Chapter 1062 — Book 2: Chapter 260: Chaos plus chaos (9)
13 min read ·
Cale had his eyes closed as he heard Raon’s bright voice.
“Human, what a total chaos!”
“…Very smart.”
It hit right on the mark.
“That’s right, human! I, the great and mighty Raon Miru, is smart!”
Cale ignored the comments of the seven year old Dragon as he organized his thoughts.
‘So, to organize all of this-’
Getting rid of all the extras and only focusing on the important stuff…
2. They all wanted to change the current situation.
3. There is an organization trying to stop them.
Cale opened his eyes.
“The omnipotent god and a new world. Are these two things what the enemies believe are the keys to change this situation?”
The omnipotent god that the Hunters were trying to create…
And a new world based on the virtual reality world created by the Transparent Bloods…
They were all moving for those two things.
“Huh?”
Deputy Chief Priest Cotton suddenly stopped.
"The way you are talking is a bit weird.”
She tilted her head to one side.
“…Do you perhaps know what the new world is?”
“What's the big deal?”
Cale snorted.
"We both know what we need to know so you were the one who said let's not pretend like we don’t know anything.”
‘Hmm?’
Cale flinched.
Cotton’s reaction was a bit different from what he had expected.
“…….”
Cale silently looked at her.
That slightly lighthearted demeanor had disappeared. Instead, her eyes were sparkling.
They were sparkling with lunacy.
Choi Han stopped wiping his blade. He then immediately stood behind Cale.
“Meeeeeow.”
On immediately stationed herself next to Cale’s leg.
There was an eerie silence before Cotton opened her mouth.
Her eyes had become slightly bloodshot during the silence.
"Where is the new world?”
Smirk.
She started to smile. It was an extremely awkward smile.
“You found it?”
Her eyes looked like that of a famished wild beast as they sparkled.
Choi Han's gaze sank down.
‘She’s crazy.’
Deputy Chief Priest Cotton. No, the former Holy Maiden…
She looked completely crazed but her voice was so calm it was cold. All of it made Choi Han feel even more nervous.
He had no idea what kind of crazy things she might do.
‘If she does anything weird-
I’ll suppress her-’
Choi Han motioned to Lock, who was behind Cotton, with his gaze. Lock had also moved to stand behind Cotton and prepare for any potential situations.
As for Raon, he was already invisible.
Cotton opened her mouth again.
"Where is it? Hmm? Can you please tell me?”
Choi Han looked down at the back of his hand.
He had goosebumps.
‘Cotton.’
A chilling aura was pushing out of this person. It felt stale, cold, and suffocating.
Yet he was familiar with this sensation.
‘Ah
It's a battlefield.’
The aura of a battlefield was coming out of her.
‘She can give off such an aura despite being excommunicated?’
She truly seemed like a former Holy Maiden.
‘Shit.’
He could not let his guard down.
A warning-like sensation snapped Choi Han to his senses. His hand holding the sword subconsciously flinched.
It was because he saw Lock's pale face and On's slightly stiff body.
It was at that moment.
“Ha!”
The chilling mood disappeared with a gentle chuckle.
No, it was pushed away.
The usual nonchalant voice took its place.
“Yeah. I do.”
Choi Han lowered his head.
He could see Cale’s back.
He was very relaxed.
Choi Han subconsciously loosened the grip on his sword.
Cale's voice continued.
“I guess you guys don’t know what the new world is. That’s what you guys are looking for.”
Choi Han then heard a bright voice.
– Choi Han! Looks like our human is trying to scam someone!
“Pfft.”
Choi Han chuckled before wiping his sword again. Ron had taught him how to do this.
As for Cale, he was smiling brightly.
“Cotton.”
On the other hand, Cotton’s face was stiff.
She should have realized it because she is a smart person.
At this moment…
“If you are curious about the location of the new world, go bring your boss.”
Cale had taken the upper position in their discussion.
“You should have a boss. Isn't that right?”
“Umm-”
Cotton opened her mouth but Cale sternly shook his head.
“I can’t share this information with anybody other than the top person of your group.”
A thick smile appeared on Cale's face.
The organization trying to not only fight against the Hunters but also the World of the Gods and the Demon World…
Either way, learning about these figures should be very beneficial to Cale.
“Ah.”
Cale asked the thought that finally came into his mind.
"What should I call you guys?”
The people trying to fight against them…
Cotton stared at the smiling Cale before responding.
Her voice was as stiff as her face.
“The Arbitrators.”
Cotton and the fake Hilsman were part of the Arbitrators.
“Hmm.”
Cale nodded his head as he leaned against the backrest.
He then quietly spoke as if he was talking to himself.
“Based on what I've seen, you guys seem to avoid the enemies’ eyes and stealthily do your work.”
This was because none of the Hunters he had met until now had brought up the Arbitrators.
“Yet you are an organization that travels through dimensions and is wary of gods and the Demonic race. You are also ready to fight them as needed-”
The Arbitrators.
“I guess your leader must, at minimum, be at the God level?”
Cotton's pupils started shaking.
She could see that Cale was smiling. No, she saw his coldly sunken eyes.
Cale sat back up and leaned forward.
He then asked Cotton.
“Is your leader a god?”
He seemed to be feeling her out but he sounded oddly certain.
Cotton closed her mouth.
“Haha-”
Cale gently laughed.
“It seems a bit obvious?”
Until now, there had been two gods that have played important roles in this chaos.
The God of Balance and the God of Chaos.
‘The God of War and the God of Death are trivial figures, so I can take them out of the list of suspects.’
Cale had a thought that would make the God of Death upset if he heard about it as he continued to think.
‘If it is a god-’
That god should at least be at the level of the Ancient Gods.
‘Then I guess I can take the God of Hope out as well.
Is it the God of Justice or the God of Corruption?’
It was at that moment.
“Haaaaa.”
Cotton let out a deep sigh.
The aura surrounding her completely disappeared.
She opened her mouth looking slightly fatigued.
“No. It’s not a god.”
“Then?”
Was there someone who was not a god but capable of leading such an organization?
As Cale’s thoughts were about to get complicated…
“…Our backing is the last generation's Demon King.”
“Fuck.”
Cale suddenly felt dizzy.
‘What nonsense is she saying now?’
"That situation is complicated too. The Demon World is presently controlled by the current Demon King, an extremist, but the dethroned former Demon King is a moderate. He believes that the Demonic race should remain scrunched up in the Demon World.” Ɽá₦ỗ𝖇Ëṡ
‘Fuck!
I don’t want to hear any more!’
“All of the former Demon King's children have died, but an illegitimate child survived. She is our leader.”
‘Fuck!
Stop talking! It’s so annoying!’
“The reason we are able to travel through dimensions while avoiding the eyes of the World of the Gods is thanks to the help of the Demon World. That is also the reason we are able to know about the situation in the Demon World.”
“…Ha.”
Cale spoke with his eyes closed.
“…It seems like I will need to talk to your boss first.”
Cotton looked oddly refreshed as she nodded her head.
“Yeah. I told you these things because I also thought that should happen. I’ll come see you soon with the boss. Just tell me the location.”
Nod nod.
Cale nodded his head with a complicated look on his face.
He then came to a conclusion.
‘Let’s not think about the Demon World.
That’s none of my business.
There’s no reason for me to go there anyway.
Let's not think about the World of the Gods either.’
He had even less reasons to go to the World of the Gods.
‘I just need to take care of the Hunters and go back to Roan.
The Demon World will be a battle between those extremists and those moderates or whatever. I guess the Ancient Gods will duke it out in the World of the Gods.’
Cale's thinking was getting rougher by the day.
‘I just need to do my thing and get some rest.’
There should be nothing to worry about in the Human World as long as he got rid of the Hunters.
Cale felt a bit lighter after organizing his thoughts.
A thought then filled his mind.
“Ah.”
Cale reached his hand out.
Cotton looked at him.
Cale responded with a calm look on his face.
“Information about Ryan's castle.”
He then spoke pompously.
“Hand them all over.”
He didn't have much time.
"Also, you said you can get in the castle, right?”
He still sounded pompous.
“Lead the way.”
Why did destroying Ryan’s castle suddenly feel so easy?
Cale didn’t want to know the reason why.
– Human, you suddenly look tired! Should I give you an apple pie?
Munch munch.
Cale ate an apple pie as he received every single piece of information Cotton had gathered until now about Ryan's castle.
“…….”
He ignored Wiesha, who watched the whole conversation with a blank look on her face.
To be more accurate, he was doing his best to ignore it.
“…As expected of the Savior.”
He truly did everything he could to feign ignorance.
* * *
“Human, human! There are messages on the video communication device!”
Cale received the video communication device from Raon and read the messages.
“There are two messages!”
First.
< I have ended up heading toward the capital. It looks like I will be meeting the Emperor. May I ask for your assistance? >
Bailey, the Haru Kingdom's Minister of Foreign Affairs, had sent the message with Eruhaben's help.
There was some important information underneath the first line and Cale made up his mind.
“I guess I'll need to head to the capital for a bit.”
"Are you talking about the capital of the Empire, Cale-nim?”
He lightly nodded his head at Choi Han’s question.
“Yeah. I'll need to go see the Emperor.”
He then checked the second message.
< All things according to Cale-nim’s will. >
“Crazy bastard.”
Clopeh Sekka's message made him want to stop reading after the first line. However, Cale really confirmed his next actions after seeing what he wrote next.
< We only destroyed one temple and everything is swell. >
“I need to go to the Empire.”
“He did cause an issue then.”
“…….”
Cale turned his head. Choi Han was wiping his sword.
‘That’s Ron's trait.’
Cale turned his head after sensing an unexplainable viciousness, kept his mouth closed and looked at the map in his hand.
It was a map of Ryan's castle that Cotton had made.
He thought of something and asked Raon a question.
“Raon. His highness hasn’t responded, right?”
“He hasn't!”
‘Is that crown prince really addicted to gaming?’
Cale thought that something like that was possible and cleared his mind.
However, the back of his head continued to feel cold.
* * *
Clang clang.
The luggage carriage stopped.
“Stop.”
A knight extended his hand and an Entrance Pass was placed on it.
“Pass.”
The coachman had passed.
“Hold on.”
However, the carriage could not move yet.
“Look through it.”
The soldiers by the knight received the order and picked up the door flap to look inside.
It was full of food.
"Check it.”
“Yes sir.”
The vicious looking soldiers checked the food one by one.
“Sir, there are no issues.”
“Mm, I see.”
The knight finally responded.
“Pass.”
The coachman bowed and led the luggage carriage into the castle.
The knight watched the carriage leave before speaking again.
"We received orders to be even more thorough with our security. So make sure to stay alert and do your jobs properly. Do you understand?”
“Yes sir!”
Some of the soldiers who answered energetically slightly flinched and the knight sighed before speaking again.
“Go ahead and switch.”
It was time for a shift change.
Some of the soldiers moved to take over.
“Haa, it's so strict these days.”
“It can't be helped. We are being told by those higher than us to do so.”
“Yeah. Don't let it show even if you have any complaints. You are just going to have shit flung your way.”
The soldier closed his mouth at his friends’ advice.
Honestly speaking, the fact that he could work here as a soldier meant that he was lucky.
“Hmm?”
He flinched at that moment.
“What the hell? Who are those fools?”
Some soldiers were looking gazed yet disciplined as they followed behind a soldier.
The soldier laughed as he answered them.
“Rookies. This is their first day.”
“Ah, really? I guess you got tasked with guiding them?”
“Yeah. Ah, it’s so hard.”
"Tsk. Good luck.”
He felt pity for the soldier who had to take care of rookies while the security was extremely tight.
He shook his head at the bright smile on the face of the soldier before quickly moving to leave work.
He suddenly stopped.
‘Who was that?
I've never seen him before?’
But he quickly thought about getting off work and resumed walking.
‘Well, I guess our shifts just have not overlapped.’
That soldier acting so natural made it hard to think of anything else.
Once that soldier disappeared, Cale opened his mouth.
"Why are you all so stiff?”
Lock and Wiesha smiled awkwardly.
The First Star, Ryan.
Cale was now right in front of the inner castle, Ryan’s lair.
He was currently wearing soldier uniforms that Cotton had procured.
Cale, who looked shabby as he was covered in dirt and dust, followed the path that he had memorized.
There was a carriage there.
Shh.
The coachman slightly lifted his hat.
“You didn't say anything, right?”
“Yes, Cale-nim.”
Choi Han had an innocent smile on his face.
He sucked so much at acting that Cale had told him not to say anything.
He entered the luggage carriage. He then picked up a part of the wooden floor.
“Meeeeeow.”
“Meeow!”
“Human, this was surprisingly comfortable!”
A hidden area underneath the carriage…
The children averaging ten-years-old were wrapped in soft blankets.
“Let’s go.”
This had been written in Cotton's information.
< Once you enter into the Dragon's lair - the inner castle, you will not be caught even if you use magic, to some degree. >
Cale immediately changed into a servant uniform that was hidden underneath the carriage. He then grabbed a burlap sack of wheat that they had brought as an ingredient.
He just needed to go into the lair now, pretending to deliver these goods.
“…….”
Cale had to stop for a moment.
Lock slowly walked over and picked up the burlap sack full of wheat that was in Cale’s hand. Of course, he did it with one hand.
He handed Cale a small basket with his other hand.
“…Thanks.”
Lock smiled innocently and genuinely after hearing Cale’s thank you.
Cale looked at the extremely heavy-looking burlap sack of wheat in Lock's hand, and then at the empty basket in his hand before sighing.
Cale’s group all infiltrated Ryan's castle a few moments later.
Their first goal was the basement.
Cale was heading there for the odd signal, the disappeared Beast people, and for the divine item of the Blue Wolf.
“Follow me.”
Of course, Cotton, who had shown up to work in the inner castle as usual, was leading the way. They stealthily followed behind her. They still minimized magic use just in case.
This was thanks to one piece of information.
< Before the odd signal rings, the inside of the lair became relaxed and there is a moment when the number of patrols decrease. >
After some time…
“You need to pass there to head to the basement.”
Cale could see the door heading down to the basement.
Of course, there were some extremely strong looking knights by the door.
"That one’s an Elf.”
One was an Elf.
“Those are Beast people.”
The knights who were completely covered in armor were Beast people as the White Snake mentioned.
"There is a Wolf as well.”
Cale looked toward Lock. Lock’s gaze had sunk down deeply.
