Chapter 1164 — Book 2: Chapter 361: The amusement of the greatest of all evils (7)

“Ah.”
She let go of the door handle and added on to Cale.
Bishop Serisa.
What kind of existence was she?
‘Great and mighty.’
Such an assessment suited her.
She was wearing a simple priestess robe yet still looked neat.
< She was born from wandering musician parents and had lost them at an early age, but... She worked little jobs at a music store where she knew the owner and used the money to help the children who had no place to go. >
< A bishop of the Sun God was amazed after hearing her answer and offered her his hand. Serisa started as a probationary priestess and rose up to the position of bishop. >
Serisa was in between being middle-aged and old.
But her face had more wrinkles and freckles than normal for her age.
However, the aura she possessed made you feel refreshed for some reason.
Her gentle vibe that made her look as if she was smiling even when she wasn’t, reminded people of the sunlight.
< She showed no political maneuvering during her rise to the position of bishop. The amount of divine power she was born with is lacking, but she has her own power to surpass it. Knowledge of the Sun God as well as many other divine arts. The determination to volunteer at least three times a week no matter her position level. Not hesitating to reach out her hand to anybody, whether they were believers or not. All of this is how she rose to the position of bishop with the unanimous support of all of the believes of the Church of the Sun God and the Breeze Empire. >
Maybe they felt that way because of the life she had experienced.
‘But she is a believer of the God of Chaos?’
Quite a few of the students around Serisa looked to be believers of the Sun God, but there were also many who respected her life and her knowledge.
"What can I do for you?”
Serisa addressed the student who called out to her but did not say anything.
Even her voice was gentle.
“It is an honor to meet you like this, bishop-nim.”
Cale could feel the students looking at him.
Even the Academy professors could not figure out who Cale was.
‘I'm curious.’
What would happen if he shook her hand in such a situation?
[Shake hands with the believer of chaos (Serisa)!]
Cale was curious.
It was at that moment.
– Human, it’s that Holy Knight!
He could feel Choi Han flinching behind him.
“Bishop-nim.”
“Oh. Sir Boltien.”
Highest-ranking Holy Knight, Sir Boltien, the man who had stood in front of Choi Han, On, and Hong.
He suddenly appeared in the classroom.
There had been some Holy Knights in this room from the beginning.
“My goodness! It’s Sir Boltien!”
“I wonder why he is here?”
“Jackpot!”
The voices of the students who had not left despite the end of the speech grew louder.
Cale heard someone's comment.
“I wonder if he is here because of the attack a few days ago?”
The mysterious organization that attacked the Temple of the Sun God.
There were only rumors about the attack going around because the Church of the Sun God had not given an official response.
“I am here to escort you back, Bishop-nim.”
Serisa smiled once Sir Boltien calmly said that.
“Oh dear. You really don’t need to worry about an old lady like me.”
She was not that old for a bishop but Serisa called herself old.
“Sir Boltien. Could you please wait a bit?”
“Mm.”
Serisa looked toward the children surrounding her.
Boltien saw her flawlessly benevolent gaze and nodded his head.
“Yes, ma’am.”
He then stood one step behind Serisa.
– Human, is a handshake possible?
‘Of course.’
Cale was not scared of Sir Boltien.
He had Raon and Choi Han with him.
‘And-’
Serisa looked back at Cale.
She did not forget about a single student. She looked as if she wanted to make eye contact with and chat with each and every one of them.
It was amazing.
Very amazing.
“Bishop-nim.”
Cale's blonde hair shined.
His blue eyes curled into a smile.
“May I ask for a handshake?”
Sir Boltien flinched.
‘Chaos.’
His senses were on high alert because of the evildoers mentioning chaos who attacked the Temple of the Sun God.
This was the bishop's first external event after the incident, which was why Sir Boltien made the time to come guard her.
For a student to ask for a handshake at such a time…
‘I need to stop it.’
He had such a thought but he didn't dare to step in front of Serisa.
“I wish to leave a small memory behind of meeting someone I've respected for a long time.”
The student was speaking gently.
For some reason, he felt like this was a good person.
Boltien.
The reason he was able to rise to the position of highest-ranking High-ranking position, the reason he was able to get so strong, was because of his special ‘instinct.’
For some odd reason, he was very accurate when it came to good and evil.
‘Mmm.'
That was why he found the incident a few days ago to be odd.
‘…I didn't feel any evil.’
Unlike the special formation at the temple that reacted that evil had arrived, his instincts had not activated at all.
Sir Boltien thought the situation was even scarier because of that.
“Sir Boltien.”
He made eye contact with bishop Serisa.
“It's okay.”
The student looked at Boltien and cautiously lowered his head.
‘He has no weapons.
And he doesn't look like he's learned magic.
Mm.
The air around him is stable as well.’
‘……?’
He suddenly got a weird feeling.
Boltien made eye contact with a male student.
It was a red-haired young man.
The student avoided Boltien's gaze but Boltien did not miss the eyes that had been observing him.
‘There is no evil in them.’
But his gaze had no evil within it.
He just felt wariness toward him.
‘What is going on?’
Boltien questioned it, but…
"Thank you for a wonderful speech.”
“I am the one who is thankful that you listened to all of it. I hope it was a meaningful time.”
The blonde-haired student and bishop Serisa shook hands.
The student extended his hand and Serisa shook it.
Cale stared at her hand.
– It's shaking.
He ignored the cheapskate.
Instead, Cale thought about his skill.
[Skill: Fear of Chaos (Deactivated)]
If you follow the path to use this power, you should be able to meet the Saint.
He should at least gain the power to save Choi Jung Gun.
That was his biggest goal right now.
“It was an honor, Bishop-nim.”
Cale and Serisa's hands touched each other.
Others would have thought this was a beautiful sight.
“!”
However, Cale's eyes opened wide.
[Sub quest completed!]
A half-transparent window appeared following that message.
But the window-
‘It's red?’
The window was red.
Piiiiiii-!
A short but intense alarm echoed only in Cale's ears.
The next quest popped up immediately.
[Confirm the appearance of the Holy Land in the memory of this believer of the God of Chaos!]
‘What?’
[*Skill will temporarily be activated to proceed with the quest!]
‘Huh?
…The Fear of Chaos will be temporarily activated?’
[*Skill Preview!]
‘Seriously.
Is this going to give me a glimpse of the skill or something?
But hold on, how can you do that right now?
Fuck!’
Cale got chills down his back.
Instant.
Cale could feel it despite it only being a few seconds. This system window had popped up in the short duration of their handshake.
‘This is bad.’
But he could not give up on the quest like this.
Because it told him to see the appearance of the Holy Land.
‘But did it say the appearance of the Holy Land in the memory of this believer of the God of Chaos?
How do I see that?’
Cale didn't need to question it.
[‘Skill: Fear of Chaos (Legend)’ is being used.]
[*Although it is an AOE skill, it will only be used on ‘Serisa’ this time for the progression of the quest.]
After saying that…
“Ugh!”
Bishop Serisa let out a weird groan and started to shake.
Ooooooooong-
A grey aura started rising out of her body.
– Human! Why are you suddenly creating a shitshow?
Yes. This was creating a shitshow.
“Bishop-nim!”
As Sir Boltien charged toward the bishop in shock…
Clang!
Choi Han stopped him.
"Shit!”
Boltien saw the small dagger that stopped the sword he had urgently pulled out.
Choi Han was blocking Sir Boltien's greatsword with a tiny dagger.
“Aaaaaah!”
"B, Bishop-nim!”
“Holy shit!”
What he saw next made Boltien even forget to attack.
As the students screamed…
Plop.
Bishop Serisa knelt down.
“Ah-”
She then gasped in joy.
The grey smoke surrounding her…
“Oh Chaos-!”
Her face was clearly full of delight.
Her whole body was shaking in fear but her face had the brightest smile she could make.
"B, Bishop-nim?”
Boltien became anxious.
Cale became anxious as well.
“AH, this fear, this dominance, this sense of helplessness……!”
Serisa remained kneeling on the floor as she grabbed Cale’s hand with both hands. She then started to cry.
She was crying in delight.
“Oh Chaos……!”
She was looking at the grey aura around Cale.
As for Cale, he was blankly reading the newly opened skill description window.
[If the Fear of Chaos is used on a believer of the God of Chaos, there is a low chance (30%) of the opponent being deluded and dominated.]
[The rate will change based on the mastery level of the skill.]
[Current skill mastery level: F (However, it will temporarily be fluctuated to A for the progression of the quest)]
‘Wow.’
[Look into the opponent's eyes after putting them in a state of fear to read a portion of their memories.]
Cale subconsciously looked into Serisa’s eyes.
The two of them looked at each other.
[Reading her memories.]
[*As this is only a preview, you will only see memories related to the quest.]
‘…It sure is emphasizing that this is a preview.’
As Cale had that thought…
It was only for an instant.
It really had not even been a few seconds.
“Ugh!”
Cale's whole body shook as if he had been struck by lightning.
His already pale face turned completely white.
– Human!
“Ca, no, f, friend!”
Choi Han walked over to Cale in shock.
The surrounding area became even more of a shitshow.
It could not be helped.
The moment Cale fell backwards…
“Chaos will create a new world……!”
Serisa looked up at the sky and stood up.
The grey aura surrounding her became even stronger.
On the other hand-
“Ugh!”
Cale was shaking and his complexion became worse.
Flap, flap.
Serisa’s baggy priestess robe wildly fluttered.
The aura surrounding her became even stronger.
“!”
The power was strong enough to give Boltien the chills.
He was looking at the student's hand that she was still holding.
‘W, wait this-’
At first, he thought something happened to the bishop because of the student.
However-
‘Isn't he going to die like this?’
The male student looked as if he was losing his life force to Serisa.
The way his eyes were closed, his face turned white, and his body was shaking…
He had looked feeble to start, but now it looked like something terrible might happen.
Clang!
It was at that moment.
"Shit!”
The student who had blocked him, Choi Han, swung his dagger.
He retreated as he did that.
Boltien swung his sword while seeing the man heading toward his friend.
Tang.
Choi Han threw the dagger at Boltien.
He used that moment to head toward Cale and Serisa who was holding him…
‘But I don’t have a sword!’
Choi Han had to swing a sword but left the sword at the inn because he was wearing a school uniform.
But it did not mean that he had no sword.
He put his hand into the spatial pocket bag in his pocket.
He had another sword, beside the sword from Cale that he always had, in this bag.
But he was not the owner of this word.
Choi Han still swung it as this was an emergency.
Slash!
Choi Han swung his sword toward Bishop Serisa.
“Ugh!”
Instead of Serisa’s hand getting sliced, her clothes were sliced off.
But it allowed for her and Cale’s hands to get separated.
“My friend!”
Choi Han supported Cale in shock.
– Human, human! I'm going to stop being invisible. Should I teleport us away?
Raon was extremely flustered.
“I, it’s oka-”
Those were the only words Cale mentioned.
A memory came flowing into his mind.
A message window also popped up.
[A believer completely dominated by the Fear of Chaos will move according to their final goal or mission.]
‘What the?
Fuck.
What the hell is going on?’
Cale didn't even have the strength to argue as he was shaken by the memories flowing in.
“Bishop-nim!”
Boltien approached bishop Serisa for now.
He was worried about the student as well, but the bishop was first.
The bishop suddenly staggered.
"Shit!”
Boltien became shocked and reached his hand out to support her.
But he suddenly stopped.
“!”
The moment he touched the grey…
‘Evil.’
That was the first thought he had.
The staggering bishop stood up straight and looked at Boltien.
“Kehehe!”
He made eye contact with the monstrously laughing bishop.
Her eyes were grey.
They had originally been green.
The eyes that resembled fresh leaves, those gentle eyes, had changed.
Bishop Serisa then waved her hand.
“!”
To be more accurate, she gathered the grey aura to turn it into a sword and swung it.
She swung toward Boltien's heart.
Baaaaang!
There was a sudden explosion.
Boltien barely managed to block the attack.
He got chills down his back.
Bishop Serisa.
Forget sword arts, she was someone who had not learned any martial arts.
But the Serisa in front of him had attacked Boltien extremely skillfully.
‘Who is she?
Who is this woman in front of me?’
He couldn’t help but wonder.
At that moment…
“I'm definitely, going to kill you!”
Serisa's body changed.
Grey veins turned red on her skin and her whole body started to turn grey.
Plop plop.
She also grew in size.
Her mission was to make sure that the Church of the Sun God did not get in the way of the Church of the God of Chaos.
Sir Boltien.
The highest-ranking Holy Knight was a fitting target to get rid of for that mission.
“Mm.”
Boltien subconsciously groaned.
He then almost growled.
“She’s clearly evil.”
Bishop Serisa, in her current appearance…
His whole body, the instincts given to him as a Holy Knight were telling him that this opponent was evil.
And beyond her shoulders…
“…….”
Boltien made eye contact with the student who was holding his friend and warily looking at him.
“Huuuuuu.”
Boltien sighed and turned his back toward the student.
There were more students that way and they were rushing to the back door to run away.
“!”
Choi Han's eyes opened wide.
Boltien looked like he was standing there to fight against Serisa to give the students some time to run away, but…
He was showing his back toward them as if he was trying to save Cale and Choi Han.
‘What is going on?’
Choi Han questioned it but this action was an obvious choice for Boltien.
“I do not know who you are. I also question your friend’s identity.”
Choi Han looked at Boltien’s wide back as Boltien stood there to block Serisa.
He clearly did not recognize Choi Han as one of the villains who came to attack the temple the other day.
Boltien’s voice reached Choi Han.
“However, I suppose I should protect you since the will of the sun has reached you.”
‘Ah.’
Choi Han looked at the sword he had taken out.
The Sun Sword.
Choi Han was holding onto it for now until he could hand it over to Alberu.
This was the reason Boltien chose to protect Choi Han and Cale.
