Chapter 617 — Human Federation Message

A few minutes later, the ancient city fragment that had stood its ground for billions of years, having withstood the Era’s destruction and carrying the hopes of countless cultivators, was nowhere to be seen.

Where it once stood was only a black hole, with a large amount of cosmic dust swirling around its edges.

Once the final part of the city crumbled, bringing this piece of history to an end, the black hole finally stopped revolving.

It rapidly shrank down and the cosmic dust returned inside of it, until it finally turned into a tiny dot.

Then, a deafening bang echoed.

The dot rapidly transformed.

It grew closer to a human outline.

First appeared a torso, then the four limbs, and finally a head.

In an instant, the terrifying black hole that had just caused such a large amount of destruction, in a range of several light-years, had vanished.

In its place stood a red-haired woman with crimson eyes.

Staring at the absolute emptiness surrounding her, including space and matter itself, Liora did not feel emotional.

Subconsciously, she licked her lips as her consciousness dove into the Cosmic Sea and focused on a certain star.

The Cultivation Star.

As soon as her eyes landed on it, she instantly sensed some changes.

The figures wandering across its surface had grown less illusory, as though they were slowly being condensed.

Moreover, the aura of transcendence and invincibility the star naturally exuded had become even more prominent.

All these, of course, were merely external changes.

Liora did not care about them very much.

Most of her attention was on the Cultivation Star itself. Or rather, what had caused these changes.

"The Cultivation Star has grown significantly stronger, meaning that the Cultivation Law it embodies has gotten more powerful."

"I can feel that this Law has advanced another step."

"If before, it was a Low-Tier Rank 11 Law, then now it has turned into a Medium-Tier Rank 11 Law."

Although this was a division that Liora had just made up, it was enough to show that the Cultivation Law had received a significant upgrade.

As a result, the Cosmic Sea itself had also received various benefits.

Liora’s eyes lit up when she noticed this and sensed the improvement of her own strength.

"For ordinary Devils, reaching the peak of the Archdevil stage is the end of their path. If they want to go further, they have to find an opportunity to take their Throne out of the River of Time, becoming Ancient Devils in the process."

"If they don’t do this, their strength will stagnate forever. Only by practicing other power systems can they enhance their combat prowess."

"However, how easy is it to find a power system that is strong enough to allow its practitioner to become an Ancient Devil?"

"I, however, face no such difficulty."

The Cosmic Sea was the power system Liora had created for herself.

Although she didn’t know how powerful it would end up being, its fundamental strength was extraordinary.

At the very least, she strongly doubted that any other power system had a chance of allowing one to become the Origin Sea.

Liora believed that before becoming a Princess of the Demon World, she would face almost no obstacles.

As for how to reach that point...

"Just devouring a mere city fragment and its residents was enough to elevate the Cultivation Law so much."

"If I devour the entire ancient city, won’t I be able to instantly reach Rank 12 or even Rank 13?"

Liora did not know whether Rank 13 existed in the Cosmic Universe at all.

But if it did, it would be equivalent to a Primordial Ancient Devil.

Just the thought that she could reach such a level through simply devouring, without having to go through the twists and turns of upgrading her Throne, made her excited.

But very quickly, she forced herself to calm down.

"Just a city fragment had so many mighty figures hidden within it."

"Even if we exclude Alice and the means that her creator left behind, these cultivators and the man in the Heavenly Armor Pavilion are already extraordinary."

"In the complete ancient city, the number of hidden powerhouses would be even higher."

Of course, although Liora understood that truth, she knew that the fact that she had the possibility to achieve this was already incredible.

Even if the chances of that happening were minuscule, it was worth fighting over.

With that thought, Liora was about to make a plan regarding the future, thinking of ways to use her advantages to infiltrate—and swallow—the ancient city.

But just then, she suddenly noticed something. Raising her head, she looked at the sky, from where she sensed an illusory power descend.

It seemed to come from the world itself, as well as a higher, more illusory dimension.

Liora quickly recognized its identity.

Therefore, she didn’t try to fight back.

After splitting a part of her consciousness and disguising it as an ordinary human, she let the invisible power wash over her.

Instantly, her field of vision rapidly shifted.

Patterns and numbers continuously flashed in front of her eyes before she found herself in a familiar residence.

However, she had no time to examine her surroundings.

The moment she landed on the Information World, the message button at the edge of her vision was pressed on its own.

Then, the scroll of messages unfolded and focused on the latest message.

Its deep crimson outline made its importance clear. Moreover, the message’s Sender and Recipients only further highlighted its importance.

...

"Sender: Human Federation. Recipient: Human Race Members in Extraterrestrial Battlefield XC33XTI (Liora Augustus)."

"Changes have been detected in the Extraterrestrial Battlefield and the ancient city through our autonomous system."

"Several powerhouses have entered the battlefield and are rushing toward the source of the disturbance."

"Everyone is advised to remain cautious. The weaker ones are advised to evacuate the battlefield."

"Those who deem themselves powerful enough can move toward the ancient city and wait for further news."

"Reminder: Everyone should act according to their own abilities. The chances of death are extraordinarily high."
