Chapter 1101 — Book 2: Chapter 298: Crazy bastard. And an even crazier bastard (7)
16 min read ·
– I'll listen to that bluffing dude just once!
The Sky Eating Water accepted the Dominating Aura's plan.
Seep into the ash-colored clouds.
The water needed to use more power to make that happen.
– I need to put in a bit more power.
– I need to first create a hole in order to seep into it.
It was as she said.
Cale closed his eyes.
‘Water.’
He focused his whole mind on all of the water that filled this place.
He couldn’t help but close his eyes.
This was not something he could sense with his eyes.
‘Water exists everywhere.’
Water existed even in the air.
‘If you think about it-’
Cale’s powers existed no matter what domain he went to.
‘Maybe-’
Cale’s expression turned odd.
The Dragon Lord knew how to control time.
Maybe the way to fight against him-
‘Maybe it is space?’
Time is said to exist beyond space.
But humans still exist within those spaces, in those domains.
‘Ah, I don’t know.
Let’s forget about the hard things for now.’
Cale chose to focus on his senses instead.
– Yeah. That’s it!
The Sky Eating Water told him to do it like this.
– I contemplated it quite a bit.
I am water, how can I take down the sky?
How can I take down a god?
She contemplated it and contemplated it some more.
She herself had decided that the reason for her existence was to eat the sky.
– I then had a thought.
What kind of place do gods live in?
And seeing the Blue Wolf and the God of Chaos advent a portion of themselves to this place made me think some more.
She couldn't hide her excited smile.
– Ah. Why do I have to go up?
I just have to eat them when the sky or when the god comes down.
She then had a thought.
– Ah, right. I exist in the sky as well.
Why did I think that I was not in the sky?
I am everywhere.
The Sky Eating Water slowly moved toward the answer.
– I am also not alone.
Cale slightly scowled.
He had already approved of it, but…
– I can’t help but be worried.
Cale ignored the Super Rock and focused on the water in this domain.
“Ah.”
The World Tree saw it.
"The water-”
The snow, the water in this domain was all being sucked up toward the sky.
They all seeped into a large arrow.
The arrow then became smaller and smaller.
The large arrow getting smaller and smaller made it look more violent than before, but…
“How could such a power-”
The power that condensed and compressed was carrying a different fear from before.
The World Tree thought that the ground, the sky, anything struck by this arrow would be flipped over.
‘Is this guy really human?
Is someone who uses such a power really human?
No.
Maybe he is nature?’
Even the World Tree was just a small creature in front of nature.
Nature was the combination of countless lives.
Even gods could not control all aspects of nature as they pleased.
‘Maybe-
Maybe this person is the answer to this issue and the God of Chaos?
He is not a god but is nature.
A power that only gods who represent a concept could have… Maybe this person could go up against it because he has nature inside him?’
Cale, as someone who had his own world, as basically nature itself, became clearly imprinted in the young boy's mind.
He subconsciously curled up.
“Pierce through.”
The arrow moved according to Cale's order.
Drip.
Dark red blood dripped down his mouth.
However, Cale just gulped the blood down and opened his eyes.
The spot his hand was pointing toward…
He looked toward a single spot on the ash-colored cloud.
– As you command.
The Sky Eating Water flew forward as a small arrow.
The arrow slowly flew up…
Although this domain was so large that the ends could not be seen…
The ash-colored clouds were spread just as far and looking down at the ground.
The arrow looked like a small dot as it aimed for a single spot.
That dot finally reached the sky.
——!
An inexplicably large explosion echoed out.
“Ugh!”
Cale subconsciously lifted his arms to cover his face as a gust of wind blew by.
– Focus!
The Sky Eating Water shouted.
– I've reached it!
I'm piercing through it!
Yes, I pierced it.
Well, no.
It’s an extremely small dent to call it pierced.
The arrow had just pushed its point only a tiny bit into the cloud.
– This is just the start!
It was starting now.
He needed to focus.
But the gust that blew out of that little dent in the cloud…
“Huff. Huff.”
The World Tree laid flat against the ground.
The fire that looked as if it would burn the young boy, the chains that the young boy had cast aside… The water that had been protecting the boy from the fire and the chains…
Everything lost its power for a moment.
The grey gust…
The fear instilled within it came down to the ground.
– Fuck!
The Sky Eating Water shouted in annoyance.
Primal fear…
An instinctual sense of terror that came from the depths of your soul…
The futility that contained such emotion rode the winds and swept through the ground.
As for the arrow that had reached the starting point of that wind…
Cale felt the futility wrap around the arrow as he brushed his face with both hands.
The fear that he could sense again…
The pressure that felt as if it would dominate him…
The power of the God of Chaos that he faced at Ryan's lair…
Cale had been unable to do anything in front of that power.
“Haaaaa.”
He let out a deep sigh.
The Sky Eating Water urgently asked.
– Cale, are you going to give up?
Cale opened his eyes.
“What nonsense.”
The Dominating Aura then responded.
– I knew I was right!
This power was used by the Saint, not the God of Chaos!
Primal fear and instinctual sense of terror.
It made a person feel like a herbivore in front of a predatory animal.
This feeling of despair as if you were a pitiful creature right about to have your neck crunched on by the wild beast chasing you…
‘It’s weak.’
But the strength of the feeling was weak.
Last time, the God of Chaos’s power had started from the Second Saint Dragon, who was a believer.
That turned into numerous eyes before a portion of the God of Chaos advented, eventually leading to the Second Saint Dragon disappearing.
‘Is it because the god didn't personally use the power?’
Or was it because he was used to it now?
“Seep in.”
The water arrow lost its form.
It then seeped into the gap that it had created.
“Ugh!”
Of course, it was not easy.
Drip.
More blood dripped down Cale’s mouth. He closed his eyes.
The ash-colored clouds…
Inside of them,
‘Futility.’
It felt like nothing existed here.
Having closed his eyes, it felt like he could see inside the clouds as if it was an illusion.
The feeling of futility surrounding his body made him shake.
‘But that's not all.’
But it was not just this sense of futility that existed there.
‘It's full.’
Cale felt a wall that was blocking anything from seeping in.
Futility and emptiness as well as fullness.
Chaos got its name because everything existed together.
“Ha!”
Cale laughed.
Inside that chaos…
Through the wind of futility that brushed past him…
– Found it.
“We found it.”
The Dominating Aura and Cale found something else.
The water seeped into the clouds and finally found its prey.
– That’s the Saint’s power!
The traces left by the person who created these ash-colored clouds with the God of Chaos’ authority…
– Let’s get rid of those traces that are maintaining these clouds!
The water shouted.
The aura commented after that.
– Get rid of it?! We need to swallow it!
Cale then chimed in.
“We can just swallow it to get rid of it.”
There was no need to fight about it.
They just had to do both things.
Cale's body started to shake.
This was a physical reaction from being submerged in primal fear.
Nonetheless, Cale’s mind did not submerge into the fear and sense of terror.
The Dominating Aura and the Sky Eating Water…
He didn’t know about all of the secrets behind their births, but this combination-
‘I can get used to the God of Chaos’ aura!
I can also aim for the gaps within it!’
He could see a path.
Cale started to smile.
But doing so made the dark red blood drench his clothes.
However, Cale did not stop.
His body was shaking but he continued to move with the water and aura.
He stood there with his eyes closed and his hand extended up to the sky.
‘Over there.’
Something caught his senses.
Somewhere within the ash-colored clouds…
Probably at the center…
– Fuck! I'm almost out of water!
The Sky Eating Water had lost a lot of water creating a path to the center.
But the path that was created…
– I did it!
It touched it.
– There’s an eye.
Cale should have been seeing darkness as his eyes were closed, but…
He spotted an eye.
It was different from the numerous eyes that had appeared on the grey wall.
There was a single closed eye at the center of the clouds.
That eye then opened.
Gold eyes.
Yes, the eye was a beautiful gold color that resembled the radiant sun.
The sparkling eye was pure and transparent.
It seemed like a single flame that arose within the chaos.
Cale had a thought as he faced that beauty.
‘It’s the Saint.’
– That’s the Saint! Kahahaha!
The Dominating Aura was so happy he didn’t know what to do.
Of course, Cale was already laughing and dripping blood everywhere.
The corners of his lips rose up as he smiled brightly.
It could not be helped.
– He’s scared!
Aura was right as the gold eye started to shake the moment it saw Cale.
It felt like fear that a person would feel when something unbelievable happened.
– You are right! Ahahahaha! You think we can’t do it because you used a motherfucking god’s power? Hey, bluffing aura! Make that bastard kneel!
The Sky Eating Water, which had sounded weak moments ago, sounded confident again.
The Dominating Aura's power started from Cale’s body and started to spread out.
“Huff, huff, huff.”
The World Tree was breathing heavily as he raised his head.
A different aura had filled this domain.
It had pushed the winds back.
It was a strong aura different from the sense of futility.
What was within it-
‘Yes, worship.’
Having experienced the futility and fear made the true nature of this aura clear to him.
When you first felt this aura, you would feel fear or terror at the intense pressure released by this dominating force.
However…
‘It's different.’
This fear and terror-
It was different from what you would feel when experiencing futility and primal fear.
‘Marvel.’
When you felt the wonder and marvel of nature…
The fear and terror you would subconsciously start to feel…
In addition-
‘Worship.’
There was also acceptance.
Accepting that nature was the only thing that could rule over nature.
Accepting that it was foolish to try to dominate nature. The omnipotent sense of marvel that helped you come to that realization and start to worship nature.
An overwhelming sense of marvel could feel like fear.
“Ah.”
The boy subconsciously gasped.
Cale Henituse, who had his shirt drenched in dark red blood…
He looked up at the sky and slowly opened his eyes.
His reddish brown eyes, for some reason, felt warm.
It resembled the ground that had felt warm sunlight despite it being winter.
Or maybe the warmth of the ground despite being wet lets you know that winter is about to end and spring is about to arrive…
The boy clenched his hands.
He could feel the warm ground.
He realized something.
‘Ah.
Finally, this domain is disappearing.
No.
The domain still exists but the coldness and flames are disappearing.
They are returning to their true appearances.
I am the World Tree.
The ground for trees to lay down their roots…
Are finally appearing.
Yes, I can go back to the ground.
I can go back home.
I have no choice but to bow my head at the marvel of nature and live within it.
The boy slowly stood up.
He had no feet but it didn't matter.
The clouds were scattering.
The gold eye appeared from within the clouds as Cale Henituse looked up.
Cale smiled while looking at the eye.
– Let’s eat it up!
What swept over the eye shaking in fear was the water that had persistently cut through the fear to arrive at its destination.
The gold eye could not run away because of the aura contained in the water.
It could only flail in fear some more.
The water touched the gold eye.
It was at that moment.
The gold eye looked down at Cale.
Cale looked up at the gold eye.
He heard an unfamiliar voice.
– How, this, this kind of power-!
‘It’s the Saint.’
Cale realized that the owner of this voice was the Saint.
– How could a human overcome the sense of futility-
But he could not finish his sentence.
The water that touched the gold eye turned sharp again.
It turned back into an arrow and pierced through the eye.
– A, aaaaaaaaaah! My mind, my mind-!
They heard the Saint’s desperate shouts.
However, the shouting soon disappeared.
Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang!
There was a loud noise as well as a large explosion.
The gold eye and water exploded together.
The ash-colored clouds instantly got pushed back by the explosion or swallowed.
Cale just quietly observed everything.
Instead of pushing the God of Chaos’s power back as planned, they were able to get rid of the ash-colored clouds by swallowing the traces of the Saint.
But there was something more important.
Cale had gotten what he wanted right before the explosion.
The moment the arrow pierced the gold eye…
– I should be able to imitate it properly now.
The Dominating Aura sounded full as he said that.
– I swallowed the things imbued inside the gold eye.
We can make something like this eye now too.
That was enough.
Cale could see the five-colored radiant light pouring down now that the ash-colored clouds were going away.
“Beautiful.”
This light truly was beautiful.
It looked like an aurora in the middle of the day.
Cale slowly lowered his head.
He then looked forward.
The five-colored radiant light touched the ground, and…
“You are standing.”
The World Tree was crying.
The boy had feet again.
The feet were stuck in the ground and resembled roots.
The boy was finally standing back up.
Cale just half-assedly wiped the blood dripping down from his mouth as he watched.
Thankfully, things were resolved well without him coughing up blood.
He had also gained a lot.
‘The God of Chaos. It would be difficult to imitate the original, but… We should be able to imitate the Saint now, right?’
The Dominating Aura answered Cale's question.
– Of course!
Cale was satisfied with that and raised his head.
‘Is it as I thought?’
The domain tied down by time had disappeared.
A new domain was present.
War and Chaos…
The remains of those two had disappeared and now it was all Cale’s aura and the World Tree's aura.
The only thing that filled this domain was the light shining down from the foundation of this world.
Craaaaaaack-
The domain started to crack.
Time could not stop a domain that was cracking.
“Ah.”
The World Tree suddenly knelt down.
Cale saw the five-colored radiant light shining even brighter.
This was the largest steam of the foundation of this world.
Naturally, it was normal for the owner of the stream to appear.
– Oh my dearest Angel-nim!
It was the foundation of this world.
Cale heard her voice.
– Thank you very much! You truly are an angel!
The domain breaking and the chained stream regaining its original appearance made it naturally start to flow again.
Time could not hold it back.
Craaaack-
Cale’s smile became even wider.
‘I gained another way to fight against time.’
Even if it wasn't against all time, he had a way to get out of a prison like this now.
He just had to break the prison itself.
“I'll see you outside, sir.”
He heard the World Tree's voice.
Cale nodded his head.
“Yes. I will see you there.”
The World Tree had spoken respectfully to him but Cale didn’t pay it much attention.
He could feel his body being lifted up into the air.
His eyes automatically closed.
He had a feeling that he would automatically be transported out of this domain.
Cale let this warm aura take his body.
‘Now I just need to go out and take care of things one at a time.’
He needed to chat with Axion.
He needed to connect the portal to the Central Plains.
He had to greet Raon, Choi Han, and the others first as well.
There was so much to do.
‘Well, I'll just have to get through them.’
Cale was happy to have gained a lot of things for the future.
Drip.
Cale let the blood drip as he was tired of wiping it as he stood there satisfied.
‘Should I practice the eye for now?
Wouldn't that be great to use against the Dragon Lord?’
The Dominating Aura answered in a casual tone.
– Ah, I think it will be difficult to use it right away.
‘Hmm?’
– I need to first digest what I have eaten. I consumed the things imbued inside the Saint’s eye so shouldn’t I digest it?
‘…I guess so?’
– Yeah. Plus, we went overboard today.
‘…What is going on?’
He had a bad feeling about this.
Cale felt his body float up and start to move.
– Hahahaha!
The Dominating Aura laughed instead of answering.
As for Cale, he was thinking about it.
‘How exactly do you digest things?’
Aura did not answer him.
The World Tree said something instead.
"Sir, you will be back in the original domain when you open your eyes.”
Cale felt his feet touch the ground and opened his eyes.
He then flinched.
“You, why are you here-”
Clopeh was right in front of him.
Cale opened his mouth in shock but could not finish his sentence.
“Ugh.”
‘No way!’
He tried his best to get through it.
“Ugh!”
But he could not handle it.
Clopeh's white hair and handsome face became covered in dark red blood.
Cale had coughed up blood right in Clopeh's face.
“Cough! Cough!”
But he could not pay Clopeh any attention as he was barely managing to breathe through the endlessly pouring blood.
The Dominating Aura finally spoke.
– Being full makes me sleepy.
I should be done digesting when I wake up, right?
‘Fuck!’
Cale realized the meaning behind those words and did his best to maintain his consciousness.
It allowed him to see his current condition.
‘Huh?’
Unlike the blood he just coughed up, his clothes were full of dry blood.
His upper body looked as if he had been bleeding for a long time. There was blood all over the ground as well.
‘Ah Maybe? Was I bleeding here as well when I was bleeding in the prison?’
That was the last thought Cale had before fainting for the first time in a long while.
That was the reason he could not tell what had happened to this rear garden nor see the looks of astonishment and worship from the people around him.
