Chapter 1849 — Chapter 1849 Fate Altering Pill

With just a week left before the tournament began, Yuan sold all of his collected materials and monster cores to the point store.

Using the wealth of points he had accumulated, he purchased the Fate Altering Pill—a priceless treasure from the Primordial Era known for its unparalleled ability to completely transform an individual's innate talent and constitution for the better.

This would not only improve Yuan's talents all around but even have a chance to grant him a unique physique, something his current body did not possess. Although this treasure had cost him an insane four million points, Yuan did not hesitate to spend the points.

Once he acquired the treasure, Yuan returned home and instantly consumed the Fate Altering Pill, spending the next several days in seclusion.

Meanwhile, the other participants used the last few days to sign up for the tournament. The majority of them were between the fourth level and sixth level Spirit Apprentice, and 25,000 points were enough to bankrupt most of them.

Since only Yuan's group was aware of his true progress, the other participants remained confident in their own chances of winning the tournament. As a result, the atmosphere was lively, and spirits were high.

"Where's Yuan? Is he still in seclusion? The enrollment period for the tournament ends tomorrow. If he doesn't sign up by then, he won't be able to participate," Xi Meili asked.

"I saw him rushing back to his house a few days ago. I didn't even get the chance to call for him," Lan Yingying said.

"I'll go disturb him if he doesn't come out by today," Ji Ran said.

The three of them were seated outside Lan Yingying's living quarters. After training for half a year with barely any breaks, the three of them were worn out and needed to take the last few days to relax before the tournament began, hence why they were sipping tea and relaxing together.

"What about Yingzi? Has she arrived at the Immortal Monastery yet? Most of the participants have arrived at the sect by now," Xi Meili wondered out loud.

"Seeing how long it's taking her to arrive is certainly concerning, but there's nothing we can do but hope for the best," Lan Yingying sighed.

A few hours later, Ji Ran and the others noticed Yuan's front door opening. The person himself walked out the next moment.

"Young Master, you're finally out! I was just about to knock on your door," Ji Ran said with a relieved smile.

Yuan smiled and asked, "What's the hurry?"

"The enrollment period of the tournament ends tomorrow—or tonight. If you don't sign up by then, you won't be able to participate in the tournament."

"I know, but I still have time, don't I? Anyway, I'll be back."

After registering for the tournament, Yuan returned to his living quarters to spend his time with the others.

"Yingzi hasn't arrived yet, huh?" Yuan sighed out loud.

"I can't tell you not to worry since I am also a little concerned. However, there are still over two entire years for her to arrive at the sect," Xi Meili said.

Everyone was given four years to get out of the Bamboo Garden, and only a year and a few months have passed since the trials began, so there was still plenty of time for the participants to arrive at the Immortal Monastery.

"There's no point worrying about it since we can't do anything about it but hope for the best," Yuan said.

"Anyway, how did you guys spend the last half a year?" Yuan asked them.

He noticed that Lan Yingying was at the ninth level of Spirit Apprentice while Xi Meili was at the seventh level. Ji Ran had already become a Spirit Warrior, even reaching the second level.

"We spent half of that time cultivating the monster cores you gave us and the other half inside the Hunting Grounds for points. Since we're a three-man group, we needed to collect 75,000 points," Lan Yingying said.

"Three-man? You hunted with them?" Yuan looked at Ji Ran with raised eyebrows. He was sure that Ji Ran was going to do things alone.

"It's not me," Ji Ran shook his head.

"We went hunting with Sister Songyun," said Xi Meili.

"Sister? Since when have you gotten so close?" Yuan's eyes widened with surprise. He also anticipated Tan Songyun would be hunting with her fellow faction members, but that didn't seem to be the case.

"Where is she right now?" Yuan then asked.

"Cultivating inside her room."

"I see… By the way, did the two of you study the technique I recommended to you before?" Yuan asked a moment later.

"The Peerless Immortal Technique? Yes, we went to the library to acquire the technique right afterward. However, it's a very difficult technique. I am barely scratching the surface, even after having it for half a year. That said, I only spend a little time studying it every day. I'll spend more time on it after the tournament," Xi Meili said.

Every disciple of the Immortal Monastery is granted the privilege of learning the Peerless Immortal Technique for free, so Lan Yingying and Xi Meili were able to acquire it without any issues or spending points.

Moreover, unlike the cultivation technique, they were unable to spend points speeding up their memorization progress. Fortunately, the founder did not alter the Peerless Immortal Technique in any way, allowing everyone to study it without any artificial difficulty. However, even without altering its difficulty, the Peerless Immortal Technique would still challenge the geniuses and experienced cultivators doing the trial.

That said, since there were no guidelines or instructions that recommended the participants to learn the technique, it was unknown how many participants actually picked up the Peerless Immortal Technique to study.

"It's a difficult technique, but it'll be worth it. Trust me," Yuan said.

He then looked at Ji Ran and asked, "Just wondering, but what level of the technique did you reach?"

Ji Ran quickly said, "I reached the sixth level before being imprisoned in the Shadow Realm. It hasn't advanced since then for obvious reasons."
