficiency: 100x (Normal Devil = 1x)]

...

Her displayed information had changed significantly.

Although her advancement had not brought her any new abilities, her enhanced Base Stats were enough to showcase how massive the transformation she had gone through truly was.

The Greater Devil stage was divided into three substages: Indestructible Body, Indestructible Soul, and True Spirit.

Each of them brought a massive transformation to the Devil, equivalent to a leap in major stages of the past.

As such, a Greater Devil at the Indestructible Soul stage could easily deal with one at the Indestructible Body stage, and the same was true for the True Spirit.

As for True Devils? Even the weakest Greater Devil could suppress them with ease.

"Looking back, Duke Bloodflower should not have been that weak."

"It’s very likely that he had already reached the Indestructible Soul stage."

"It’s only because of some outside influence that he was unable to exert his full combat power. Otherwise, our fight might not have had such a result.", Liora concluded.

Her gaze briefly paused on her enhanced Base Stats.

After a few seconds, it moved to the [Techniques] column.

This was a new addition during her journey in this world.

Before, she had improved the Blood Blade Technique several times, granting her strength equivalent to the peak of the True Devil stage.

Yet, now that her Manifestation had merged with the weapon, the technique had vanished.

Instead, it was replaced by a long line of question marks.

"Indeed. Although the ring has the form, it’s actually more like a technique.", Liora realized, and a name couldn’t help but appear in her mind.

Immediately, the column changed.

...

[Techniques: Snake of Time [1]]

...

Nodding her head, she originally wanted to see what would happen if she were to upgrade it.

But to her dismay, despite now possessing millions of Evolution Points, there was no way to further improve this technique.

Not because this technique was impossible to upgrade, but because she lacked sufficient Evolution Points.

Liora immediately had a hunch: if she wanted to upgrade Snake of Time further, she would have to wait for a long time.

Or rather, she would have to devour countless souls.
