Chapter 1139 — Book 2: Chapter 336: Me? (7)
15 min read ·
The Heavenly Demon's life had truly been difficult.
He had experienced all sorts of things while he was young.
The Heavenly Demon.
He had to persist through numerous evil intentions and malice until the moment he grasped that position.
‘Yeah. I truly have experienced a lot of things in life.’
He had faced death numerous times.
Nonetheless-
‘This is a first.’
“Hahahaha!”
“Hehe!”
“Meeeeeow!”
“Meeow!”
‘My goodness.’
The Heavenly Demon was flabbergasted.
Kim Hae-il, no, Cale Henituse…
On, Hong, and Raon who follow him…
One young human, two Cats, and one Dragon were happily laughing away.
The four of them were seated in a circle with the map open in the middle.
“Human! I think this is a great place to start! Hehe!”
“Haha, yes! You truly are great and mighty!”
A guy laughing as if anything was fine.
Was this guy really Kim Hae-il?
Was this really the same Cale Henituse that saved this world and may become the worshipped figure of the new religion of the Five Colored Lights?
“Hehe. I am great and mighty! I will loot all of them without missing any!”
“How exciting, nya~! I borrowed a spatial pocket bag from grandpa Ron, nya~!”
“A chance like this is not common, nya. We need to pack everything and not miss a single thing, nya.”
Dragon. Was this really Raon, the young Dragon that had led those phenomenal Dragons with mana?
Was this really the young Cat that the Sichuan Tang matriarch called a phenomenal talent, someone with the potential to go behind the Poison King and become a Poison God?
On, the child who always calmly assessed every situation so that even the Heavenly Demon could not hide his admiration at the depth of her gaze…seeing that child acting like this-
‘Ah.
On, that child is calm right now too.
She is calmly saying that they should loot everything.’
“…….”
The Heavenly Demon quietly observed these four as they excitedly looked at the map and planned out a lair looting route.
They seemed so excited about something that was extremely minuscule compared to saving a world.
The four of them were all overly excited.
“Ha, haha-”
He started to laugh in disbelief.
Cale peeked at the Heavenly Demon.
Raon spoke to him using magic.
– Human, as expected, the Heavenly Demon is one of us.
‘I know, right?’
Cale agreed with Raon's statement.
It could not be helped.
– He’s more natural than Choi Han at this.
‘It does seem that way.’
The Heavenly Demon had put on the black outfit, but said it was annoying to cover his face and did not wear the mask.
He looked so natural as he laughed toward them.
He looked satisfied with something.
‘I guess that is expected of the Heavenly Demon?’
Cale thought about the wuxia novels he had read during his life as Kim Rok Soo.
One of the storylines that showed up in the majority of wuxia novels was looting an old treasury.
‘There has to be a reason an event like this basically always appears.’
Cale looked away from the Heavenly Demon, who resembled a bandit leader as he laughed.
He then spoke to the children averaging ten-years-old with a serious look on his face.
"We don't have much time.”
“That's right. We don’t.”
On agreed.
They needed to go to the Demon World soon.
“But the Aipotu continent is vast.”
“That’s right, nya! It is vast, nya! But our youngest just has to use his teleportation, nya!”
It truly was vast.
It was much larger than Nameless 1 and the Roan Kingdom.
But as Hong mentioned, Raon could use teleportation, especially now that the mana was stable.
“The number of lairs we need to loot are numerous as well.”
“…Human.”
Raon spoke seriously.
"We cannot miss a single one.”
“That is an amazing mindset.”
The children averaging ten-years-old were already fully prepared.
Cale was moving with these veterans.
“Let’s go.”
Ooooooo-
Raon solemnly cast a black teleportation magic circle.
Cale, On, and Hong stepped onto it.
“What are you doing?”
“…….”
The Heavenly Demon silently stood there for a moment then stepped onto the magic circle with a relaxed smile on his face.
He then asked a question.
"What is my role?”
“Preparing for any unexpected dangers.”
They had no idea what kind of dangerous mechanisms may be in the Dragon lairs.
Cale, Raon, On, and Hong would take care of most of them, but… They needed someone who would provide them with Choi Han's level of physical strength.
“I see.”
The Heavenly Demon smiled oddly before letting the magic circle take control of his body.
Paaaaat!
There was a bright flash and the ‘lair looting’ team started to move.
* * *
“The first lair is the home of the Dragon that used to be the fifth god.”
Cale pointed to a cave entrance deep in the forest as he spoke.
“Let’s destroy it.”
As soon as he said that…
Baaaaaaaaaang!
There was a loud explosion and the large stone gate at the cave entrance was destroyed. No, it was completely obliterated by Raon’s magic.
“I see no traps, nya!”
“I'll turn off all magic devices!”
“It looks like we can go, nya!”
Hong looked for all of the traps.
Raon searched for any magic spells.
The children averaging ten-years-old efficiently infiltrated the lair once On gave the all clear.
“We need to loot everything!”
"We can’t miss a single thing, nya!”
“Can’t get too excited, nya. Must remain calm, nya.”
The children averaging ten-years-old were professionals.
“How impressive.”
The Heavenly Demon praised the children’s professional demeanor as he looked to the side.
“…….”
Cale was standing there with an extremely odd look on his face.
‘What the hell?’
He was bewildered.
‘No, seriously, aren't they too pro at this?’
On, Hong, and Raon were operating extremely professionally compared to before.
The children took care of everything without Cale needing to say anything.
‘…They are even better than me?’
This was to be expected.
On and Hong had learned all sorts of the House of Molan’s skills through Ron.
Of course they were showing major skills in dealing with traps, stealth, and looting.
"I can see the magic devices very well! Hehe!”
As for Raon, he had grown while experiencing all sorts of things here in Aipotu.
It would be accurate to say that Raon had gone beyond the highest level when it came to magic.
Cale recalled a conversation he had with Raon in the past.
‘Human, I can freely handle mana now!’
His attribute, the ‘present’.
They had learned two things about it.
1. Raon is not affected by his surroundings and can exert his full power.
2. Mana follows Raon’s will.
These two traits were already enough to say that his attribute was amazing.
‘Mm… But human.’
However, Raon had seriously said something.
‘I don’t think this is my limit.’
Raon was saying that he could feel that this was not the limit of his attribute.
This feeling was probably the truth.
Raon’s full abilities had yet to be revealed.
But that was not important to Cale.
That was something they will eventually find out as Raon continues to grow.
The important thing was something else.
‘If you get another bloody nose… You know what will happen, right?’
Cale’s stern gaze made Raon warily peek at him before nodding his head.
‘I got it! I’ll use magic without getting a bloody nose from now on!’
‘Okay.’
Seeing Raon’s nose bleeding…
Cale did not want to see something like that ever again.
‘Yeah, like right now-’
‘Hehehehe—-!”
“Meeeeeeeeeeow!”
“There are treasures here, nya!”
Yes… Just like right now-
“Let’s pack them! Hehehe!”
"We can't miss a single one nya!”
“Grandpa Ron said he will sort everything for us if we bring it all, nya.”
“Mm.”
Cale thought to himself while seeing the children averaging ten-years-old working with such happy looks on their faces.
‘Is it okay for them to be like this?
No, it is true that it is nice to see the kids being this happy, but…’
“Time to head to the second one!”
‘Kids should laugh as they grow.’
“Now the third! Hehehehe—-!”
“This is more exciting than even eating poison, nya!”
"Calmly! Calmly!”
It was true that children should be happy as they lived, but…
"The fifth! Hehehe!”
"The eighth! Hehe!”
At the tenth lair…
“Hehehe!”
“Meeeeeow~~!”
“Meeow!”
‘…Is this okay?’
Cale just blankly followed behind the children who took care of everything.
"They are experts.”
“…….”
He could not say anything to what the Heavenly Demon commented.
“It won’t even be difficult if they loot all of the places like they have been doing.”
“…….”
The Heavenly Demon was right.
The children averaging ten-years-old were not making strenuous movements.
Raon used mana to sweep the treasures into a spatial pocket bag.
On and Hong focused on scoping out traps or secret areas.
– There's nothing for you to do.
The Super Rock was right.
They were doing a great job without any guidance.
– Sniff sniff.
– I don’t smell any divine items either.
The Sound of the Wind stated that she also had nothing to do.
Step step.
Cale approached Raon.
“You need help with anything?”
“Weak human, you get some rest!”
“…Okay.”
Step step.
Cale walked back to stand next to the Heavenly Demon again.
“Pfft.”
The Heavenly Demon chuckled next to him, but Cale pretended not to hear it.
– Kahahahaha! Our wealth is increasing! Kahahaha! Cale, you are now the God of Wealth, the God of Wealth!
He ignored the cheapskate's delighted and crazy laugh as well.
Instead, he started to speak with a serious look on his face.
“You heard everything about New World, right?”
“Yeah. I heard.”
“Are you interested?”
Cale looked toward the Heavenly Demon.
The Heavenly Demon was looking at Cale as well.
He smiled as he answered.
“Interest? Lots.”
Despite the calmness in his voice, Cale could see the fluctuating emotions in the Heavenly Demon's eyes and flinched.
He had looked a bit surprised when he came with them to loot the lairs, but what remained was boredom.
But now, anticipation was visible in the Heavenly Demon's eyes.
“Kim Hae-il.”
“What?”
“I am willing to go into New World and help you out with anything you need. I can be on your side.”
"But?”
Cale figured out that there was something the Heavenly Demon wanted to say.
“I have a condition.”
The Heavenly Demon would only do it with this condition being met.
Cale quietly observed the Heavenly Demon.
The Heavenly Demon started speaking after seeing Cale’s gaze.
“I want to fight.”
A subtle smile appeared on Cale’s face.
The Heavenly Demon saw this and continued to speak.
“The Demon Cult also wishes to fight. It is the same for the entire Martial Arts world.”
The Heavenly Demon.
As one of the pillars of the Martial Arts world, he had a certain point of view.
"We want to fight properly.”
Myself, the Demon Cult, everybody from the Martial Arts world…
We all want to fight properly.
From the Blood Cult to the Purple Bloods…
There had been existences who threatened the Central Plains and the martial artists.
The Triumvirate, who had always been fighting against each other as enemies, now had a greater enemy to fight together.
However, whether it was against the Blood Cult or the Purple Bloods…
There had been no chances for the martial artists to fight properly.
Martial artists.
Who were they?
They were fighters at heart.
Shaolin had the Buddhists, the Wudang Sect, the Mount Hua Sect, the Kong Tong sect and others who focused on the dao, but…
They were all fighters as well.
The Triumvirate.
Now that the situation was more peaceful than ever between the three factions and they were communicating positively…
Others may call this a time of peace, but the Heavenly Demon was certain about something.
‘This is not good.’
His strength had developed and developed some more.
There were so many things he had learned in order to fight… He had overcome so many trials to learn these things, but…
He had nobody to fight.
How was he supposed to release all of that energy and passion?
‘Finding other fights.’
This may be extremely selfish or even crazy, but…
The Heavenly Demon was certain.
‘I need somewhere to fight.’
The Martial Arts world, for its own stability, needed a place to fight.
Even if that meant they had to make enemies.
‘But there are already enemies to fight.’
New World.
A completely new world.
‘Even if this is me being selfish, I know that the fight there does not threaten the Martial Arts world at all.
Furthermore, our fight would have an excuse, no, there was justification for it as for justice.
‘As such, is there a reason to reject such a fight?
If anything, we welcome it.’
The Heavenly Demon started smiling.
Cale watched for a bit before nonchalantly commenting.
“Crazy bastards.”
‘Seriously.’
“This is why I cannot understand martial artists.”
Cale could not understand the thoughts of the martial artists.
‘Peacefully and relaxed.
How great would it be to eat yummy things and live a peaceful life?
Do they not know how valuable something like that is?’
“We know the value of peace.”
The Heavenly Demon calmly answered.
“Even we know the beauty that peace brings to people.”
Even the members of the Demon Cult who came with the Heavenly Demon were talking about the Five Colored Lights Cale had created, as well as the stability of the world, whenever they had a chance.
The value of that sight was something noble that could not be gained from fighting.
How would the Heavenly Demon not know about that?
He had walked a path of blood to rise to the position of Heavenly Demon.
He knew about the power of peace.
“But you see…”
The Central Plains had only one issue with it.
“This peace is not something we gained with our own strength.”
Buddhism and Taoism.
Why were people who sought out the good clenching their fists and raising their swords?
It was to develop their own goodness and achieve their inner dao.
The Orthodox faction also developed their strength to pursue justice.
The Unorthodox faction fought for their goals as well.
But they had not been able to achieve those goals with their own hands.
“If we were just people who cared about nothing else other than fighting, there would be no need to pay us any attention.
Those who only seek blood are not martial artists. They are the devils.
However, we need the recognition that we ourselves earned the peace.”
Only then would they feel a justification for the strength they had built up.
Kim Hae-il.
He was amazing.
Everything he had done was growing in fame as time went on, slowly turning into a legend.
But the people left behind felt uneasy.
Kim Hae-il did not give them an answer about the martial arts they had built up.
That answer was only meaningful if they earned it themselves.
"We need a battlefield to gain answers and understanding.”
Cale let out a sigh.
“No, seriously. Isn’t it great if you don’t get hurt and someone takes care of everything for you?”
He could not understand these damn martial artists at all.
"Well, I guess you all have your own lives.”
But he was not going to push them away.
They did not simply want to fight because they wanted to see blood or harm people.
If they wanted to fight to feel validated that they had done something…
And if such fighting was beneficial to Cale's side…
Cale mischievously asked the Heavenly Demon.
“Did you not get to fight properly in Aipotu?”
"Correct.”
The Heavenly Demon leisurely answered.
“Kim Hae-il. You and your friends did everything. How terrible of you.”
“Haha.”
Cale let out a short laugh before answering him.
“You will get what you wish for.”
A fight to earn some answers.
If that was what he wanted…
He could give them as much as they want.
“We first need to fight against six of the evils.
Six Evils were left of the Eight Evils.
"We will leave the ones who are not our enemies alone, but we have to ruthlessly take down any enemies.”
The Heavenly Demon looked up at the sky.
“Hehehe!”
“Meeow!”
“Meeeeeow!”
He watched as the children averaging ten-years-old even looted the decorations on the lights and opened his mouth.
“Evil you say…”
The Six Evils.
“How entertaining.”
Demon and Evil…
Which of the two would be the answer?
The Heavenly Demon was amused.
“How very interesting.”
Cale calmly looked into the anticipation visible in his eyes and continued to speak.
“Yeah. It will be very interesting. I'll deal with Central Plains to make a path for you guys to enter the New World from your world. Come in when it is time.”
If they could create a portal inside the Black Castle to head into New World…
A portal will be created in the Central Plains at the same time.
“…….”
“…….”
As Cale and the Heavenly Demon looked at each other and had odd smiles on their faces…
“Human, let’s go!”
Gulp.
Cale gulped.
– Why do I see Clopeh in Raon’s eyes?
He ignored the Super Rock.
– Kahahaha! Let’s go, let’s go!
He ignored the cheapskate as well.
“Uhh… Yeah, let's go……”
Cale slowly stepped onto the teleportation magic circle.
And that day…
“Mm.”
Cale, the children averaging ten-years-old, and the Heavenly Demon…
“We really looted them all?”
They looted the lairs of all of the Dragons who were not their allies.
“Human, we did good, right? We are great and mighty, right?”
“Meeeeeow!
I think we are amazing, nya.”
Cale petted the excited heads of the children averaging ten-years-old despite the blank stare in his eyes.
Twitch. Twitch.
The corners of his lips slowly started to twitch and rise.
– Kahahaha!
The cheapskate laughed all day.
As for the Heavenly Demon, he looked at Cale smiling as the corners of his lips twitched and commented.
“They are all the same.”
The children averaging ten-years-old and Cale were the same.
The four of them were all laughing with the corners of their lips twitching.
“How entertaining.”
Actually, the Heavenly Demon found more joy in watching this group than fighting.
* * *
"We finished the path to the Demon World.”
Deputy Chief Priest Cotton. She came to look for Cale with a haggard look on her face.
“Let’s go.”
Choi Jung Soo was smiling brightly while standing to her left.
Of course, Choi Han, who was on her right side, smiled innocently as well.
Unlike Cotton, the two Chois looked extremely fresh and almost glowed.
