Chapter 1131 — Book 2: Chapter 328: What cannot be understood (8)
14 min read ·
Aipotu’s 200 years.
It had been about 200 years since the cataclysmic period.
There were not many who survived through that period of time.
"Finally-”
Wiesha, the large White Snake, was one of the few who survived through that time.
She, as well as some other Beast people who made it through that entire period of time, all showed their emotions.
A Bird person flew high into the sky.
Swoooooooosh-
The Bird person flew high into the sky and all of Aipotu’s sky and earth that he saw with his eyes were covered by the beautiful light.
Sniff. Sniff.
A Mole person dug into the ground.
He then sniffed around.
The smell of dirt that he had not been able to smell since the cataclysmic period was back.
“Ah.”
‘This is earth.’
He could smell the scent of the free earth, one that was full of life and without any sort of shackles.
It was not just the ground and the sky.
The five-colored radiant light even spread deep underground.
“Ha.
Holy shit.”
One of the Dragons who survived subconsciously gasped and then got annoyed with himself for doing so.
‘The mana-’
The mana was alive and breathing.
The mana that had been repressed by Dragon Lord Neo, the mana that had been dancing on the top of the Dragons’ palms, was freely spreading out throughout the entire world.
It felt as if he could hear the melody of the mana.
“Ha!”
All he could do was laugh.
“Fuck.”
Neo was dead.
The Dragons had lost.
‘No.
I lost.’
He lost but he had no choice but to accept it.
The fact that he lived a long time made it even more so that he accepted it.
“… How marvelous.”
The foundation of this world that he had consumed…
That thing was such a beautiful and marvelous existence?
The world he expected to be destroyed was quickly returning to its original spot.
That was how persistent life could be.
Yes, it was tenacious.
‘Is that the reason they won?’
The young Dragon that controlled mana…
The human who created this marvelous sight…
The sight that their allies helped to create as well.
There were outsiders and residents of Aipotu in that group.
“…Dragons are not gods.”
Yes. Dragons are not gods.
We cannot become gods.
It was at that moment.
“Do you think a god would be able to create a sight like this?”
The Dragon raised his head.
He could see another Dragon look at him and snort.
It was Rasheel.
Rasheel detested these Dragons who, despite everything they had done, were talking about how marvelous this was as they lamented the fact that they could not become gods.
Rasheel made it very clear.
“Not a god. That punk.”
He pointed at Cale.
Then he pointed at himself.
“It was our group with that punk. We made this happen. You are just a petty little fucker of a Dragon who threw away his pride.”
‘God my ass.’
“What the fuck did a god do here? Nothing. Why the fuck are you bringing up the motherfucking gods?”
Rasheel grumbled.
He was extremely annoyed. He chose to completely ignore the Dragon blankly looking at him and moved toward Mila.
Mila, who had been trying her best to save Cale, was still completely pale.
No, she turned even paler while standing next to Eruhaben.
“Stop.”
Mila scowled once Eruhaben said that.
Rasheel walked up to her with the same stick look on his face.
“…….”
The enemy Dragon, who had still been watching Rasheel, raised his head to look at Cale floating in the air.
“I…what… Did I do?”
There was nobody to answer his question.
Everybody was lost in this phenomenal sight. They were certain that they would never see something like this again in their lives.
Among them, the humans…
The humans from both the enemies and allies alike could not say anything.
“…….”
The Haru Kingdom.
They had been an Empire before turning into a falling small kingdom after the cataclysmic period.
Their young King Denis could not say anything.
His eyes were stolen by Cale and the radiant light.
His ears could not hear the sounds nearby properly.
However-
“Haaaaaaaaaa-”
He took a big breath in and out.
That was an obvious action.
He needed to breathe to live.
This was an action Dennis had been doing since he was born.
However, something was different.
He had no idea what the world was like 200 years ago before the cataclysmic period.
None of the humans here had lived for over 200 years.
The Beast people, Dragons, Dwarves, Elves, Dark Elves, etc….
Everybody other than the humans could compare the differences because they had members who had lived for over 200 years, but…
There were no humans who had lived for so long, at least not here with them.
Such a comparison wasn’t in King Dennis's mind either.
“Haaaaaaaaaa-”
Nonetheless, his instincts were telling him that things were different now.
He continued to take breaths in and out.
‘It feels free.’
It wasn't that breathing had been burdensome or strained before.
But the only thought in his mind was that it felt free right now.
It allowed King Dennis to realize something out of sheer instinct.
‘…This is real.’
Dennis looked around.
Aipotu.
The world truly looked proper.
He was neither a sword master nor a mage, but he could still feel that his surroundings had changed.
Approximately 200 years.
He thought it was a long time to regain the things that had been lost, but…
“…….”
‘We can regain it.’
Dennis subconsciously clenched his fists.
“Huh?”
However, his eyes opened wide and he subconsciously curled up.
Swooooooosh-
The wind was blowing.
“Shit-”
Eruhaben could see the aura that had been moving past Cale and spreading out in all directions starting to decrease.
“Cale-. You, what the hell are you doing-”
The five-colored radiant light was now gathering around Cale.
Cale was laying inside the large orb as if he was sleeping.
He was far away floating in the air, but the ancient Dragon could still see clearly.
‘All of his injuries have healed.’
All of the external physical injuries had disappeared.
Only the blood splatters remained.
Cale's body showed no signs of injuries.
It was at that moment.
Boom-!
The orb surrounding Cale started to thump.
It felt like a heartbeat.
“……!”
Eruhaben subconsciously flinched.
‘…I got scared?’
He got chills all over his body.
A large wave of aura had spread out the moment the orb thumped.
What was that aura?
Dragon.
Foundation of this world.
Nature.
God.
It was none of those.
‘Life.’
It was just the living Cale’s aura.
The aura was so immense it made the surroundings shake.
‘Ha.
No.
I of all people should not be saying this, but…’
“…A human can be like this……?”
No.
‘A human is able to possess such a strong and large life force?
No.
I can’t remain stuck in this mindset that there are limits to humans or Dragons or whatever.
But still!
He’s not a god.
He is not nature.
He is not a world.
So how could he, with just a human body-’
“Ha-”
Yes.
Eruhaben had found the answer.
An entire world, all of nature, these were large things.
Numerous plants and animals lived within them.
‘Then you could say the reverse.’
The wildflowers on the plains are the world, they are nature.
Humans are the same.
Dragons are also the same.
Anybody could be the world or nature.
The fact that we are all part of it means that we ourselves are that existence.
‘Cale Henituse.’
A world existed inside this punk.
There was an entire array of nature within him.
This was the reason Cale had been told that he has the qualifications to be a god, that he could create his own world.
But did that mean this punk was not human?
Would that turn him into a god and no longer Cale Henituse?
‘He would remain the same.’
Cale Henituse will always be Cale Henituse.
At that moment…
Boom!
There was another large thump.
Ssss–
A gentle breeze passed by.
The five-colored radiant orb was disappearing.
The ash-colored clouds were disappearing as well.
Warm sunlight started to shine down from the gaps.
Eruhaben heard Raon's voice.
“As expected of our human!”
“Ha.”
Eruhaben laughed.
‘Maybe I had not been looking at Cale Henituse properly until now.
A human can be like this?
He can do something like this when he is not a god?
Raon had given the answer to those questions Eruhaben had thought about earlier.
As expected of our human.
Eruhaben questioned his questions.
‘Why not?’
Who cares if he is human, who cares if he is Cale Henituse.
Why did it matter?
It's just how it is.
‘I'm learning.’
He was learning things again.
‘Yeah.
Even as I get older, I continue to learn new things.
Eruhaben lowered his head.
The black soul surrounded by gold and black shields that he was carefully holding…
The Dragon half-blood.
He had learned a lot of things from this bastard as well.
The fact that you could protect someone by breaking your own soul.
‘I thought about dying before them but I had never thought about doing something like that.’
He truly had learned something big.
“Human!”
Eruhaben urgently raised his head after hearing Raon’s shocked voice.
"Shit!”
The floating Cale was weakly starting to fall.
“That, that-”
“Human, no!”
“Fuck, did he faint?!”
Eruhaben, Raon, and Rasheel.
The moment the three Dragons urgently used mana to cast spells at Cale…
“Ahhh!”
Cale's eyes jolted open.
"Fuck, what the hell is this?!”
He was shocked at his state, and…
Swooooooosh-
He created a gust to alight ever so slowly.
“Wow, that surprised me.”
He then pulled an apple pie out of his spatial pocket bag and started to eat with a completely calm look on his face.
“…….”
“…….”
Eruhaben and Rasheel became silent.
“As expected of our human! But my apple pies are tastier!”
Raon was about to fly to Cale when he stopped.
“!”
Eruhaben as well.
“Cale-nim-”
“Kim Hae-il-”
Choi Han, the Heavenly Demon, and the rest of their allies who had been walking toward Cale were surprised as well.
“Fuck.”
Cale shoved the apple pie in his mouth and scowled.
– I'm hungry.
He ignored the glutton priestess.
No, he wanted to ignore it.
– Cale. You, you-
But the Super Rock commented as well.
– You, your plate isn’t the issue now, you-
He wanted to ignore that as well.
He couldn't hear it.
He could look at his condition later.
Swish!
Cale moved his head around as if he was looking for something.
The extremely annoyed Cale’s eyes stopped at Eruhaben.
Cale pulled the divine item mirror out of his pocket.
“Mm.”
Eruhaben couldn’t say anything to Cale who used a gust of wind to instantly arrive in front of him.
Raon's face, which had lit up while saying our human, still looked anxious.
Pat. Pat.
On and Hong were already patting Raon’s back. If they were not doing that, Raon, On, Hong, all of them would not have been able to hide their shaking.
Honestly speaking… All three were smiling at Cale but they were shaking.
Woooooooooooooooo–
While their allies were cheering and even the enemies were gasping in astonishment at the revived world…
None of Cale’s people could enjoy this moment.
They were just happy and relieved that Cale was revived.
“How is he?”
Mila barely managed to answer Cale’s question with a pale face in her completely fatigued state.
“I'm sorry.”
She looked past Cale’s shoulder to Sheritt, who could not come out past a certain distance from the Black Castle, and clenched her eyes closed.
“…Even I cannot connect together a soul.”
The small black soul.
It looked as if it might disappear into smoke at any moment because a portion was broken.
Cale then asked Eruhaben.
“Is he okay inside this shield?”
“To be fully honest, this guy right now-”
Eruhaben answered with a stiff look on his face.
“He is tightly bound by Raon and my mana that he cannot escape.”
A broken soul.
Even the ancient Dragon did not know how to fix that.
“What did Sheritt-nim say?”
They could chat with magic despite her distance.
Sheritt seemed to be blanking out a bit.
He was certain she would have tried to save the Dragon half-blood as well.
“Is there no way to bind him to the Black Castle?”
Just like Lord Sheritt…
In the Black Castle…
Or maybe to a Bone Dragon…
Wouldn’t it be okay if they bound him to something?
“Not possible.”
Eruhaben delivered Sheritt's answer.
"Sheritt-nim is neither a soul nor a living existence. She is an existence that was just born with the Black Castle. We cannot embed a broken soul into it.”
He hesitated before sharing Sheritt's thoughts.
“If we were to bind the Dragon half-blood to the Black Castle, she said he would no longer be living, just like her. However, this punk’s soul is still alive.”
“Then we need to first think about a way to save him.”
Cale looked over at Mary.
Mary shook her head.
Cale saw this and then stared into the mirror.
“You heard all of that?”
He asked the God of Death.
He presided over death, so wouldn’t he know the answer?
Ooooooooong-
The mirror vibrated.
– I'm sorry.
The God of Death chose not to mess around.
He just quickly shared what he knew.
– I am only a god over the death of a body.
– As for a soul breaking…
There was a bit of hesitation before the message continued.
– A soul breaking means ceasing to exist.
– Even I can’t save him.
– There is no way to put a broken soul back together.
– Even if you tightly bind it with mana, the soul has no choice but to scatter once the mana eventually disappears.
-And even if it is bound by mana like that, it will slowly start to break inside it.
Eruhaben looked at Cale’s stiff face and opened his mouth.
“…What did the God of Death say?”
“He says that even he cannot put a broken soul back together.”
Everybody was saying that they did not have an answer.
Fidget.
Raon's fidgeting front paws were shaking.
A suffocating silence followed.
Raon could not even notice this silence.
Raon was experiencing, for the first time in his life, what it meant to be at a loss for words and to not be able to hear anything around him.
Well, Raon did not even recognize that and was just fidgeting his front paws.
“Raon.”
It made him not hear Cale’s voice.
“Raon!”
Cale’s voice was louder than usual.
“Huh, huh? H, human?”
Raon raised his head in shock and finally saw Cale’s face.
Raon’s heart thumped once he looked into Cale's eyes.
‘Not yet.’
Our human has not given up yet.
“No.
That-
That’s the face he has when he sees the answer!’
Ooooooooong-
The divine item was continuing to vibrate as messages in Korean piled up.
– If there is a place that the laws of a world cannot reach and the soul does not scatter… Then that soul should be able to maintain itself to some degree without it breaking anymore.
– If something like that is possible, I will go see if there is a way.
– Whether it is the God of Fate or someone else… I'll go see them all and definitely come back with a method.
Cale spoke clearly to Raon.
“Prepare to teleport.”
“Huh?”
Raon blankly asked back before seeing Cale grab the shield orb from Eruhaben’s hand and talking to the shaking black soul inside it.
“Hey. Don’t you dare even think about dying.”
The black soul. The Dragon half-blood could not speak right now.
Actually, Cale had no way of knowing if his voice could even reach this guy right now.
But Cale still talked to him.
“I am definitely going to save you.”
Cale had no thoughts about seeing any of his people die anymore.
He would try anything and everything.
Cale looked toward Raon and explained.
“Neo.”
“Huh?”
“Let’s teleport to Neo's lair.”
The dead Dragon Lord Neo.
That bastard’s lair…
There was another world inside the basement of that small wooden cabin.
It was a different world made with new laws.
Virtual Reality.
If it was the new world the Hunter bastards were trying to create, the laws of the numerous worlds Cale was traversing through would not reach it.
It was a completely new place.
And…
‘User registration.
If we do that, his soul shouldn't scatter.
Yeah. That should work.’
It was just a hypothesis, but Cale thought it seemed reasonable.
The possibility seemed pretty high.
Virtual Reality.
That was a place where Cale, Choi Han, Raon, On, and Hong could all exist as themselves.
Ooooooo—
Raon immediately created a teleportation magic circle.
“Let’s go.”
Cale didn't think about taking care of anything else and immediately headed toward Neo's lair.
Virtual Reality.
That was where he was headed.
