Chapter 1158 — Book 2: Chapter 355: The amusement of the greatest of all evils (1)
13 min read ·
Let’s turn the three into two.
Ahn Roh Man shook Cale’s hand without any hesitation.
Transparent ©'s corruption…
The Eastern Empire’s Emperor Lienti…
After having revealed these two things, Ahn Roh Man’s answer was already decided.
“I'm guessing you have no intention of telling me how the Seventh Evil ended up as your backing?”
Ahn Roh Man asked with a gentle smile on his face. He didn’t think that Cale would answer this question.
The Eight Evils.
The players had not been able to figure out the secrets of even one of these Eight Evils.
But the Seventh Evil, the Time Hell, was Alberu’s backing?
“Mm.”
Seeing Cale think about it and not answer right away made Ahn Roh Man's smile become even bigger.
‘Yeah. I can’t trust you guys when you won’t reveal everything to me.
Just like you guys can’t trust me.
You guys are from another world after all.’
Both the monsters that attacked Earth as well as the people in front of him were from other worlds.
They were not Earthlings.
They did not share their fate.
“Oh boy, you are asking a very difficult question, sir.”
Cale did not hide the look of concern on his face.
“But Mr. President, since you have revealed that your backing is Emperor Lienti-”
Cale looked toward him.
"And your backing is the AI in the end.”
The existence that Ahn Roh Man's parents developed and is hiding in the game.
“That is correct. I told you an extremely major card of mien-”
“So we should let you know about one of our cards as well.”
“……!”
Cale and Ahn Roh Man made eye contact.
“Mr. Ahn Roh Man, you didn’t reveal everything either, so we will only reveal one major card as well. Isn’t that how a trade works?”
Give and receive.
That was the basic tenant of a deal.
“The New World System.”
“Excuse me?”
“The AI derived from that system. That existence is our backing.”
“What the!”
Ahn Roh Man could not hide his shock.
‘Total nonsense!’
It could not be helped.
“Unlike my parents, the Transparents are thoroughly keeping their eyes on the New World system!”
They had set up the mechanisms to do that.
“But an AI? There is no way they would not have detected such a large change!”
Smile.
The corners of Cale’s lips curled up.
‘Crap!’
Ahn Roh Man realized his mistake at that moment.
“Mm.”
He groaned as Cale gently asked.
“I had no idea that the Transparents were keeping such a thorough eye on the system. That seems like very important insider information. I wonder how you know that?”
“Huuuuu.”
Ahn Roh Man let out a sigh. But Cale continued to speak.
“The Transparents may have been thorough until now while running the game, but they did something the system could not accept, something that went against the rules. As such, the system felt that something was off and created an AI inside the game to protect New World.”
“…The Transparents have done something?”
“Yes sir. I think that they are doing too many things at once right now.”
“…That thorough and heartless place?”
Cale chuckled at that question.
“Yes sir. That thorough and heartless place might now be in a situation where they need to hurry.”
Cale had an idea about the reason behind it.
‘Us. As well as the World of the Gods.’
The God of Chaos has split the World of the Gods into two.
Cale had already hunted down three of the Hunter families.
Now all that was left were the Transparent Bloods and the Five Colors Bloods.
The Transparent Bloods needed to hurry.
‘The results of their hurried action seems to be the large-scale update.’
The Transparent Bloods probably did not do this update just to keep the game entertaining.
Their ultimate goal…
‘To create a new world.’
And beyond that…
‘Create an omnipotent god.’
This update should be an important next step into creating the omnipotent god.
Such certainty filled Cale's mind.
‘Because of that-
We need to mess that up.
We need to cause a ruckus and destroy it.
We need to shake it from the outside first in order to do that.’
Cale continued to speak.
"That AI is looking for your older brother.”
The Lienti Empire’s Emperor.
Ahn Roh Man's older brother who pretended to be an NPC and did not get found out for being the AI despite being in such a position.
“Once the update finishes, his highness and that AI will come to look for you. Could you please arrange a meeting?”
What would be the benefits of that meeting?
Cale’s words stabbed at Ahn Roh Man’s heart before he could even think.
"The New World system and your brother are all existences living in New World. We need to save them. The two AIs need to meet in order to do that.”
“……!”
The original AI created by Ahn Roh Man's parents and the AI created by the current system to save the world.
“Ha-”
Ahn Roh Man sighed.
“Alberu. And this lady right here. I thought that the two of them were quite difficult to handle. But I now understand why you are the leader for all of this.”
Cale had been calling the AI Ahn Roh Man’s brother since some time ago.
For Ahn Roh Man who lost his family and became alone, this was his one and only remaining family member, potentially the only one living with the same goals as him.
“Yes. We need to save my brother.”
Ahn Roh Man could not reject Cale’s offer.
– But human! The Seventh Evil being crown prince Alberu’s backing has nothing to do with the AI! You did that, didn’t you?
He just ignored Raon's comment.
‘I didn't reveal why the Seventh Evil is our backing. But at least I revealed the existence of the AI?’
Although he didn’t give Ahn Roh Man the answer he wanted… Cale had not lied.
‘At least one quest will be completed once the two AIs meet.’
Cale opened his mouth again.
There was something else that he wanted.
“And if you have some contacts within the Transparent Corporation, please introduce them to us.”
“Mm.”
Ahn Roh Man scowled.
‘This is why you have to be careful about what you say.’
He had accidentally given that up to them.
Cale pointed at Alberu and Rosalyn.
"The two of them will be active as users after the update and Miss Rosalyn will be supporting his highness in the K.Q. Of course, there will slowly be more reinforcements.”
“I'm guessing I will need to help Miss Rosalyn with her registration?”
"That is correct. That much cooperation should be a freebie, right?”
“I never said I wouldn’t. However-”
Ahn Roh Man's sharp gaze focused on Cale.
"What are you planning on doing?”
“I have no plans on registering as a user.”
Raon quickly responded to Cale's comments.
– Of course! Human, you are the greatest of all evils! A half Demon! One with the blood of the Divine race as well!
He just ignored Raon.
Anyway, he wasn’t lying to Ahn Roh Man right now.
He just didn't tell him everything.
‘You’re doing the same.’
Ahn Roh Man did not reveal all of his schemes.
They were both aware of the situation.
“Pfft.”
Ahn Roh Man chuckled.
Ahn Roh Man looked at Cale as if he understood all of Cale’s thoughts.
“I guess you plan on shaking the Transparents from the outside.”
“Mm.”
"That must be why you want me to tell you about someone inside the Transparent ©.”
It was at that moment.
Riiiiiiiing–
The phone on the desk started ringing.
“Please pick it up.”
Cale pointed at the phone and Ahn Roh Man stared at him before picking up.
"What is it?”
It was his aide, Mary.
– Mm.
She hesitated for a bit before speaking in an unconvinced voice.
– Someone has come from the Sun ©. She is in front of me right now.
“!”
– President Choi Sun Hee of Sun © says that she was calling to confirm that you are meeting her tonight. She says that she will send a car. Is this correct?
As his aide, she knew that this was not in his original schedule.
Both his official and unofficial schedules.
“…….”
Ahn Roh Man looked toward Cale.
Aurora received his gaze and answered.
“The Sun will be with me.”
Ahn Roh Man opened his mouth.
“9 pm. Tell them to send the car at that time.”
– …Yes sir.
Mary held back her questions and answered before Ahn Roh Man hung up.
He then looked at Cale.
“You are going to shake the Transparents with the Sun?”
He then started to smile. He could see the plan that Cale had prepared.
“Is that why you are asking me for the insider?”
Cale smiled instead of answering.
He heard Rosalyn's voice in his mind at that moment.
– Isn’t the insider for our portal?
Cale truly was surprised.
Her way of sending her voice to his mind did not seem lacking at all even compared to Raon.
Rosalyn had definitely gotten even more skilled.
“The Sun ©, one of the wealthiest corporations in Roan.”
Cale responded to Ahn Roh Man's mumbling.
“Mr. President, you’ve sort of been hated upon by companies lately, haven’t you?”
Roan had been attacked by monsters.
No matter how they defeated the monsters and survived, a lot of places around the country were destroyed and ruined.
Ahn Roh Man had offered ‘carrots’ in the future to companies once he became president, but not many volunteered to help with the restoration.
In the end, the sluggish situation forced Ahn Roh Man to point his blade at the conglomerates.
It resulted in the conglomerates needing to jump into the restoration in order to survive.
“That is correct. I am hated quite a bit by our rich Chairmen.”
They could not fight against the unwavering support Ahn Roh Man had called approval rating during his three terms as president.
However, no conglomerates were willing to bow their heads to him now that he was a setting sun.
In fact, they were the ones pointing their blades at him now.
They were doing so with the transcendent corporation, the Transcendent corporation, as their lead.
In such a situation, monetary support from the Sun © would allow Ahn Roh Man to breathe.
And they were stepping up to take down the Transparents?
“However-”
Ahn Roh Man shrugged his shoulders.
“The Chairmen are not the only ones to detest me. I am hated by quite a lot of places.”
He smiled and then answered Cale.
“I will inform President Choi Sun Hee about the insider when we meet.”
“Yes sir. But who is that insider?”
Ahn Roh Man answered without any hesitation.
“Lee Mi Jung.”
Cale immediately understood who it was by just the name.
It was clearly visible in the organizational chart of the Transparent © that Secretary Choi had gotten for him.
“The Vice President?”
The Vice President of Transparent © was siding with Ahn Roh Man instead of the Transparent Bloods?
The answer to that question quickly came out.
“She is the highest-ranking executive without the Han last name.”
‘Ah.’
Cale immediately figured out the situation.
“I guess the Han family basically took full control of the Transparent ©?”
“It was pretty bad.”
Despite many corporations now changing to fill their executive spots with experts in their respective fields, the Transparent Corporation's executives were mainly family members.
The reason was simple.
‘They need to fill it with hunters from the Transparent Bloods.’
Cale looked at Alberu and Rosalyn.
“The Transparent © seems to have a lot of holes we can poke.”
He heard Rosalyn's voice at that moment.
– Young master Cale.
Cale heard what she had to say and nodded his head.
“Mr. Ahn Roh Man?”
Rosalyn started speaking.
“I would like to make a request to Vice President Lee Mi Jung in advance.”
Cale quietly looked at her.
“A request?”
Vice President Lee Mi Jung did not know Cale's side at all yet.
But to already make a request?
Rosalyn calmly answered.
“Tell her to work with the Sun © to swallow the Transparent ©.”
“!”
“Or we can also create a company that is even greater than the Transparent ©.”
Ahn Roh Man answered with a look of shock on his face.
“…Do you think that is possible?”
‘No, does the Sun © have that much money?
More importantly, a company even greater than a transcendent corporation?
To take control of it?
Does she think something like that is so easy to do?
“Hoo hoo.”
Rosalyn laughed.
Earth.
As Rosalyn didn’t know much about this world, she had thoroughly looked through the documents that Secretary Choi had prepared for them. She looked at the information about the Transparent © even more thoroughly because they had to pull an insider out.
< Lee Mi Jung >
< A hardworking individual who started from the lowest ranking position to reach the position of Vice President in a short period of time. >
As the Vice President, there were a lot of files on Lee Mi Jung.
After reading up on her, Rosalyn had asked Secretary Choi for more files on her.
She needed to find an opening in the Transparent ©.
“Mr. Ahn Roh Man. Please tell Vice President Lee Mi Jung about it first.”
Maybe…
“She might not find it important whether my offer is possible or impossible.”
“What do you mea-”
"She-”
Rosalyn smiled as she commented.
“Will try to jump in if it is something she can do.”
‘See seemed as greedy as me.’
She thought about Lee Mi Jung's motto.
< Make my own thing! >
My own thing.
Rosalyn understood so well what Lee Mi Jung wanted.
Cale looked at Rosalyn and thought about what Rosalyn had just said to him.
– Young master Cale.
– Lee Mi Jung seems similar to myself. Will you leave it to me?
Cale easily trusted Rosalyn's decision as she was as thorough, if not even more thorough than Cale or Alberu.

That night, Ahn Roh Man and Lee Mi Jung visited a secret location that President Choi Sun Hee had prepared.
The three of them had a long late dinner.
Later that night…
"I knew that you would not be able to say no to such an offer and make a move right away.”
“…Did you say that your name is Rosalyn?”
Rosalyn had been waiting for Vice President Lee Mi Jung by herself on the top floor of the Sun Building.
She looked at the white hair on the now late-fifties Vice President Lee Mi Jung, then her face, and then her eyes.
Rosalyn smiled after seeing that the fires of passion were still burning fiercely in her eyes.
“That's right. I am Rosalyn. I am also someone who may be a big help to your dream.”
Words that may shake up Lee Mi Jung’s life came out of Rosalyn’s mouth at that moment.
“Isn’t it too small of a scale to just do business on Earth?”
“Excuse me?”
Lee Mi Jung seemed confused by those words but Rosalyn just continued to speak.
“Do you want to do some business across dimensions?”
Rosalyn extended her hand out.
This was the moment Lee Mi Jung’s life changed.

"The update finished.”
Cale checked the time and slowly went down the stairs.
Tap. Tap.
Raon, On, and Hong were by his side once he arrived at the bottom.
“Human, let’s hurry! We need to check if the teddy bear took good care of Eden Miru!”
“Meeeeeow!”
“Meeow!”
Cale slowly walked despite the children averaging ten-years-old urging him forward.
A tablet was in his hand.
A countdown was visible on the screen.
00:01:02
.
.
00:00:30
Now 30 seconds left.
00:00:10
.
.
.
00:00:01
Finally.
00:00:00
The moment the countdown ended…
Boom, boom-
There was a grand noise as the tablet screen changed.
< The great first step >
Raising my very own precious omnipotent god.
The first large-scale update had finished and a new chapter started at this moment.
