Chapter 1141 — Book 2: Chapter 338: What is your target, your end goal? (2)
15 min read ·
Cale repeated the words etched into his mind.
“The first wanderer-”
Originally, there had been seven Hunter families.
White Bloods.
Red Bloods.
Black Bloods.
Blue Bloods.
Purple Bloods.
Five Colors Bloods.
Among them, the White Bloods and Red Bloods were no longer a part of the seven due to betrayal or going extinct.
‘Choi Jung Gun-’
The currently unconscious Choi Jung Gun…
The Choi Jung Gun Cale met in the sealed god’s test told him to find the Red Bloods.
Furthermore, what he also said…
‘The King's Successor. The five patriarchs protect the King's Successor and await the grand vision for after the successor has grown.’
The King's Successor.
This was the omnipotent god, the current target that Cale had to stop.
The World of the Gods, the Hunters, and the Demon World…
These three factions were trying to create the omnipotent god.
‘But my enemy is the Hunters.’
The World of the Gods and Demon World were not things for Cale to handle.
Nameless 1.
As someone living in that world, the Hunters were the enemies hindering Cale and his friends’ lives.
Stopping them and their grand vision of creating the omnipotent god was simply to bring peace to his own life.
– Yeah. Cale, you can't forget about that.
As the Super Rock said in a low voice, Cale had no intention of forgetting his original goal.
Black Bloods.
Blue Bloods.
Purple Bloods.
‘I took care of three places.’
Now all that was left were the Transparent Bloods and the Five Colors Bloods.
‘Earth 3 and Virtual Reality. I can fight against the Transparent Bloods there.’
Of course, now that he knew the Virtual Reality was a new world and the location the enemies were planning to give birth to the omnipotent god…
‘I'm sure I'll run into all sorts of things.’
Cale was certain that he would face quite the array of things in Virtual Reality.
But his goal was simple.
Transparent Bloods, Five Colors Bloods, omnipotent god.
Cale planned on taking his hands off of everything after taking care of just those three things.
‘The gods will deal with the issues in the World of the Gods-
The demonic race will take care of the issues in the Demon World.’
Each just had to play their respective roles.
‘Because of that-’
Information about his enemies, the Transparent Bloods, Five Colors Bloods, and omnipotent god, was important.
‘The leader of the Five Colors Bloods is the first wanderer.’
The moment that information became clearly etched in Cale’s mind…
“That’s not possible.”
Choi Jung Soo spoke with a look of disbelief.
“The first wanderer is currently missing- ah.”
A gasp of understanding came out of his mouth.
“Because he is missing, it is possible for him to become the leader of the Five Colors Bloods.”
Cale looked at Choi Jung Soo and asked.
“You know about the first wanderer?”
“Yeah. I've heard.”
Choi Jung Soo started walking toward Choi Jung Gun’s altar before stopping.
The altar was at the center of all sorts of magic circles.
Choi Jung Gun was lying down on top of it.
Choi Jung Soo had to stop in front of the magic circle.
“The people with the qualification to become gods are called single-lifers. After the five ancient Gods appeared, single-lifers started to slowly appear in the World of the Gods to take the different god positions.”
The five ancient Gods.
Hope, Balance, Chaos, Denial, Justice.
“Among them, there was the first person to reject the position of a god. That person is called the first wanderer.”
Choi Jung Soo looked toward Cale again.
"That is all I know.”
Cale then turned toward the Great Thief of the Night.
“That’s similar to what I know.”
Aurora received his gaze and answered.
“Mm.”
She stopped for a moment to organize her thoughts and then continued to speak.
“Choi Jung Gun. When I first met him… He said that ‘the leader of the Five Colors Bloods is the first wanderer’ before he fainted.”
Choi Jung Gun had slowly been losing his consciousness with one arm cut off.
"After hearing that information, I decided to save Choi Jung Gun. I left our traces behind and brought him here.”
Choi Jung Soo listened for a bit before speaking again.
"When I decided to become a wanderer, they told me the story of how the first wanderer went missing as a word of caution.”
“A word of caution?”
“Yeah. Wanderers are essentially mercenaries. They come to handle things when the people of the Divine World or the World of the Gods are unable to take care of a request from the gods.”
He already knew that part.
“The first wanderer went missing while completing one of those requests from a god.”
"Which god?”
Choi Jung Soo's face instantly stiffened at that question.
– I have a bad feeling about this.
As the Super Rock mentioned, Cale felt an unexplainable sense of leeriness before Choi Jung Soo started to speak again.
“…Justice.”
One of the five ancient Gods.
Justice.
Aurora chimed in as well.
“I have confirmed that information as well.”
After hearing the information from Choi Jung Gun, she had the Arbitrators gather related information.
“This is something that is already well-known in the World of the Gods and the Divine World.”
“It is. It is a common warning given to all of the single-lifers who wish to become wanderers.”
“However-”
Aurora's voice sank down.
“However, we were not able to find any information on what request the God of Justice gave the first wanderer. We only learned that the God of Justice tried her best to find the first wanderer but failed to do so.”
“That is the truth. The fact that even an ancient God was unable to find him made it certain that the first wanderer was missing. Yes, that-”
Choi Jung Soo's eyes opened wide as he organized his thoughts.
“Huh?”
Cale and Choi Jung Soo made eye contact.
“What?”
Choi Jung Soo slowly answered Cale’s question.
“Now that I think about it-”
The first wanderer.
He heard that the God of Justice went through all sorts of trouble to find him.
But she was unable to do so.
As a result, the warning to only take on requests at their level was given to all wanderers to prevent something like this from happening again.
However…
“Umm, the God of Justice's request is not known.”
"And?”
“No, that’-”
Choi Jung Soo went through his thoughts.
He then became certain.
In the past, Kim Rok Soo emphasized that terms and conditions or rules had to be basically memorized completely so that you are not stabbed in the back.
As a result, he clearly remembered the things about wanderers.
Choi Jung Soo commented with almost a despondent look on his face.
“…The God of Justice never said that the request was failed?”
Cale frowned.
Aurora asked with confusion.
“Wouldn’t he have gone missing because the request was failed?”
“I'm not sure.”
Choi Jung Soo shook his head.
“If the request had failed, someone else should have received that request. However, there were no talks about that at all.”
Choi Jung Soo had attentively remembered it because it was related to the missing incident.
Cale started to speak.
“Something feels iffy.”
Currently, they knew that the God of War and the God of Chaos were working with the Hunters.
“The God of Justice is connected to the missing first wanderer?”
And that request was still a secret?
Aurora responded.
“It does smell fishy.”
“Right?”
There was definitely something to this.
It sounded like they should look into this ‘request.’
“I'll try to get some info on the request.”
Cale nodded his head at Choi Jung Soo.
“We should be able to go through the God of Death, right?”
“Yeah. That should be fine.”
Rasheel scratched his cheek and commented.
“Hey. What if the God of Justice has also sided with Chaos?”
It was an appropriate concern.
Choi Jung Soo, Aurora, and even Choi Han’s faces stiffened.
This was especially true of Choi Han, whose face was continuously getting worse while being unable to look away from Choi Jung Gun.
“…….”
“…….”
One person started to speak through the silence.
“What else?”
It was Cale.
"We tell the gods to deal with it.”
An extremely angry looking Cale answered in a casual tone.
“Tell the God of Death to deal with it. And If he can’t do it by himself, get the God of Balance and God of Hope involved.”
The calmly speaking Cale looked quite annoyed.
Gulp.
Aurora's gaze toward Cale became even heated.
Balance, Hope…
‘He can mention those two gods so easily?
What level is his networking with the gods?’
Forget a golden calf, she looked at him as if he was a golden bull.
Cale had no idea as he nonchalantly continued.
“If it is difficult for them to help us with what we are doing, the least they can do is not get in our way.”
What Cale was doing.
It was dealing with the omnipotent god and the Hunters.
“Shouldn't the gods at least do that much?”
“Uhh-”
As Rasheel was unable to say anything…
“You are right. They should at least do that much.”
Cale flinched.
Choi Han was the one who said that.
Cale turned his head.
He could see Choi Han looking at him with an innocent smile on his face.
– Human, Choi Han is angry!
‘Yeah.
Even I can tell that.’
Cale gulped.
He could feel that Choi Han was very angry.
“I do not understand.”
Mary then commented in a mechanical voice.
“If they want to fight, they can just punch each other and fight. I do not know why they are making people who are living fine with no issues get involved to fight.”
– Human, Mary is angry too!
‘I know, right?’
“Great words.”
"Thank you very much.”
The way Choi Han and Mary were talking to each other, it really-
– Human, they are both angry!
‘I know, right?’
They really did look a bit scary.
These two people, whom he could not predict what kind of trouble they would cause, currently looked a bit crazy.
“Ahem.”
Cale let out a fake cough before speaking.
“Is this Choi Jung Gun's best state right now?”
“Yes sir.”
Aurora’s face turned dark.
“The pollution will progress rapidly if he leaves this magic circle and he will not be able to last even three days. Well, he may last a week because he is a single-lifer.”
“Mm.”
Cale contemplated for a bit before asking.
“Is it okay to go into this magic circle?”
“Excuse me?”
“Shouldn’t I get close to verify his condition?”
“Of course.”
“Do you have to stop the magic circle during that time?”
“Ah. It will be okay. The magic circle is there to slow the pollution. It is not one that will harm anyone else. It is for healing.”
Aurora smiled warmly at him.
Cale asked back with a friendly smile as well.
“Ah, then it should be fine for me to go inside?”
“Excuse me?”
“I want to go check on Choi Jung Gun.”
“Excuse me?”
Aurora became flustered.
“Mm.”
She organized her thoughts for a bit and cautiously answered.
“The pollution has an incubatory period, but once the pollution starts, it does become communicable. Of course, you have to touch the liquid coming out of those boils to get infected, but… You can’t just approach it carelessly.”
The pollution of chaos.
This was communicable.
"That is why we created such a magic circle to fight against the pollution.”
She warily looked at Cale before speaking even more cautiously.
“Umm, based on what I have heard, you are very weak, sir. I heard you were similar to a candle in front of a typhoon…”
Cale scowled.
Seeing him like this made Aurora speak in a way to console her golden calf. She said whatever she wanted to say.
“AH, of course, you are a flame that does not submit to any typhoon or wave! I heard that your flame may be small but it is unwavering!”
"That is true. He is quite the persistent one.”
Rasheel agreed.
Cale frowned even more.
"Anyway, the pollution of chaos is truly dangerous. If possible, it would be better not to approach it. Well, people from our side do get close to check on his condition or to heal him, but… That’s only possible after wearing proper protective equipment- wait!”
Aurora's eyes opened wide.
Cale had stepped into the magic circle.
Oooooo-
He could feel vibrations underneath his feet.
However, he did not feel any harm to his body.
– In fact, I feel energy coming from it?
As the Super Rock mentioned, this magic circle seemed to be a healing kind that put energy into your body.
“Wait, Mr. Cale!”
A surprised Aurora reached her hand out but Cale had already started walking in.
Step, step.
Cale got close to Choi Jung Gun.
"Bring over some protective equipment!”
Aurora shouted to the outside.
“…….”
Cale’s face looked as cold as ice.
‘A stench.’
A terrible smell poked at his nose.
This was the smell coming from the boils on Choi Jung Gun's body.
The sealed god’s test.
Choi Jung Gun looked the same as the guy Cale met during his high school days as Kim Rok Soo inside that test.
‘He’s young.’
Time seemed to flow extremely slowly for him as well, similar to Choi Han, as he looked younger than Cale.
“…….”
His breathing was faint.
Cale lowered his head.
“!”
However, someone placed a hand on his shoulder.
He turned his head.
As if she had never been cautious…
As if she had never been flustered…
Aurora had a cold look on her face as she held onto him and spoke.
“I said it was communicable.”
The cold look in her golden eyes was suffocating, but Cale could tell this was Aurora’s true demeanor and calmly answered.
“It's fine for me.”
“…What do you mean by that?”
Cale showed with action instead of words.
Ooooooo—
The intangible aura coming out of his body…
Aurora flinched once she came into contact with it.
“Boss, the protective equipment-, eek!”
A horned man who opened the door and walked inside gasped and stopped.
Aurora’s golden eyes went so cold they looked frozen.
“This, this aura seems similar to that of chaos.”
Aurora's golden eyes watched as Cale Henituse smiled brightly.
“It is. It is definitely similar.”
– Because I stole it! Kahahaha!
The Dominating Aura laughed out loud.
Cale looked away from Aurora and focused on Choi Jung Gun again.
Aurora did not stop him this time.
– Cale, this is familiar.
The traces of chaos left on Choi Jung Gun…
– It seems to be the Saint of the God of Chaos. It is that bastard’s aura.
While Cale had been fighting against the First and Second Saint Dragons…
The wanderer Hunters had been fighting against Choi Jung Gun in the abandoned Temple of the God of Chaos.
One of those people was the Saint.
There was no need to question how he showed up here.
The Saint had participated in putting the World Tree in the Time Prison in the past.
If he appeared in Aipotu at that time, there was no reason he couldn't appear again.
Dragon Lord Neo's lair…
‘Virtual Reality.’
Raising my very own precious omnipotent god.
The Saint probably went through Neo's lair as it had a path into the game.
Or maybe he used the dimension traveler method the Hunters use.
"What a pity.”
It was possible that Cale just barely missed a chance to see them.
‘What is a pity?’
Aurora felt a bit odd at Cale’s words.
She felt like she missed something vicious.
It was at that moment.
“It looks possible.”
‘What?’
As Aurora looked toward Cale again…
Cale heard the voices of two ancient powers.
– I know the way to seep in now.
The Sky Eating Water, a power that had been chained down inside a lake full of the God of Chaos's power for a long time.
– I think I should be able to purify it if I experience that power a bit more.
The Fire of Destruction, a power that can not only burn dead mana but purify it.
One side was familiar with chaos.
The other side specialized in purification.
– One bastard!
– One time!
The two answered at the same time.
– I think I should be able to push out the pollution in this body if I face one more bastard with the power of chaos!
The Sky Eating Water raised her voice.
– One time, if I have just one chance to try purifying this pollution of chaos, I should be able to purify Choi Jung Gun's pollution as well!
The Fire of Destruction shouted.
There was only one person Cale knew of with the power of chaos who could cause such pollution.
Furthermore, Cale remembered the purification ritual drawn on the slate board that Sui Khan brought back.
He was certain that that bastard was the only one who knew how to do this.
Cale spoke to Choi Jung Soo and Choi Han who were standing in the distance behind Aurora's shoulder.
"The Saint. If we capture and fuck that guy up, I should be able to save Choi Jung Gun.”
If not that…
“Or we just need to capture one bastard who knows how to use the power of the God of Chaos.”
Cale smiled gently.
"Then I should be able to get some answers about this pollution.”
Choi Jung Soo and Choi Han's faces lit up.
Cale got a bit anxious while watching them.
The God of Chaos.
He was slowly starting to form ways to fight against him.
‘…There should be no need to fight against a god, right?
I just need to face the Hunters?’
Cale did his best to change the direction of his thoughts.
‘Yeah. This is all just to fight against the believers of the God of Chaos!
Shouldn’t I take the God of Chaos’s powers one by one in order to fight against them?’
Cale was satisfied with his own thoughts.
“…The greatest disaster…i, it is possible to get rid of it…? Without… The help of a god…? With his own power……?”
That was why he did not hear Aurora properly.
“Excuse me? What did you say?”
He asked back and Aurora slowly enunciated.
The greatest disaster.
The pollution of chaos.
This was one of the three worst issues in the Demon World and the Divine World.
They were discussed as legends, but they were omnipotent disasters that actually existed and forced them to bow their heads to the gods.
“…Y, you can get rid of the pollution……?”
“Ah, yes. I believe so?”
Aurora subconsciously asked after seeing Cale gently shrug his shoulders.
“What is your target, your end goal?”
Cale answered honestly at this unexpected question.
“To be a slacker.”
