Chapter 1115 — Book 2: Chapter 312: Eccentric Power (7)
14 min read ·
The bear that opened its eyes was scared.
It was shaking and it curled up even more despite being tied because it could not look at Cale.
“Human! I feel like we've become the villains!”
‘I know, right?
This feels so iffy.’
“Hey, what is going on?”
Pat.
He gently placed his hand.
The bear, no, the heinous Dark Bear gasped and-
“Hiccup, sob.”
It started to tear up.
“Meeeeeow!”
Hong became surprised.
“H, hey bear! It's okay! Don’t cry!”
Raon became flustered.
“It’s fine, nya. You'll calm down a bit if you take slow deep breaths, nya.”
Pat pat. On consoled the bear.
“Huuuuuuuu , huuuuuuuuu.”
The bear did its best to slowly breathe in and out to calm down.
However, it seemed to find it difficult to do so.
“Are you scared of the Demonic race?”
The moment Cale asked that question…
“Huff, huff!”
The breathing became rushed again. The bear had turned pale the moment Cale mentioned ‘Demonic.’
It may seem impossible that a bear doll would turn pale, but… It really did turn pale.
“Hey, hey.”
Cale started to think.
‘This guy is going to hurt itself like this.’
“It’s okay. I'm not going to hurt you.”
"Sob, sob!”
The bear didn’t seem to know what to do.
“I, I-”
The bear stuttered. Then the moment it made eye contact with Cale…
“I, I’m a useless bear doll, sir! There’s nothing for you to gain by killing me, sir! Please don't kill me! I'm the lowest ranking figure in this place, sir! I'm even lower than the casual monsters- sob!”
‘Hmm?’
“Aren't you a boss?”
“N, no. I’m just like a messenger. Anyway, I work next to our liege so he did bestow upon me a position, but… Sob, I'm just a lowly, unnecessary existence, sob, hiccup!”
“Hey, hey.”
Cale extended his hand toward the bear…
“Eeeek!”
But stopped as the bear freaked out.
On patted the bear instead.
“Don’t cry, calm down. I think it’d be great if we could calmly talk things out, nya.”
The bear looked toward the kitten. On patted the bear’s fluffy paws with her front paw.
"Hey bear, eat this!”
“This is delicious, nya! The palace’s greatest patissier made it, nya!”
Raon and Hong handed the bear some cookies from the crown prince's castle.
The dark bear received it and opened its mouth with tears still dangling by its eyes.
“Huuuu-”
And…
“Huuuuuu-”
It did its best to take deep breaths and calm itself down.
And finally…
“That, to tell you the truth, sir…”
The bear started its story.
Once the story was over…
“So…”
Cale sat on a cotton candy-shaped cloud chair and made eye contact with the bear.
“You are a boss but realistic you are an existence that does all sorts of lowly tasks?”
“… Yes sir.”
The Eight Evils.
The New World, which made up the ‘Raising my very own precious omnipotent god’ game…
The Eight evils of this place were more like specialized fields or regions rather than dungeons.
They were all different in size and shape and had their own unique themes. The number in front of the Evil was just the order of the field creation, not the strength ranking of the bosses.
“The Third Evil, the Hell of Darkness, is 99, no, now 100 floors. It has a hundred-story tower and the desolate volcanic region around it, but…”
“The Seventh Evil's concept is a collection of brutal fairy tales?”
“Y, yes sir……!”
"As a result, the field is quite vast so a messenger was necessary to go everywhere. And that is your job?”
“Yes it is, sir.”
“But because you freely come and go at the Lord’s Castle, which is at the center of all of these fairy tales, and because you share the will of your liege… You were set as a boss instead of a regular monster?”
“Y, yes sir!”
The bear received Cale’s gaze and urgently and frantically nodded its head as it answered.
“My liege chose me and I have been named a boss since then, sir!”
"Why did Neo choose you?”
The bear was able to relax because the atmosphere around them was calm and could answer a bit better now.
“He said I was a mutant?”
"A mutant?”
“Yes sir. Umm, I don’t really know either, but… Mm, he said I was a special monster that shows up every so often. One that he can communicate with well, a loophole of sorts created by the system. He said I was qualified to be a messenger, sir!”
Mutant monsters.
Cale had a feeling he knew what existences it was talking about.
“…I guess you are the same as Count Ruiphe?”
“Eek!”
The bear started to shake again.
“What is it?”
“T, the Ghost of Darkness-”
‘Ah. Right.’
Count Ruiphe was known as Ghost of Darkness Ruiphe.
“You're scared because he is a part of the Demonic race?”
“Y, yes sir!”
The bear fiercely nodded its head.
“Furthermore, the Hell of Darkness is known as the most cruel of the Eight Evils and the place with the greatest number of deaths. I have never been there, but they are said to be the most heinous-!”
The bear suddenly stopped talking.
Because the person in front of it was the hidden boss of the Third Evil. No, he was the final boss.
“N, no, I, I am not talking badly about the Third Evil, sir! I'm saying it is the g, greatest of the E, Eight Evils!”
“Yes. Yes. I am the greatest evil.”
Cale nodded his head with no complaint while the children averaging ten-years-old and Choi Han looked at him with odd gazes. But Cale had no idea about it.
Cale really didn't see Hong shaking his head at him.
Gulp.
Because the bear’s gaze suddenly changed.
“Then, does that mean Cale Henituse-nim is the true Third Evil that has that Ghost of Darkness as his subordinate?”
He was not stuttering either.
‘What’s up with this guy?’
Cale found it odd but nodded his head.
"Well, I guess you could say that.”
“…That’s amazing, sir!”
The bear rattled on with a sparkle in its eyes.
“The Hell of Darkness pretends to be weak against the users just entering the tutorial, but you are the evil among evils that rules the place that is actually the most brutal of all evils! Furthermore, you are the dark shadow that has been watching everything in the shadows while Ghost of Darkness Ruiphe is seen as the face of the place! A mysterious figure that nobody in this New World, even the leaders of the other Eight Evils know about!
Ah, ah……”
The bear teared up.
“The greatest of all evils! I want to pull my eyes out for not recognizing the greatest of all evils!”
‘What is up with this crazy bear?’
– Human, I think even Clopeh is better than this guy. At least that guy talks well.
Cale ignored Raon’s assessment and stoically talked to the bear.
“Either way, I'm only a half-Demon. I'm not a real member of the Demonic race so don’t worry.”
“Mm.”
The bear’s face turned unsettled.
“But you are a Half-Demon that has received the cursed blood, right sir?”
“Yes?”
Cale knew his title now that Choi Han told him.
The Dark Bear hesitated while looking at the calm Cale before opening its mouth again.
“To the Demonic race, the cursed blood is the blood of an enemy existence.”
‘Hmm?’
Cale flinched.
‘An enemy of the Demonic race?
Uh, this maybe-’
“The only blood we call cursed is the blood of the Divine World or the World of the Gods. They are the ‘enemies’ to the monsters or Demonic race.”
The bear looked at Cale as if it was wondering why Cale was feigning ignorance about all of this.
As for Cale, he was flustered.
“…It could also correspond to the blood of a noble existence there. A figure with a critical curse against the Demonic race-”
The bear's voice trailed off.
There was silence for a bit.
Cale looked around.
The children averaging ten-years-old were looking up at him with sparkling gazes.
They seemed quite interested.
As for Choi Han. He was looking at Cale as if Cale was a puppy who had done something wrong.
‘No-
I really didn't do anything this time!
System One, that punk registered me as she wished!
I, I didn't do it-!’
But Cale could not say anything.
He knew he shouldn't talk about those things in front of the bear.
‘I'll think about it later.’
A Half-Demon that has received the cursed blood.
He needed to investigate this title in front of his name.
“Ahem. Hem.”
The silence was broken.
The bear coughed to loosen its throat as it continued.
"The thing that scared me was your greatness that allows you to act like a normal human without any pain despite having that incompatible blood inside of you.”
The bear’s gaze was sparkling so much that stars might shoot out of them.
‘This is burdensome.’
The bear continued as Cale had that thought.
“The scariest blade is one that cannot be seen. It is the blade behind your back.”
It sounded quite solemn.
“”I felt that Cale Henituse-nim might become the scariest blade against the Demonic race and the users. So h, how could I not be scared, sir?”
The bear sounded a bit scared again as its voice was shaking at the end, but… It was calmer than before.
Probably because it thought that Cale would at least not kill it.
It could guess why.
“You must want the information I know, right sir?
Ha.”
The bear let out a gasp-like laugh.
“Why you came to this place right away… Why I was able to have an audience with the Third Evil in this Time Hell before the other bosses… I understand it now.”
The bear shook its head as if it was amazed at its own brilliance.
Of course, it was still tied up.
“Cale Henituse-nim.”
The bear looked at Cale with a solemn gaze.
“As the existence that knows the entire field of the Seventh Evil… Through I, the Heinous Dark Bear-”
A determined voice came out of the bear's mouth.
“You must be planning on taking over the Seventh Evil?”
‘Hmm?’
Cale started to think.
‘What is up with this bear?’
But the Heinous Dark Bear was not done.
“You want to set up a boss like you did in the Third Hell while being the puppeteer in the shadows?”
The bear shook its head again.
“Ha!”
It let out more scoff-like laughs.
“The most heinous of them all, the Third Evil, wasn’t enough for you so you aimed for the Seventh Evil that would have the largest field after the upgrade. This Dark Bear is unable to hide its praise for your wild ambitions!”
‘What is up with this bear?
But…
I like it.’
Cale motioned to Choi Han with his eyes.
Choi Han was sharp and quickly released the ropes tying the bear down.
“As I expected.”
The bear spoke seriously.
“My hypothesis must have been correct.”
“Yes. Dark Bear.”
Cale called it Dark Bear instead of bear or teddy bear.
“You truly are intelligent.”
The compliment made the Dark Bear smile.
“But there is something you don’t know.’
“!”
The bear couldn't believe it but Cale walked over and placed his hand on the bear’s shoulder.
“Why do you think I didn’t kill you?”
Of course, he did smack it on the back of the head a few times.
“Simply because you know the information about all of the fields in the Seventh Evil? Or because you know all of Neo's orders? You think it was just for those reasons?
Pfft.”
He chuckled. The bear subconsciously flinched at that laugh.
It then realized it.
‘Ah, this presence……!’
Yes. This pressures surrounding it… It was an aura that only belonged to someone who rules over everything.
The bear realized that the pressure it had been feeling until now had not been a delusion. It also realized that this guy really was the dark shadow of the Third Evil.
“T, then why did you not kill me, sir?”
The bear felt its heart beating wildly and asked.
The greatest of all evils answered its question.
“What did I say to you? Heinous but smart-”
The Dark Bear tried to remember.
The greatest of all evils had said something to him.
‘‘Heinous but smart-’
The bear and Cale said it at the same time.
“Great and mighty Dark Bear.’
“Great and mighty Dark Bear.’
Cale continued to speak.
“Yes. You are a great and mighty Dark Bear. You are not just a mere mutant. The Ghost of Darkness, Ruiphe… He is someone just like you.”
“Ah.”
The bear gasped.
“Based on what I've seen, it looks like the other bosses must have looked down on you so far. They probably called you a puny little messenger or things like that. Isn't that right?”
The bear teared up at Cale’s question.
“T, that is correct, sir!”
“Yes. They do not know of your value.”
Cale pointed to himself with his finger.
“But I know.”
He spoke to the bear almost in a whisper.
“That is why Heinous Dark Bear, an existence that is like the Ghost of Darkness, Ruiphe. I want you.”
“Ah, aah-”
The bear lost strength in its legs and plopped down on the ground despite no longer being tied.
It knelt down and raised its head.
The greatest of all evils was looking down at it.
It looked up at the greatest of all evils.
“Ah, ah-”
It felt like only it and the greatest of all evils existed in the world right now.
The sorrow of being looked down upon until now, which led to it doing administrative work over battles as it traversed through this vast fairy tale world- those terrible times- the lonely days it sat alone because it knew this world was a game and it could see its rules-
“Ugh. Sob!”
“It’s okay.”
‘T, the greatest of all evils is gently consoling me!’
“Dark Bear. Come with me.”
“… Cale Henituse-nim-”
“I know you are loyal to Neo. However, although he did make you a boss, he made you the lowest ranking of them all, making you feel like you were worthless.”
Cale extended his hand toward the bear…
“Come to me.”
He then spoke sternly.
“I will be a true liege who knows of your value. I will give you a position befitting your abilities.”
“Ah.”
The bear gasped.
It barely managed to gather enough strength to stand back up.
The greatest of all evils said the following to him.
“The Seventh Evil. I will give this place to you. My heinous but smart, great Dark Bear.”
Cale tightly held the fluffy front paw that the bear placed on his hand.
He then smiled warmly.
The bear’s cheeks flushed.
– Hey Choi Han, the human is scamming the bear right now, right?
Cale and the bear were in their own little world without caring about the children averaging ten-years-old or Choi Han.
Cale spoke to the bear in a serious tone.
“Hurry, lead me to the location of the reference point. You should know why I need to go there, right?”
“Yes, my liege!”
The bear was already calling Cale its liege.
“That fucker Neo said this!”
Neo, the bear’s original liege, was now that fucker Neo.
“He said that place is the reference point to connect Aipotu and the New World!”
‘Hmm?’
Cale flinched.
"Furthermore, the mass that can destroy eighty percent of Aipotu, that explosion device, is there as well!”
‘Huh?’
Cale's pupils started to shake.
‘I was just going to destroy the reference point to lead the flow into chaos?
Then we would use the chaos to create a dimension that was beneficial to us?’
But the bear’s words carried important information greater than what Cale had expected.
“Please follow me, sir! The reference point has already activated!”
‘What?
It has already activated?
Eighty percent of Aipotu will soon be destroyed?’
“Choi Han.”
Cale pointed to the waddling teddy bear running in the front.
“Yes, Cale-nim.”
“Uhh, uhh-”
Choi Han grabbed the bear and placed it on his shoulders.
Cale shouted to the shocked bear.
“Great and mighty Dark Bear! Only you know the answer!”
“Ah-”
“Hurry up and tell me the location of the reference point!”
“Y, yes sir!”
The bear answered solemnly while pointing to a direction.
“Over there, that fucker Neo's house has the reference point, sir!”
The Heinous Dark Bear and Cale’s group moved quickly.
Once they got past the fluffy cotton candy-like path and arrived at the end… There was a vast field that seemed to be made of origami paper. Neo's house was at the center of the field.
“Over here, sir!”
Once they arrived in front of the house…
The house seemed to be made of crackers.
Cale looked at the house that resembled the house from Hansel and Gretel and asked.
“There’s a guard?”
The bear answered him.
“It’s a boss, the Tarnished Former Hero, sir!”
Clang.
The tired looking knight pulled a sword out.
“Is it an enemy?”
There were shackles on the knight’s feet.
[Former Hero Gisk who turned after losing hope]
Cale read the name on top of the knight and asked.
"Former hero?”
‘I need to find a hero.’
But former hero Gisk shot forward before Cale could say anything.
Clang.
He swung his sword.
Clang!
And the one to block him-
“Who are you?”
Was someone who wasn’t a hero or anything.
He was simply…
“Choi Han.”
Choi Han, the man with no title and just his name.
