Chapter 1190 — Book 2: Chapter 387: The Birth of Evil (4)

However, Cale couldn’t just stay there laughing.
“Ugh!”
Count Ruiphe’s painful groans became even louder.
Cale urgently looked toward him while helping him up.
“Are you okay?”
“Ugh, oh greatest of all evils-”
Ruiphe clutched Cale's clothes.
The moment Cale looked into his chaotic eyes, he could see Ruiphe’s gaze change for a moment.
“T, the Demonic race-”
‘What?’
As Cale moved his ear closer to hear better…
“It is not just the Demonic race……!”
After that…
“Ruiphe!”
“Count-nim!”
Count Ruiphe fainted.
[*He will remain unconscious until his memories are recovered.]
Cale scowled after seeing the new sentence on the screen.
"Why did something like this-”
“He will be like this until he recovers his memories.”
“Excuse me?”
Cale explained the quest to the anxious Aurora.
“Ah-”
Aurora, who was not familiar with the game system yet, did not understand right away, but she did comprehend the important point.
“This…seems like you received an extremely important mission?”
“That is correct.”
The Transparent ©.
A big weapon to shake that place from outside the game…
The Demon King of Sloth.
And a path to gain an extremely important card to take him down.
“…However-”
The look on Aurora’s face changed.
It became more serious than before.
“Count Ruiphe-nim just said that it is not just the Demonic race, right? That-”
Cale calmly finished the sentence for Aurora who could not do so.
“That should mean that there are others in addition to the Demonic race that were victims to those experiments.”
Count Ruiphe clearly seemed to be in pain as the memories between his real life and the game life meshed together in his mind.
He must have recalled a small portion of his memories and tried to inform Cale.
The fact that he called Cale greatest of all evils should mean that it was the Ghost of Darkness that was trying to inform his boss about information that might be beneficial to Cale.
“Mm.”
Cale could see the concern on Aurora's face growing.
“First.”
She heard Cale’s voice and then looked confused after looking at him.
“Shouldn't we first move Count Ruiphe?”
“Yes?”
As Aurora responded to Cale…
“…….”
And as Cale oddly looked at her…
“Ah!”
Aurora figured out the answer.
The answer came from Cale's feeble-looking complexion.
“Where should I move him?”
“Please follow me.”
Aurora easily picked up Count Ruiphe and Cale led the way.
It was a great distribution of tasks and, at the end of the task, they were able to place Count Ruiphe on a bed before sitting in chairs with a table in between to chat.
“I think the Demon King of Sloth is looking for Arm.”
‘Oh.’
Cale's face lit up after hearing Aurora's thought.
The Demon World.
Cale had planted a bomb known as the God of Chaos’s secret force, Arm, when he was there.
For that to lead to the Demon King being interested in Arm…
“It should be easier to cause a rift between the God of Chaos and the Demon King now.”
“Hoo hoo. That is true.”
“Hahaha!”
Aurora and Cale both started laughing with extremely similar expressions on their faces.
“…….”
Count Ruiphe just laid there unconscious.
Cale peeked at him before the smile disappeared from his face.
“How is Choi Jung Gun?”
Choi Jung Gun.
The wanderer who was Choi Han and Choi Jung Soo's ancestor.
His body was currently covered in grey from the pollution of chaos.
He did not have much time left.
“He remains the same.”
Aurora’s face stiffened as well.
But it wasn’t necessarily bad.
Choi Jung Gun was currently inside a magic circle that slowed the progression of the pollution while protecting him.
Even as a single-lifer, he would die within a week if he left the magic circle.
"That’s at least a relief.”
Cale looked up for a moment to organize his thoughts.
‘The things I have to do right now-’
1. Eden Miru's ‘Birth of Evil.’
2. Heading to the Holy Land of the God of Chaos, the Night of the Beginning.
‘Undo the seal on the Fear of Chaos skill once I'm at the Holy Land.’
Finding the Saint or someone who uses a similar power as that bastard to figure out a way to purify Choi Jung Gun.
‘Also steal a divine item from the Holy Land to help our Blue Wolf recover.’
The god of the Beast people, the Blue Wolf. He planned on stealing a divine item for him as well.
Basically, Cale-
‘Destroy it.’
He planned on not just destroying the God of Chaos’ holy land in the Devil’s Boundary but completely scorching it.
That would significantly damage the God of Chaos’ side in RPOG.
‘How many benefits is that?’
He could gain more than four benefits from doing one thing.
‘But I also have another thing to do.’
3. Recovering Count Ruiphe's memories.
He had at least three things to gain from this as well.
‘Harm the Transparent ©, the Demon King, and gain the wealthiest person in the Demon World, Count Ruiphe.’
The benefits Cale might gain in Earth 3 might be especially amazing.
“…Will I be able to… Swallow up an entire transcendent corporation?”
Aurora looked confused as she heard Cale mumble.
The only one who could react to Cale right now was-
– Huff, huff!
– Hey fire! What’s wrong with you?
– Huff, huff, a transcendent corporation…would be just as transcendently rich…! A bundle of gold! A transcendently large bundle of gold…! Huff huff!
It was only the Fire of Destruction.
However, that cheapskate had received such strong mental damage from this thought that it was difficult for him to contain himself.
“Heh-”
Cale just quietly chuckled by himself.
“Mm.”
Aurora groaned but Cale did not pay it any attention.
‘And-’
Instead, he thought about what he needed to do next.
To be more specific, it was his overall goal.
‘In the end, all of these things lead to one thing.’
The omnipotent god.
Stop the god who is to be born inside this game.
And take down the Hunters.
‘Then there will be no more dangers.’
In Nameless 1 where Cale lives…
The source of trouble threatening that place would disappear.
‘And I can return to the Roan Kingdom, get some rest, and attempt to create an orchard when I have time.
Mm.
What a brilliant plan.’
“Definitely…….”
“Excuse me?”
As Aurora reacted to his quiet mumbling again…
Smile.
Cale smiled and gently answered.
“I will definitely achieve my goal.”
“Ah-”
Aurora smiled awkwardly and nodded her head.
‘…Is he planning on destroying something?’
She saw the wicked smile on Cale's face and thought that she saw a bit into a secret room she should not open.
She did her best to avoid Cale's face.
Cale continued to smile at her and thought to himself.
‘Yeah. Let’s not care about anything after that.’
The God of Chaos, the Divine World, the Demon World, or the World of the Gods…
None of those were Cale’s business.
Cale didn't care whether they fought or whatever.
All Cale wanted was for his home and the people around him to be safe.
“Mm. What do you plan on doing from here?”
Cale looked toward the door after hearing Aurora cautiously asking.
“I will have to leave for a bit.”
Earth 3.
He needed to return there for the first time in a long while.
[Recovery rate 96.91% (Remaining time: 3 days 20 hours 7 minutes)]
[Birth Ceremony Progression 50%]
[Reward rank undetermined]
He needed to effectively use the little bit of time he had left before the birth of Eden Miru.
At that moment…
“But is it okay for Count Ruiphe-nim to be absent like this?”
‘Hmm?’
“Is it okay for people to learn about his condition?”
Cale quietly looked down at Count Ruiphe after hearing Aurora’s question.
This guy’s physique-
* * *
“So you are asking me to wear a mask and pretend to be this guy?”
“Yeah. I'll take care of everything before Eden Miru is born, so it won't be for long.”
Cale confidently asked.
“I'll leave the end of the tutorial to a different boss in the Third Evil for now. I'm just asking you to go pretend to be Ruiphe and deal with anything that may potentially pop up in the Third Evil. It won’t be hard at all. Just pretend you are getting some rest. Our teddy bear said he will take care of all the cumbersome details.”
Of course, a detailed explanation had followed. The Heavenly Demon chuckled.
"Asking me to wear a mask, pretend to be someone else-”
The way he was mumbling made it seem as if he wasn’t happy about it.
‘Mm.’
Cale looked confident but was getting a bit scared inside.
“Sure. I'll do it.”
However, the Heavenly Demon accepted it easier than Cale had expected.
Cale thought the Heavenly Demon was the best person for him to ask.
‘He's the most free right now.’
The Heavenly Demon asked in a low voice at that moment.
"But are you really planning on taking over all Eight Evils?”
“Mm. Not necessarily take over but I do plan on making them all cooperate together?”
The Heavenly Demon slightly smiled at Cale saying basically the same thing.
He, who seemed to have more emotions than before, informed Cale about something.
“I plan on turning one of the Eight Evils into a branch of the Demon Cult. I'll leave your Third Evil and Seventh Evil alone though.”
“Huh?”
“You just needed to be aware.”
The Heavenly Demon then turned around and left.
Cale blankly stood there before quietly mumbling.
“…Nice?”
‘A branch of the Demon Cult means someone on my side.’
Cale had no reason to say no to the Heavenly Demon saying he would do something like this.
Cale shouted excitedly toward the disappearing Heavenly Demon.
“The First Evil has connections to the wanderers! Choose any of the other ones!”
The Heavenly Demon raised his hand.
Seeing him look so cool made Cale send some words of encouragement.
"Good luck! It doesn't have to be one. You can take two, no, you can take them all if you want!”
The Heavenly Demon's hand went down.
For some reason, the Heavenly Demon's back looked as if he was annoyed.
Cale didn’t care and called for Alberu and Rosalyn.
* * *
Cale turned the tablet on and buried his body into the couch.
“You are going to visit the home of Honorary Chairman Han Taek Soo's secretary?”
CEO Choi Sun Hee gulped.
“To be more accurate, it is the Chief of Staff.
The Honorary Chairman of Transparent ©, Han Taek Soo.
He had tons of secretaries.
Cale was aiming for the Chief of Staff, Han Taek Soo’s close confidant.
Chief of Staff Kang Geun Mok, who had been serving the chairman for fifty years.
“He’s not a Hunter?”
“Correct. He is from Earth 3.”
Surprisingly Kang Geun Mok was not a Hunter.
“Hoooo.”
Honorary Chairman Han Taek Soo might not even be human.
The corners of Cale’s lips curled up.
“I need to have a chat with Kang Geun Mok.”
“He is known for his loyalty. Do you think he would tell you the passcode into the lab?”
Choi Sun Hee cautiously asked and Cale smiled.
“I'll have to go to find out?”
Gulp.
Choi Sun Hee subconsciously gulped.
“…You are not planning on abducting the Chief of Staff, are you?”
Cale’s gaze changed at that moment.
"Abduct?! We do not do things like that!”
Cale's denial seemed extremely excessive.
“…….”
“…….”
Alberu and Rosalyn just smiled and continued to read about Chief of Staff Kang Geun Mok on their tablets.
It was at that moment.
The four of them were on the top floor of the Sun Building.
“Breaking news!”
The TV that was on was reporting some breaking news.
Cale, who had heard about it in advance and had left the TV on for this reason, peeked toward the announcer on the TV.
The announcer proclaimed in a clear voice.
“The first Chairman of the Transparent ©, Honorary Chairman Han Taek Soo, has officially announced his entry into the next presidential election!”
It was something the majority of the country already knew, but an official announcement was different.
“We will now turn it over to Honorary Chairman Han Taek Soo's press conference!”
The announcer finished and as the TV screen was about to change to the press conference…
Cale and the others all looked toward the TV.
Han Taek Soo.
They were curious about what he would say, as well as the face of the Chief of Staff who should be nearby.
“Ah!”
The announcer let out an anxious gasp, which was not normal.
The TV screen did not turn to the press conference.
"B, breaking news!”
The announcer stuttered for a moment before speaking in a calm voice despite being unable to hide the shock on her face.
“President Ahn Roh Man's Chief Aide, Mary-”
The announcer was unable to continue for a moment before clenching her eyes shut and continuing.
“She has been named as the primary suspect of a murder!”
Three-term President, and hero of the country, Ahn Roh Man.
Mary, a talented ability user who has been his ally through everything…
She was suddenly named as the primary suspect for a murder case.
“…What the hell-”
Alberu opened his mouth.
“Would be the normal response, but I think the Transparent © did something?”
“Of course. It’s obvious.”
Rosalyn calmly responded.
“Numerous remains were found at a closed elementary site! They are remains of weird shapes and Chief Aide Mary is suspected to be behind them!”
Rosalyn continued to speak as the announcer continued.
“Ahn Roh Man's side was investigating dirt on the Transparent © as well as human experimentation, right? It feels like the Chief Aide is being scapegoated while looking into it.”
“It should be something similar to that.”
Alberu agreed.
“It should put Ahn Roh Man in a pretty difficult situation to have his Chief Aide in such a mess.”
He seriously addressed Cale.
“Let’s get Kang Geun Mok first.”
Cale was still looking at the TV.
"We will immediately report any updates as we get them. We will now connect over to the press conference to hear from Honorary Chairman Han Taek Soo!”
The announcer spoke in a calmer voice and Honorary Chairman Han Taek Soo appeared on the screen.
“My fellow Roanians-”
Han Taek Soo looked to be in his seventies.
Cale looked past him to the person slightly visible at the edge of the screen.
Han Taek Soo had everybody's attention. The only person standing behind him and also visible on the TV…
Someone Han Taek Soo cherished too much and always kept by his side to be a mere Chief of Staff…
Chief of Staff Kang Geun Mok.
Cale focused on the stubborn-looking man who resembled a dry old tree.
“Let’s move.”
* * *
The night of the new moon where even the moon was not visible…
A night where people could not easily fall asleep because of the talks of Han Taek Soo and Ahn Roh Man…
Beep.
Kang Geun Mok stopped by home for a moment and unlocked the door.
The house that was protected by all sorts of spells was basically safe enough to be called a fortress.
He took one step inside.
“!”
However, he stopped without taking another step.
He looked at the dark living room and opened his mouth.
“Who's there?”
It was at that moment.
“!”
He flinched and tried to turn his head.
But before he could do that-
“What took you so long?”
He heard someone's voice next to him.
“I thought I wouldn't get to see you today.”
A mischievous voice reached Kang Geun Mok's ears and he felt a hand grabbing his neck.
“Let's chat.”
Cale was grabbing him by the neck despite saying let’s chat.
