Chapter 1102 — Book 2: Chapter 299: I'll bet on you (1)

Clopeh caught Cale's body as he fell forward.
Cale’s pale face that was almost blue…
The dark red blood dripping out of his mouth despite already being unconscious…
His slumped unconscious body…
"What is this-”
The Grand Elder shook in fear the moment Clopeh responded to his voice and turned his head.
‘His gaze-, why is it so-’
Clopeh had no emotions showing on his face despite being covered in Cale’s blood.
And his gaze, it was odd.
Honestly speaking, he just looked like a crazy bastard.
A warning that came from the wisdom of his hundreds of years of life as an Elf flashed in his mind.
This bastard is dangerous right now.
Smile.
However, that bastard gently smiled.
He then opened his mouth.
“I can't leave my liege here.”
He then looked past the Grand Elder's shoulder to the approaching Axion.
“…….”
Axion silently looked down at Cale.
He then looked away from Cale and at the World Tree.
The tree was standing firmly with the five-colored radiant flowers blooming on it.
Admiration flashed for a moment on his cold face.
“Butler, prepare a room.”
“Yes sir.”
The butler slightly bowed toward Clopeh as he spoke.
“I will escort you there.”
The butler helped Clopeh put Cale on his back.
His back quickly became wet.
Blood was continuing to flow out of Cale's mouth without stopping.
The butler saw this and quickly started to walk.
Clopeh started to follow him before stopping.
He then looked around.
He then felt the gazes directed at him, no, at Cale, and opened his mouth.
“Once my liege awakens, you will have to come with whatever he wants, no matter what it is.”
Axion, the Grand Elder, Elza, and the First Bishop…
They all finally looked at Clopeh.
Clopeh didn’t even wipe away the drying blood as he smiled.
“I don’t think there is anything stupider than ignoring this phenomenal sight.”
Clopeh then started to walk again.
He mumbled in a low voice.
“The hero's sacrifice. That is not a legend, only a tragedy.”
The butler saw the eccentric passion in Clopeh's eyes and subconsciously looked away as he quickened his pace.
As the butler and Clopeh departed… The people looking at them as well as the slumped Cale could not look away until they disappeared out the entrance of the rear garden.
“Ho.”
The First Bishop was the one who broke the silence.
He couldn’t figure out whether he was sighing or gasping in astonishment, but he realized what he should be doing right now.
“I, I will follow them too!”
He quickly moved toward the same direction as Clopeh.
However, his body was staggering.
He could not put much force in his legs.
‘Fuck.’
He tried to put some strength into his legs.
This was probably because he had been suppressed by that aura pushing down on him for a long time.
‘No.’
That was not the only reason.
The First Bishop bit down on his lips.
That helped him recover a bit.
‘What did I just see?’
He could not believe what he had just watched.
His legs were staggering a bit less as he did his best to walk.
The rear garden was still just as beautiful.
All sorts of flowers filled this place.
“Ha!”
He kept laughing.
He couldn't believe it.
It could not be helped.
The flowers he was looking at were the same flowers but also not the same.
"They are newly bloomed flowers-”
The beautiful flowers in bloom…
There were piles of flower petals underneath them.
All of the flowers in the garden had wilted and then bloomed again.
‘Fuck!
The inside of his mouth was going dry.
The First Bishop…
He recalled what he had just seen.
Shaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-
Just as he thought he heard water from somewhere…
As the World Tree and all of the flowers started to get water drops on them as if they had been rained on…
‘That was the start.’
The cold sense of futility and the pressure suffocating them started to slowly disappear.
The change did not start from the power Axion had used on the ground.
The ground they were standing on just gave off its warmth.
The reason the air changed was because of the water.
The clear, refreshing, and clean air started to fill the garden.
It did so extremely quickly.
‘And-’
In addition-
“Ha-”
The sight that followed was extraordinary.
The suffocating aura that suddenly started to come out of the World Tree's location…
It was either empty or completely full.
Furthermore, the First Bishop felt as if it was stimulating the instinctual fear inside his mind.
He just felt like he would die.
He just kept feeling that it was very scary
He subconsciously curled his body forward.
He could tell that the aura flowing out of the World Tree was only a faint little piece of it, but…
That aura soon disappeared.
‘It was swallowed.’
To be more accurate, a refreshing breeze headed toward the World Tree.
It wrapped around the tree, and then-
‘Water appeared.’
A whirlpool appeared and swirled around the World Tree before shooting up into the sky.
The First Bishop raised his head.
He could see the night sky.
Yes. It was night right now.
But for some reason, although it was only for a moment, when the whirlpool shot up into the sky and disappeared…
Why had he seen something else for that short moment?
Not the darkness of the night…
Not the sky…
But a piece of something that was glowing radiantly in five colors.
The First Bishop knew what it was.
‘The Foundation of this world.’
That existence had shown itself here, albeit for only an instant.
Furthermore, the five-colored radiant light had landed on the garden.
"Also-”
After that…
“…Destruction. Birth.”
Destruction and birth both happened.
All of the flowers had wilted.
Then they bloomed again.
Furthermore, the entire garden filled with a warm aura as the scent of flowers spread.
The destruction and birth of life, such a phenomenal sight, happened in front of their eyes despite being for a short period of time.
The First Bishop smelled the scent of flowers that filled the rear garden and thought to himself.
‘The World Tree has returned to her senses. She survived.’
And this-
All of this-
‘It was all done by one person!’
He could see Cale Henituse on Clopeh's back.
The First Bishop quickened his steps.
“Ha, haha-”
For some odd reason, he couldn't help but laugh.
He thought that destruction was the only future for this world, but…
He thought that they should stop the Pope's destructive actions, but…
He thought that he didn't have much life left, but…
‘This is driving me nuts.’
For some odd reason, he felt like he wanted to do something, anything.
It was just that, it was just that…
He wanted to have hope.
This vague feeling of things changing, this feeling of certainty despite having no proof, filled his mind.
He thought he was foolish for having such thoughts that only the innocent youth should have, but he also thought that this time, it was for real.
He had seen the hope with his eyes.
The Dragon Lord…
The person who would really stop that bastard and save the world had appeared.
‘This sight-’
He gulped.
He thought about the video recording device in his arm.
The First Bishop had not moved empty handed as he was going to find an Inquisitor and a Grand Elder.
He had brought a video recording device with him because he thought that he should take anything that could be recorded and helpful to them.
He made up his mind to show this video to the Pope.
He thought that it may lead to the Pope starting to take steps in the other direction.
“He’s here.”
The First Bishop quickly caught up to Clopeh who greeted him.
Peek.
He could see Cale’s face.
He had looked quite odd right before he fainted.
He was dripping with blood, but he looked completely firm, fainting as if he was falling asleep.
There was a strange sense of déjà vu.
‘He looked like he was used to it.’
He looked so calm as if this was nothing special.
The way his knight supported him without saying much made it easy for him to understand that this had happened many times before.
“Bishop-nim.”
He heard the knight’s voice at that moment.
“Yes?”
The First Bishop turned to look at him and flinched.
Clopeh had a faint smile on his face as he spoke warmly.
“Did you save the footage properly?”
“……! H, how do you know that-”
The First Bishop was truly flustered.
‘How did this human notice my video recording device?’
The First Bishop blankly answered as Clopeh kept his eyes on him.
“Yes, yes sir. I’m sure that it was saved properly.”
“I see.”
Clopeh nodded his head and calmly continued to speak.
“May I ask you for a favor?”
“Excuse me? Ah, yes, yes!”
"While I am attending to my liege, could you show that footage to the rest of our group that is coming tomorrow?”
‘The rest of the group coming tomorrow?’
The First Bishop thought of the young black Dragon and the black-haired swordsman.
“That shouldn't be a problem.”
“Great. Could you also tell them, ‘also send to the Black Castle.’ That one sentence should be enough. They will take care of the rest.”
“I will do that.”
The First Bishop agreed since it wasn’t something difficult.
Clopeh simply smiled.
Axion, who was left in the garden once Cale and the others left, looked toward the World Tree.
“It revived.”
He turned away from the World Tree and started to walk toward the exit.
“Oh esteemed World Tree-!”
He could hear the Grand Elder rushing to the World Tree behind him. As for Elza, she had lost strength in her legs and plopped down on the ground.
Axion was walking past her when they made eye contact.
"M, my liege!”
Axion calmly spoke to the flustered girl.
“The World Tree has awakened, so I am worried about tricking the eyes of the Inquisitors. I'm just relieved that the Inquisitors did not watch all of what just happened here.”
“Excuse me?”
She was confused and still out of it when Axion started to speak again.
“Oh World Tree.”
He was talking to the World Tree behind him.
“The Dragon Lord would have felt it the moment your prison was destroyed.”
Elza's eyes opened wide.
Axion looked away just as her eyes filled with fear and resumed walking.
“It seems the Dragon Lord will return soon.”
Step, step.
He raised his head as he walked.
The five-colored radiant sky that had appeared only over the rear garden had disappeared, returning to normal.
"The answer is now clear.”
Axion's eyes clouded over.
A faint smile appeared on his cold face before it disappeared.
* * *
Cale scowled.
"Where is this place?”
He had opened his eyes in a new dimension as soon as he fainted.
It was similar to how he would have to see the past or a new sight whenever he fainted in the past.
‘It's been a while.’
It had been a while since he had been in a situation like this.
Cale looked around.
“But there’s nothing to see here.”
It was a completely dark area.
– Why is there nothing to see?
He heard the Dominating Aura’s voice.
– There is one thing.
‘I guess. I guess there is one thing to look at.”
Cale started to walk.
Up or down… Left or right… He couldn't really tell how he was walking in this dark domain, but Cale moved toward the single source of light.
The small light, the only thing sparkling in this place…
This radiant golden light…
Cale looked at it and opened his mouth.
“It reminds me of the Saint’s eye.”
– That is exactly what that is. We swallowed the power within it.
The Dominating Aura spoke in an excited voice.
– Now then, we should digest it, right?
Cale let out a chuckle.
He felt like he understood why he needed to faint to digest it.
He extended his hand toward the golden light.
Paaaaat-
A bright light swept over him and Cale could see that the darkness disappeared, revealing a new dimension.
He then flinched.
[Raising my very own precious omnipotent god!]
[Welcome to New World!]
[You have taken your first step into this land. Could you please tell us your name?]
“Excuse me?”
[Tutorial Quest 1. Select your nickname.]
Cale was truly anxious.
‘…Did I suddenly end up in the game world?’
"What is this?”
[Will you select ‘What is this’ as your nickname?]
‘Fuck.’
Cale started to get annoyed.
