Chapter 1698 — Chapter 1698 Hellfire Dragon

After returning to the Divine Dragon Sanctuary, Long Wu Qing ignored the nearby stares being tossed her way and looked for Yuan's fight.

Once she found it, she disappeared into thin air, appearing at the location it was being broadcasted a moment later.

Her sudden appearance terrified those nearby, causing them to flee as if their lives depended on it.

"I see… so that's how he fights…" Long Wu Qing muttered with a slight smile on her face as she analyzed Yuan's fight.

If someone were to look at her right now, they'd never imagine she had killed her own little brother just moments ago based on her calm and nonchalant demeanor.

"Oh, I remember now." Yuan suddenly spoke as he dodged the Hellfire Dragon's attack.

"We've fought before," he continued.

"What the fuck are you talking about?" Hellfire Dragon halted his movements to ask. He was certain they had never fought before.

"Well, you didn't fight the current me, but Tian Yi," Yuan explained.

"I recall fighting you near the end of my journey. It happened quite long ago, so I don't blame you if you don't remember. You had the appearance of a female human at that time, too."

Although the Hellfire Dragon had the appearance of a human man at this moment, he also had female appearances in his collection. When he first encountered Yuan, he was in his female appearance. The reason Yuan recognized him despite his new appearance was simply because of his unique presence.

Just like how one could identify Long Wu Qing through her tyrannical presence, one could also identify the Hellfire Dragon through his fiery presence.

While beings in the Primal Expanse also had genders, such as male and female, some of them tended to adopt whatever appearance they preferred. The distinction between a female human and a male human was mostly cosmetic in their eyes.

The Hellfire Dragon was a male dragon, but he preferred a female human's appearance. Hell, even his male appearance was very feminine and could easily be mistaken as a female from afar.

The Hellfire Dragon became silent to ponder Yuan's words.

'The last time I fought a human was—'

His eyes widened after realizing the meaning behind Yuan's words.

"Y-you! You were that bastard human from back then?!" Hellfire Dragon cried out loud as he recalled some bitter memories.

"N-now that I take a good look at your face, you definitely resemble that human! But how is that possible?! You only have a single Chaotic Heart, not to mention your cultivation!"

Yuan merely smiled at his confusion, refusing to explain further.

After learning that Yuan was Tian Yi, the Hellfire Dragon's eyes flickered with fear. He had been badly beaten in the past by Tian Yi, hence his hatred toward humans. "Are you remembering that day?" Yuan suddenly inquired. "You should've just left me alone. If you hadn't provoked me, I wouldn't have done that to you."

Hellfire Dragon's entire being trembled after Yuan mentioned a certain event.

A few hundred million years ago, the Hellfire Dragon encountered Tian Yi and provoked him, threatening to make him a human pet. Tian Yi became so enraged that he plucked every single one of Hellfire Dragon's scales, turning him into a scaleless dragon for millions of years until his scales eventually grew back.

That incident had humiliated the Hellfire Dragon to such an extent that it drove him to the brink of insanity. Consumed by the desire for revenge, he trained like a madman until he became a powerhouse. It could be said that Tian Yi was the catalyst who shaped the Hellfire Dragon into who he is today—one of the formidable Seven Dragon Monarchs.

However, Tian Yi left the Primal Expanse shortly after that incident and never appeared again. After hundreds of millions of years, Hellfire Dragon started to forget about that incident.

"After so long, I have finally found you…" Hellfire Dragon muttered in a shivering tone, his voice filled with excitement.

"I have trained myself to the brink of destruction countless times for this moment!"

The Hellfire Dragon resumed his assault, pouncing at Yuan with a ferocity unlike anything he had shown before. It was as if his power was being fueled by the immense rage he had contained within him for the past several hundred million years.

Yuan remained composed. Despite the Hellfire Dragon's brief boost in power, it was not enough for him to defeat Yuan, who was immune to his fire attacks, and any physical damage dealt would also heal in the blink of an eye.

The Hellfire Dragon had no real means of defeating Yuan, and as the fight dragged on, it became clear he was merely wasting his energy. Each of his attacks, though fierce, lacked the effectiveness needed to overcome Yuan's defenses.

On the other hand, every time Yuan struck with Enhanced Sword Aura, Hellfire Dragon needed to expend energy to recover from the damage.

It was a fight the Hellfire Dragon was destined to lose, and he realized it. However, instead of accepting it calmly like Long Yejun, he became more and more frenzied—desperate.

Eventually, Yuan had enough and decided to end the fight with Heaven Splitting Sword Strike.

He unleashed a massive beam of light that closely resembled a Dragon's Breath. In fact, many onlookers mistook Heaven Splitting Sword Strike as Dragon's Breath.

Hellfire Dragon's figure was completely engulfed by the light. Once the attack ended, he was nowhere to be seen.

A few moments later, Yuan was transported back to the Divine Dragon Sanctuary.

"Congratulations on your victory, Yuan." Long Wu Qing approached him shortly after his return.

"Thank—"

"However, if that's the full extent of your capabilities, I'm afraid you won't qualify to be my opponent," she continued.

"..."

Yuan didn't respond, but it wasn't due to a lack of words. Instead, his attention was drawn to a certain energy lingering around Long Wu Qing.

"Where's Brother Yejun?" Yuan suddenly inquired with a serious expression.

"..."

Long Wu Qing refused to respond, merely staring at him in a deafening silence.

"Did you...?" Yuan's eyes narrowed. He looked at her as if he already knew the answer.

"Yes, I killed him," Long Wu Qing eventually responded, her voice as calm as it could be.
