Chapter 394 — Trump Cards

The toxins produced by the Plague Devil were not ordinary poison.

Although Liora had only been briefly in contact with him and the two had hardly communicated, she had already recognized his race.

A Zombie Devil, a race mixed between Devils and zombies.

Unlike ordinary zombies, which were a low-level race mostly looked down on, Zombie Devils possessed the advantages of this race while not losing the advantages of Devils.

For example, they possessed the strength of Devils, as well as the power to control the undead and spread poison.

Faced with the dark mist and the undead rushing in her direction, Liora reacted pretty quickly.

With a wave of her hands, a gust of wind formed and prevented the poison from coming near her, while she quietly approached Alpha and made a gesture with her eyes.

Alpha did not require any further explanation.

Her body instantly crumbled, and only a mechanical core remained, which entered Liora’s body and boosted her strength.

The difference in strength between the two had been massive in the past, making the strength enhancement hardly matter.

Their combination could at most allow Liora to use Alpha’s abilities.

But now that Alpha had reached the peak of the Greater Devil stage, the strength she provided Liora was quite significant.

As she checked her current state, Liora judged that her power had increased by about thirty percent.

For a being of her level, such an enhancement was massive, and only an advancement could surpass it.

Liora didn’t activate any of her many abilities.

Her feet shoved against the ground, and she glided forward, appearing before a Greater Devil undead and facing it calmly.

Demonforce emerged from the depths of her body and transformed into a black layer around her fist, before she threw a punch forward, targeting its head.

The space within the maze was extremely dense and difficult to break.

Yet, at that moment, Liora’s movements caused it to tremble, just based on her physical strength.

However, no one had the time to care about this.

The next moment, her fist struck the bones of the undead.

The expected collision did not occur.

Instead, the bones of the Greater Devil immediately began to snap before they shattered completely.

Liora did not pause, not wasting even a moment to celebrate.

While controlling the wind elements to expel the poison of the Plague Devil, she flashed in front of another undead and attacked one more time.

Her opponents had no way to resist.

Liora’s high agility made them unable to contend with her speed, while her overwhelming power put them at a complete disadvantage.

"Undead are only undead after all. Although these creatures have the strength of a Greater Devil, they don’t have the abilities of one."

"Without Indestructible Matter to help them recover, dying once means perishing forever."

Liora might have found it difficult to contend against a dozen Greater Devils with a similar strength and would have been forced to reveal more of her abilities.

However, facing the army of undead, she only had to rely on her physical strength and Demonforce to easily suppress them.

The Plague Devil outside the battlefield stared at this scene with a fearful gaze.

He could only stare blankly as Liora killed the undead one after another, as if she had turned into a member of the giant race.

However, he restrained his impulse to rush forward and didn’t act.

Glancing at the bronze sword hilt in his hand, he continued accumulating momentum while waiting for an opportunity.

The Plague Devil understood that he was weaker than Liora and could not fight against her at the moment.

Although his strength had increased after entering this place, the gap between them was still massive.

As such, he didn’t intend to fight her normally from the beginning.

Rather, by using the undead he had controlled to keep her busy, he wanted to create an opportunity for one final, decisive strike.

That strike would directly decide the outcome of the fight.

A strange scene soon occurred within the dimly-lit room.

A woman wandered around a bunch of undead, punching them and shattering their bodies, while a pale man stood not far away, staring at her intently with a fierce gaze.

If anyone arrived here and did not know any better, they would have been led to believe that the Plague Devil had been captivated by Liora’s beauty.

Of course, more powerful people would immediately sense the murderous intent filling the air.

Time slowly passed.

For the Plague Devil, every second felt like an hour.

The sword fragment in his hand trembled like a living being as more and more demonic energy poured into it, as if it were thirsting for the opponent’s blood.

Suddenly, the Plague Devil’s pupils widened.

"It’s now!", he thought and, following a raising of his hand, he swung the sword fragment towards Liora.

Its bronze surface lit up with a variety of colors, reflecting the giant torches hanging from the walls and the two people.

The sword strike seemed ordinary, as if it didn’t contain any power and would not even be able to hurt a mortal.

Yet, as the person facing it, Liora understood that its power was terrifying.

In her opinion, this blow was as powerful as her activating Eclipse while consuming the entirety of her Demonforce.

Even in her current state, she doubted that she could take it head-on without being severely injured.

Despite knowing this, Liora didn’t panic.

Could it be that she had not seen the Plague Devil’s actions or sensed his intentions?

From the very beginning, she had been waiting for this moment.

After shattering the body of another Greater Devil undead and extinguishing the flames in its eye sockets, Liora’s eyes narrowed, and her consciousness directly connected with Alpha’s.

Although the two women did not speak a word, their souls seemed to have merged at that moment, able to sense each other’s thoughts clearly.

Alpha immediately acted.

Boundless energy emerged from the depths of her mechanical core and poured into Liora’s body, elevating her strength even further.

It not only increased her physical strength and demonic energy, but also the quality and volume of her Demonforce.

For a moment, Liora had the illusion that she had broken through the 6th Level of the Demonic Body Art.

Of course, she understood that this was an illusion. As long as she exited this state, her strength and Demonforce would return to normal.

However...

"This is enough.", Liora whispered.

With a move of her mind, she activated the signature ability of World Devourers—Eclipse.

The projection of the Land of Nothingness appeared and hovered above her head, as if serving as her crown.

In the past, this land had been completely illusory. But now, it had gained a material form, as if the real destination of all things had descended in the maze.

A powerful aura spread with it at the center, faintly surpassing the Greater Devil stage.

The next moment, a black hole appeared and shot at the Plague Devil and the sword in his hand.
