Chapter 1086 — Book 2: Chapter 283: The Night does not Equate to Fear (4)
16 min read ·
Honestly speaking, Lock was aware that he was half out of his mind right now.
“Pfft.”
He kept laughing.
His whole body was overflowing with strength.
He could not control it.
This was definitely the divine item, the Howl of Sunset. It was thanks to the power of the god left within it.
He only had this power for a single use.
It would not be given to him forever.
He realized it at the same time.
‘This is my future.’
It was showing him a future where he himself would grow this strong.
‘Ah’
So how could he hide this exhilarating feeling?
The blue power surrounding him…
That did not belong to a god.
It was the future Lock when he grew stronger.
Beast people could not use mana or aura.
‘In that case, what is this blue power surrounding me?’
Choi Han.
‘It should be something similar to hyung’s aura.’
Chhhhhhhhh-
Lock heard something burning.
Ryan.
His blue light resembled the blue part of a hot burning flame.
On the other hand, Lock’s blue was a bit more transparent.
The sky between dawn and morning… It was a dark yet bright blue-ish color that made him think of the sky between those times.
If Ryan’s looked hot…
Lock’s looked cold.
The moment those two blue lights struck each other…
Chhhhhhhhh-
They started to burn while consuming each other.
White steam rose between the two of them.
Once Ryan recognized this…
“You are just a lowly little Wolf-!”
Ryan raged in anger.
Because Lock was fine.
Lock’s blue power was not pushed back by Ryan.
“That’s mine!”
Ryan’s eyes were bloodshot.
“You are mocking me not with your own strength but the strength of a god?!”
Lock laughed in response.
“Haha-”
He just felt like laughing.
That was correct. He was not being pushed back right now because of a god’s power.
Nonetheless, Lock had a response.
‘This is my future.’
The Blue Wolf was showing Lock a portion of his future strength after he got stronger.
Even this power was not Lock’s limit.
‘I can see the path.’
Lock recalled what Choi Han had said.
Choi Han had answered when he had asked about the black aura.
‘It's my path. The path I have walked. I guess you could even call it my history.”
He felt like he could understand those words now.
No. ‘Is it a bit different?’
Lock could see the path he needed to walk.
That might explain why he subconsciously made this comment to the angry Dragon.
“I am not weak.”
Lock, who had unlimited potential, realized it.
“You bastard!”
Ryan swung his fist again.
Baaaaang!
Baaaaang!
The fist smashed and another fist smashed…
Bang!
Ryan’s knee slammed toward Lock’s stomach, Lock blocked it with his hand and then twisted his body to swing his leg.
Baaaaang!
Bang!
Lock and Ryan clashed multiple times at formidable speeds in a few seconds.
“You, you son of a bitch!”
Ryan’s blue aura fluctuated even stronger.
The presence of a god…
Yes, let’s call this blue power the presence of a god.
His mana understandably could get pushed back by this power.
However-
However, why-
‘Why am I being pushed back in physical strength?!’
Dragons had the largest bodies.
Naturally, it also meant that they were the strongest.
Whales were compared to them at times, but as long as it was not the ocean, even Whales could not compare to the overwhelming physical superiority of Dragons.
However-
‘I'm currently overloading!’
His mana wasn’t going wild yet, but his body was currently using every ounce of strength that was possible to use.
‘Ugh!’
It also hurt.
It meant that this little Wolf bastard’s punch was stronger than his.
“You dare-”
‘A damn lowly Beast dares!
This bastard should be dominated by me!
He has the blood of an animal!’
“You dare to try to defeat me–!”
Baaaaaang–!
Ryan's blue flame roared like an exploding volcano.
Shaaaaaaa-
It started to spread.
"All, and I mean all! All of you should be bowing down to me!
I possess Domination!”
Ryan could only see Lock now.
His Dragon Fear and his Domination attribute struck out at their limits.
This bastard.
Making this Wolf bastard cower to my domination.
That was what he wanted.
Overload. Ryan’s desires were strong after releasing the final shackle with thoughts of even giving up his life.
“Kill them all!”
He shouted while looking at Lock.
“Kill them all!”
He was shouting to the animals and all of the Beast people listening to him.
He used the full extent of his attribute as he did that.
“Kill them all!”
Paaaaat-!
A large ripple fluctuated out in all directions.
Ziiiing.
Lock felt his hands and feet go numb from the large blue ripple spreading toward him and all directions.
He could feel the desire to dominate over others.
However, what was within it felt so so sinister.
“How pathetic.”
Lock said something he would usually never say.
Yes, he was a bit crazy right now.
Despite his body feeling numb and sensing this enormous aura of domination overwhelming him… Lock still said what he wanted to say.
“…What?”
As Ryan, who had only been looking at Lock, scowled to the point that his face could not scowl any further…
Lock nonchalantly commented again.
“…Our young master-nim is not like this.”
That made him say the following as well.
“You are a stupid and lacking Dragon.”
“You, you-!”
Ryan couldn’t even speak due to his rage and shouted.
“Kill him!”
That was the only thing he could say.
He charged toward Lock as well.
“!”
He felt something weird at that moment.
No, it was not a feeling.
It was a chilling sensation throughout his whole body. As Ryan flinched at this unexplainable sensation, he saw it.
“…….”
The blue ripple that had been spreading out in all directions had stopped.
Instead, the chilling sensation approached closer to Ryan.
The blue ripples lessened.
He looked down.
His subordinates were either captured or shaking intensely as they ran away.
As for the animals, they were not looking at Ryan.
They were looking at the little Wolf bastard in front of him.
The Beast people had stopped running away as well.
As for the Wolves, Tigers, Lions, and other predatory Beast people, they were walking closer to them with blank expressions on their faces.
They were all looking at Lock.
“Oh, our god-”
“Blue, the Blue Wolf……!”
Hope, delight, joy, and anticipation filled their faces.
Furthermore-
‘Worship.’
Yes, it was the worship that he had not managed to gain.
The Beast people had never looked at him like this, not even once.
Of course, they were all full of fear for him, but they had never shown such devotion that they would forget to run away and return.
The animals were not howling.
Ryan used to think that animals that do not howl, animals that do not fight, were useless.
But right now, the silence of the numerous animals quietly watching gave him the chills.
‘Why am I getting the chills?
Why, why-
Why am I feeling scared?’
He could not understand it.
“!”
A large presence swept over him at that moment.
Ryan realized why the blue ripple had stopped.
Beyond the little Wolf bastard…
The red-haired man was looking at him and smiling.
“…T, that was not the end?”
That intense aura that this bastard had used in the beginning…
The aura that made him think of the Dragon Lord was not this bastard’s full power?
Cale simply smiled.
He smiled with the Dominating Aura swirling around him.
This did not impact his plate no matter how much he used it.
“…….”
Ryan was now at a loss for words.
His attempt to become a god had fizzled out.
His attribute was blocked.
That only left the end of overload.
The only answer was to kill this little Wolf bastard and then die as well.
‘But will I be able to kill this little Wolf bastard?
That human bastard, his aura is at the level of the gods.’
Could he dodge such a bastard to kill the Wolf?
“Motherf……!”
He didn’t think that he could do it.
‘I feel like I would die without even being able to kill the little Wolf bastard.’
All possibilities had been cut off.
There was no future for him.
He couldn't even get his revenge.
It felt so empty.
But at this point, only one path remained.
There was only one future for him.
‘I'm really going to die……?’
He had overloaded, thinking that it was fine if he got so caught up in his rage that he died.
But he was really going to die?
‘Me……?
The great and mighty Ryan?’
Ryan’s pupils started shaking.
“!”
Lock did not miss that opening and charged toward him.
Ryan hurriedly raised his arm.
“Ugh!”
He barely managed to block it but could not hold back the groan.
His blue mana had decreased.
Another fist came flying toward him.
Bang! Baaaaang!
Block one and another attack would come.
“Fuck!”
As he blocked a bunch and then swung his fists even faster…
Baaaaang!
Lock grabbed it.
He then pulled that fist forward.
Lock then extended his other hand to grab Ryan by the collar.
Baaaaang!
Lock then headbutted Ryan.
“Ugh!”
Headbutt.
Ryan, who didn’t expect this to be such a fight, had his head jerked back.
Drip.
His nose started bleeding.
His body was pushed back.
“Uhh, ugh.”
He started feeling dizzy.
As Ryan did his best to regain his sight…
Lock became certain after seeing his face.
‘He’s scared.’
He then realized it.
‘He’s trying to run away.’
This Dragon was thinking about running away.
Other than while he was young, Lock had cowered in fear but had not run away.
‘Someone like this tried to become a god?
While dominating over the Beast people?
How funny.’
It truly felt funny.
It also made him angry.
How many people had died because of this Dragon?
Lock swung his fist.
Pow!
Pow! Pow!
He pummeled the guy who couldn't think straight and then pummeled him some more.
This was the first time Lock hit anybody like this.
However, he continued to get angrier.
– Ahhhhh—
– Kyaaaa!
He could still hear the cries of the dead Beast people through the rising grey ashes.
Lock felt like he would tear up.
‘So many people died because of this stupid and useless Dragon bastard?
What’s so good about being a god anyway?
Why is something like that even important?”
“Ahhhhh!”
Lock could not hold back his anger and shouted as he relentlessly pummeled Ryan.
He pummeled him and then pummeled him some more.
The decreasing blue mana…
He knew why Ryan was like this right now.
“Trying to run?”
Ryan’s pupils started shaking at Lock's question.
“You’re scared, aren’t you?”
Lock shouted at him.
“Go ahead and die. Go ahead and die! Overload!”
He then spoke in a low voice.
It sounded similar to an angry howl of a Wolf.
“You can't do it, can you? I knew it. You don’t even have the courage to do that.”
Ryan’s eyes opened wide.
This little Wolf bastard was looking down at him.
He was looking at him with contempt.
It was the same as how Ryan had looked down on other creatures in the past.
Ryan was still thinking despite the situation.
‘I need to run away.’
Running away was the only way to insure his survival.
He was doing his best to control the mana as much as he could.
Boom!
Boom, boom!
But it wasn’t easy.
He could not stop his overloading Dragon heart.
Ryan still tried his best.
He fully believed that his talents were second to none among the Dragons.
Boom.
However, as his heart thumped hard…
“!”
Ryan realized that he could not do anything.
Lock’s hand shook while holding onto Ryan.
It was because Ryan’s body was shaking. Lock could feel a strong force roaring within Ryan’s body.
He would normally not be able to tell, but this future Lock, was strong enough to sense this force.
– Hey Lock, dodge it! That bastard is a ticking time bomb!
He heard Raon's voice.
– All of the mana in his Dragon heart is overloading, but that’s not all!
Epley, who had been fighting against Eruhaben, quickly moved her body back and laughed.
“Haha! You will not be able to stop him now that he has released the shackles of the foundation. I guess Ryan will die now. He won't be able to run even if he wants to do so.”
Ryan has absorbed a significant amount of the foundation of this world.
That foundation had its shackles removed thanks to Ryan’s overloading Dragon heart and did not follow Ryan’s orders.
Boom. Boom, boom!
“I guess he is a ticking time bomb. Everybody is about to get sent flying.”
Epley laughed as she spoke.
“The Dragon heart and the foundation of this world exploding together?! There’s no way I'm going to miss this!”
She looked quite happy. She looked as if she was looking at a new experiment.
“You, you-”
Ryan tried to shout in anger while looking at Epley, but…
“Ugh!”
He could no longer talk.
Chhhhhhhhhhhhhhh-
Blue mana roared through his body again.
His whole body felt hot.
It really felt like he had become a flame.
His insides were churning violently.
A Dragon’s overload…
Ryan twisted his body in a way that did not seem to match an overloading Dragon.
“Ugh, uuuuugh!
It’s hot!
It hurts!’
His body felt like it would explode.
He had never heard about a Dragon’s overload transformation being like this.
‘I thought I would scorch the area around me and die a cool death!’
He did try to run away, but he never expected himself to overload while hurting and looking so pathetic.
‘A time bomb?
My death is only at that level?
It’s not a dangerous and glorious death that will go down in the history of this continent?’
Such thoughts filled Ryan's mind but he said these words out loud.
“D, don’t kill me-”
He did not want to die.
He was scared.
He was in pain.
‘I cannot die like this.
I am too glorious.’
Chhhhhhhhhh-
Ryan extended his hand.
“Hey Lock, let him go!”
The Wolf held onto him until the end despite the shouts of his friends.
He grabbed Lock's hand.
Ryan spoke to the Wolf holding him by the collar.
“I, I'm sorry. Please don't kill me.”
‘I don’t want to die.’
Baaang! Bang! Baaaaang!
Mana roared around him and caused small irregular explosions.
The air distorted.
Chhhh—
Smoke started to rise.
Ryan’s body was turning red.
Anybody would be able to tell that he would soon explode.
“Ugh, ugh.”
It was getting hard for him to even speak.
He desperately extended his hands to grab Lock.
“I, I said that I'm sorry-”
‘Yeah, who doesn’t make mistakes?
It’s not like this was that big of a mistake.’
Ryan truly felt like he would die soon.
He looked at Lock with desperation and Lock scowled.
“…Yeah. I can’t let you die like this.”
“Lock!”
Raon shouted.
“Pffft. Pwahahahah! He’s such a good little boy.”
"Shut up you spineless bitch!”
“Hahaha!”
Epley easily blocked Eruhaben's attack.
She then saw Lock moving toward Cale.
She smiled and moved her fingers.
Snap!
The moment she snapped her fingers…
“A, ahhhhhhhhhhh!”
Ryan suddenly started convulsing.
Epley was smiling before she suddenly stopped.
Two pairs of eyes were looking at her.
It was the old Dragon and the red-haired man.
“I guess that Dragon will die.”
Eruhaben calmly commented.
“He’s about to explode.”
As Cale said that…
Epley smiled even brighter as she spoke.
“Now now, hurry up and run! Don’t waste time trying to capture me!”
She then motioned to the black mage.
The black mage, who had been struggling to dodge Choi Han’s attacks, saw her signal and quickly turned toward her.
“Hoo hoo.”
While these ‘heroes’ cast shields to defend and protect this area, she just had to take this chimera and disappear.
This had been quite fun to watch.
As a gentle smile appeared on Epley’s lips…
‘Ah, but that young Dragon does seem a bit special.’
A strange scent was coming from the black Dragon.
‘I want to dissect that Dragon.
Wouldn’t I be able to create a new chimera if I do that?’
As Epley licked her lips…
Craaaaaaack.
The bomb finally started to break.
Ryan's body started to crack.
“Lock!”
Raon called out to Lock again and Lock bit down on his lips before looking at Cale.
“Throw him.”
Cale stared at Epley as he said those two words.
“Hahaha!”
Epley laughed.
‘After all that time the plan he came up with was to throw Ryan into the air?
Does he think that will prevent the aftershock of the explosion?
It’s going to take more than that.’
“Uh, ugggh-”
Craaaaaaack.
Ryan shook his head and looked at Lock as his body continued to crack.
“…….”
Lock silently threw him into the air.
The scorn in Lock's eyes made Ryan feel anger, injustice, and made his eyes tear up.
Shaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-
His body cut through the air as it flew up into the night sky after being thrown.
Ryan realized that his body was so destroyed that he could not even feel the wind and could only cry.
‘I'm going to die like this?
I feel so wronged.’
“I, I don’t want to die……!”
As he barely managed to let out a scream-like shout…
Craaaack-
His chest opened.
Ooooooo—
His heart, which was covered in blue light as well as a strange five-colored light, appeared.
He could clearly tell that this thing was a concentration of intense energy.
As Epley watched and licked her lips again…
“Not so fast.”
Eruhaben attacked her again.
“Oh my. You still have the sense to attack?”
The ancient Dragon nonchalantly responded.
“What about you?”
“…Excuse me?”
Cale was opening a map.
He already knew it, but…
“It’s over here, right?”
He pointed at the sea.
There was a small island at the center of it.
Epley, the Second Saint Dragon.
He had heard that unlike the other Saint Dragons, she did not have her own force and enjoyed being alone.
“I've memorized the coordinates!”
There was a reason Raon had urged Lock to quickly throw Ryan.
Cale leisurely tapped the island with his finger.
"Shall we send him there?”
Cale nodded his head at Raon's question.
“Yeah. Send him away.”
Epley's eyes opened wide.
‘No way!’
She started to move urgently as soon as she saw the black Dragon start casting a spell.
Baaaaang!
However, the ancient Dragon got in her way.
Raon's voice he had heard a few moments ago…
– Goldie gramps! Our human asks why we should run. He says why should we be responsible for the bomb? He says we should just send it away!
The Three Saint Dragons…
They were so famous that their bases were well-known.
It was different from the Dragon Lord, whose information was very limited.
Ooooooo—
Black mana created a teleportation magic circle.
The magic circle that appeared in the air accurately wrapped around Ryan’s body.
“N, nooooo!”
Epley shouted but there was nothing she could do.
If it was Ryan before the final shackles were removed, he would have dodged or canceled Raon's spell.
However, he had lost all control now and could not resist the teleportation.
Raon’s spell quickly wrapped around his body without any resistance.
Paaaat!
Ryan disappeared.
He had been teleported.
The coordinates were Epley’s island.
Cale looked at Epley.
She was looking at Cale as well.
Cale nonchalantly asked the blankly staring Dragon.
“Don't you need to check on your home?
Your island and your home?”
Cale leisurely added on.
“Bang! It should have gone boom boom?”
Epley, the Second Saint Dragon.
“Fuck—!”
Epley let out an angry shout for the first time.
The island that was reserved just for her had completely disappeared from this moment forward.
It was destroyed with a loud explosion.
Her home had been blasted away.
