Chapter 2420 — Chapter 2420 Fighting an Absolute God

Despite saying he wanted to avenge the Demon Sealers killed by the Supreme Ancestor, in truth, it was just an excuse for Yuan to test out his new demon form.

"Arrogant bastard, let's see if you'll still dare to talk once I beat the shit out of you!" The Supreme Ancestor roared as he lunged at Yuan.

"Blood Manipulation!" The Supreme Ancestor summoned a long spear with his own blood.

A crimson sword formed of blood appeared in Yuan's grasp.

Since he wanted to test the limits of his new transformation, as well as his new ability 'Blood Manipulation', Yuan decided to fight the Supreme Ancestor without using any Demon Sealing Aura. "Hahaha! How foolish of you to challenge me, who used to be a Supreme Ruler, with Blood Manipulation!" The Supreme Ancestor laughed as he thrust his crimson spear straight at Yuan's face.

"Foolish?" Yuan murmured, swinging his crimson sword to meet the strike.

Sha!

In the next instant, Yuan's blade sheared the spear cleanly in two.

"Haha—hah?!" The Supreme Ancestor almost choked on his own laughter as he stared at his destroyed weapon in disbelief.

"What?! His Blood Manipulation is even stronger than the Supreme Ancestor's?! How is that possible?!" The Supreme Adviser's eyes nearly bulged from their sockets.

In the Demonic Realm, Blood Manipulation was the most basic and widespread technique, turning one's own blood into power. It was akin to cultivators using Qi Manipulation, but instead of controlling the spiritual energy in the air, they would control the blood in their body, which is made possible only because of their regeneration.

However, its power depended heavily on the strength of one's bloodline, and those with the stronger lineage naturally wielded the stronger art.

As a former Supreme Ruler, the Supreme Ancestor naturally possessed one of the strongest bloodlines in the world, and every Supreme Ruler's bloodline was further strengthened during their succession ritual. For that very reason, he was utterly stunned to see a nobody overpower him in Blood Manipulation.

"I… I refuse to believe that his Blood Manipulation is stronger than mine! It must have been a fluke!" The Supreme Ancestor immediately summoned another spear, one that looked different. Its color was a darker crimson, and its surface was glossy and hardened like forged steel.

Clang!

When they clashed again a moment later, neither weapon shattered. To onlookers it may seem like a draw, but the Supreme Ancestor knew he had lost. Even after refining his Blood Manipulation with another technique, he still couldn't overpower Yuan's ordinary Blood Manipulation.

Unbeknownst to the Supreme Ancestor, this was Yuan's first time using Blood Manipulation, so he was essentially fighting a complete novice.

"That's a neat trick. Let me see if I can do it…" Yuan said.

In the next instant, his crimson sword turned glossy and far more refined.

"You—!"

Before the Supreme Ancestor could finish speaking, Yuan's blade sliced clean through his spear and then through his body, severing his head from his neck.

The Supreme Ancestor quickly distanced himself from Yuan as his body regenerated.

"So you can strengthen your Blood Manipulation with Celestial Qi in such a manner, huh? Thanks for the guidance," Yuan remarked with a smile afterward.

The Supreme Ancestor went silent for a heartbeat, then began to tremble with rage. Then, an overwhelming aura erupted from his body, surging with a force reminiscent of Celestial Qi yet clearly far superior.

"This is the power of an Absolute God, huh?" A faint, excited smile tugged at Yuan's lips.

After fighting and killing many True Gods—and even clashing with Eternals—Yuan had a solid grasp of an Absolute God's capabilities. He estimated the Supreme Ancestor's strength at roughly thirty percent of Saaruk's true power, far from enough to contend with an Eternal, but more than sufficient to annihilate anything below them.

'I couldn't even contend with Saaruk at twenty percent of his power back then, even while using Eternal Essence. Let's see how well I fare against thirty percent now… without Eternal Essence or Demon Sealing Aura,' Yuan thought as he braced for the Supreme Ancestor's attack.

However, the Supreme Ancestor didn't attack immediately. Instead, he used Blood Manipulation to encase himself in crimson armor from head to toe, taking on the appearance of a blood‑red knight.

"I went easy on you because of your cultivation, but it seems I have severely underestimated you, so I will be fighting you with my full strength now." The Supreme Ancestor declared as he pointed his spear at Yuan.

"I'm so scared." Yuan remarked in a sarcastic voice.

"DIE!"

Without warning, the Supreme Ancestor used Void Manipulation to initiate his attack.

Fortunately, Yuan had trained his Void Manipulation before arriving at the City of Blood, or else he wouldn't have been able to keep up with the Supreme Ancestor's movements.

Clang!

Yuan managed to block the Supreme Ancestor's strike from the void, but his sword shattered after the exchange.

Without flinching, he simply formed another blade with Blood Manipulation. That, too, would break during their next clash, but with each repetition his proficiency grew, and every new sword emerged stronger than the last.

However, after hundreds of exchanges and swords later, Yuan realized that his Blood Manipulation refined with Celestial Qi was nowhere near competing with the power of an Absolute God, so he tried something else.

For the first time, Yuan activated two awakenings at once. His aura vanished for a heartbeat, then surged back several times stronger. The prismatic crystal in his chest flared with golden light, his right eye turned gold, and glistening scales spread across his body, forming a radiant golden armor.

"What the hell did he just do?!" The Supreme Ancestor froze mid‑attack, staring at Yuan in bewilderment. His aura now carried a distinctly beastly ferocity, as though he'd transformed into a beast himself.

Yuan examined his body with delight and satisfaction. 'This worked out better than I thought it would… No, I wasn't even sure if this would work,' he smiled inwardly.
