Chapter 2089 — Leaving the Heavenly White Valley
5 min read ·
After many minutes of using Forbidden Blood Extraction on Bai Xutao, Yuan was finally able to extract his blood essence—or more specifically, the blood essence he’d consumed and hadn’t fully refined yet.
Once his blood essence was fully extracted, Bai Xutao, wracked with indescribable pain throughout the ordeal, reverted to his human form and plummeted from the sky, disappearing into the gaping crater below.
Yuan stowed the blood essence away before turning to face the Clan Leader, who was still staring at him with a perplexed face.
"Was that not enough evidence to prove my identity? Should I give you some more evidence?" Yuan asked, making a grasping gesture at him.
The Clan Leader trembled, and after a brief, heavy silence, he suddenly dropped to his knees and bowed deeply before Yuan, kowtowing in the air.
"This humble one greets the Immortal Monarch!" he proclaimed.
As the Clan Leader demonstrated his reverence, the others quickly followed suit, soaring into the air before bowing in unison to greet Yuan.
"The Heavenly White Tiger Clan greets the Immortal Monarch!"
Yuan calmly faced them and spoke, "You’re all probably wondering why I have returned or where I have been since my disappearance. To tell you the truth, I died back then and have been reincarnated."
"Although I have returned, I do not have any intention of getting involved with your Heavenly White Tiger Clan, especially after learning about how you’ve been using my name and how you’re protecting a filth like Bai Xutao because of his bloodline."
"However, since your Ancestor was one of my closest companions, I will give you all a chance to change your ways and stop smearing your Ancestor’s legacy. If you can prove to me that you’re not irredeemable, I will personally elevate your bloodline beyond your imagination."
Everyone there trembled uncontrollably after hearing this, especially the Clan Leader, who was beginning to lose hope.
"Are you willing?" Yuan asked.
"WE ARE WILLING!"
The entire clan responded in unison, their voice loud and clear.
"Good. From this moment onward, I forbid your clan from using my name for your own benefit. Cease the senseless slaughter of your own kin for possessing an inferior bloodline. Moreover, you will take full responsibility and correct every wrong Bai Xutao has brought upon the Nine Heavens. Do I have any objections?"
"WE HAVE NO OBJECTIONS!"
"Clan Leader," Yuan’s voice rang out, sharp and commanding.
"I am at your command!" The Clan Leader replied without hesitation.
Yuan extended his arm, making a subtle beckoning gesture.
"Do you remember the two reasons I came here?" he asked, his tone carrying an air of authority. "Now that I have dealt with one..."
The Clan Leader immediately realized what Yuan wanted and shouted, "Eleventh Elder! Present the Ancient Seal to the Immortal Monarch!"
The Eleventh Elder reacted swiftly, kneeling before Yuan and retrieving the Ancient Seal with reverence.
"Here is the Ancient Seal, Your Excellence."
Yuan accepted the Ancient Seal and tossed it inside his spatial ring.
The Eleventh Elder hesitated before speaking, his voice trembling, "Your Excellency, if I may..."
"What is it?" Yuan asked, his tone unwavering.
"Please, forgive my earlier actions. In my ignorance, I destroyed your precious blood... If you wish to take my life as punishment, I accept it without hesitation."
Yuan then spoke, "I already gave that blood to Bai Ning, so if you’re looking for forgiveness, you’re asking the wrong person."
"I understand. Forgive me for troubling you, Your Excellency." The Eleventh Elder quickly withdrew, lowering his head in shame, too embarrassed to lift his gaze.
"Bai Ning." Yuan suddenly called out to her.
"Y-Yes!"
She instinctively stood up.
"If I recall correctly, you wished to serve me. Has that changed since you last spoke of it?" Yuan asked.
"No, it has not!" she immediately responded.
"I see. Unfortunately, I cannot accept you in your current state. However, I am willing to give you a chance to become someone worthy of serving me."
"I am willing to do anything! What must I do to prove myself?!"
"That is for you to figure out."
"For myself to figure out...?" Bai Ning was dumbfounded.
"In the meantime, I will give you a small blessing."
Yuan bestowed the Immortal Monarch’s Blessing upon her, and in an instant, her bloodline and prowess surged to new heights.
Witnessing this miraculous transformation, those who had still harbored doubts about Yuan’s identity cast aside all suspicion, finally accepting him as the true Immortal Monarch.
"Bai Sulan!" Yuan called out suddenly.
"H-Huh? Me?" Bai Sulan, positioned at the back of the crowd, looked up in surprise, her face filled with astonishment.
Yuan retrieved a glass vial containing his blood and tossed it toward her.
"Catch!"
Bai Sulan fumbled as she hastily caught the vial, almost dropping it in the process.
"That’s my blood," Yuan explained. "It’ll improve your bloodline and make you stronger. Consider it a token of gratitude for guiding me here."
All eyes turned to Bai Sulan, their gazes filled with envy, yet none dared to harbor any malicious intent in the presence of Yuan.
"T-Thank you!" she stammered, bowing deeply in gratitude.
"Now that I have accomplished my goals here, I will be taking my leave," Yuan declared, his voice firm. "If anyone asks, I was never here."
"W-When will you return to us?!" Bai Ning hurriedly asked, her voice tinged with worry.
"Who knows?" Yuan replied with a faint smile. "But the Heavenly White Tiger Clan better have changed their ways by the next time I visit, or... You don’t want to know what I’ll do."
"We won’t disappoint you, Immortal Monarch!" the Clan Leader vowed, his voice filled with determination.
Yuan gave a brief nod, then, in the blink of an eye, he departed from the Heavenly White Valley, swiftly disappearing into the horizon.
Shortly after Yuan’s departure, the Clan Leader called for an emergency meeting with the entire clan. With everyone already present, it was the perfect time to discuss the situation at hand and plan for the clan’s future.
