Chapter 605 — Everyone Dies

Elaouthr’s outburst was almost instantaneous.

One moment, everyone thought that he was destined to perish. The next, he had already killed the Venerable demon and was targeting everyone else within the room.

Save for the tentacled Emperor, who seemed to have understood what was going on and was filled with fear, everyone believed he had been driven mad.

However, they soon realized just how wrong they were.

Several bursts echoed.

The claws targeting the other demons were far weaker than the two directed at the Emperors.

Yet the people they were aiming at were also far weaker.

In a single strike, the demons’ skin was ripped apart, followed by their flesh and the bones beneath it.

Two shrill cries echoed throughout the hall. Then silence.

The remaining two King demons had perished in a matter of moments!

Although heartbroken to see his last few subordinates die, the tentacled Emperor had no time to care about them.

He was the one facing the greatest threat at the moment.

Facing the incoming claw mark, which was approaching him at an astonishing speed, a trace of despair flashed deep within his eyes.

But very quickly, this despair transformed into ruthlessness.

He seemed to have made a decision.

Coughing a mouthful of blood as a sacrifice, the bloodline ability he had always kept as a trump card was suddenly activated.

In an instant, his flesh started to shrink down, as though a giant invisible mosquito was sucking the blood out of him.

His aura fluctuated violently, and he looked on the brink of dropping in Rank.

However, a crimson sheen formed around his tentacles as a result.

Each of them burst out with an astonishing amount of power before lashing toward the approaching claw.

The Zerg Queen, standing not far away, was facing a similar situation.

Likewise, she had also chosen to employ her desperate methods.

Countless Zerg Servants shot out of her body before exploding into minced meat.

Their pure essence flowed into her, used as a consumable to enhance the soul attack that took an actual material form and shot toward the claw.

Two Emperors were simultaneously using their most powerful abilities to withstand the attack of a mere King.

This sounded outrageous.

However, this was the strange scene currently unfolding within the trial hall.

Most importantly, the result went beyond anyone’s expectations.

Continuous thunderous explosions echoed. Then, two agonizing screams followed.

Although the two claw marks quickly collapsed, disintegrating back into pure energy, the two Emperors did not fare any better.

Millions of the tentacles in the demon’s body were cleanly separated, while the Zerg Queen’s head burst apart, seemingly suffering a backlash for her "insolent" soul attack.

The Emperors managed to withstand Elaouthr’s attack, but both paid a devastating price.

Fortunately, this seemed enough.

After this strike, the opponent appeared to have completely exhausted his energy reserves.

His body remained motionless, and the ancient aura surrounding him rapidly receded.

The oppressive aura vanished, and the trial hall quickly returned to normal—save for the flesh and blood scattered everywhere.

The two Emperors immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

"Thankfully... Thankfully he can’t attack again—"

Just as the tentacled Emperor was halfway through these words, his voice was abruptly cut off.

Blood splattered out from where his mouth was supposed to be.

His countless eyes revolved along his spherical body, turning their focus toward his back.

"Liothar... You... You—"

He struggled to speak, but he was unable to finish his sentence.

Soon, a giant hammer struck directly at his body.

Had he been at his full power, he might have been able to withstand its impact.

However, having already faced Elaouthr’s blow, his strength had diminished significantly, reaching a brand-new low.

Now, with Liora’s "King" strength and the Battle Fury Hammer to enhance it, he was unable to offer any meaningful resistance.

A thunderous boom soon rang out.

Blood and flesh scattered once more, while the broken tentacles of the Emperor fell to the floor.

They writhed eerily, striking at everything around them like beasts that had gone out of control.

It was only several moments later that they finally ceased their resistance.

The last trace of the tentacled Emperor’s aura vanished, signaling his complete death.

It was only when his screams quieted down that the Zerg Queen realized what was happening.

Staring at the lizard demon, who had also burst out with power far surpassing its Rank, she nearly cursed aloud.

What was happening inside the hall?

Why had every King suddenly become so powerful?

Could it be that she could no longer keep up with the younger generation?

The Zerg Queen had countless thoughts swirling inside her mind.

Unfortunately, she was destined not to find an answer to any of her questions.

The moment after the tentacled Emperor died, the lizard demon appeared before her. It raised the giant hammer onto its shoulder before slamming down at her.

The tentacled Emperor had been unable to withstand Liora’s attack.

The Zerg Queen, with her weaker physical strength, had even less of a chance to resist.

With a single swing of the Battle Fury Hammer, her body was blasted into pieces.

Then, Liora waved her hand, collecting the soul trying desperately to escape.

"So, it was you that killed Mira..." a cold female voice echoed, as the soul in Liora’s palm squirmed.

Shockingly, the Rank 10 Zerg Queen not only possessed the ability to remain conscious in a soul state, but could also communicate like an ordinary person.

As Liora examined her more closely, she sensed that her strength was also quite powerful in such a state.

Even without a body, she would still be able to fight against a World Lord.

This made Liora sigh. The Zerg Race was truly blessed with its talents.

Between the four Apex Civilizations, perhaps only the Mechanical Race could match them in terms of talent and qualifications.

As for humans and demons, they managed to reach this stage simply because of their giant "talent pool". In simple terms, their numbers were greater.

Thinking of this, Liora shook her head.

She sensed that the Zerg Queen wished to communicate with her.

Unfortunately for her, she wasn’t willing to give her the chance.

With a gentle wave of her hand, she let the soul enter the Cosmic Sea before being sealed away.

In the meantime, Liora shifted her attention elsewhere—to the final standing person beside her.

As her gaze focused on the once unassuming demon, she couldn’t help but open her mouth to speak.
