Chapter 1135 — Book 2: Chapter 332: Me? (3)
16 min read ·
Alberu Crossman was aware that what he was doing right now in the Roan Kingdom as crown prince was very important.
He also knew that what he was doing inside RPOG was very important as well.
The World.
The enemies threatening Nameless 1, the world where the Roan Kingdom existed within, were the Hunters.
He could not even imagine the impact the actions in this Virtual Reality Game, which was connected to the Hunters, would have in the future.
Going beyond a world to a dimension…
This other world was something that went even beyond the realm of a dimension and was connected to the omnipotent god.
– Yeah.
He was focused.
– Yes, calmly-
Yes, he tried to be calm, but…
– Wait!
Something had come up.
– What the hell are you going around doing?
Cale Henituse.
People could not be calm when they were involved with this punk.
– No, seriously.
Gentle but resolute…
Cherishing and loving the citizens of his kingdom…
He was a scary but respectable liege for his vassals.
Alberu was still just crown prince, but realistically, he was one of the rulers of not just Roan but one of the representative rulers of Nameless 1.
– Do you even know what the Eight Hells are?
But Alberu Crossman could not maintain such demeanor in front of Cale.
“Mm. Aren't they field bosses, your highness?”
‘Wow.
Look at how relaxed he sounds.’
– Yeah.
‘Let’s just accept it.
What good would it do to get angry?’
Alberu Crossman brushed his face with both hands.
Alberu’s face, which made the people in the palace wonder how he could maintain his elegant smile while dealing with his piles of work, was scowling more than ever.
But he spoke calmly.
– The Eight Evils, to the users of RPOG, are the hardest level fields that they cannot even approach right now.
– Of course, they know about the respective fields of the Eight Evils, and some users have approached a portion of those areas.
– But currently, the RPOG users are not strong enough to even go up against the mini bosses of those fields.
Even Ahn Roh Man, the top ranker in the game, had not been able to defeat any of the final bosses of the Eight Evils.
“Ah. I see.”
Alberu’s face scowled even more at Cale’s calm response.
– Ah, I see? All you have to say is, ‘Ah, I see?’
“Yes, your highness.”
Cale shrugged his shoulders. Alberu just started laughing at Cale’s extremely disrespectful and rude demeanor that was driving him nuts.
– Hahaha!
‘The person who laughs wins.’
Cale flinched.
Alberu was laughing too loudly.
– The Eight Evils. The eight fields spread out inside RPOG were dangerous forbidden regions for the numerous creatures and users in the game.
Alberu calmly explained.
He did so with an elegant smile on his face.
Cale quickly sat up straight and listened carefully.
– Haha.
Alberu continued to laugh as he explained.
– Currently, the RPOG users have not even been able to take over a kingdom. Lots of nations and alliances already exist inside New World. Honestly speaking, it is larger and more complicated than our Nameless 1.
It may be inside a game, but the history of that place is still tens of thousands of years.
Alberu continued to think about this as he played the game.
– New World is set up even more realistic than reality. It is hard to believe it is Virtual Reality. The more you play the game, the more you can’t help but think that it is real.
He was serious about this.
Alberu said all of this with an elegant smile on his face.
“Yes, your highness.”
Cale subconsciously answered diligently, nodded his head, and listened carefully.
Alberu leaned against the chair and leisurely continued.
– You have taken control of the Third Evil and the Seventh Evil.
Smile.
Alberu’s smile became brighter.
– I like it.
“That, well, right?”
Cale nodded his head without any hesitation.
– Yeah. It will be a great card up my sleeve to become the Emperor.
“…Excuse me?”
– I'm currently doing a quest to become the Emperor.
‘Emperor?’
Cale asked in surprise.
“Then what about the hero?”
– …….
Alberu was silent for a moment.
The face that had looked so full of desire when he talked about becoming Emperor turned unsettled.
As Alberu remained silent, On suddenly chimed in.
“Both fit you well, nya.”
On wagged her tail next to Cale as she continued to speak.
“Emperor and Hero. Can’t you do both, your highness?”
Cale nodded his head.
“Emperor and Hero. I think it would be great to do both. It looks like you will be taking control of the RPOG world, your highness?”
Smile. An extremely entertained smile appeared on Cale's face.
Raon would have said this was the perfect scamming smile.
But the smile soon disappeared.
On calmly commented.
“One of you will step forward as the hero. The other will be the dark shadow that controls all of the evils from the darkness. If you do that, I think it is pretty realistic that you will control all of New World, nya.”
On seemed quite happy.
“The system will also try to help us too, so we should have everything we need to fight the enemies, nya! I think we will be able to destroy everything, nya!”
Cale started to think.
‘What the hell has Ron been teaching On?’
This thirteen year old girl was so great at saying vicious things.
The problem was that she was correct.
‘She’s smart.’
She was very smart.
He liked that a lot, but…
‘Mm.’
An unexplainable sense of iffyness filled Cale's heart.
– Uhh, mm.
Alberu had the same look on his face.
The two of them looked at each other.
He then opened his mouth.
– On is right.
“She is.”
The two of them decided to focus on work for now.
– As for the quest related to the hero, let’s discuss it in detail once you return to Roan. For now, we will both focus on expanding our influence in the game. What do you think?
“That sounds great, your highness. I will focus on expanding my influence within the Eight Evils.”
– Yeah. I will focus on the territories of the good.
Ah.
Alberu spoke as if he suddenly recalled something.
– Won't the enemies know that we are trying to increase our level of influence?
The large-scale update…
This was done by the Transparent © and showed that the Transparent Bloods and other enemies could make changes to this world.
Cale figured out what Alberu was worried about and answered.
“Billions.”
– ?
“That is the number of humans and other races in New World as NPCs.”
– !
“That is not including other types of NPCs, the monster mobs, animals and plants, or game users.”
– …….
Not hundreds of millions but billions.
Alberu was at a loss for words.
He could not fathom such a number.
“The Transparent Bloods will not be able to see everything.”
That was what allowed the system to create the A.I. On its own to trick them and start acting to protect New World and itself.
"The Hero Quest. The fact that such a quest could be created shows that the system is able to make moves of its own without the Hunters finding out.”
– I see. Then I guess I can worry less about the Hero Quest stuff being found out. The system will help as much as possible.
“Yes, your highness. However, the A.I. does not seem to know everything about the system.”
The created existence did not know everything about the main body.
That was why they were being told to find the hero and the A.I. That had existed since before. It didn't actually know where.
“The system also does not seem to know everything.”
It should be difficult to recognize all of the changes caused by billions.
– I guess that makes sense, the worlds you have met until now and even the gods did not know everything.
Isn’t that why the Hunters were able to pull all this crap?
“Yes, your highness. Either way, the system and its derived A.I. Will look after our allies as much as possible.”
– Okay. Then I will just keep on doing what I've been doing. But what about you, Cale Henituse?
Alberu asked a question.
– Neo was the final boss of the Seventh Evil. He was the patriarch of the Purple Bloods, and now that he has died, the Hunters will realize this and look into the Seventh Evil.
For the Third Evil, Cale was the Hidden Boss.
They would be able to fool the Hunters some way.
But the Seventh Evil was a different issue.
“Heh.”
Cale laughed.
-!
Alberu flinched.
Cale was smiling as if he was truly amused.
“As for that part, the puppet CEO, no, I mean the Heinous Dark Bear will become the puppet final boss and take care of things for us.”
– Heinous Dark Bear? That name sounds like a strong monster.
“He is a wise one.”
Cale recalled his conversation with the Dark Bear.
‘Please just leave it to me! I will fool them properly, my lord!’
‘How?’
‘After the large-scale update, as a substitute for that motherfucking Neo-’
The teddy bear was very wise.
‘This egg.’
“Hehe.”
Cale laughed again.
‘The Dragon that will hatch from this egg will be the true heir to the Seventh Evil. I will tell them this is the next generation Dragon. I am here as a temporary boss to help him. That is what I will tell them!’
‘I like that bear very much.’
‘Count Ruiphe of the Third Evil says he can make contact with the system, so I will contact him to hide the existence of this egg, Eden Miru-nim, and camouflage things properly!’
Dark Bear. Based on what he heard, there was a reason Neo didn’t make that teddy bear just a mere messenger and made him a mini boss.
‘This sort of deception and scamming… These are this Heinous Dark Bear's areas of expertise!’
Deception and scamming.
‘I am also the one who snuck into the First Evil, and stole this NPC registration device before making it fully functional! I am very skilled at manipulation!’
Manipulation.
Also the ability to steal and make a device.
The Heinous Dark Bear was not very aware of his own abilities.
Fighting and physical strength were not the only ways to be strong.
“I got a very talented subordinate so I plan on trusting him with everything.
Haha.”
Cale laughed.
“I'll introduce you to him next time, your highness. He will be a very talented helper.”
– Really?
A smile as simple as the spring breeze appeared on Alberu’s face.
On watched the two of them before shaking her head until she flinched.
‘Hmm?’
Choi Han was standing there with an odd look on his face.
Cale may say that it was the usual innocent look on Choi Han’s face, but On could see it.
‘He looks guilty?’
Choi Han had a guilty look on his face he usually had when he did something wrong.
On tilted her head and attentively observed Choi Han.
Cale and Alberu continued to chat without knowing this.
"Ah, your highness.”
Cale then added on.
“We should keep the Hero Quest a secret as much as possible. You should only discuss it with people you trust. We should be safe even with the system helping us.”
– Yeah. I already-
Mm.
Alberu hesitated for a moment before speaking.
– We will discuss it in detail once you return to Roan, but… Ahn Roh Man. I feel like that guy is scheming something.
President Ahn Roh Man, the top ranker in RPOG who was teaching Alberu about the game and helping him.
“Really?”
– Yeah. So I haven’t told that guy about the Hero Quest.
“That was a great decision, your highness.”
‘This is why he’s so reliable.’
“Anyway, we don’t know where enemies may be, so it would be best to be cautious about what we say.”
Cale noticed Alberu’s gaze and continued to speak.
“… It seems-’
Cale organized his thoughts for a moment before continuing.
“I believe the Transparent Bloods and Five Colors Bloods as well as other enemies have integrated themselves into the game as NPCs or game users.”
– Really?
“Yes, your highness. Neo wouldn't be the only one.”
Neo had been the final boss of the Seventh Evil.
‘Oh greatest of all evils. What I wanted to tell you about the First Evil is that the final boss of the First Evil also seems to be a mutant. If not, he seems to be an outsider like all of you.’
After seeing Eden Miru turn into an egg, the bear had shared that story.
“I believe that the First Evil is controlled by Hunters.”
– Mm. That explains why you are so interested in the Eight Evils.
“Yes, your highness. Plus, do you think they would have extended their reaches only to the Eight Evils?”
After creating this world…
Those bastards were also trying to create a god.
– They must be spread out all over.
Maybe…
– Maybe a king.
Or a hero.
Or even an omnipotent existence.
They could be any of those things to control the New World as they please.
“Yes, your highness. And they are currently our enemies.
This world wasn’t a destroyed or broken world like the ones Cale was visiting right now.
The world that Cale’s group would have to face now-
“This is a world the enemies created and has their hands on in every aspect.”
– It is their word.
“Yes, your highness. It is the world of our enemies.”
Cale had to go fight in such a place.
– Sounds like we need to gather as many allies as possible.
“Yes, your highness. That is what I am preparing for right now.”
Alberu’s gaze turned toward Cale.
Cale looked into those eyes that were full of anticipation and responded with a smile that satisfied that gaze.
The smart Alberu was able to find the answer based on the information he had already heard.
– Neo's lair?
“Yes, your highness.”
The large-scale update…
The new field that was scheduled to appear in the Seventh Evil at that time…
Neo had planned on taking his subordinates and slaves from Aipotu to that place.
– The people that want to go?
“For now, our group and the Central Plains.”
They had no idea about the number of their enemies.
No, they had no idea how many creatures the enemies could control and how many they would need to face.
‘We may need to fight against an entire world.’
In that case…
“As well as all of the worlds we have visited until now. I am going to reach out to all of them for their help.”
Xiaolen.
The Central Plains.
Aipotu.
He was going to ask all of them for help.
The more allies they had the better.
– Include Roan as well. No, include all of Nameless 1.
Cale’s smile became even wider after hearing Alberu's calm response.
– But that portal inside Neo's lair… Can we make something like that too?
“Sheritt-nim is looking into that, your highness. We will also need to loot the God of Death about anything he may know.”
– Haha-
Alberu laughed out loud.
– How interesting.
They may end up with a significant number of allies inside New World.
‘Cale will have the underworld.’
Cale would control it as the greatest of all evils.
‘I'll have the regular world.’
Alberu would have the portion through his quest that required him to become an Emperor.
They would have a major faction created in New World.
‘How entertaining.’
This was truly entertaining.
At the same time, it increased the weight on his shoulders.
Alberu was someone who happily accepted such responsibilities.
He always lived with a suffocating level of responsibilities anyway.
Alberu spoke with an elegant smile on his face.
– Come back quickly. We have a lot to do.
“I will, your highness.”
They said they would message each other about the details and ended the call.
Paaaat.
Cale watched the black screen for a bit before flinching.
Knock knock knock.
Someone knocked before almost slamming the door open.
“What is it?”
Choi Jung Soo answered Cale’s nonchalant question.
“I'm back.”
The former Deputy Chief Priest and Holy Maiden for the God of War, Cotton, was awkwardly smiling next to him.
Choi Jung Soo had been doing something with Cotton.
"We made contact with the Demon World.”
“Hahaha. Our leader wishes to meet with you, Cale-nim. Haha!”
Having met with Cotton's boss meant that they would have also met Choi Jung Gun, whom she was protecting.
And…
“Team leader-nim also contacted us. He seems to have found something in the basement of the Temple of the God of Chaos.”
Sui Khan had remained at the Temple of the God of Chaos with the Past Seeing Dragon, Chope, to find any related traces.
Dragon Lord Neo.
Now that they took care of him…
“Looks like we are still being flooded with things to do.”
But this was not bad news.
Cale motioned to Cotton and Choi Jung Soo.
“Let’s hear what you have to say.”
There were a lot of things he needed to confirm.
Choi Han watched Cale for a bit before quietly looking at the black screen of the disconnected divine item.
Alberu and Cale had been chatting about the game.
‘Mmm.’
When he went into the game to save Eden Miru…
He checked the egg Eden had become and then opened up his own status window.
He wanted to confirm that the registration was going well with the large-scale update coming up.
What he saw was bits and pieces recorded in the system already.
‘…….’
The status window had a few skills recorded as well.
Choi Han realized he had a skill that he had forgotten about, no, a skill he had tried very hard to forget.
This skill had been recorded while his sword art had yet to show up.
[Skill Name: Abandoning Your Life]
[Rank: Unique, One of a Kind]
This was an ancient power he had received after they defeated the White Star’s subordinate, the Dragon Slayer Syrem.
‘Abandoning Your Life.’
It was an ancient power that allowed you to offer up your life to do something.
It was a strong power that could even create an ancient power.
Choi Han had made a Vow of Death with Cale when he got this power.
‘I will make a Vow of Death, Cale-nim. If I use that power to negatively affect my life, lifespan, or my physical condition-’
Cale had retorted to Choi Han who wanted to make a Vow of Death.
‘The fact that you are using Abandoning Your Life would mean you are offering up a part of your life. Doesn’t that mean you are dying? So what good is a Vow of Death?’
Cale, who knew Choi Han would easily offer his own life to save someone else, asked back and Choi Han answered in a way that Cale would no longer question.
‘No, death is not the cost I will vow, Cale-nim. If I use this power at the cost of my lifespan, I will vow that I will lose someone important to me.’
He would not lose himself but one of his friends.
That was why Choi Han had no reason to use Abandoning Your Life.
No, he could not use it.
“…….”
However, New World.
That was a place where the laws of this world, where a vow to the God of Death could not reach.
‘No.’
Choi Han shook his head.
‘Let's not think too deeply about it.
I need to focus on what is in front of me right now.
There's still a lot of things to do in Aipotu.
There are a lot of things to clean up.
We also have a ton of things to prepare.’
They truly had a lot to do.
Choi Han did his best to forget about the status window.
“…….”
Only On was observing Choi Han with an odd look on her face.
She was the only one to see Choi Han's face.
‘His hand.’
And his hands.
She saw his tightly clenched fists.
On heard Cotton's voice at that moment.
“Do you want to go to the Demon World?”
Cale scowled after hearing that. He subconsciously asked back.
“Me?”
The Fire of Destruction could not hide his shock.
– Aigoo. It’s the Demon World this time?
Cale felt the same way.
