Chapter 1095 — Book 2: Chapter 292: Crazy bastard. And an even crazier bastard (1)
11 min read ·
Pope Casillia was the one to organize the situation.
“Inquisitor 3, first let go of his collar.”
Inquisitor 3 saw the Pope's hand over hers.
She then flinched.
Parts of the Pope's hand had scales on it.
She was a Dragon half-blood losing the power to maintain her human form.
As Inquisitor 3’s pupils started shaking as she knew the meaning behind that…
“Wouldn’t it be better for everybody to calm down and talk it out?”
‘Hmm?’
Although she was pretending to be gentle, she was calm yet indifferent.
She thought that this was the Pope's true appearance.
“And yes, this knight is that sir's knight. He is not the Dragon Lord-nim’s Guardian Knight.”
“Of course. My sword is not something I would offer to a mere Dragon Lord.”
The Pope clenched her eyes shut as Clopeh laughed and calmly answered.
Her gaze, which seemed to say that she was looking at a crazy bastard she could not handle, made Inquisitor 3 calm down and realize that a conversation was necessary. She released her grip.
“Pope-nim. We need a place to chat.”
The red-haired man stepped forward at that moment.
It was the supposed liege of this knight in front of her.
“I will prepare it right away.”
The Pope let out a sigh-filled answer.
“It looks like there are a lot of things to get done. First, we need to get a new door.”
Inquisitor 3 let out a fake cough and bowed as the Pope looked toward the destroyed door.
“I'm truly sorry. I was in such a rush that… I will take care of the expenses.”
‘Hooo.’
Cale's eyes clouded over while watching these women.
The Pope and an Inquisitor…
He heard that they were hostile toward each other.
Nonetheless, Inquisitor 3 and the Pope's people didn't give off such a bad vibe to each other.
The Bishops were angry at Inquisitor 3 for destroying the door, entering without permission, and causing a ruckus, but that was anger toward the situation. It was not loathing or hatred toward the person.
The Pope started taking care of the situation.
“Third Bishop-nim, please proceed with the Commander’s request.”
Hons would contact Raon.
Then Raon and Choi Han would come here.
“First Bishop-nim, please escort Inquisitor 3 and the Commander-nim.”
First Bishop. The individual who was always by the Pope's side slightly bowed toward Cale.
The Pope looked at Cale and commented.
“I think I will need to go see Axion after I clean things up a bit. I feel like he will make the offer to me soon.”
“Please don’t feel rushed.”
The Pope chuckled at Cale’s casual response and turned away from him.
Inquisitor 3 had never seen the Pope chatting so peacefully with a human before. She settled her mind which was getting more and more chaotic and thought to herself.
‘I thought the Pope always spoke respectfully of Axion in front of the Inquisitors?’
But she was just calling him Axion with no honorifics.
But she was using honorifics for this human.
‘What is going on?’
Who was this red-haired man?
The confused Inquisitor 3 turned her head to look at Cale and then flinched.
‘Mm.’
The red-haired man was quietly observing her.
It was similar to when the Dragon Lord was scoping out to see if the individual in front of him was useful.
She was feeling an unexplainable feeling of anxiety from this human when the First Bishop stepped in.
“Please follow me.”

The reception room in the building was quite old-fashioned but beautiful.
Cale touched the armrest of a chair that looked old but well-maintained to retain its vintage flair as he opened his mouth to speak.
“That scabbard.”
Inquisitor 3 flinched.
Cale, Clopeh, Inquisitor 3, and the First Bishop were the only ones in the room right now.
Chhh-
Clopeh was pouring some tea for Cale.
Inquisitor 3 blankly watched him before biting her lips as Cale pointed at the scabbard.
Cale smiled as he asked.
“The Guardian Knight’s sword. I guess it is the scabbard for that sword?”
‘Damn it.’
Inquisitor 3 held the scabbard in her hand. The scabbard was still shaking.
‘How could I let myself act so scatterbrained?!’
She bit down hard on his lips.
As she thought it was too late to feign ignorance…
“I'm sure the Dragon Lord is desperately looking for the Guardian Knight's sword.”
To be more specific, he was looking for the three treasures that the future seeing Maxillienne stole.
“I think he would have had an easier time looking for the sword if he had that scabbard.”
Cale smiled brightly.
"By the looks of it, you’ve been hiding that scabbard, Inquisitor 3-nim.”
Cale’s tone was extremely cheeky.
“Why did you do that? I’m soooooo curious to know.”
A refreshing laugh came out of his mouth.
“I guess we can’t let the Dragon Lord have the sword?”
Inquisitor 3 clenched her eyes closed.
“…Human. No, sir, who are you?”
The white-haired knight… She thought that she should learn some things about this red-haired man before learning more about the knight.
Of course, she knew that this person would not tell her everything but she still had to ask.
Only then would she be able to turn the arrow of questions, which was pointed at her right now, to point back to them again.
‘I'm sure that this guy will try to hide his identity. Then I can use that to push the control of the conversation to me.’
Inquisitor 3 sat up straight in order to make sure that she focused.
The man's voice reached her ears at that moment.
“My name is Cale Henituse. I am here to get rid of the Purple Bloods. For reference, that would make the Dragon Lord my final enemy here. We are also the ones who fought against Ryan.”
‘Huh?
What did I just hear?’
Inquisitor 3 felt like her mind was getting rattled again.
Cale just calmly continued to speak.
“For your information, this wooden sword that the Dragon Lord is looking for… Sir Clopeh Sekka is the new owner of the Guardian Knight's sword and he will not use it for the Dragon Lord.”
Cale took a sip of tea.
‘It’s sweet. This is not lemon tea. These are the times I really feel Ron’s absence.’
Clopeh was far from reaching Ron's level.
“For your information, we are here to take care of the Third Saint Dragon before the Dragon Lord returns. We also plan on meeting with the World Tree to cut off the connection to the foundation of this world.”
The First Bishop became anxious.
“Commander! How could you tell her about all of that-”
“It’s okay, it’s okay.”
Cale was still calm.
“I received a request from the foundation of this world. A month, no, now less than three weeks. We need to extend the life of this world which only has a little more than two weeks left. Haha-”
“…….”
Cale quietly laughed before continuing to speak while Inquisitor 3 slowly turned pale.
“Ah, for your information, I am working with the church, but… The Pope-nim wishes to destroy, not save this world. But we have a temporary alliance as she also wants us to hunt the Dragons of the Purple Bloods.”
“Mm.”
The First Bishop groaned and clenched his eyes shut.
Chhh–
Clopeh was pouring tea into the cup in front of him.
“…….”
Inquisitor 3's mind blanked out as she sat there flabbergasted.
‘What am I listening to right now?’
Forget thinking about controlling the conversation, she felt like she would lose her mind over what she was hearing.
But she got chills after hearing what Cale said next.
“Inquisitor 3, Elza. I heard that your tribe has been famous for generations for creating weapons?”
An even brighter smile appeared on Cale’s face.
Raon would have said it was his scamming smile if he was here. Unfortunately, Raon was not here yet.
Cale and Clopeh were the only ones here.
‘I feel oddly worried!’
Cale suddenly recalled what Raon had said before he came here, but he ignored it.
He was certain that was Raon being worried about Clopeh.
“Inquisitor 3-nim, I heard that your tribe was the one to make the Guardian Knight's wooden sword as well. I also heard that the last tribe leader of your tribe has lost their life.”
Elza clenched her fists.
“Miss Elza, I heard that the last tribe leader was your uncle.”
‘Fuck.’
Elza clenched her eyes shut.
The Pope. The problem was that she came to scope out the Pope and got so shocked at the scabbard reacting that she charged in without thinking.
‘I should have been calm.
Why did I act like this?’
“I heard that the last generation's tribe leader, the Grand Elder, is currently serving as gardener to look after the World Tree. Oh my, this is quite entertaining.”
Cale's tone was warm.
“Inquisitor 3-nim, I heard that you have quite the fame for completing any and all orders until now. Such a figure holding that scabbard… Does the Dragon Lord know about this?
Haha.”
Cale gently laughed again.
“In my opinion, he does not. Am I right?”
“…….”
Elza still had her eyes shut without being able to say anything.
Cale quietly observed her.
Cale naturally gathered more information about the Inquisitors before coming here.
This info was from Pope Casillia and not King Dennis, so there was a lot of high quality information. Cale was able to learn a lot of things from it.
Information about Elza was considered very important.
‘The World Tree and the wooden sword. She is related to both of those things.’
Elza.
As Inquisitor 3, she was Axion's hunting dog.
She was known as Elf Butcher because she would accomplish anything he ordered her to do.
The way she killed anything when given orders was not fitting the noble name of Elf.
She would walk around covered in blood, which made the names others called her slowly turn more and more vicious.
“…Did you say your name is Cale Henituse?”
Elza opened her eyes.
Cale’s smile became even wider.
She continued to speak. Her tone was a bit, no, quite solemn.
“You said that your goal is to take down the Dragon Lord?”
“Yes it is.”
Cale answered in a refreshing manner. He then asked her a question.
"What is your goal?”
Elza closed her mouth.
But Cale didn’t need to hear it from her.
“I think I have an idea even without you saying anything.”
How could he not?
He heard that Elza’s tribe would have perished if the Grand Elder did not offer his services and surrendered.
Her tribe did not receive any contempt and could continue to live because Elza was Inquisitor 3.
So where would that grudge have gone?
It probably remained, waiting to stab the dagger in someday. That would be the reason she had this scabbard with her.
‘I’m just surprised she didn't get caught until now.’
Well, it made sense because the scabbard only reacted once the wooden sword appeared. Others probably considered it to be a peculiar scabbard.
‘No.’
Cale’s gaze sank for a moment.
‘Axion.’
That bastard was quite smart.
He heard that Axion kept Elza by his side.
He also kept the Grand Elder alive as a gardener.
Would such a bastard not have noticed Elza’s scabbard?
‘It's impossible to tell.’
Axion. He would need to come face to face with the Third Saint Dragon or chat with him to get a sense.
Cale did not rashly make judgments.
However, he still felt relaxed.
It allowed him to keep talking despite no answer from Elza.
“I was contemplating whether we would have to sneak in to see the World Tree or destroy everything to reach it. I am quite lucky to have met you, Miss Elza.”
Cale looked at the flinching Elza and asked.
“I would like to meet the Grand Elder. Would you be able to set that up for us?”
“…….”
Elza bit down on her lips.
She then slowly avoided Cale’s gaze and looked down.
The First Bishop, who was keeping a close eye on her, motioned to Cale with his eyes.
He then mouthed some words.
‘Escape.’
Cale’s smile became even wider.
The First Bishop was sharing his concern that Elza might be trying to escape.
Cale naturally didn't pay it much attention.
“Miss Elza.”
There was a simple reason as to why Cale was so relaxed.
Clopeh was here and everybody in this building was on Cale’s side.
This Elf would get caught even if she tried to escape.
Plus-
‘Will she be able to escape?’
Cale’s mouth opened again.
“Are you thinking of running away?”
It was at that moment.
Elza was peeking at the reception room window when she got the chills.
‘Axion-’
Had Axion shown up here?
Was this his Dragon Fear?
That was the first thought.
It was because her mind was going blank.
‘No!’
This was not that crazy bastard's power.
A deeper instinctual fear than the fear Axiom gave her seemed to be suppressing her.
She could not raise her head.
‘No way-’
She heard a gentle voice by her ears.
“Do you think you can run away?”
The red-haired man…
The aura around her fluctuated following the low laughter of Cale Henituse.
Elza had to give up on running away.
* * *
Crown prince Alberu Crossman raised his head and looked up.
This lush forest…
A half-transparent window that popped up over it…
She was used to this half-transparent item now.
Alberu had experienced many new things while playing this virtual reality game. He slowly frowned.
