Chapter 1069 — Book 2: Chapter 267: Do you really think you are capable of doing that with your abilities? (2)

– Plop.
Alberu put down the pen in his hand.
– Can’t help it even if you feel like you are going to go nuts.
The way Alberu subtly smiled as he spoke made Cale close his mouth.
– I saw the message you left me. It was very short but there was no way for me to ignore it.
Alberu tapped the documents with his index finger. It left fingernail marks on the document, but he didn't care.
He knew that the Transparent Bloods were related to the Virtual Reality game, but…
< Raising my very own precious omnipotent god>. This game, RPOG for short…
“Yes, your highness.”
Cale had to at least tell Alberu about this, despite not being able to get in contact with him very well.
It was especially important as Alberu was the only one among Cale's group who was playing the Virtual Reality game.
– Yeah. In such a situation, a method was created for the game users to create a kingdom or take over a foreign kingdom. If it was you, would you miss such an opportunity?
“…….”
Cale silently leaned back deeply against the backrest.
– I need to set some level of foundation so that you or someone else starting the game later can proceed smoothly.
The smile on Alberu’s face disappeared and he looked serious.
– Level plays a significant impact in that Virtual Reality world. Even if the top ranker, Ahn Roh Man, is on our side, it is only right for me to get as strong as possible. So whether it is you, Choi Han, or Raon-nim, I can bus you.
“Human, what is a bus? What is a level?”
Raon whispered next to him but Cale just quietly looked at Alberu. Alberu looked at Cale and continued to speak.
– …The details will be for when you return to Roan. I’ll tell you all about it, but… This, this place really is-
Alberu could not continue talking for a moment.
He then quietly mumbled.
– This is a new and vast world. It feels like multiple worlds have gathered together.
Alberu and Cale made eye contact.
There were a few seconds of silence as they stared at each other through the screen.
Cale then opened his mouth.
“Right now-”
His face was serious.
“It’s fun, isn't it your highness?”
-…….
“You are enjoying yourself, aren’t you, your highness?”
-…….
“It's so fun that you stay up all night playing?”
-…….
A smile appeared on Alberu’s face.
Cale casually commented back.
“It looks awkward, so please don’t pretend to smile, your highness.”
Alberu smiled as he spoke.
– Man, you really are disrespectful.
“It feels like quite the honor to hear that from the Disrespectful Emperor.”
The Disrespectful Emperor.
That was Alberu's game ID.
-…….
Alberu was silent for a moment before brushing his face with his hands. The fatigue visible on his face became even worse.
He opened his mouth to speak.
– I could understand why the Hunters wanted to create a new world. I'm sure it is not just for the omnipotent god.
His voice, which clearly revealed his fatigue, was very low.
Cale looked at Alberu without saying anything.
Alberu, who could not avoid his gaze, smiled bitterly as he spoke.
– Living a new life in a new world… That was quite the pleasant feeling.
The crown prince of Roan.
The Quarter Dark Elf…
Alberu Crossman.
Inside the game, he could do anything and everything without the restraints of his position and identity.
Of course, not everything he did was successful and he didn’t win everything, but at least he didn't have to be cautious because of his existence.
That was such a pleasure.
– Of course, I don’t plan to let it affect my work.
Alberu could not understand why he subconsciously spoke as if he was making an excuse for himself.
He still completed his usual work and always made sure to spend the same amount of time to practice his magic and sword art.
He just spent the rest of his time playing the game.
This was all in preparation for the battle against the Hunters.
‘No.’
Alberu fixed his thoughts.
‘I am having fun while keeping the Hunters on my mind.’
Honestly speaking, Alberu had not left the Royal Palace very much. Maybe it was because he was a member of the royal family, but growing up neglected made him have extremely few opportunities to see the outside. ṟ₳NȯＢÊs
Once his movement became more free, the situation was not right for him to enjoy the beautiful scenery or the amazing sights around the city.
However, inside this game he was an adventurer, someone with the potential to become whatever he wanted to become.
He also revived upon death and had ways to fix things even if he failed.
‘How scary.’
The more Alberu thought about it, this Virtual Reality was a scary existence to him.
‘This is a relief.’
He was relieved that he was able to chat like this with Cale Henituse today.
Otherwise, he would not have noticed his current state.
‘Ha.
Have I ever acted like this before?’
This was a new side of him that Alberu had never seen before.
It was at that moment.
“Mm.”
Cale groaned as he spoke.
“I had a feeling it would be like this, your highness.”
– What?
Cale shrugged his shoulders.
“Your highness, you are the type to give your best no matter what it is. Doing so, I'm sure you figured out the joy of gaming.”
If Alberu was the type to not give things his best, he would not have felt joy in a game he had to play because of a request.
“But I'm sure you will take care of yourself, so please take care of yourself.”
– Cale Henituse. You, aren’t you being too nonchalant about this?
Alberu’s face turned unsettled.
Cale had a look that seemed to be saying, ‘you do whatever you want. It's none of my business.’ Cale looked extremely annoyed.
This made Alberu have no desire to game again.
Cale shrugged his shoulders again.
“It’s not too nonchalant, your highness. It is coming from my extreme respect for you because I care about you a lot. Your highness, I know that it is not possible that you might-”
– ?
Cale stopped for a moment, smirked at Alberu’s scowl, and continued to speak.
“Faint and fall over like I do? Ah, but you might at least get a bloody nose? Maybe I'll end up being healthier than you after this, your highness. Hahaha!”
Raon interjected at that moment.
“Human, human! The crown prince looks like his pride has been shot!”
“Hahaha-”
Cale listened to that and laughed even more.
-…….
Alberu was silent for a bit before he answered.
– You are snapping me right back to my senses.
And…
– Pfft.
He chuckled.
‘Hmm?’
Cale saw one corner of Alberu’s lips rise up and oddly felt upset.
Alberu then spoke in an amazed and confused voice.
– Cale Henituse. Do you really think that is possible?
“…….”
Cale was silent and the children averaging ten-years-old answered.
“Even I think that there are no chances of the crown prince becoming like our human!”
“That’s right, nya! It is just as our youngest said, nya!”
“There’s quite a difference between someone who exercises and someone who doesn't, nya. You can’t even compare them to one another, nya. His highness should only be compared against a knight, nya.”
Cale watched Raon, Hong, and then On quietly answer before becoming speechless because On looked at him with a pitying gaze.
– Hahaha!
Instead, the crown prince let out a refreshing and radiant laugh that made them think of the sun.
– I suddenly feel my fatigue going away.
He then asked in a refreshed voice.
– You have any news for me?
"…A lot, your highness.”
Cale held back a sigh and delivered the information he had not been able to share with Alberu until now.
Pat pat. On's fluffball-like grey front paw patted Cale’s leg. For the first time, Cale ignored the paw that seemed to be consoling him.
* * *
The temple building where Pope Casillia resided… There was a small garden behind it.
It was the only place full of crops in this clean and refined temple. The vines that climbed up the tall walls made it so that people could not look into it.
Plop, plop.
The rear garden was decorated like a small forest.
There were more trees, grass, and wildflowers than beautifully maintained flowers, but that was why it resembled nature.
The pond at the center of it…
Plop, plop.
The water drops falling from Pope Casillia's hand shook the surface of the pond.
She turned her head.
“Pope-nim.”
Third bishop Hons lowered his head and stepped aside.
She could see five individuals who entered the pond.
Cale Henituse was standing at the center.
“Nice to meet you.”
The Pope hid her hands in her wide sleeves and approached him.
Shhhh, shhhh.
Her long sleeves brushed against the grass and her hair fluttered in the wind.
She was wearing her baggy priestess robe as usual, but she also looked relaxed as if she was on vacation.
“It is an honor to meet you, Pope-nim.”
Cale extended his hand out.
However, Casillia just smiled and did not shake his hand.
“…….”
“…….”
In the instant the human and the Dragon half-blood stared at each other…
A human broke the silence.
“Cale-nim has requested a handshake, ma'am.”
Clopeh Sekka.
He smiled as he said that to the Pope.
‘This crazy bastard!’
Cale instantly frowned and the Pope uncharacteristically flinched. Cale saw the sickened look on her face for a moment before it disappeared.
‘What did that bastard Clopeh Sekka do to the Pope?’
Based on what he had heard, they had destroyed one of the temple buildings.
‘But I heard Rasheel did that?’
Clopeh said that he did not destroy anything himself.
Cale's confusion was about to grow when the Pope answered his question.
“I do not do handshakes.”
Cale heard that and withdrew his hand. He did not know about that.
The Pope continued to speak.
“However, Sir Clopeh did give me an approximate report of everything you have done, Commander Cale Henituse. I am happy to meet you in person like this.”
‘I wonder how Clopeh introduced me.’
Cale suddenly got the chills.
‘But he’s not the kind of guy who will mess things up.’
It was because Cale had that much trust in Clopeh that he opened his mouth as if nothing was amiss.
“Thank you very much for the information about the Emperor, your Holiness.”
The meaning behind this was simple.
‘You gave us that sort of information, so it means you are working with us to some degree right? Let's not be so wary around each other and make things complicated. Let’s quickly get this done.’
The Pope gently answered.
“It was nothing. We will temporarily be going down the same path so something like that is to be expected.”
“Temporarily going down the same path-”
Cale quietly chuckled and added on.
“Do you mean that you will at least work with us to take down the Purple Bloods?”
The Pope smiled even bigger.
"That is correct.”
However, she could not guarantee anything after that.
Even if they were working together now…
‘The only direction I want is chaos and destruction.’
Pope Casillia wanted to destroy not just the Dragons but also this world.
‘How would you react to what I just said?’
The Cale Henituse that Clopeh and Hannah described to the Pope was a true hero.
‘Our esteemed sir has saved many worlds and rescued countless lives.’
‘He's a good guy.’
She thought about their assessment of Cale and waited for his answer.
He finally opened his mouth.
‘Do you mean that you will at least work with us to take down the Purple Bloods?’
‘That is correct.’
His reaction to that conversation…
“I see.”
Was extremely lighthearted.
‘That’s it?’
The Pope was surprised but she smiled again.
"We have prepared some refreshments for all of you. Please come this way.”
The Pope had prepared tables and chairs in the rear garden along with some refreshments.
She looked toward Cale again.
“Why don't your friends join us as-”
She then flinched.
“Nice to meet you, Pope!”
Raon stopped being invisible and greeted the Pope.
The smile reappeared on the Pope's face as if she had not stiffened at all.
“I've never seen such a bright and happy Dragon. A Dragon from another world… nice to meet you, Dragon-nim.”
“My name is Raon Miru! What is your name?”
The Pope calmly answered.
“What use does a great and mighty Dragon like yourself have to know the name of a lowly Dragon half-blood like me? It will only sully your ears, Dragon-nim.”
Her words made Hons flinch.
The only people here from the Pope's side right now were Hons and the First Bishop.
Hons warily peeked toward Cale and opened his mouth to speak.
But someone was faster than him.
It was Raon.
“What do you mean?! I am curious about the names of the Dragon half-bloods!”
Raon tilted his head in confusion.
He then fidgeted as if he was a bit embarrassed and warily peeked at Cale.
“Umm, our human made a name for a Dragon half-blood but he hasn’t told me! In my opinion, he hasn’t decided on the name yet! That is why I need to hear the names of many other Dragon half-bloods to give him examples!”
Cale frowned.
The nameless Dragon half-blood…
That was the Bone Dragon at the Black Castle.
“I already have a name for him.”
He had given a lot of thought, including on the meaning of the name.
Raon looked pale as he asked.
“Then what Miru is it?!”
He surprised himself.
“Ah!”
He then covered his mouth with his chubby front paws.
He then warily looked at Cale, the children averaging ten-years-old, and the others.
“I didn't say anything!”
He immediately shouted.
“Haa.”
Cale scoffed in response when someone quietly mumbled.
“…Miru……?”
It was Pope Casillia.
She looked toward Raon Miru. This was the first time she looked fully at Raon.
She asked the extremely young looking black Dragon.
“…If he's Miru… Isn’t that the same last name as you, Dragon-nim?”
Raon Miru.
That was what the Dragon said as his name.
But he was curious to know what Miru this new name for the nameless Dragon half-blood would be?
“Mm, mm!”
Raon fidgeted his front paws and fluttered his wings.
His cheeks slowly flushed red as well. Anybody would be able to tell that he was embarrassed.
“Mm, mm, I didn’t say anything!”
He then quickly hid behind On and Hong.
Of course, Raon was much larger than On and Hong in their kitten forms, but he still hid behind On.
He then slowly raised his head to look cautiously at Cale.
“…Why?”
Raon immediately shouted at Cale’s brusque question.
“I, even I can’t tell what I am thinking! He tried to kill me, but this is weird!”
‘Haaaaa.’
Cale let out a sigh.
He could understand Raon's feelings.
The Dragon half-blood.
That bastard tried to kill Raon during his first growth phase at the Gorge of Death.
After that, Raon learned that the Dragon half-blood's heart contained that of his sibling.
Whether it was Lord Sheritt or Raon… The two Dragon's inconsistent emotions toward the Dragon half-blood was understandable.
‘The Dragon half-blood too-’
Although he himself thinks that he isn't making it obvious…
Cale stopped his thoughts from moving over to the Dragon half-blood.
He needed to focus on the Pope right now.
It was at that moment.
“…He tried to kill you but you are going to give him the same last name……?”
The Pope whispered in a low voice before quietly observing Raon.
The gaze was not gentle like before. It was full of an odd fluctuation.
Anger, grudge, chaos, loathing, etc…
They were the remains of negative emotions.
Cale stood in between the Pope and Raon at that moment.
Casillia raised her head from Raon to look at Cale.
A stoic and cold gaze was directed at her.
"Why don't we make it simple and decide together how far we’ll go.”
He then pointed past her shoulders.
“Let’s go. I want a cup of tea.
Ah.”
He then added on with a short gasp.
“You can't hurt allies. You know that, right?”
Pope Casillia regained her sense of reason while observing the cold gaze looking down at her.
It could not be helped.
She suddenly felt cold despite feeling the warmth of the sun.
No, it felt frigid.
It was probably because of the aura surrounding her.
This invisible aura only surrounded her, and the master of the aura spoke as if he was whispering to her.
You can't hurt allies.
“If you do, everything is over.”
What would be over?
The answer was obvious even without asking.
The only thing in Cale Henituse’s eyes right now was Pope Casillia herself.
His appearance made Casillia feel odd.
The young Dragon who was trying to give a Dragon half-blood, who tried to kill him, the same last name.
And this human, who stepped in to protect that young Dragon.
Her heart was feeling as odd as this odd combination.
It was at that moment.
– Hey Pope!
She heard the young Dragon’s voice.
Only she could hear the voice right now.
– Is your body in a lot of pain by chance?
Her hand was slightly shaking underneath the baggy priestess robe.
That was the reason she became unable to shake hands at some point.
‘As expected, you can’t hide from the eyes of a Dragon.’
As Casillia's eyes were about to fluctuate again…
– My mom and Goldie gramps might be able to heal a hurting Dragon half-blood! I saw my mom’s research last time! And if you are in pain, you need to get treatment!
The Dragon spoke brightly.
– And next time, let me know your name! I'm curious about your name! As for the Dragon half-blood at our house, he’s shy but oddly assertive. Would you consider being his friend? I'll introduce you to him if you want to be his friend!
“Ha.”
Casillia scoffed.
Her heart was fluctuating.
It was fluctuating an odd amount.
‘Raon must have done something.’
Cale saw Pope Casillia scoff and look toward Raon and shook his head.
It was at that moment.
– Human, I didn't do anything!
He became certain when he heard that.
‘He did do something.’
Either way, the Pope would not mess with Raon as long as she had a brain.
Cale sat down at the table of refreshments the Pope had prepared and nonchalantly commented.
“We plan on looting the Dragon Lord’s lair in the next month. Probably in two weeks?”
Plop.
Hons dropped the cookies he was about to hand to the children averaging ten-years-old.
Cale confidently made a request.
“Please give me a map of a lair. It would be great if you could also map out any shortcuts.”
The First Bishop, who had been quiet until now, finally spoke.
“…I guess you really need to be this crazy to fight against a Dragon.”
He became flustered after subconsciously saying that. Clopeh Sekka spoke seriously with a stiff look on his face as if to tell the First Bishop not to say something like that.
“Please don’t say something like that. This is the process of creating a legend.”
‘Aigoo.’
Cale clenched his eyes shut.
He held back a sigh and resumed speaking.
“Anyway, along with the map, please give me anything you might have for like the Dragon Lord's weakness or anything of the sort. As quickly as possible if you can. We plan on getting rid of them all.”
Cale had no idea because his eyes were closed.
Hons and the First Bishop were looking at him with disbelief.
He also didn't notice the odd crazed look in the Pope’s eyes.
“Ha, haha-”
The Pope’s laughter echoed throughout the rear garden.
She was laughing out loud for the first time.
“How entertaining.”
Cale opened his eyes and answered.
“It should be entertaining, don’t you think, your Holiness?”
“Yes I will prepare right away.”
‘Wow.’
Cale was a bit amazed at the Pope’s response.
‘I'm glad we see eye to eye.’
He was happy that she did not ask many questions.
