Chapter 1150 — Book 2: Chapter 347: Who the hell are these humans? (4)
13 min read ·
Cale, who rushed out of the Black Castle as if he was being chased out, looked forward.
Swooooooosh-
The wind was blowing.
The battlefield where he had fought against Neo…
The Black Castle that still remained there…
“…….”
Cale turned his head to the side.
“Human! Let’s hurry! We need to go get Lock!”
As Raon and Hong shouted loudly…
“…….”
He could see Eruhaben looking almost soulless.
Eruhaben slowly looked to the left. Cale and Eruhaben made eye contact with each other.
“You too?”
“…Yes, Eruhaben-nim.”
“…Let’s go.”
“…Yes, Eruhaben-nim.”
Cale and Eruhaben were pushed by Sheritt, Raon, and Hong to do something.
Ooooooooong-
Eruhaben cast a teleportation magic circle.
“I went once a few days ago.”
Cale stepped onto the teleportation magic circle and looked at Eruhaben with a confused look on his face.
He could not believe that it was not settled despite Eruhaben going in person.
“Haaaaaaaa.”
Eruhaben let out a deep sigh, showing that it was a complicated situation.
“This thing…
Tsk.” The ancient Dragon clicked his tongue before continuing to speak.
“I heard you told Lock he needs a temple and a divine item?”
“I did.”
Cale had told Lock everything the God of Death had told him.
< Hey, can you please advent him in Aipotu? Please? >
< You just need to create a new divine item. >
< Build him a nice and fancy new temple too. >
Lock had nodded his head after hearing the message.
‘I see. The Blue Wolf-nim told me something similar.’
Cale could not hide the look of confusion on his face.
"Did something happen with one of those two things?”
“Mm. Let's go there first. Go see it first and then we can talk about it. Mm-”
Eruhaben stopped for a moment before continuing on.
“The situation is a bit awkward.”
Cale realized something was up.
Ooooooooong-
Cale thought about the conversation he had with Lock in the past as he got onto the teleportation magic circle.
The Blue Wolf. Lock had sought out Cale for some advice regarding the matter.
‘How should I explain it, young master-nim?’
‘Just tell them exactly what you want to say.’
‘…I'm just worried there are things I should not say.’
‘There is no such thing.’
The First Saint Dragon, Ryan.
When the God of Chaos had appeared in his lair…
The waves of chaos that were created…
The Blue Wolf had been the one to stop it.
Cale's group was able to survive without getting hurt thanks to him, so he had no choice but to say that.
‘Umm, he says that he is going to sleep for a bit.’
The Blue Wolf had used too much of his power for it, so he became unable to communicate.
‘He says that he used too much of his power.’
He fell asleep.
‘After that, I didn’t hear anything about him waking up before I went to the Demon World.’
That was the last thought before Cale closed his eyes.
Paaaat-!
There was a bright light and his body was teleported.
“Human, it’s been a while since we came here!”
He saw a familiar castle when he opened his eyes.
The First Saint Dragon, Ryan.
It was that bastard’s lair.
A good portion of it was damaged from the battle, which explained the numerous restoration jobs around them.
“Welcome.”
Wiesha was the one to greet them.
There were some other familiar faces as well, probably because they informed them in advance from the Black Castle.
“Hello again.”
“It's been a while. Please come in.”
Cale observed the four figures before looking at Wiesha.
She smiled bitterly at him.
‘Based on what I heard, Wiesha was on the side of letting Lock go.’
However, that smile showed a lot of mixed emotions.
Sssssss–!
A small baby snake appeared down Wiesha’s arm.
“It’s been a while, baby snake!”
“So happy to see you, nya! Hi!”
The baby snake wagged her tail at Raon and got on Hong’s back that he offered.
Cale watched the kids greet each other before speaking.
"Where is Lock?”
“Mm. I will escort you there right away.”
Cale stepped into Ryan's lair once again behind Wiesha.
Bang, baaaaang!
Boom, boom!
It was busy inside the lair as well with lots of restoration going on.
Cale looked around as he walked.
“They are all Beast people.”
“Yes. A lot of places told us they would help us, but we rejected their offer.”
Empires and Kingdoms. Many places were willing to send people or materials to help with the restoration, however…
The Beast people declined their offers.
“We are creating our Holy Land, so we wanted to build it with our own hands.”
Holy Land.
Cale nodded his head at Wiesha’s comment.
“Are you creating a temple here as well?’
“Yes. This place is a meaningful place for many reasons.”
The Beast people had been suppressed for over two hundred years.
They needed a pivot point for the barely surviving Beast people all around the continent to gather together.
“Currently, myself as well as the three here… And a few more make up the 10 members of the planning committee and we all chose this place as the first Holy Land.
Ryan’s Castle.
This was the place where the savage Beast people were treated as slaves.
“The numerous Beast people who died here…”
A large number of Beast people had ended up as sacrifices, dying terrible deaths in the basement of this castle.
The goal of their deaths was the ‘Howl of Sunset.’ It was to pollute the only remaining divine item of the Blue Wolf.
"We needed a location to honor them.”
However, that divine item did not end up becoming polluted.
“Furthermore, this is the place our revered Blue Wolf revealed himself again in this world.”
The Blue Wolf had shown his power here.
“Through the young Wolf who resembles him.”
Young Wolf.
This was talking about Lock.
“We decided this was the place to show that the Beast people overcame two hundred years of suffering to start anew.”
It was also a good place to gather because it was located near the Empire, which was the center of Aipotu.
And although a lot of places were destroyed, this was still the lair of the First Saint Dragon.
This place had a lot of value.
Wiesha let out a bitter chuckle.
“Thankfully, the Empire and many kingdoms agreed to give us the right to self-govern in this area.”
A Holy Land just for the Beast people had appeared.
Of course, Wiesha did not like it because it came with the unspoken caveat that they would brush aside the repression the Beast people had faced in the past.
But what could she do?
“For now… We decided to accept their goodwill.”
The Beast people were still weak.
They were also scattered.
They had forgotten how to gather as they had all been running away, figuring out how to survive on their own.
‘But that will change in the future.’
The Beast people would gather together tighter than two hundred years ago.
They now had the experiences of what they had faced.
Some in the planning committee, reflecting the thoughts of the others, have discussed creating their own United Alliance of Beast people Kingdoms.
‘They are all offering to help knowing this is taking place.’
Wiesha was not happy about all of this.
She looked away, thinking that she should stop thinking these useless thoughts and then flinched.
“!”
She saw Cale looking at her with a discontented look.
Cale Henituse.
He was now becoming an existence even greater than the Dragons here in Aipotu.
‘Five Colored Lights was it?’
It was called the temple serving the radiant Five Colored Lights.
Quite a lot of people knew that the Five Colored Lights was talking about Cale Henituse.
Someone that amazing was looking at Wiesha with a cold gaze.
Cale's stoic face started to speak in a just as dull voice.
“Lock is not the Blue Wolf.”
“……!”
Wiesha’s pupils started to shake.
"Furthermore, Lock is not a child, but… He is still young.”
Cale continued in an emotionless voice.
“Should we really be putting all this baggage on a child?”
The cold gaze looked once at Wiesha before looking away.
However, the afterimage of that gaze remained and sent shivers down Wiesha's spine.
No, a faint aura was sweeping over her as well as the already stiff four members of the planning committee.
It was faint but there was something in it that made them scared.
They heard a relaxed voice.
“Saving all of you was enough. Should you really be asking for even more?”
Cale looked back at Wiesha. He then smiled.
“Whether you fight or argue or whatever, that is none of our business. We each live our own lives. You know what I mean, right?”
Cale didn’t know what kind of issue was here that even Eruhaben was saying it was awkward.
But regardless…
‘They need to stay in their lane.’
Cale was getting more annoyed the longer he listened to Wiesha.
Holy Land?
Fine, sounds great.
It is meaningful.
The Beast people eventually finding their place and then desiring to get stronger?
That was fine too.
‘But that’s for them to figure out.’
Based on what they were doing right now, it was obvious they said all of this to Lock as well.
Maybe they did so because they saw him as a fellow member of the Beast people race, but…
Cale wanted to clearly let them know something.
“Lock may be a fellow Beast person to all of you, but…”
Plus, the fact that he called for the Blue Wolf…
That might make them think he was on their side, but…
“Lock is a part of our family.”
Lock is a member of our family.
On the same side? That was not at the same level.
“You understand the difference between the two, right?”
The corners of Cale’s lips twisted up.
“It will not be very good if you don’t know the difference. Hmm?”
Wiesha gulped and answered as she could tell that Cale wanted an answer.
“W, we do know.”
Cale continued to smile as he responded.
“That’s a relief that you do know. It truly truly is a relief.”
His quiet mumble was full of sincerity.
“Please lead the way.”
Wiesha's steps quickened at Cale’s comment. It was not just her. The other three members of the planning committee were moving quickly as well.
‘Aigoo.’
Eruhaben, who was standing in the back, was watching with a satisfied smile on his face.
On the other hand, Cale's face did not look very good.
‘Mmm.’
The Beast people they met as they walked…
They all cautiously bowed toward them.
Their faces looked calm, however-
‘They all look extremely anxious.’
They looked as if they had major worries on their minds.
Cale could tell what those concerns were when he finally met Lock.
“So…”
Cale pressed on his temples and started to speak.
“The temple is already being built.”
Temple.
The area had been determined and the foundation was being built right now.
A dazzling Temple of the Blue Wolf would soon be built.
“Prayers and basic rituals are already being done as well?”
Prayers toward the Blue Wolf were already happening in regular intervals.
It wasn’t a demand, only those who wished to do so gathered and called out to their forgotten god.
“The item that will become the divine item has been completed as well.”
A divine item.
They had an item ready for it already.
It was a small sculpture in the shape of a wolf made from a piece of wood from the garden with the World Tree.
The Beast people had prepared all sorts of things.
"Furthermore, the Beast people were starting to agree to let you go?”
Wiesha and around half of the planning committee had been saying that it was not right to give Lock the position of Pope, endlessly convincing the others.
They also apologized to Lock many times.
As a result, the Beast people were slowly coming to terms with the fact that their request had been too much.
They were thinking that they were already extremely grateful that he saved them and brought their god's existence back to them. Asking for even more was going too overboard.
As things were about to end without issues-
“But a problem happened?”
Cale was flabbergasted.
“Yes, young master-nim. It is a problem.”
The timidly sighing Lock's shoulders were curled in.
Cale said the problem he heard out loud.
“He’s rejecting the divine item?”
The faint blue dot floating around on Lock’s shoulder…
The sleeping Blue Wolf…
“…Yes, young master-nim. The Blue Wolf is not absorbing into the divine item.”
Cale subconsciously commented after hearing that.
“Hold on, why is the Blue Wolf-nim doing that? Is our esteemed Blue Wolf-nim too busy sleeping?”
Cale, who had looked favorably on the Blue Wolf for saving him from the God of Chaos before, slowly turned unsettled.
Clunk!
An old man on the side jumped up and subconsciously shouted.
“The Blue Wolf-nim has his reasons for everything he does. It is our duty to figure out the meaning behind them! But to dare to say such things-”
But he could not keep talking.
Cale looked at him.
The old man was the representative of the group that had suggested for Lock to be their Pope.
Cale asked with a scowl.
"What is it? Do you have any complaints?”
“…….”
The old man could not say anything even if he had any complaints.
“I've called the God of Chaos a dog. I’m on casual speaking terms with the God of Death.”
Cale was still speaking respectfully about the Blue Wolf in comparison.
“…….”
The old man slowly sat back down and avoided Cale’s gaze.
He was someone who had personally seen Cale’s power.
Cale turned his gaze and looked back at Lock.
Lock timidly spoke up after seeing Cale’s gaze.
“I don’t know if he is still sleeping but I can’t talk to him no matter how hard I try.”
The small blue dot.
It just remained on Lock’s shoulder and rejected the divine item.
They couldn't communicate, so he had no way of knowing the reason. There wasn’t anything Lock could do.
“Mm.”
‘Can’t communicate.’
Cale stopped running his fingers on the armrest and looked around.
The Beast people avoided his gaze.
The ten members of the planning committee were gathered around Lock.
“Mm.”
Cale contemplated for a moment before he made eye contact with Raon.
“Human, this is a bit of a headache!”
“Is that so?”
“Hmm?”
Raon’s eyes opened wide at Cale’s nonchalant comment.
It wasn’t just Raon, everybody turned to look at Cale.
Rustle.
Cale pulled a mirror out of his pocket.
It was the God of Death's divine item.
Cale tapped on the screen and asked.
“Hey. God of Death. You there?”
Things related to gods…
He just had to ask the God of Death if they didn't know what to do.
“……!”
“!!”
“Eek.”
“Mm!”
The people who understood the meaning behind Cale’s words stiffened.
Cale continued to do what he needed to do despite the astonished crowd.
“Hey. You get the situation, right? I want answers.”
He confidently demanded answers from the god he found to be the easiest to deal with, the God of Death.
“Give me answers.”
Answers regarding this issue.
‘He should let me know since it has to do with gods.’
Ooooooooong-
The mirror gently shook.
< You motherfucking bastard. >
The God of Death swore at Cale for the first time.
Cale laughed.
