< Strongest Under the Heavens (5)>
Cale stood right up befitting his current role as an attendant.
"Aigoo, our dear-”
‘Our dear highness and Miss Rosalyn-!’
But he could not finish that sentence.
– Human, the crown prince and Rosalyn look like they are part of the Beggars' Gang.
‘I know, right?
What is up with this beggar look?’
The approaching Alberu and Rosalyn looked so dirty that even the members of the Beggars' Gang would call them hyung-nim and noonim.
“I'm hungry.”
And the words the two of them said as soon as they met rather than a greeting…
“Mm.”
Cale's face became unsettled.
“By the way, that does not suit you at all.”
And the words the crown prince said while looking at Cale's blonde hair and blue eyes…
“Mm.”
Cale's face turned even more unsettled as he scowled.
The two of them looked different, but they had the same blonde hair and blue eyes, making them look like siblings.
"Well, anyway, please sit down.”
As Cale opened his mouth with the unsettled look still on his face…
“Ugh!”
Cale let out a groan.
Baaaaaang-!
There was a sudden explosion.
‘Eek!’
Cale was pushed down on the table.
The person that pushed him down-
‘… Choi Han!’
It was Choi Han.
Choi Han had jumped up to protect Cale’s back but crashed into him and pushed Cale down onto the table.
‘What the hell? What is going on?’
Cale wanted to see what was going on, but…
– Human! You almost got a knife in your back!
After hearing Raon’s comment…
‘Let’s just stay here.’
He decided to just remain down on the table.
Bang! Baaaaang!
He heard multiple noises.
Crack! Crack!
He also heard the ceiling breaking.
What was going on?
– Human, you just stay there and let Choi Han protect you.
It had been a while since Cale had happily accepted Raon’s advice like this.
“Ugh!”
The moment he heard someone's groan…
“Ugh!”
“Ugh!”
He heard two more groans.
‘There were more than one assassins?’
Cale's eyes opened wide.
Why did nobody tell me that there were multiple?
Cale got a bit scared.
Actually, that was not all.
“Hiccup!”
“Gasp.”
“Mmph!”
The second floor. The people at the other tables other than Cale’s group, the Sword Ghost, and the Knight of Abundance, all gasped or curled up.
Shhhhhh-!
A dagger went flying through the air toward one of them.
“!”
The dagger had flown so swiftly that the person could not even make a sound.
Tang!
The dagger's direction was easily changed.
“… … !”
The martial artist's eyes headed toward the person standing in front of him.
The blonde-haired knight had easily swung his spear to block the dagger.
“T, thank-”
The man could not speak easily right now but the handsome knight just smiled elegantly. He seemed to be shining.
“It was nothing.”
Of course, he looked like a beggar in the process.
“Ugh.”
“… Ugh!”
A total of five assassins were rolling on the restaurant floor.
“…….”
The Sword Ghost looked at the five of them before his gaze moved.
“…….”
Kim Hae-Yi.
The Heavenly Demon was still sitting down.
However, five chopsticks that had been in a container had disappeared.
‘The moment Kim Hae-Yi’s attendant got up and welcomed the two people approaching them…
Daggers flew over from all around the second floor.’
The daggers had come from the ceiling, ground, windows, basically everywhere.
‘The guard and the spearman blocked them all.’
They had easily blocked all of the daggers.
— !
There had been no sound, yes, not even the sound of the wind.
The afterimages were something only someone at the level of the Sword Ghost would be able to see.
‘Yes, those were afterimages.’
Even the Sword Ghost had not been able to see it clearly.
There had simply been faint afterimages every time Kim Hae-Yi moved his hand, followed by something being stabbed into the assassins’ bodies.
He learned that they were five chopsticks once everything had ended.
‘They are all at pressure points.’
Each of the chopsticks had stabbed into critical pressure points.
‘… He can handle daggers at this level?’
The Sword Ghost got chills.
Kim Hae-Yi.
This bastard…
No, who was this person?
At first, he wondered if this guy was one of the reclusive former generation experts from the five major factions.
He looked young, but his true age might be much greater.
‘No. Absolutely not.’
The Five major forces…
It was definitely something greater than that.
‘Maybe he is the secret successor of the Lan Kingdom?
No.
That was not possible.’
Based on the information the Sword Ghost knew, Queen Tamahi did not have that power right now.
‘Who are you?
Kim Hae-Yi, just who are you?’
The Sword Ghost wanted to ask but he could not do so.
“…….”
They were in the south.
In the Lan Kingdom, it would not be weird to do things without thinking and die while fighting.
Although this was a game, the Sword Ghost had been treating it as reality.
Clunk.
Someone stood up at that moment.
“!”
The Sword Ghost’s eyebrows slightly rose up.
‘The Knight of Abundance.’
She suddenly stood up.
“Mm.”
The Sword Ghost instantly understood the reason.
The Knight of Abundance.
The person who, in this world where they were treated as foreigners making it difficult to become a ranker in the holy factions, made it to the highest-grade ranker position of 12th as a Holy Knight.
She had a reason to do so.
“You dare-”
The Knight of Abundance.
Her eyes were rolling over.
‘Eek!’
Cale, who was a bit curled up as he turned around to look at the Knight of Abundance, got shocked.
‘Her eyes!’
– Human, her eyes have completely rolled over!
It was as Raon had said.
No, it was more accurate to say it had changed.
The whites of the eyes and the gold pupils had slowly changed, making the eyes glow gold.
“You dare to bring forth your swords and cause bloodshed in the precious and holy time of eating-”
Plop.
The girl knelt down on one knee and picked up the plates that had fallen from the commotion.
She picked up and placed the food back on the plate before returning the plates back on the ground and making a gesture. He was probably going to pray following the words of the Church of Abundance…
“…….”
“…….”
An odd sensation flowed through.
The assassins must have calmed down a bit now as they were peeking at each other. Of course, they were holding back their pain as they did so.
“A meal is a precious time where the fruits of abundance are gathered together.”
The other customers all peeked around as well.
“Those who disturb such a sacred time are people who do not know the preciousness of Abundance. Please show pity upon them.”
The innkeeper and the owner, who had come up to the second floor in shock, remained quiet without knowing what to do.
That was how holy the Knight of Abundance's actions looked.
As even Kim Hae-Yi quietly watched her…
‘Now's the time.’
One of the assassins stealthily tried to escape.
At that moment…
The Knight of Abundance opened her mouth.
She smiled brightly.
She had just prayed.
A meal is a precious time where the fruits of abundance are gathered together. Those who bother such a sacred time are people who do not know the preciousness of Abundance. Please show pity upon them.
She smiled as she spoke.
“Oh Abundance. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to punish.”
‘Mm!’
Cale's eyes opened wide.
– Human, as expected, she is crazy!
As Raon and Cale had the same thoughts…
Clang.
The Knight of Abundance quickly pulled out her sword and swung it.
It was at that moment.
"Block it.”
The Heavenly Demon commented.
Clang!
The Knight of Abundance's sword was blocked.
“…….”
As the smile disappeared from her face, her eyes were looking at Choi Han, who was standing there stoically.
‘What a brilliant move.’
The Sword Ghost was amazed.
That simple movement…
The guard knight’s sword showed a deep knowledge of martial arts.
‘But it should be difficult to block that crazy bitch.’
The Knight of Abundance.
She was also known as the lunatic of abundance.
She was called a crazed believer because people could not come up with a worse term to describe her.
“…….”
She looked toward the Heavenly Demon, who was still sitting leisurely behind Choi Han.
As he leaned against the chair and leisurely smiled…
His relaxed yet oddly heavy voice came out of his mouth.
“Those things are now mine.”
He was talking about the assassins.
“You do not have the qualifications to get rid of them.”
“Mm.”
Cale flinched and quickly sat up.
‘He’s angry.’
The Heavenly Demon was quite angry right now.
– Human, I think the Heavenly Demon is angry right now. Why is that?
Raon didn’t know the reason but Cale figured it out.
The Knight of Abundance opened her mouth.
“I know that the assassins have come for you, mister. But this is not my will but the will of the great God of Abundance. So please do not stop me.”
She spoke firmly.
“It is the will of a god.”
‘Aigoo.’
Cale clenched his eyes shut before looking at the Heavenly Demon again.
‘He’s even more angry now.’
The reason was clear.
The Heavenly Demon shook his head.
His silk-like hair fluttered but his voice was not as smooth as his hair.
“That will not do.”
The Heavenly Demon was quiet but angry.
“I have already told you.”
The Heavenly Demon was the living god of the Demon Cult.
“Those things are now mine.”
The Heavenly Demon's gaze headed toward the Knight of Abundance.
The moment they made eye contact…
‘!
The Knight of Abundance felt a chill.
It felt as if her entire body was on its edge.
It was as if-
‘Yeah.’
It felt like a god was warning her.
The assassin did not even dare to move.
The blonde-haired spearman and the guard knight were looking down at them.
The Knight of Abundance opened her mouth.
"The will of a god-”
Is something you cannot bend.
She tried to say that, but…
Someone started to speak at the same time.
"Aigoo, our dear young master-nim~”
A person moved in between them to interrupt their gazes.
‘!
The Knight of Abundance's eyes clouded over again.
It was the blonde-haired attendant.
He urgently rushed in before speaking frivolously, which did not suit his face at all.
“Of course, of course. These bastards tried to kill us. Of course we should be the one to take care of them.”
Cale had his back toward the Knight of Abundance as he spoke in a nice tone.
However, Cale was scowling while looking at the Heavenly Demon.
‘Let's take things nice and easy, okay?’
The Heavenly Demon understood what Cale meant by his gaze and chuckled before turning his head.
Cale quickly turned and approached the Knight of Abundance.
“If the will of the god is not something you personally have to carry out, we will carry it out for you, Miss Knight.
Shouldn't we at least get to figure out the people behind this that tried to kill us?”
Cale smiled brightly and looked around.
Everybody seemed to agree with him.
It was because what he said was true.
Furthermore, causing any more bloodshed in this place will bring misfortune to the people who have to eat here today, don’t you think so?”
The innkeeper and owner fiercely nodded their heads.
“We will properly carry out the will of the God of Abundance.”
“…….”
She did not answer.
She would not be called a crazed believer if she would settle things like this.
‘Not possible.’
The Sword Ghost shook his head.
This attendant could not stop the Knight of Abundance.
He peeked around.
In addition to the regular people, there were a lot of others who had come to scope these people out.
This crazed believer knew that as well, so she would not yield.
“Miss Knight. If you cannot trust us, we will hand them over to you at the end. Could you please wait to personally carry out the will of the God of Abundance at that time?”
Cale believed this was as much as the Heavenly Demon was willing to give.
However, most of the people here knew that the Knight of Abundance would reject such an offer.
Would a situation like this never have happened in the past?
She never yielded.
“You-”
She opened her mouth at that moment.
“Who are you?”
There was an odd silence.
‘Hmm?
The Sword Ghost moved his gaze from the Knight of Abundance to the attendant.
The attendant?
This guy did not look like an easy person to deal with either, but…
“I am our young master-nim's attendant.”
Cale smiled brightly.
But he was scared on the inside.
‘Has she realized that I am the Third Evil and the Seventh Evil?’
Cale was uncomfortable around the Knight of Abundance because she was a ranker with a holy disposition.
It would be quite the headache if someone learned that he was part of the evil disposition right now.
“There's a scent coming from you-”
As the Knight of Abundance opened her mouth… A message came into her mind.
– Stop.
A cold voice spoke to her.
It was almost like a dagger.
She then heard that voice in her ears as well.
“Take care of them.”
The Heavenly Demon gave the order to Choi Han. Choi Han silently knocked all five assassins unconscious.
One after the other.
The Knight of Abundance stared at him before finally speaking.
"We will do as you wish.”
She looked right at Cale as she said that.
‘Mm.
What is up with her?’
Cale felt an unexplainable sense of unease.
‘Did we get caught?
Is she going to try to get rid of me?’
As he became scared…
The Knight of Abundance silently got up and returned to her seat.
She then started to eat again.
She looked quite reverent as she did that.
However, before she placed the spoon in her mouth, she looked past the blankly staring people and at Cale’s group. Specifically, she looked at Cale as she spoke.
The ground is the start of everything. The tree that grows on the ground is the fruit. Everything is the will of Abundance.”
She then continued to eat with a reverent look on her face.
– Cale, Cale! Did we get caught?
The Super Rock asked in shock.
– I'm the tree.
The glutton priestess nonchalantly commented in a slow voice.
– Exactly. I think she recognized me and the glutton. But how?
As the Super Rock was shocked and the glutton was quiet…
Cale was relieved.
‘That’s it? I thought she found out that I was the hidden boss.’
He didn’t know the reason, but the Knight of Abundance seemed to have noticed a few of the ancient powers that he possessed.
This was the truth.
‘… So refreshing.’
Actually, she had followed Cale to this place.
The pure scent of dirt.
The refreshing fragrance of wood.
The clear eyes of the person that carried both of these scents.
She had followed Cale as if she was bewitched.
‘Who is he?’
Dirt and trees.
They were existences that cannot be missing from the Church of Abundance.
‘He is not an Elementalist.’
It wasn’t something that simple.
‘It’s something a bit more fundamental-’
Something a bit more instinctual.
Something a bit more from the origin-
Flinch.
“…….”
She stopped eating for a moment.
She then found the answer.
‘… Nature.’
Yes. She could feel the scent of nature coming from this man.
The scent of the purest and most beautiful thing in the world.
The Knight of Abundance. She resumed eating as if nothing was wrong, but the mood sank even deeper.
The Knight of Abundance was about to peek at Cale again when she flinched.
“…….”
“…….”
The Heavenly Demon was staring right at her.
‘Stop.’
She recalled the warning that he had sent her.
The Knight of Abundance turned her gaze and continued to eat.
These people…
It seemed as if she needed to look into them a bit more.
It felt as if the God of Abundance was telling her to do so.
And at the same time…
Once Choi Han said that he would go take care of the assassins with Alberu and then come back, the Heavenly Demon told Cale to sit.
‘Why?’
As Cale’s scowling gaze headed toward the Heavenly Demon…
He heard two voices.
– Human! The person that is similar to Grandpa Ron did not move!
– Those assassins are bait.
Raon. And the Heavenly Demon.
‘What?’
Cale was surprised but he understood.
‘I guess it makes sense. Raon said that the guy resembles Ron.’
He wouldn't call any assassin as resembling Ron.
He would only say that for someone who had Ron's level of abilities.
– I left that bastard alone on purpose.
It was at that moment.
Someone appeared on the second floor window.
“Meeow!”
It was Hong.
Others would just see the cat, but Hong had shown up when he and On were supposed to be on the roof. On should be looking after Eden Miru.
Smile.
Cale figured out the situation.
“You guys must have found it as well?”
“Meeeeeow.”
Hong happily answered.
He then tapped on the window sill with his legs.
He seemed to be telling Cale to leave it to him.
"Raon, you go too.”
Raon did not miss Cale’s quiet whisper.
“Our, mm… Mr. Attendant?”
Cale slowly turned his gaze.
It was Rosalyn.
Cale understood what she was trying to say.
“May I leave it to you? I know you must be tired.”
“This is just a little walk.”
Rosalyn decided to step up as Raon and Hong’s guardian.
“Let’s talk about the rest after my little walk.”
“I hope you have a peaceful walk.”
Cale was telling her not to go anywhere dangerous.
“Of course.”
Rosalyn understood and got up to head down to the first floor.
– I'll be back! The Heavenly Demon will protect you!
“Meeow!”
Hong and Raon followed behind her.
Cale then looked at the Heavenly Demon. The Heavenly Demon sent a sound transmission as if he was responding to Cale’s gaze.
– People aiming for our lives… We need to dig out who is behind it, right?
Of course, Cale agreed with him.
* * *
While that was going on…
At a building across the street from the restaurant… The woman who was hiding by the window to look inside could not hold back her ground.
“Ugh!”
Drip.
She started to bleed from her eyes.
An old man approached the woman who was dressed like an assassin.
“Child, what is it?”
This woman was someone the Dark Pulse treasured very much.
She had a special ability.
She was an Identifier.
She could look into a person's true nature as if it was a prophecy.
“Ugh. Ugh!”
The old man had never seen her cough blood like this.
“Are you okay? Should we call the doctor?”
The old man was also an assassin and they were both currently hiding, but the woman in front of him came first.
She was basically his granddaughter, someone he had pampered and raised.
“Huff, huff. No.”
The woman barely caught her breath and addressed the old man.
“Master. We must go to the Alliance leader-nim right away.”
Her voice was shaking.
“What, what is it?”
The old man had never seen his disciple act like this before.
The Shadow Murderer of the Dark Pulse's Six top figures…
This girl was the disciple and someone as precious as his own grandchild to the old man who led the assassins.
The woman, who would become the next generation’s Shadow Murderer, continued to speak quickly.
“The bait is not the issue right now. T, the threats from the wanderers is not the issue! I'm sure they’ve already found us.”
“Huh? What do you mean by that? We should quickly run if we are discovered! Our backing will be revealed if we head to the Alliance leader!”
“No, that, this, what I mean is… Anyway, we need to hurry over to the Alliance leader to tell him. We need to tell him who we messed with!”
The rambling woman urgently shouted.
Flash.
She opened her eyes that had been closed.
Her eyes were clear and focused despite the bloody tears.
“Evil!”
“What?”
“The greatest of all evils……!”
She had truly seen something dreadful.
She couldn't even fathom what she had seen.
However, she had seen something clearly.
“The Hell that we dare not try to take… ”
The person standing at the top of that hell…
"The ruler of hell is here!”
The woman’s voice was shaking while the old man barely opened his mouth.
“… Kim Hae-Yi is the Evil from Hell?”
Kim Hae-Yi, the person who qualified in the shortest period of time…
They had thrown out some feelings because the Alliance leader had told them to kill this man.
However, the bait was not the issue anymore.
The old man could see his disciple shake her head at his question.
“No, sir! Not him!”
‘What?’
It was not Kim Hae-Yi?
"The attendant!”
‘The attendant?’
The old man thought about the blonde-haired attendant.
"The attendant-”
She was shaking.
"Evil. The existence who receives the worship of all evils.”
Something truly dreadful had appeared in the Lan Kingdom.
She could not hide her shaking.
* * *
“… Oh, young master-nim, this is delicious!”
As for Cale, he was happily eating some noodles in a soup with a bunch of meat.
