Chapter 1189 — Book 2: Chapter 386: The Birth of Evil (3)

There were still a lot of places in New World that regular users have not been able to inspect thoroughly.
The most difficult areas of that were-
< The Eight Evils. Those are places we should not go yet. Even the top ranker cannot go there. >
Nobody objected to that comment.
Of those Eight Evils, the boss of the Third Evil, The Ghost of Darkness, Ruiphe…
He came here a bit early to meet with Aurora and elegantly bowed.
“It has been a while, oh greatest of all evils-”
Cale flinched.
‘Is it really okay to leave it like this?’
The title of the greatest of all evils…
Was it really okay to continue like this?
“Yeah. It’s been a while.”
He at least responded to the greeting.
Smile.
Ruiphe had an elegant smile befitting a noble as he slowly commented.
“I heard the rumors lately, my lord.”
“Hmm? What rumors?”
“That the Demon King is adventing to the Seventh Evil.”
Cale flinched.
Clack.
Eden Miru clacked from Cale’s side.
“…….”
Cale just silently stood there.
He didn't know what to say.
Ruiphe had a profound look on his face as he looked at the egg in the flower-patterned swaddle.
“As expected, this sir is the one who will become the Demon King.”
Clack.
“Hooooo. Even his movements are energetic.”
C, claaaaaaaaack.
“Haha! That attitude is definitely fitting the new evil of the Seventh Evil, the Demon King!”
He nodded his head but cautiously asked Cale with a slightly stiff look on his face.
“The rest of the Eight Evils, other than our Third and Seventh Evils, are focused on the Seventh Evil right now.”
Cale knew this as well.
‘The Birth of Evil.’
Clopeh Sekka had been doing all sorts of things for the past three days for this event.
It made sense that the news would spread.
“Since the Seventh Evil has the concept of a fairy tale, the birth of a Demon King… Everybody thinks that the scenario is very fitting for this location.”
‘Mm.’
it was true that a fitting final boss for a fairy tale world was a Demon King.
“However, the precursors for the birth are increasing in scale, so everybody in the Eight Evils is curious to see how strong this Demon King will be.”
‘Mm.
Clopeh is good at getting things done.’
"Based on what I have heard, even the kingdoms outside the Eight Evils are keeping extremely alert. The birth of the Demon King would be a threat to them all.”
‘Mm.’
Cale just quietly listened.
Ruiphe's expression turned even more profound.
“Oh greatest of all evils-”
Then Ruiphe’s voice got lower.
Cale looked toward him.
It felt like he was about to say something serious.
“To even have a Demon King as your subordinate-”
‘Hmm?
Hold on.’
"The day you rule over all Eight Evils…”
‘This bastard looks like he's about to spew some nonsense.’
Cale tried to open his mouth to say something but Ruiphe did not stop.
“The evil among all evils. The greatest of all evils. The highest position of all evils-”
His eyes were sparkling.
What would be the highest position for those who followed the evil-
The answer was obvious.
"God.”
Cale's eyes opened wide.
Clack!
The egg was shocked as well.
Ruiphe's smile turned even more wicked.
He spoke with certainty.
"Wouldn’t you become the Demon God?”
Demon God.
Yes.
The way he took control of the Third and Seventh Evils and was aiming for the rest of the Eight Evils…
Furthermore, seeing him trying to have an ally of his be born as the Demon King…
The way he tried to fight against a god as he was doing with the God of Chaos…
Creating the Kingdom of Darkness in the Eight Evils to extend his influence in all of New World…
And his powers that seem impossible for a human to possess-
As well as not fearing a war against the ones trying to create the omnipotent god!
The final ending of all these things!
The greatest of all evils!
The Demon God!
The name of the one who stands at the apex of all evils!
“Kehehe-”
Ruiphe subconsciously let out a frivolous laugh.
“You, you-”
Cale was at a loss for words and could not say anything.
He thought to himself.
‘Is this bastard crazy?
The Demon God?
‘What nonsense is this?’
Cale's eyes were shaking and his annoyance toward Count Ruiphe shot up.
“Ahem.”
Count Ruiphe quickly snapped back to his senses.
He turned back into the respectful and elegant noble.
“I'll be quiet, my lord.”
He understood what Cale wanted to say.
‘He’s probably like this because he is surprised I figured out the big picture so quickly.’
The person trying to save New World and rise to the position of the apex of all evil…
He should not look so deep inside such a person's heart.
It was a subordinate’s duty to sometimes feign ignorance.
Count Ruiphe just decided to silently do his duties.
“I will not mention this again, my lord.”
“Mm. Okay.”
Cale felt relieved after hearing that from Count Ruiphe.
‘He must know he was speaking nonsense.’
He thought that Count Ruiphe really was easier to talk to than the Dark Bear.
It was fitting a mutant who realized something about the system and the game.
Count Ruiphe calmly continued to talk to the now relieved Cale.
“I will do my best to support you, my lord. We are always keeping an eye on the movements of the other six evils, so I will let you know through the Dark Bear if we notice any changes.”
Nod nod.
Both Count Ruiphe and the Dark Bear were very good at their work.
This was why Cale could leave things here to them and proceed with the quest to find the Holy Land of the God of Chaos.
He should be able to head to the Devil’s Boundary, where the Night of the Beginning is, once Eden Miru is born.
“Ah.”
Count Ruiphe seemed to have thought of something at that moment.
“Do you know about the boss of the Fifth Evil, my lord?”
“Isn’t that the Fire Hell? Is the boss called Flames?” (TL: Korean has Hwa In, which was the name of the Alliance leader of the Cooperative Alliance, aka So Hee's alias, but I think Hwa In here is talking about a ‘fire person’ so I'm just calling him Flames.)
The Third Evil, the Hell of Darkness.
The Seventh Evil, the Time Hell…
The Fifth Evil, the Fire Hell…
“Yes, my lord. Do you know his title?”
‘Mm.’
Cale thought about the files and groaned.
Ruiphe watched him and started to speak.
“The deposed crown prince. His story is that he was supposed to become the Demon King, but he lost the battle and was banished from the Demon World. He arrived at the Fifth Evil and ended up as the Demon of Fire.”
Cale looked down at the egg.
“And that bastard is extremely fixated on the term Demon King.”
Pat pat.
He casually patted the egg.
Ruiphe’s words reached his ear.
“It would be best to keep that in mind, my lord. Flames might try to do something when the baby boss of our Seventh Evil is born.”
Clack.
Eden Miru suddenly moved intensely.
Ruiphe started smiling.
“Haha! You don’t have to worry, Baby boss. We are buddies who will support the greatest of all evils. I will do my best to help with your birth.”
Clack, clack!
Eden Miru became even more intense.
Cale understood the meaning behind Eden Miru's movements.
“…Baby Boss……”
‘Pffft.’
Cale barely held himself back from laughing.
…C…laa…ckkkkkkkkk……
Eden Miru looked despondent.
It was at that moment.
“Human! Aurora says she’s coming over!”
Raon ran over to deliver the news.
The Arbitrators.
The representative of that group was finally entering the game.
“Take care of him for a bit.”
Cale handed Raon the egg. The children averaging ten-years-old will take good care of Eden Miru.
[Recovery rate 96.91% (Remaining time: 3 days 21 hours 49 minutes)]
[Birth Ceremony Progression 50%]
[Reward rank undetermined]
Cale headed toward Aurora while the progression rate was at 50%.
“Let’s go.”
Count Ruiphe’s face was a bit stiff as he slowly followed behind Cale.
This was to be expected.
He was potentially about to get new information about his past.
* * *
Step step.
Cale walked down the hallway full of cotton candy decorations as he listened to Count Ruiphe's footsteps behind him.
‘Aurora will come here from Aipotu.’
The Demon King of Sloth.
That bastard suddenly starting to become active made Aurora and the Arbitrators be cautious with their activities.
But she must have had some openings now as Aurora said she would come here alone.
The former Demon King’s only descendant…
Count Ruiphe was extremely important to Aurora and the first name on the list of ‘members of the Demonic race who have disappeared.’
In addition to supporting Aurora and the Arbitrators…
‘He was the wealthiest person in the Demon World despite only being a Count. Considering only his wealth, it was greater than the Dukes and even the Archdukes.’
He was the true master of the greatest merchant guild in the Demon World.
‘He said that Count Ruiphe had a secret safe.’
…A secret safe.
The proof of his ownership of the merchant guild should be within it.
That was something the Demon King's side had yet to find.
‘If Ruiphe can regain his memories as Count, Aurora would be able to gain two things in relation to her fight against the Demon King.’
First, she would get a sturdy sponsor with significant wealth.
And second… This was more important.
‘Justification.’
The current Demon King was cooperating with the Hunters to experiment on members of the Demonic race and kill them.
Even if the Demon King was a great and mighty existence to the members of the Demonic race, this would cause significant revolt.
‘And it is beneficial to us too.’
Leaving out the fact that Count Ruiphe was Cale’s subordinate…
‘It’s proof.’
The Transcendent corporation was a transcendent corporation on Earth 3.
It would be proof that the Transparent Corporation was experimenting on members of the Demonic race and humans.
‘Not considering Ahn Roh Man continuing as president-’
It should be of significant help to take down the Honorary Chairman of the Transparent © and patriarch of the Transparent Bloods, Han Taek Soo, as well as the Transparent © itself.
Earth 3.
Cale was quite familiar with the ways of Earth.
‘If things go well-’
Prosecution, politics, the media, and the general public…
They might be able to make it so that none of them could remain on the Transparent ©'s side.
‘Honorary Chairman Han Taek Soo. And the Transparent ©.’
It would not be bad to make them see their ends in ‘Earth’s style.’
Since Cale dealt with stuff in the Central Plains in the Central Plains’ method and Aipotu in Aipotu's method-
Shouldn't he use Earth’s methods on Earth?
Smile.
The corners of Cale’s lips curled up.
‘Mm!’
Ruiphe looked at Cale's back and felt an unexplainable sense of ominousness.
“…Should be very fun……”
Cale's mumbling made Count Ruiphe subconsciously stop.
He felt like he was looking at an extremely large darkness.
“What is it?”
Ruiphe snapped back to his senses after Cale looked back with an expression that was the same as usual.
“I, it’s nothing, my lord.”
“Okay.”
Cale started to walk again without saying much and Ruiphe followed behind him.
The two of them walked for a few minutes like that without saying much and finally arrived at their destination.
It was the border or connecting point between Aipotu and New World.
Cale stared at the basement of the former Dragon Lord Neo.
“Ah.”
He could see Aurora walking past that passage and into the Cotton Candy Castle's hallway.
Cale raised his hand.
“It’s been a long time.”
The middle-aged woman with golden eyes walked over to him.
He wanted to hear about news of the Demon World as well as Choi Jung Gun from her.
That might be why he felt a bit happy to see her.
“!”
However, Aurora stopped walking.
“Ah-”
She gasped.
Her hands were slightly shaking.
‘Oh.’
Cale got the answer immediately.
“C, Count-nim-”
Cale slowly turned around after hearing Aurora's shaking voice.
‘So it is him!
Our Count Ruiphe is the real Count Ruiphe!’
– He’s rich!
‘As the cheapskate is saying, our subordinate is the richest in the Demon World!
And he has his own merchant guild!’
A smile subconsciously formed on Cale's face.
“!”
However, he became flustered.
– Cale! Our angel! Our angel!
The cheapskate suddenly started shouting.
“Ugh!”
Count Ruiphe let out a groan.
Cale quickly went over to support him.
“Ruiphe?”
“Ugggh, ugh!”
Count Ruiphe clutched his head with both hands and seemed to lose control of his body.
Anybody would think-
– Cale! Our rich angel seems like he is regaining his memories!
Yes. The cheapskate seemed right about Count Ruiphe starting to recover his memories as a member of the Demonic race after seeing Aurora! Was this truly a mighty cliché like that?!
“Count-nim!”
Aurora became shocked and quickly approached as well.
Ruiphe struggled to raise his head to look at her, and then-
“Ugh!”
He was in even more pain.
He could not say anything and his body started shaking.
But he slowly extended one hand.
His hand moved toward Aurora.
“Ah-”
Aurora gasped.
“Count-nim-”
She could see the shaking Ruiphe's eyes.
His eyes were bloodshot.
They were full of chaos but she could see another emotion rising up within them.
That was-
“…You remember, right?”
It was a sense of feeling wronged and angry.
A deep grudge appeared and disappeared from Ruiphe's eyes and repeated the process.
It felt like The Ghost of Darkness, Ruiphe, and Count Ruiphe, were moving back and forth.
“Ah-”
Aurora started to tear up.
Count Ruiphe looked younger than what she remembered.
But she was certain that this was Ruiphe.
‘It’s true-’
So it was true that the Demon King imprisoned his fellow members of the Demonic race in this game?
He really killed them and experimented on them?
How-
“How could he do that-”
Intense wrath could be felt in Aurora's voice.
There was a big difference between having a theory and seeing it verified.
“Ha-”
Someone scoffed at that moment.
Cale Henituse.
Aurora remembered that he was here as well.
Aurora helped support Ruiphe as well and looked at Cale.
"Commander-nim-”
She then flinched.
Cale was not looking at Ruiphe.
He was sighing while looking up into the air.
“…Huh?”
The look on Cale's face-
It seemed a bit-
‘He seems angry?
But at the same time-
He seems a bit amused?
What is going on?’
As that question formed on Aurora's face…
[A sub quest has been triggered!]
Cale was looking at the message window in the air.
[This is a special event where the reward will be based on the rate of completion!]
[Essential reward: Count Ruiphe's lost memories]
The game system.
This bastard was giving Cale another quest.
Cale realized that this system was an extremely amazing yet crazy bastard after seeing the contents of the quest.
And, despite having not seen the AI, One, for a while, Cale could be certain that this system that oversees the entire New World was at least, for now, their ally.
[Sub quest : Let’s steal the special research report from the Transparent ©'s secret lab!]
The game system.
This bastard was openly requesting Cale to do things outside the game as well.
[- Honorary Chairman Han Taek Soo's secretary knows the passcode into the secret lab.]
[- The secret lab is currently camouflaged with a magic device.]
The system was suggesting that Cale should leave the game and loot the Transparent ©’s secret lab on Earth 3.
“Haha-”
Cale let out a refreshing laugh.
