The Demonic race.
The Demonic race Cale met in this place had all sorts of different looks.
Ones with horns…
Ones with pale grey skin like Count Ruiphe…
Ones with red eyes.
Ones with fur or tail and ears like the Beast people.
Peek.
Some even looked human like Cale.
– The Demonic race looks different than I imagined.
The Super Rock commented.
– If anything, Count Ruiphe looked like the typical image of the Demonic race, a noble of the Demon World.
Count Ruiphe did indeed have the appearance of the Demonic race Cale often read about in novels.
‘Well, but-
Maybe what I'm seeing right now is more normal?’
He didn’t know how big the Demon World was, but it was an entire world.
How large must it be?
What about its long history?
It made sense that the members of the Demonic race would have all sorts of different appearances.
‘However-’
They all had some common features.
The thing that let others feel that they were members of the Demonic race.
– Human.
Raon spoke seriously.
– The aura of the Demon World. It’s very odd!
Shhhhhhhh—–
This lush forest…
On top of the trees and the ground…
Only the sound of the wind brushing past the leaves and grass could be heard in the forest.
– It’s definitely mana, but a bit different!
Cale looked around.
Sssssssss— sss—
The people cutting through the wind and stealthily moving forward…
The movements of the members of the Demonic race were amazing.
– They definitely seem to be scouts.
As the Super Rock mentioned, they looked like experts in scouting as their nimble movements barely made any sounds.
– Human, the mana of the Demon World is all grey!
Aura is grey too!
It was as Raon had described.
Swoooooooosh-
The members of the Demonic race who had stepped forward to scout around…
Around half of them were using aura or mana and the colors were all grey.
Cale suddenly thought about the Chief Priest serving the White Star.
‘That bastard had said he was worshipping and used a grey power.’
‘Mm.
Why do I find grey so leery?’
– Human! But seeing this power keeps making me think about the God of Chaos!
Raon told him the answer.
‘Ah, he's right.’
The color grey, which symbolized the aura of the Demon World…
Seeing this made him think of the God of Chaos.
– The foundation is different.
The Super Rock was right.
– But it may be difficult to differentiate between members of the Demonic race and believers of the God of Chaos with just the color of their powers.
As the cheapskate spoke seriously, which was different from his usual self…
Cale started to think.
‘Doesn't it feel like it would be easy to pretend to be believers of the God of Chaos in the future if the members of the Demonic race are with us?
I think it would be great for scamming them.’
– ……!
– !!
The Super Rock and cheapskate were so surprised they could not speak.
– …Amazing……
The glutton priestess expressed her feelings of admiration for Cale.
However, just one person…
– Hehe.
The Dominating Aura gave an appropriate answer for Cale’s comment.
– You and I had similar thoughts! As expected, you have the qualifications to possess the Dominating Aura!
The Dominating Aura was the perfect power for scamming.
The imposing voice of the bluffer solemnly shared his thoughts.
– We are already in the process of absorbing the Saint of the God of Chaos's power!
The members of the Demonic race can pretend to be believers of the God of Chaos.
That was not the only potential.
– After the game updates, if we can properly absorb that power, we can even pretend to be the Saint of the God of Chaos with the members of the Demonic race by our side!
Cale might be able to pretend to be the Saint of the God of Chaos.
– Keke.
“Heh.”
Cale and the Dominating Aura…
The two of them could not hold back their laughter.
– H, human!
Raon shouted with anxiety.
– Human, who are you planning on smacking in the head from the back? That’s your total scam face! I'm suddenly feeling excited!
The anxious but excited Raon was ignored as Cale did his best to hold back his laughter.
‘Ah.
Seriously.
That’s such a fun thought.’
The thought that the Dominating Aura and he had come up with…
– It is. Keke. It is possible that the Saint of the God of Chaos might personally come to find us. Keke!
‘Exactly!’
Cale was amazed at the Dominating Aura's extraordinary thought process.
‘How can his thoughts basically be the same as mine?
It's been a while since I’ve liked this guy’s train of thought.’
– If we camouflage ourselves and pretend to be members of the Church of the God of Chaos or their believers, how can the real Saint not act after hearing about it? Keke!
‘It is only normal for him to want to figure out who the fake is. Hehe.’
– Yes. We just wait for that moment, and-
‘Take care of it at once.’
Cale couldn't hold back anymore.
“Heh.”
He let out another short laugh.
Ssssssssss-
His suppressed laughter was heard twice while they were stealthily moving.
Peek peek. The members of the Demonic race kept peeking at Cale.
Choi Han and Choi Jung Soo's crazed eyes calmed a bit as well.
“Hmpff.”
Cale was trying his best to hold back his laughter, but seeing Cale’s face ready to burst with laughter multiple times…
Choi Jung Soo's mind immediately returned to normal.
‘That’s Kim Rok Soo's look when he's about to cause an issue.
Has this guy already finished a plan to kill the Demon King?
Wait, I thought we were going just to scout! The current plan is not to destroy everything!’
Choi Jung Soo, who had gone a bit crazy because he had been worried about Choi Jung Gun, instantly snapped back to his senses as if someone had poured ice water all over him.
Seeing an odd feeling of tenseness appearing on Choi Jung Soo and Raon's faces made Aurora’s face stiffen.
‘Hmm?
What is going on?’
Cale Henituse.
What has he seen and determined that was making him hold back his laughter like this?
“Cale-nim.”
Choi Han walked over to Cale’s side at that moment.
He had already verified that their allies were the only ones nearby.
“What is it?”
Cale knew this as well and looked at Choi Han.
“Have you come up with a good plan?”
Gulp.
Choi Jung Soo gulped and the members of the Demonic race all tensed up as they listened.
Smile.
Raon flinched as Cale smiled.
– Human! I'm getting so excited seeing you smile like that!
Cale answered Choi Han’s question.
“Yeah. If things go well, we might be able to give the God of Chaos a good smack from the back.”
“Ah.”
Choi Han let out a short gasp and then smiled gently.
“!”
Aurora’s pupils started to shake.
It was the same for the scouts from the Arbitrators.
They were mainly in charge of scouting, but the fact that they resided in the headquarters meant that they were core members.
They were well-aware of their enemies; Cotton had told them that one of their enemies was the ancient god, the God of Chaos.
Gulp.
Aurora gulped.
“Phew.”
Choi Jung Soo was relieved.
‘Ah, okay then. He’s not causing an issue right away.’
Choi Jung Soo felt at peace. He calmly asked.
“How will you scam him?”
Cale never said that he was going to scam him, but Choi Jung Soo naturally believed it would be a scam.
Cale obviously answered as if it was not a big deal.
“That-”
He then looked toward Aurora.
“I think it will be possible if the Demonic race helps us out a lot.”
If the members of the Demonic race did a great job of acting, pretending to be believers of the God of Chaos…
The things that Cale had planned would progress smoothly.
‘Finding the Saint of the God of Chaos had been a major concern.’
He was going to have the Heinous Dark Bear, Count Ruiphe, and the AI look for the Saint of the God of Chaos, but… He knew it would not be easy.
‘Rather than difficulty, it was a matter of time.’
He presumed it would take a few months, but he had to take care of it as quickly as possible because of Choi Jung Gun's condition.
“We are going to have to flip over the Church of the God of Chaos.”
Cale said that leisurely before smiling at Aurora again.
The Arbitrators.
‘They are hiding all around the worlds so they should be good at acting, right?
Well, they at least have to be better than Choi Han no matter how bad they are.’
“You will help, right? I have faith.”
‘It’s not even that hard.’
Cale lightheartedly spoke as if he was joking.
The current situation did not make it possible to have a deep conversation.
“…….”
Gulp.
Aurora gulped.
‘He’s going to do something that will shake the entire Church of the God of Chaos?
He needs help from the Demonic race?
How big of a battle is he planning?
Haa.’
Aurora could not even start to fathom Cale’s plan, but… She nodded her head with a stiff expression on her face.
The Arbitrators had already all agreed.
“Yes sir. No matter what it is, as long as it is something to stop the people causing this chaos, we will definitely make it happen.”
“Very reliable.”
Cale was very satisfied.
But Aurora and the Arbitrators’ faces looked even more anxious.
However, Cale thought that the reason for that anxiety was something else.
– Human!
Raon shouted and Choi Han immediately moved in front of Cale.
Swoooooooosh-
The whirlwinds swirling around Cale’s ankles settled down.
– Enemies!
Ooooo—
A faint black mana created a shield around Cale. Cale didn’t say anything about it because he knew about the concern within that shield.
The end of the forest…
He saw a gentle cliff.
Beyond the cliff was a village in a basin.
It was a mountain village with hills and mountains all around with a river.
‘That’s quite a lot of them.’
He could see the Demon King's soldiers in the village.
– Human, they are all wearing similar outfits!
The Demon King's soldiers were all wearing beautiful black armor, or other black outfits. They each had a weird-looking horned human’s side view imprinted on their clothes by their heart.
Baaaaang!
They heard explosions.
– Human! Humans, no, the members of the Demonic race are being captured!
They couldn't hear much because they were far away, but they could see the soldiers capturing the villagers.
Some of them were crying.
Cale’s face slowly stiffened.
Aurora was looking at Raon at that moment.
‘As expected.’
Aurora was amazed.
‘As expected, this Dragon is able to freely use the mana of the Demon World.’
Furthermore, it was not grey but in his own color.
Aurora, who knew that this was no easy task and that it was impossible for some, decided that she needed to think deeper about Cale’s group as she stepped forward.
This was not the time for such thoughts.
“It doesn’t look like our headquarters were discovered.”
Everybody showed their agreement through silence.
They had stealthily moved because they thought the enemies may have entered the forest to find them, but…
The close to two hundred soldiers, which seemed quite extravagant…
They were only capturing the villagers.
Baaaaang!
Bang!
Explosions and flames were shooting up all around the village but nobody died.
They were all captured, regardless of age or gender.
In a place like this where outsiders rarely visited, in a place surrounded by the basin that it would be hard for anybody to tell what happened…
“I'm sure we are all thinking the same thing.”
Aurora’s face stiffened.
“The Demon King's soldiers are aiming for the villagers.”
A few villages had already disappeared so far.
The issue of the missing villagers, which had calmed down for a bit, was happening again.
“Boss!”
A scout carrying binoculars pointed at something.
He couldn't see the face, but someone was there.
"The Devil of Flames is over there!”
“!”
Aurora's eyes opened wide.
The Devil of Flames.
This was one of the top ten figures in the Demon King’s army.
He was one of the current Demon King's most loyal vassals, someone who was said to be willing to do anything and everything for the Demon King.
“…Oh no.”
He was also very strong.
Aurora’s face stiffened again.
“Then they must all be the Devil of Flames’ subordinates.”
These crazy bastards were called the Demon King's dogs.
They were here right now.
“Boss, what are we going to do?”
One of the Chiefs who came with the scouts asked.
Aurora answered without any hesitation.
“We have to go save them.”
The Chief spoke as if he expected this.
“I want to go save them right away as well. However, what would happen if the Devil of Flames or even one of his subordinates managed to escape?”
The size of the Demon King's Army that had entered this village…
There were almost two hundred of them.
They consisted of knights, mages, archers, and all sorts of highly skilled troops.
This group of soldiers, which seemed quite much for attacking a small rural village, was scorching the place.
If even one of them managed to escape…
“Our headquarters will be discovered.”
Aurora clenched her eyes shut.
They were already lacking so much but to move the headquarters again, to prepare a place… To erase their traces…
That would be extremely difficult and cumbersome.
Furthermore, it would delay their fight against the current Demon King.
However, Aurora's gaze was firm when she opened her eyes again.
“We still need to save them. Are we just going to leave them like this?”
Her voice was so cold no warmth could be felt in the mat all, but… That was why it was firm.
“Huuuuuu.”
The Chief let out a sigh and stepped back.
“That is correct. We can’t just let this happen.”
He motioned to the swiftest of the scouts.
“Go inform the others about the situation and bring backup.”
There were only around ten people here right now.
How could they fight against two hundred?
They had to do so while rescuing the villagers as well.
It would not be easy.
The Chief gave his orders without any hesitation as if he expected this decision from Aurora.
Aurora watched him and placed her hand on the hilt of her sword.
Baaaaaang!
Baaaaang!
They heard some more explosions.
Some more houses were destroyed and they could see villagers rushing out.
Their food storage was destroyed. The villagers were crying and shaking in fear.
Aurora slowly started speaking.
“He’s looking this way.”
The Devil of Flames.
At the center of the chaos…
The bastard who was leisurely seated on a bench in the middle of the village closed his book.
He then looked toward them.
They were far away.
They could not see each other’s faces.
However, they both noticed the appearance of the enemy.
It was time for Aurora to fight.
Clang.
She heard the sound of a sword being pulled out.
“!”
Aurora flinched.
She suddenly felt a violent aura behind her.
She urgently turned around.
Smile.
Choi Han was smiling innocently.
But he had his sword in his hand.
Harris Village existed next to the Forest of Darkness.
Arm had barged in and killed everyone.
Choi Han had only learned about it after returning to the village.
For someone like him, something like this was a trigger he could not ignore.
“Mm.”
Cale scratched his cheek and walked forward.
He then addressed Aurora.
“We first need to save the villagers. We also can’t have the Devil of Flames of whatever discover the identity of the Arbitrators. Are those two the most important issues right now?”
“…Y, yes?”
Aurora subconsciously stuttered as she answered.
Choi Han.
Choi Jung Soo.
Raon.
The group behind Cale looked angry.
“This makes me angry!”
The mana roared around Raon.
“Haha! My goodness, haha!”
Choi Jung Soo's gaze was vicious as he laughed with disbelief.
Nothing needed to be said about Choi Han.
Cale had these three behind him as he addressed Aurora.
“Then we will go first.”
His voice was gentle.
Cale pulled something out of his pocket as he gently spoke to her.
It was a spatial pocket bag.
He flipped the bag over.
Plop. Plop. Plop.
Some black things fell to the ground.
They were outfits.
Cale, who carried plenty of these outfits just in case, pointed at them as he spoke.
“Please put these on and slowly follow us. Assess the situation first.”
Cale gently waved his hand and then looked at Choi Han, who was already looking at him.
“Are we going?”
Cale gently answered.
“Yeah.”
Choi Han immediately kicked off the ground and off the cliff.
Choi Han was moving toward the village.
Swoooooooosh!
Black mana roared around him.
Raon was putting a gust of wind for Choi Han.
Choi Han rode the gust and arrived at his destination.
Boom!
A dull noise different from the explosions was heard.
At the center of the village…
Choi Han landed there and looked forward.
“Who are you?”
The Devil of Flames asked with his book in his hand and Choi Han answered.
Baaaaaang!
He answered with his sword that was releasing a violent black aura.
