Chapter 731 — Limit
5 min read ·
Outside the membrane of the Cosmic Universe, the Origin Sea had remained unchanged for several years.
The power of destruction remained engraved in the fabric of the Origin Sea, not showing any signs of dispersing even after so long.
Silence shrouded the Domain and the entire world cluster.
Besides the Destruction Domain, the only thing remaining was the Cosmic Universe, with every other world and being residing within it having perished during the latest catastrophe.
For a while, the world cluster remained silent.
Until finally...
A deafening explosion echoed from the depths of the Domain.
The aura of destruction permeating it suddenly rioted. Black lightning raged.
Just then, an enormous figure emerged from its very center, peeking out from the sea of black lightning without suffering any damage.
It was formed from dense black mist, with a single mask covering the area where its face was supposed to be.
The mask depicted a terrifying Devil.
It had a pair of sharp fangs, each extending from the sides of its mouth, while a furious expression was engraved on its face.
Anger! This was the only word that could be used to describe it!
Black mist continuously coiled around the figure and fused with its body, making its momentum grow stronger with each passing second.
Whoever looked at the black mist would suddenly lose control over their emotions, becoming furious at anything and everyone around them.
Wrath Avatar!
One of the seven Sin Avatars of the Primordial Sin Art!
Judging from its current appearance, it had also grown to the Ancient Devil level, no weaker than the Gluttony Avatar Liora had practiced.
Yet its appearance was far from the end.
The black mist began to swirl violently out of nowhere.
It suddenly split into several different mists, each with a different unique color.
Black. Red. Golden. Gray.
Likewise, the mask the Sin Avatar was wearing also split into seven, as did its head.
Each mask was different.
A Devil with an arrogant expression—Pride Avatar.
A Devil with its eyes closed and sleeping—Sloth Avatar.
A Devil with the appearance of a succubus—Lust Avatar.
Envy. Greed.
Gluttony. Wrath.
In unison, seven different Sin Avatars emerged, their figures flashing before overlapping.
The different Sins they represented resonated.
The final figure’s aura started to soar.
Alone, each Sin Avatar was shown to possess Ancient Devil strength.
When they came together, their powers not only worked seamlessly but also boosted one another, making their combined strength even more terrifying!
Even the Destruction Domain trembled violently.
The black lightning rioted, as though it was ready to defend itself.
For a moment, even the Origin Sea seemed to have frozen, fearful of the incoming battle.
Fortunately for it, and for the beings within the Cosmic Universe, the two powers did not clash.
Moments later, the Sin Avatars turned into nothingness, disappearing into the center of the Destruction Domain.
Noticing this, the power of destruction also calmed down, seemingly unwilling to involve itself any further.
Before long, calmness returned to the Origin Sea.
No one could have guessed that mere moments ago, there had been a chance of an earth-shattering battle breaking out.
Even the beings in the Cosmic Universe, who would have suffered greatly, knew nothing about the danger they had almost gotten themselves into.
In the entire Origin Sea, only a single person knew the truth.
–
"Finally mastered the last Sin Avatar." Liora softly exhaled, checking her new abilities as the Sin Avatars returned to her body.
Then, she looked at the calm Destruction Domain around her, a trace of vicissitude flashing across her eyes.
"Has it already been six years?" Liora muttered, feeling the changes within herself.
They were shocking.
Mastering the Primordial Sin Art was only one aspect.
Besides that, whether it was her practice of the other techniques, the improvement of the Cosmic Sea, or even her study of the Destruction Domain, she had made great progress in all of them.
For beings of her level, six years should have been nothing.
Even thousands or millions of years were merely a nap. Let alone improving their strength, even making any progress at all was difficult.
Yet Liora’s strength had transformed once again during this otherwise short period of time.
If she were to meet the self who had just refined the Cosmic Universe, Liora would be able to defeat her easily.
"Unfortunately, it’s difficult to make any further progress. I’ve already digested everything the Cosmic Universe could give me."
"My control over the world has reached its limit. The World Origin that could be used has already been used."
"All my techniques have been mastered."
"Whether it is the memories of the ’Human Emperor’ or the information from the Information World, they have all been digested."
"Unless I stay here for thousands of years, it will be difficult to make any more significant progress."
Liora knew it was time to leave. In fact, she had already had that thought a couple of years ago.
However, she had been waiting for two things.
One, the completion of the System’s upgrade.
Second, to keep the promises she had once made.
Unfortunately, the former showed no signs of progress.
[IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII | 99.999%]
Glancing at the progress bar, which had reached this point a year ago but had not moved since then, Liora sighed.
Clearly, her previous estimate had been both wrong and correct.
Five years was indeed enough for the progress bar to fill up. However, since reaching this point, it had been stuck at 99.999%, not moving an inch.
She guessed that it needed a certain catalyst for the upgrade to truly be completed.
Liora could do nothing to bypass this restriction. The most she could do was wait.
"Fortunately, my second goal has finally made some progress," Liora whispered.
The next moment, her consciousness descended into the Cosmic Sea.
Her gaze focused on a very familiar grand world—the Veythalis World.
The moment her eyes fell on its two planes, Liora felt an invisible power rise from the Mortal Plane.
At the same time, a familiar voice echoed in her ears.
